Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 43.2
“We should come again sometime,” Shen Jueshu said as she took in the view. Even if the food turned out to be average, the atmosphere alone was worth a second visit.
“Mm-hmm!” Sui Yu nodded enthusiastically. “Actually, I was thinking… we should try all the couple’s restaurants in Linhai together!”
When you really love someone, you want to share all the meaningful experiences with them.
“Alright,” Shen Jueshu replied, smiling as she looked at her. “Let’s do that.”
Sui Yu was seriously thinking about their future together.
Once all the dishes arrived, Sui Yu poured them each a glass of wine. She raised her glass with a bashful expression and said, “Today is our first day officially dating, so there’s something I want to tell you.”
“Oh? What is it?” Shen Jueshu asked, not lifting her glass just yet.
Seeing her hesitation, Sui Yu slowly set her own glass down too. A bit embarrassed, she said, “I might not be very good at this whole dating thing. There’s a lot I don’t know… so I hope you’ll be patient with me going forward.”
“If I mess up, I want you to be honest and tell me,” she added, head lowering. “You always say I’m slow, right? I am. So if I get something wrong, I’ll need you to point it out.”
“Because if you expect me to guess… I’ll probably guess wrong. And I don’t want you to be upset.”
Hearing that, Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but laugh softly. “But I’ve never dated anyone before either. I don’t know how to be perfect at this either. So we’ll both have to work on it—mutual understanding and patience.”
No one’s born knowing how to be the perfect partner. At least, Shen Jueshu didn’t think she was.
Sui Yu smiled and looked up into her gentle eyes. “Then… let’s be honest with each other, okay? Whatever it is, let’s always communicate. No bottling things up, no misunderstandings… alright?”
Her gaze was sincere. She had seen enough books and movies where even the most perfect couples fell apart because of misunderstandings. She didn’t want that to happen to them.
If they were ever torn apart by something that could have been resolved with a conversation, she wouldn’t be able to take it.
“Okay,” Shen Jueshu said seriously. “I promise.”
Sui Yu broke into a wide, dazzling smile. Her eyes sparkled.
Looking at her like this, Shen Jueshu’s mind flashed with the image of a grinning golden retriever—tail wagging furiously behind her.
Adorable, she thought.
It was almost funny. Sui Yu’s face had all the traits of a strong, dashing Alpha—sharp, confident features that didn’t scream “cute” in the slightest. And yet, somehow, she couldn’t look more lovable to her right now.
After dinner, since they’d both had some wine, Sui Yu booked a designated driver to take them home.
When they got out of the car, Sui Yu tipped the designated driver a little extra—it was a hassle to get back down from this halfway-up-the-mountain home.
Once inside, she looked around their shared marital house, and something in her chest shifted.
This… was home now.
Her home.
Their home.
She had a home now—with Shen Jueshu.
“You… what’s wrong?” Shen Jueshu asked gently, sensing something.
Sui Yu turned to her, eyes shimmering with tears, vision slightly blurred. Her voice was soft. “I have a home now.”
Hearing that, a sudden ache gripped Shen Jueshu’s heart. She remembered what Sui Yu had told her before—about growing up in an orphanage.
She stepped forward and pulled Sui Yu into her arms, murmuring, “Yes… we have a home now.”
Before, this house had never truly felt like home to either of them. But now, in this moment, its meaning had changed.
Tears spilled silently down Sui Yu’s cheeks. After drifting alone for more than twenty years, she had finally found a place that belonged to her.
“Promise you won’t leave me,” she whispered, burying her face in Shen Jueshu’s neck. “Please.”
It had taken so much just to find someone she liked. To finally have a home. She didn’t want to lose it.
“I won’t,” Shen Jueshu replied firmly, tightening her embrace. From the moment she realized she loved her, she’d never once thought about letting Sui Yu go—let alone leaving her.
That promise calmed Sui Yu. But she also felt a little self-conscious for getting so emotional.
Like an ostrich, she kept her face hidden, refusing to look up. Shen Jueshu stroked her head gently, soothing her like a nervous animal.
Now, at last, she could openly and justifiably hold her Alpha close—soothing every trace of fear.
They stayed like that for a long time.
Eventually, Sui Yu pulled away, a little embarrassed. She wiped at her eyes and mumbled, “Let’s go rest.”
Seeing her like this, Shen Jueshu hesitated. There was something she wanted to say—but she swallowed it. Would it be too soon? Would it make me seem… too eager?
