Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 43.3
“Huh?” Sui Yu looked up, a little dazed. Then she suddenly realized what Shen Jueshu meant. She tossed the pillow in her hands aside and quickly hopped over to the bed, blinking innocently. “I want to sleep here!”
Watching her smooth and rapid change of course, Shen Jueshu tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. Her ears were faintly red.
She sat down at the edge of the bed—only to realize something was off.
Sui Yu, meanwhile, had started to frown too. “What’s under the blanket? Why does it crinkle every time we move?”
She reached over to lift the covers.
Shen Jueshu straightened and grabbed the other corner of the blanket to help.
When they peeled the covers back, both were momentarily stunned.
The bed was littered with brightly colored packages.
Sui Yu instinctively picked one up. Printed on the front was a hand—with a thin, transparent… something on one of the fingers.
She recoiled like she’d been burned, instantly tossing it aside. Her face turned scarlet, and she couldn’t even bring herself to look in Shen Jueshu’s direction.
Wh-what the hell is this?!
Did Auntie prepare all of this?!
Does she think we’re animals?!
Sui Yu was mentally unraveling. She had never been this embarrassed in her life.
Shen Jueshu, on the other hand, had immediately recognized what they were. Watching Sui Yu examine one with such confusion made her expression turn complicated and then she couldn’t help but laugh.
How is she this adorable?
Watching Sui Yu fidget like she wanted to crawl into a hole, she casually picked one up and twirled it between her fingers. Her voice was laced with amusement. “You’ve never seen these before?”
Seeing how nonchalantly she was handling it, Sui Yu felt dizzy. Her face was now redder than a boiled crab. “Why are you holding it?! I-I’ve never seen it before!”
She had seen the other kind before—the ones next to chewing gum at the checkout counter—but not these. She only recognized these from descriptions in novels.
Shen Jueshu smiled subtly at her reaction. She was very satisfied.
It meant Sui Yu had only ever belonged to her.
Her eyes flickered, and her throat went dry. She looked up at Sui Yu. “So… do you want to try it?”
“Huh? Try it?” Sui Yu’s eyes widened in shock. She glanced at the little thing in Shen Jueshu’s fingers and immediately turned crimson again, shaking her head furiously. “No no no no—I don’t want to try anything right now!”
Especially not that!
They had only just started dating today! Jumping into bed on day one felt way too much like something a sleazy Alpha would do!
She couldn’t even look at Shen Jueshu anymore. In a flustered rush, she gathered up the items and stuffed them into the bedside drawer. Then she dove into the bed and wrapped herself in the covers like a cocoon, back turned toward Shen Jueshu like a startled little turtle.
She didn’t even know how to do anything anyway!
Watching her flail and burrow like that, Shen Jueshu couldn’t stop the quiet laugh that escaped her lips.
What am I going to do with such a pure-hearted Alpha?
She placed the one in her hand back in the drawer too, turned off the lights, then climbed into bed and pulled Sui Yu gently into her arms from behind.
“If you’re not ready, we can wait,” she whispered reassuringly.
In the darkness, Sui Yu felt the warmth of her body pressing close from behind, and the calming scent of geraniums drifted into her senses.
She mumbled a soft response.
Feeling a bit embarrassed.
Sui Yu couldn’t help thinking—as an Alpha, shouldn’t she be the confident one here? She didn’t even have the courage to face something like this head-on.
Still, in that gentle embrace, they spent their first night together as official partners.
The next morning, Sui Yu instinctively scooted toward the warmest spot in the bed, her mind still in a sleepy haze.
“You’re awake?” came Shen Jueshu’s voice above her.
As soon as Sui Yu’s body shifted toward the warmest part of the bed, she froze, suddenly realizing what—or rather who—she was snuggling up against. Her face began to flush with heat.
She pulled back slightly and looked up at Shen Jueshu, only now realizing that at some point during the night, she had turned and ended up face-to-face with her.
“G-Good morning…” she stammered, feeling awkward about their current position.
Seriously, who ends up in the same bed the day they confirm their relationship?
