Yet, This Evil God Only Knows How to Draw Cards - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Su Ye woke up in a terrifying, scorching heat, feeling as though his head were splitting apart.
He tried to open his eyes, but everything before him was complete darkness; it seemed to make little difference whether he opened them or not.
Worse still, Su Ye found that he couldn’t even stretch his body. It felt as if his body had been folded into many segments and then stuffed tightly into an incredibly small space, leaving not even a sliver of extra room to move.
Fortunately, before Su Ye could spiral into panic or wild speculation due to the situation, cognition flowed into his brain like warm water, allowing him to understand his current plight.
The first point to be clear about was: he was already dead.
After death, Su Ye’s soul had accidentally drifted into this world and, by some miracle, merged with it, gaining a foothold—namely, this body he was currently using.
This was a fantasy world, strange and bizarre, far removed from Su Ye’s previous life. The entire world was divided into three layers: above the heavens was the residence of the Righteous Gods, beneath the earth was the domain of the Evil Gods, and the part between heaven and earth belonged to the mortal realm.
The definitions of “Righteous God” and “Evil God” had nothing to do with good or evil. If a deity’s abilities had a positive, constructive impact on human daily life, they were a Righteous God. If they were meaningless to humans, or even posed a threat or harm, they were an Evil God.
To the deities, this was merely a way of categorization; their essence was the same, and none of them cared. Just as humans do not care about the thoughts of ants, in the eyes of gods, how humans categorized them—whether through faith or resentment—was entirely inconsequential.
And Su Ye was a deity.
After gaining this basic cognition, Su Ye also roughly understood his situation. After all, many gods in mythological stories possessed non-human original forms. Presumably, it was no different in this other world. He might very well be a creature of a different shape now.
Su Ye tried to move his body, feeling that his current environment very much resembled an egg.
So, he was now oviparous.
However, his body didn’t feel like a bird’s; what could he be… a crocodile? A snake? Surely it couldn’t be a frog?
But Su Ye soon had no time to consider these things.
The surrounding temperature was getting higher and higher. Su Ye felt that if he didn’t take some kind of action, he would certainly be suffocated or roasted alive in this narrow, airtight space.
Out of a survival instinct, Su Ye began his self-rescue. He summoned all his strength and slammed hard against one side, only to find that the eggshell enveloping him possessed a certain flexibility, making his efforts largely ineffective.
So Su Ye opened his mouth and attempted to tear and bite at the flexible outer shell surrounding him.
This measure was undoubtedly successful. Su Ye could feel his teeth slicing through something, and a few rays of light leaked in from the opening. Su Ye hurried to seize this opportunity, continuing to tear at the eggshell, finally creating a hole large enough to crawl through.
Wriggling his body, he swam out from the small hole. But before Su Ye could get a good look at his current surroundings, a hand reached out, swift and accurate, grabbing Su Ye by the waist and lifting him up to eye level.
“Oh?”
Su Ye’s gaze met a pair of golden pupils.
They should have been a color as scorching and brilliant as the sun, yet for some reason, being stared at gave Su Ye an incredibly cold illusion.
And in the other’s pupils, he clearly saw his current appearance.
It was far better than Su Ye’s worst fears, he wasn’t a disgusting frog or toad. On the contrary, he was an exotic fantasy creature that could even be called “beautiful.”
He had silver-white fur all over, blue-purple eyes, ears like bird wings, and an incredibly soft tail that was even longer than his body.
The owner of the golden eyes staring at Su Ye curved his brow. Because they were very close, Su Ye could see flashes of surprise in the depths of the other’s eyes.
“So it wasn’t a dead egg after all.” The other remarked.
But Su Ye had no time to pay attention to what he was saying; instead, he began to thrash and struggle.
Be a human! Why are you putting me in a pot of boiling water again?! Didn’t you just say I wasn’t a dead egg!
