You Are My Omega - Chapter 105
By the time Xu Manyue arrived, Liu Lingyan’s arm had already been treated. The bright red stains on her white shirt burned into Xu Manyue’s eyes, and her vision turned red with tears. She rushed forward and wrapped her arms tightly around the Omega she had almost lost.
“Liu Lingyan, I’m all dirty,” Liu Lingyan said softly, her voice trembling.
Xu Manyue heard the fear in her voice. Despite the words, Liu Lingyan’s hands clung tightly to her. Xu Manyue could feel it. Liu Lingyan, just like her, was terrified.
“You’re not dirty.”
Her reply was short and hoarse, full of emotion.
Liu Lingyan had been truly frightened. Even after they got home, her body was still trembling. Xu Manyue was shaken too. She kept holding her, refusing to let go. The bloodstains on Liu Lingyan’s shirt had smeared onto her own clothes. They both looked worn out and distressed.
“Master, Madam, you should go shower and change your clothes. It’s almost time for your daughter to get out of school. You promised to pick her up today,” the housekeeper gently reminded them.
Her words were both a reminder and an attempt to help them shift their focus. No one in the house could bear to see them like this.
When they heard the mention of their daughter, they began to regain some clarity. But Xu Manyue still couldn’t bring herself to loosen her grip. She had been truly scared.
She had seen the crash site photos. She knew how badly the bodyguard who protected Liu Lingyan was injured. The accident was severe. Other than Liu Lingyan and one or two others who escaped with minor injuries, everyone else was either badly hurt or already declared dead.
“I want to take a shower,” Liu Lingyan finally said. After calming down, she realized how filthy she was. Her shirt was stained with blood and dust, and the strong smell made her feel sick.
“Alright,” Xu Manyue replied, but her hands still did not let go.
Liu Lingyan leaned into her. Her body was weak, and part of her didn’t want to leave the warmth of Xu Manyue’s arms. After a short pause, she whispered, “We need to pick up our daughter.”
“I’ll help you. Your right arm must not get wet. It could cause an infection.”
Liu Lingyan was too surprised to speak. She had not expected Xu Manyue to say something so gentle and attentive.
Xu Manyue lowered her head and pressed it into Liu Lingyan’s shoulder.
“Lingyan, I can’t lose you.”
She felt something wet on her shoulder. Tears welled in Liu Lingyan’s eyes. She heard the broken, vulnerable tone in Xu Manyue’s voice and raised a faint smile.
“Manyue, you didn’t lose me. I’m safe. We’re both safe. Let’s stay well, together.”
“Yes. Let’s take care of each other and stop fighting.”
They were a family. And from now on, they would protect that.
Xu Manyue helped Liu Lingyan bathe carefully. When they came out of the bathroom, both of their faces were flushed. The scent of Alpha and Omega pheromones filled the air, thick and entwined.
If they hadn’t remembered that they still needed to pick up their daughter, neither of them would have had the strength to pull away from the desire between them.
Meanwhile, Fantuan waited eagerly at school for the day to end. As soon as class was dismissed, she packed her bag and sprinted toward the school gate. Today was a special day. Both Mommy and Mama had promised to pick her up.
The moment she stepped outside, she spotted them.
They were standing together, hands clasped tightly, looking at each other with such tenderness that Fantuan stopped in her tracks. Her steps slowed without her realizing.
She felt confused.
Even though Mommy had returned home and they were living together again, Fantuan had sensed that things weren’t the same between her mothers. They were polite, too polite. There was none of the warmth and affection she remembered.
But today was different.
Her moms looked at each other with love, completely wrapped in their own world. They didn’t even notice that she had come out of the school gate.
That familiar feeling of being forgotten returned.
Fantuan sighed to herself. She could already imagine how things would go from here. Now that Mommy and Mama were back on track, she would probably go back to being the little girl who sometimes got left behind when they were too wrapped up in each other.
“Master, Madam, Little Miss is out,” the driver finally spoke up, breaking the moment.
They had forgotten about Fantuan.
Xu Manyue and Liu Lingyan snapped out of their daze and turned to see Fantuan standing in front of them, resting her chin in her hand with an exaggerated look of helplessness.
Under her knowing gaze, Xu Manyue gave a sheepish smile.
“Fantuan, Mommy and Mama are here to take you home.”
Compared to Liu Lingyan, Xu Manyue was managing to stay much calmer.
After getting in the car, Xu Manyue helped Liu Lingyan remove her mask. Fantuan quickly noticed something unusual.
“Mama, why do you look so pale? Did something happen? Are you feeling sick?” she asked in concern. Her small hands hovered uncertainly, afraid of touching a spot that might hurt her.
“Mama is alright. Something happened earlier, but everything is fine now,” Liu Lingyan said, gently patting her head.