“Mm. Since you’re awake, time to get up,” Shen Jueshu replied casually, loosening her arms from around her and sitting up like this kind of morning routine was completely normal. She slipped out of bed and headed into the bathroom to wash up.
Once she left, Sui Yu buried her face in the blanket.
So embarrassing!
She was the Alpha—so why was she the one being held?!
When Shen Jueshu came out and saw Sui Yu hiding like an ostrich, she chuckled, then walked to the wardrobe and began picking out her outfit for the day. “If you don’t hurry up, I’m leaving without you,” she said playfully.
The moment her voice dropped, Sui Yu shot out of bed and dashed into the bathroom.
Shen Jueshu laughed again.
After selecting her own outfit, she paused and pulled out a set of clothes for Sui Yu too—something that subtly matched hers. Couple outfits, in their own understated way.
When Sui Yu finished washing up and came back out, she caught sight of Shen Jueshu mid-change. The sleepwear had already been pulled halfway up, and instead of turning away like she usually would, Sui Yu—before she could stop herself—snuck a glance.
And what she saw… nearly fried her brain.
She stared in a daze at Shen Jueshu’s smooth, pale waist.
Then she stepped closer, lowering her head as she took a better look—and couldn’t resist reaching out to touch it. The skin was firm yet soft, toned in all the right ways.
Her hand paused, then she looked up at Shen Jueshu with a face full of betrayal.
“You have abs?!”
Shen Jueshu has abs?! This was an attack on every level!
When she saw where Sui Yu was staring, Shen Jueshu understood immediately. And when she heard her devastated accusation, she couldn’t help but smirk.
“Of course,” she replied, clearly amused. “Not like someone else… who’s got nothing but soft squishiness.”
Sui Yu’s expression grew even more tragic. Damn those A/B/O novel stereotypes! Omega didn’t automatically mean soft and delicate! Some of them could have better figures than Alphas!
Shen Jueshu was nearly laughing at how expressive she was. She cupped Sui Yu’s cheeks and gently squished them. “Well, you never want to work out. Of course you don’t have abs.”
Sui Yu: “…” That hit right in the gut.
“Want to join me when I work out?” Shen Jueshu offered, her voice soft.
Sui Yu looked conflicted. “I… I’m not really a fan of moving.”
She’d never liked sports. Her physical fitness had always been weak—she couldn’t even win food fights in the orphanage. In school, she was always dead last in PE.
Shen Jueshu sighed and rubbed her cheeks a little harder. “Still, you shouldn’t rely on just being an Alpha with natural strength. What if something happens to you and you can’t even run fast?”
Sui Yu pouted and muttered, “Well, I don’t want anything to happen to my wife…”
Shen Jueshu, hearing that, leaned down and kissed her puffed-up lips. “I was just giving an example.”
Neither of them knew at the time that this “example” would soon become a reality.
—
After they both finished getting dressed, Sui Yu looked down at their coordinating outfits and smiled to herself.
So Shen Jueshu has these kinds of subtle little romantic thoughts too, huh?
When they went downstairs, they found Auntie busy in the kitchen. As they approached, she looked up a little sheepishly. Before either of them could say anything, she quickly blurted out:
“I’m the one who moved your things into the same room. I didn’t ask for your permission, so if you’re upset, I understand.”
She had practically watched Sui Yu grow up, and seeing the two of them bicker for days had left her feeling just as anxious.
“Auntie, we’re not upset,” Sui Yu said, her cheeks turning pink. “Thank you… really.”
Even if the… accessory thing had been a bit traumatizing, the room arrangement was something she’d be grateful for forever.
“Mm,” Shen Jueshu nodded. “Thank you this time. But please don’t enter our rooms again without asking.”
She wasn’t fond of people moving through her personal space.
Seeing them both in such a good mood, Auntie beamed. She agreed to everything with a cheerful heart. She figured the hardest part was over—her job here was basically done.
All that effort yesterday hadn’t been in vain.
After breakfast, the two headed off to work. But as they pulled into the parking garage under the company building, Sui Yu noticed something… off.
Not far away, a man stepped out of a car.
Sui Yu froze slightly.
Wasn’t that the Alpha she’d seen at the club?
What’s he doing here?
