- Chapter 53 - Come See Me Tonight, I’ll Leave a Window Open for You.
Jiang Huaiyan’s eyes looked as if they were about to split open with rage.
Father Xiao dragged Zhou Yunqiu backward, the sharp tip of the knife scraping against his slender, white neck. With just a slight movement, blood immediately began to surface.
Zhou Yunqiu’s face was pale with fright, his entire body trembling.
“Don’t be impulsive! I’ll have Xiao Yi released right now! Just don’t hurt Qiuqiu!” Jiang Huaiyan’s voice cracked with intense nervousness.
“Call now and release Xiao Yi, or I’ll make him be buried alongside my son!” Father Xiao had lost his earlier air of pitiful pleading; all that remained was the madness of a man driven to a dead end.
“Release him first!”
“You call first!” Father Xiao continued furiously, “Send Xiao Yi to the location I’ve arranged, then prepare a sum of money so he can leave safely.”
“I promise!” Jiang Huaiyan agreed without a second thought. He immediately pulled out his phone and called his subordinates, ordering them to prepare the money and take Xiao Yi to the location Father Xiao specified.
Seeing Jiang Huaiyan being so obedient, Father Xiao suddenly burst into a manic laugh. “It seems the rumors outside aren’t false; you and Zhou Yunqiu really are involved with each other.”
“I’ve done as you asked,” Jiang Huaiyan said, his eyes bloodshot and his voice ice-cold. If looks could kill, he would have hacked Father Xiao into a thousand pieces by now.
“Fine. As long as you kneel before me, I’ll release him.” Knowing that he wouldn’t have a good ending regardless, Father Xiao decided to go completely insane.
Jiang Huaiyan’s gaze turned even colder.
Father Xiao pressed the knife harder.
Zhou Yunqiu gasped, yet his eyes remained exceptionally firm as he looked at Jiang Huaiyan. “Don’t you dare kneel.”
“If he doesn’t kneel, you die. He isn’t going to let me go anyway!” Father Xiao applied more pressure, glaring at Jiang Huaiyan. “Are you going to kneel or not?!”
Fresh red blood began to seep from the wound.
Jiang Huaiyan’s heart twisted in pain, his deep eyes filled with panic. He instinctively wanted to release his Alpha pheromones to crush Father Xiao, but his glands refused to obey—he was unable to release any pheromones at all.
And Zhou Yunqiu was right in Father Xiao’s hands.
In truth, he had a hundred ways to subdue Father Xiao at this moment, but all of them carried risks. That cold, sharp weapon could slit Zhou Yunqiu’s throat at any second. He could not allow Zhou Yunqiu to face any degree of risk.
So what if he had to kneel? Compared to Zhou Yunqiu, his dignity meant nothing at this moment.
Zhou Yunqiu saw through Jiang Huaiyan’s intentions immediately. His heart ached as if pierced by needles, and he shouted in anger, “Jiang Huaiyan, I forbid you to kneel!”
Jiang Huaiyan took a deep breath and prepared to bend his knees.
“Jiang Huaiyan!”
Zhou Yunqiu suddenly released a surge of Omega pheromones. The thick scent of lime instantly flooded Father Xiao’s nose. Being an Alpha, Father Xiao’s mind went momentarily blank upon smelling the pheromones.
Before he could react, Zhou Yunqiu grabbed his hand and gave it a violent twist.
Jiang Huaiyan, quick as lightning, rushed forward. He snatched Zhou Yunqiu from the path of the blade, pulling him behind his back, and then sent Father Xiao flying with a single kick.
Standing behind Jiang Huaiyan, Zhou Yunqiu clutched his bleeding neck, gasping for air. Thank God, thank God, I’m still alive. My head is still safely on my neck.
Once he recovered his strength, Zhou Yunqiu hurriedly grabbed the frantic Jiang Huaiyan.
“Stop hitting him! Let the police handle it!” He didn’t want to see Jiang Huaiyan detained because of him again.
However, Jiang Huaiyan had lost all reason; Zhou Yunqiu couldn’t hold him back for the moment. He could only soften his voice and cry out, “Jiang Huaiyan, my neck hurts.”
Hearing this, Jiang Huaiyan stopped instantly. He turned around and nervously covered Zhou Yunqiu’s neck, which had already stopped bleeding. “Qiuqiu, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. You’ll be fine.”
His worried voice was laced with a tremor, and the hand covering Zhou Yunqiu’s neck was shaking slightly.