“Did you hurt your right arm?” Fantuan asked quickly. She had noticed that Mommy was carefully holding Mama’s hand the whole time.
“Mama did injure her hand, but don’t worry. Mommy will take care of her properly,” Xu Manyue said, understanding the signal from Liu Lingyan.
In truth, during the bath earlier, it was only because of that injury that Xu Manyue had been able to maintain her final bit of rationality in the face of the Omega’s pheromones.
“How did you get hurt?” Fantuan still looked worried.
“It was just a small accident. I wasn’t careful. Nothing serious,” Liu Lingyan said. She didn’t want her daughter to worry and deliberately avoided the details.
Fantuan could tell that Mama was not telling the full truth. She felt a little frustrated but didn’t continue pressing.
If this had happened before, when Mama didn’t have Mommy by her side, Fantuan definitely would not have let it go. But now that they were together again, she trusted that Mommy would take care of Mama. Even though she didn’t like being kept in the dark, she still felt reassured.
Since Liu Lingyan’s injury was on her right arm and she wasn’t left-handed, even simple tasks had become very difficult.
Because of this, Xu Manyue had a perfectly valid reason to stay by her side at all times and take care of her.
At first, they were still a little reserved.
But gradually, that distance disappeared completely.
“You like this, right? Let me feed you a bite.” Xu Manyue gently scooped just the right amount of rice and added Liu Lingyan’s favorite dish on top. She carefully brought the spoon to her lips, making it easy for Liu Lingyan to eat it all in one bite.
“You shouldn’t just focus on me. You need to eat too,” Liu Lingyan said, pouting slightly.
“Alright, alright. Once you eat this bite, I’ll eat too.”
After feeding her another spoonful, Xu Manyue casually ate a few bites of plain rice. It wasn’t until Liu Lingyan began frowning that she finally picked up a few pieces of meat and ate them too.
“Is it good?” Xu Manyue asked.
“It’s delicious,” Liu Lingyan replied with a smile. “Especially since it’s you feeding me. It tastes even better than usual. I have such an appetite today.”
Across the table, Fantuan sat watching them from her seat. The entire time, she had been witnessing her mothers shamelessly showing affection in front of her. She glanced down at the plain white rice in her bowl and lowered her head silently.
As expected, everything had gone exactly the way she thought it would.
Now that Mommy and Mama had made up, it was like she no longer existed.
At this moment, she missed her two aunts terribly. No, wait—that wasn’t quite right.
If both aunts were here, wouldn’t that mean she would be watching two pairs of people showing off their affection? She would be force-fed twice as much dog food.
Fantuan stared speechlessly at the ceiling.
Still, despite everything, Fantuan was truly happy to see her mothers so in love again. Her birthday wish this year had been simple.
She had wished for their family to be whole again, and for them to be happy together.
Originally, Lin Xinyi and Xu Shijiu had planned to stay at the villa until it was almost time for the baby to be born. That way, her sister and Liu Lingyan could have more time alone together. But as soon as news of the car accident broke, they packed up and returned home without hesitation.
Liu Lingyan was a public figure, and the young actress from the Xu Corporation who had sadly died in the accident also had a large fanbase. The internet was in an uproar.
Even after calling home and hearing that everything was fine, Lin Xinyi and Xu Shijiu couldn’t relax. They decided to return anyway. When they walked in and saw Liu Lingyan and Xu Manyue practically glued to each other on the sofa, they honestly doubted their eyes.
“Liu Lingyan, how’s your hand? Nothing serious, right? Other than your arm, are you hurt anywhere else?”
Xu Shijiu helped Lin Xinyi to the sofa and immediately began asking with concern.
“I’m fine. Why did you rush back?” Liu Lingyan replied, sounding a little helpless. She truly wasn’t seriously hurt.
“We were just too worried about you,” Lin Xinyi said. Her gaze moved back and forth between Liu Lingyan and Xu Manyue. “Sister, Liu Lingyan… what’s going on with you two?”
“We just figured things out,” Xu Manyue replied with a soft smile.
They had simply come to a realization.
They realized they didn’t have to keep punishing themselves for the mistakes of the previous generation. They realized there was no point in continuing to hurt each other. They finally understood what it meant to cherish someone.
Even though Xu Manyue still often thought about the guilt she carried, she no longer wanted that guilt to leave only regrets in what little time life gave them. She didn’t want to look back one day and find that all she had were memories of pain and distance.
Liu Lingyan had asked Xu Manyue many times what her father had said to her during their private conversation. She wanted to know what had caused such a sudden shift in her mindset. But Xu Manyue never gave her an answer.
To this day, Liu Lingyan still didn’t know. But she no longer felt the need to force it.
There are many paths that lead home. No matter how you walk them, if you belong under the same roof, you will find your way back together in the end.
Family members who once drifted apart had finally found their way back to each other.
