Why Does First Love Feel This Sweet? - Chapter 24
Chapter 24
After shopping with Tang Yun, Sheng Yi felt like he only had half a life left. Once home, he was pulled into the family group chat, where relatives showered him with a mountain of digital red envelopes. Clicking them until his fingers were sore, Sheng Yi felt as if he’d been reborn into a perfect, harmonious life—a gift carefully prepared by Rong Yu.
While daydreaming at his desk, his phone buzzed. It was Rong Yu’s younger cousin, Yang Yue, seeking a “sister-in-law emergency.” She was struggling to chat with the “cold and aloof” Ling Ye, who responded to her enthusiastic messages with nothing but “1” slang for “got it”.
Sheng Yi, checking his own feed, saw that Ling Ye had posted a video of seven adorable Labrador puppies. When Sheng Yi liked the post, the “aloof” artist immediately messaged him: “Want a dog? I’ll give you one.”
Sheng Yi, wanting to help his sister-in-law, arranged to visit Ling Ye’s house the next day to pick a puppy, inviting Yang Yue along. Excited, she declared, “From now on, you’re my brother and Rong Yu is my sister-in-law!”
…
The Demon Tutor Returns
At 8:00 PM, Rong Yu returned from the hospital and found Sheng Yi asleep at his desk. As he leaned in to carry him to bed, Sheng Yi’s phone lit up with messages from Ling Ye: What time tomorrow? Give me a heads-up before you come.
Rong Yu paused, his hands slipping into his pockets as he watched the screen. Sheng Yi woke up, rubbing his eyes, and pulled Rong Yu into a hug. “I was waiting to eat with you.”
“I’ll tutor you after dinner,” Rong Yu replied softly. Sheng Yi felt a sudden chill, remembering the “demon tutoring” sessions of high school.
After dinner, the atmosphere in the study turned grave. Rong Yu, hair still damp from his shower, set a mock exam in front of Sheng Yi and a timer for two hours. “Start.”
The pressure was silent and suffocating. Halfway through, the phone buzzed loudly. “Turn it off,” Rong Yu said coldly. Sheng Yi shoved it into a drawer without looking.
When the timer went off, Sheng Yi hadn’t finished the physics section. Rong Yu began grading with a red pen. Sheng Yi, noticing how clean and sexy Rong Yu looked after his shower, decided to push his luck. He slid a hand onto Rong Yu’s leg, tapping the deep grey fabric.
“Teacher Xiao Yu,” Sheng Yi whispered mischievously, “was yesterday… comfortable?”
Rong Yu’s pen paused.
Sheng Yi smirked, feeling a surge of rebellious confidence. He moved his fingers higher. “How about we learn… something else?”
Rong Yu pinned the unruly hand down, his eyes darkening. “What do you want to learn?”
“I’ll learn whatever you teach,” Sheng Yi murmured suggestively.
Rong Yu stood him up. “Lean over the desk.”
Sheng Yi’s heart hammered. He leaned over, his face heating up. Is it really happening? Right here? This soon? He turned back nervously. “Wait, Teacher, maybe we should find a better place—”
PA!
A sharp smack landed on his backside. Sheng Yi let out a shocked gasp, his face turning crimson.
“Three mistakes in multiple choice, two blank essay questions,” Rong Yu’s voice was like ice. He dropped the paper in front of him. “Fix them. While standing.”