Sensing Jiang Huaiyan’s panic, Zhou Yunqiu reached out to touch his pale face. “I’m okay, don’t worry. It’s just a small scratch.”
“To the hospital. We’re going to the hospital.”
“No need, you just need to help me bandage it.” He could feel exactly how deep the wound was.
“To the hospital!” Jiang Huaiyan ignored him entirely, stubbornly ushering him into the car.
Seeing how nervous he was, Zhou Yunqiu didn’t persist, only saying helplessly, “We are at the hospital.”
Jiang Huaiyan froze for two seconds, then scooped him up and dashed toward the elevators.
Watching his frantic state, Zhou Yunqiu felt a surge of emotion in his heart. This was the second time he had seen Jiang Huaiyan lose control of his emotions because of him. The first time was when he had been kidnapped by Fang Yanting; back then, he was being held by his brother and hadn’t seen Jiang Huaiyan’s crazed expression.
But his brother told him later that it was the first time he had ever been frightened by Jiang Huaiyan’s appearance.
This time, he saw it with his own eyes. Jiang Huaiyan was willing to kneel for him. To Jiang Huaiyan, he was more important than his own dignity. This thought made Zhou Yunqiu’s heart beat wildly.
He reached out and tightly hugged Jiang Huaiyan’s neck, whispering in his ear, “Jiang Huaiyan, don’t be afraid. I’m still alive and well.”
“I’m still a living person, and I will always be the one staying by your side.
It wasn’t until they finished bandaging the wound and returned to the entrance of Zhou Yunqing’s villa that Jiang Huaiyan truly felt alive again. He pulled Zhou Yunqiu tightly into his arms, capturing his lips in a deep kiss.
This kiss was devoid of lust; it was filled only with an overflowing love. He wanted Zhou Yunqiu to know just how important he was—so important that it actually terrified him. He feared losing him; he feared being separated from him.
But Zhou Yunqiu wasn’t satisfied with just that. Since Jiang Huaiyan was rarely the one to take the lead, he excitedly began to let his hands wander all over Jiang Huaiyan.
Jiang Huaiyan’s breathing turned ragged from the provocation. He pinned down the mischievous hands and gasped, “Qiuqiu, you’re still injured.”
“It doesn’t affect me at all.”
“But…”
“No more ‘buts.’ Hurry up, or my brother will come down to catch me.” Having said that, Zhou Yunqiu excitedly unbuckled his seatbelt and climbed onto Jiang Huaiyan’s lap.
Jiang Huaiyan’s body ached with desire from this bold move. Just as he was about to cast all caution to the wind, a sharp thump-thump sounded against the window.
Both of them froze.
Zhou Yunqiu glared through the window at Zhou Yunqing with dissatisfaction, climbing off Jiang Huaiyan with great reluctance. Jiang Huaiyan was secretly relieved that the windows were tinted; otherwise, Zhou Yunqing probably would have skinned him alive.
Nervously, he straightened his clothes that had been crumpled by Zhou Yunqiu and unlocked the door.
Zhou Yunqing pulled the door open and immediately grabbed Zhou Yunqiu by the ear. “Get out here!”
Zhou Yunqiu howled in pain. “Brother! Ow, ow, ow! Brother…!”
“Oh, so you know what pain is now? Why didn’t you think of that when someone had a knife to your throat?” Thinking of the video he had just seen, Zhou Yunqing’s fury burned even hotter. If Father Xiao had truly been ruthless, Zhou Yunqiu’s life would be over.
“I was just scared!” Zhou Yunqiu pitifully hugged Zhou Yunqing’s waist. “Brother, I’m really hurting. Aren’t you going to care about my neck at all?”
Zhou Yunqing glanced at the bandaged neck and sneered. “You won’t die.”
“Brother you’re so heartless!”
“I can be even more heartless.” As he spoke, Zhou Yunqing kicked Zhou Yunqiu toward his room. “Stay in your room and don’t even think about coming out without my permission.” With a loud bang, he slammed the door shut.
“Huh? Brother, don’t! I’ll be good, Brother…!” Zhou Yunqiu frantically pounded on the door frame, trying to awaken his brother’s conscience.
To his dismay, no matter how much he pounded, it was useless. His brother was a total tyrant! He didn’t act like an Omega at all!
How was he supposed to find Jiang Huaiyan if he was locked up like this? He had been so close to “eating meat” just now, and now he was starving.
But he soon had a new plan. He directly sent several provocative, sexy photos he had taken previously to Jiang Huaiyan: “Come see me tonight. I’ll leave a window open for you. No saying no.”
