Shen Xubai felt like he had slept in an awkward position; his neck was aching faintly.

In the interval while brewing coffee, he zoned out for a moment.

Those pitch-black, pathological eyes were impossible to shake off.

The password was one he had just changed; it was impossible for anyone to know it, so it could only have been a dream.

It was too strange. How could he have had such a dream?

Illusory yet realistic.

And a sense of familiarity he couldn’t explain.

“Brother Shen, the coffee is ready.”

Shen Xubai shifted his gaze and reached out to receive it. “Thanks.”

Zhu Xue smiled slightly. “Didn’t you sleep well last night, Brother Shen?”

“A little.”

His phone rang.

After agreeing on a time, Shen Xubai pulled up his order history and pushed the delivery time for the mattress back by two hours, changing it to 8:00 PM.

He retrieved the data for a certain fund and bond, marked the returns and risk fluctuations, and after checking that everything was correct, sent it to the client who was following up.

By the time he finished all this, it was already 12:00 noon.

The company didn’t have a cafeteria, but there were all sorts of delicious food downstairs. Shen Xubai went to a restaurant he frequented often and ordered a simple meal.