In the end, they parted ways at the staircase and each opened their respective bedroom doors.
But as soon as Shen Jueshu opened hers, she sensed something was off.
There was a disturbance in the room.
“Ahhh!” A sudden shriek rang out from Sui Yu’s side.
Shen Jueshu rushed over. Sui Yu was frozen at the doorway of her room, staring inside in shock.
“What’s wrong?” Shen Jueshu asked. Once she got close enough to look inside, she understood exactly why Sui Yu was stunned.
Sui Yu’s room… was nearly empty. Everything that belonged to her was gone.
She turned to Shen Jueshu in horror. “What kind of psycho breaks in and steals everything?!”
Even the clothes she’d left lying around from last night had disappeared!
Shen Jueshu: “…”
Her brows furrowed. Thinking back, she had noticed some unfamiliar items in her room earlier.
Her face stiffened as she grabbed Sui Yu’s hand and pulled her toward her own room.
“Hey—what are you doing?” Sui Yu stumbled a little but followed her in confusion.
When they reached Shen Jueshu’s door and looked inside, it all became clear.
There were suddenly a lot of things in her room that didn’t belong to her.
Shen Jueshu: “…”
Sui Yu: “…”
They exchanged a silent look.
Walking inside, Shen Jueshu spotted a piece of paper pressed under a glass on the nightstand. She picked it up.
Ladies,
I helped you move your things together. You’re married now—how can you live apart long term? It’s bad for the relationship. Now that you’re truly wife and wife, fight by the pillow and make up at the foot of the bed. Don’t let temper get in the way of love.
I hope you won’t blame me for making this decision for you.
—Your Auntie
After reading the message, they finally understood what had happened. Their recent arguments had clearly been noticed by the housekeeper, and she had taken it upon herself to give them a gentle push.
Sui Yu was equal parts flustered and amused. Looking around the room—her belongings neatly organized alongside Shen Jueshu’s—she suddenly felt like thanking the housekeeper.
No need for excuses or awkward requests to move in together. Auntie had already done it for them.
“So… what now?” Sui Yu asked, a bit shy. Everything had already been moved—wouldn’t it be weird to haul it all back again? Besides, now that they were officially together… wasn’t sharing a room kind of expected?
Even if… it was a little soon.
Shen Jueshu looked at the room, clearly holding back a smile. She didn’t blame the housekeeper at all for this little stunt.
“Let’s stay,” she said, trying to keep her voice casual.
“I’ll go shower then!” Sui Yu replied quickly.
She opened the closet and found her clothes already hanging inside—perfectly arranged, taking up exactly half the space next to Shen Jueshu’s.
She couldn’t help the smile that curved her lips as she grabbed a change of clothes and headed to the bathroom. Even her bath products had been neatly placed on the shelf.
Auntie really is thorough!
Once she disappeared into the bathroom, a blush crept up Shen Jueshu’s cheeks as well. She had thought about bringing up the idea of sharing a room—but some trace of Omega pride had stopped her from saying anything. And now, thanks to Auntie, it was settled.
She began organizing Sui Yu’s things, noticing how the once-distinct lines between their belongings had disappeared. The bottles and jars on the vanity were arranged together, looking aesthetically pleasing. The clothes in the closet were color-sorted, their items side by side, indistinguishable in ownership.
By the time Sui Yu came out, she had changed into a black satin camisole nightdress. Her pale skin contrasted against the dark fabric, making her look even more alluring.
“Uh… you go shower too,” Sui Yu mumbled, slightly flustered.
“Alright,” Shen Jueshu replied, her voice tightening. Her throat felt dry.
Wait a second… when did she start wearing nightgowns? Shen Jueshu wondered. She remembered offering her one before—only to be told Sui Yu wasn’t used to them.
After Shen Jueshu went into the bathroom, Sui Yu started drying her hair. Once she was done, she tidied up the room, mimicking what Shen Jueshu had done earlier. But even after that, she still felt a little restless, so she busied herself organizing the little nook she’d always treated as her “spot” in Shen Jueshu’s room. She fluffed the throw pillows, patting them into place.
When Shen Jueshu came out of the bathroom, she paused at the sight of Sui Yu sitting cross-legged on the couch. A hint of hesitation crept into her voice. “…Are you planning to sleep over there?”
We’ve come this far, she thought. Don’t tell me she doesn’t want to share the bed with me?