Seeing the bubbling pot below getting closer and closer, Su Ye, out of survival instinct, bit down hard on the finger pinching him. He bit tightly, giving the other no chance to shake him off. At the same time, all four limbs climbed onto the other’s wrist, and even his long tail coiled tightly around the young man’s arm.
Don’t even think about throwing him into that boiling pot!!
The red-haired, golden-eyed young man surprisingly wasn’t annoyed. He just looked at Su Ye and smiled. Unlike his hair color, which was as hot and fierce as fire, this smile made one’s heart turn cold.
“What a good set of teeth.” The young man sneered. “If I had known you weren’t a dead egg, I wouldn’t have made a boiled egg. A hot oil pan would have been a better match for you.”
The moment Su Ye looked into his eyes, he knew clearly that this person was serious. The man was smiling on the surface, but the cold killing intent in his eyes was not hidden in the slightest.
He sincerely and cold-bloodedly wanted him dead.
But he was just an egg that hatched today! In human terms, he was a newborn baby! What kind of grudge do you have against an egg!
Just as Su Ye felt his life was in danger, his vision blurred. He was no longer held captive in the red-haired young man’s hand but had fallen into another embrace.
Compared to his experience with the red-haired young man, the treatment Su Ye received now was vastly superior. He was carefully and tenderly cradled in the embrace, treated like some peerless treasure. The other person gently smoothed the fur on Su Ye’s back and body, the overflowing love could be felt in even the smallest movements.
“Shuloel. This time, you have truly gone too far.” The blond god holding Su Ye spoke slowly. Although his tone was calm, it carried an innate authority.
Only then did Su Ye have the chance to properly look at what his savior—who had rescued him from fire and water… or rather, the pot—looked like.
He was undoubtedly an extraordinarily handsome god. Long light-golden hair, brilliant golden eyes, and features so perfectly carved it was as if they had been painstakingly calculated line by line. Combined, these should have been a sharp, aggressive beauty, but the air about him was a peace settled by the washing of time, which softened that aggression, making him like a piece of peerless jade.
When you saw him, you would instinctively think of the sun in the sky, brilliant and dazzling.
At this moment, this sun-like god lowered his eyes, carefully checking Su Ye’s ears, claws, and fur. Only after confirming he was safe and sound and had suffered no harm did he finally breathe a sigh of relief.
However, the red-haired god called “Shuloel” only watched this scene coldly, completely indifferent to the previous accusation: “Tonatiuh, why be so serious? I was merely playing a small joke with this child.”
His gaze landed on Su Ye: “Besides, you’ve guarded this egg for tens of thousands of years without any movement. Didn’t you also suspect it was a dead egg? My actions actually helped this little fellow hatch and be born successfully. Both you and he should be thanking me.”
His skin was likely thicker than the corner of a city wall. He could say such things that turned black into white while remaining expressionless and self-righteous. Su Ye was certainly shocked.
Tonatiuh gently stroked Su Ye’s fur and skillfully scratched Su Ye’s chin, much like petting a cat. Su Ye couldn’t control his body’s instinctive reaction; he subconsciously tilted his head back, making a purring sound in his throat.
A bit more, a bit harder, a bit to the side… ah, yes, that’s exactly the right angle and pressure…
He didn’t know it himself, but to outsiders, Su Ye looked intoxicated, as if he were about to roll over and show his belly in comfort.
“Shuloel.” Although Tonatiuh was petting the cat… no, petting Su Ye, his cold tone questioning Shuloel was the complete opposite of his gentle movements toward Su Ye. “Breaking into my palace without permission, stealing the next [Sun], and even intending to harm them.”
“Shuloel, do you know your crime!”
Su Ye struggled to claw back a few shreds of logic from Tonatiuh’s petting technique.
Eh? What?
Is he talking about him?
Su Ye was suddenly filled with horror.
But that’s not right! His memory clearly told him that he was supposed to be an Evil God!
