- Chapter 30 - Little Young Master, a Goodnight Kiss is Not a Deep Kiss
Jiang Huaiyan looked down and replied to the message: [Are you looking for a death wish?]
“Who do you think I am? With my status, it’s impossible for him to actually kill me,” Duan Mingxu replied, clearly not fearing death.
[Don’t play with fire.]
“I actually really want to play with this particular fire.”
Jiang Huaiyan: “…”
“Hurry up and send me his contact information. Your brother’s happiness depends entirely on you.”
Jiang Huaiyan hesitated for a moment but ultimately sent Zhou Yunqing’s contact details to Duan Mingxu. He had given his warnings; if Duan Mingxu refused to listen, there was nothing more he could do.
After getting off the plane, the group headed straight to the hospital to see Zhou Yushen. Fortunately, Zhou Yushen had once again successfully withstood the threat of death. Only after the two brothers confirmed he was stable did they dare return home to rest; by now, it was already late into the night.
Zhou Yunqiu took Jiang Huaiyan back to his own villa. He didn’t want to live with his elder brother—he was constantly being interrupted and lectured there. He preferred living alone, where he could tease Jiang Huaiyan to his heart’s content every day.
The moment they stepped through the door, he impatiently pushed Jiang Huaiyan down onto the sofa.
“Little Young Master…” Jiang Huaiyan’s heart rate accelerated, his breathing grew shallow, and his eyes searched Zhou Yunqiu’s nervously.
Zhou Yunqiu pinned him against the cushions, a seductive smile playing on his lips. “Now, it’s just the two of us.”
“It’s very late,” Jiang Huaiyan said, holding his breath.
“Isn’t that perfect?” Late at night was the best time for that sort of thing.
“Jiang Huaiyan, you promised me when you left that I could dispose of you as I pleased.” Zhou Yunqiu leaned down, lightly kissing his lips. “Now, fulfill your promise.”
“Not right now.”
“The time is right, the place is right, and the people are right. Why not now?” Zhou Yunqiu grew annoyed and began a barrage of frantic kisses. His technique was messy, just a stubborn, forceful pressing of lips.
Jiang Huaiyan felt his blood reaching a boiling point under the assault. However, his rationality remained intact. “You haven’t fully recovered from your illness yet. It’s not suitable to do this kind of thing right now.”
“I say it’s suitable, so it is.”
“Don’t be reckless. You still have to go to school tomorrow.”
Hurt by this persistent rejection, Zhou Yunqiu stood up and marched upstairs, ignoring Jiang Huaiyan entirely.
Watching his retreating figure, Jiang Huaiyan let out a helpless sigh. He went into the kitchen and boiled some dumplings for Zhou Yunqiu.
By the time Zhou Yunqiu finished his shower, he was huddled gloomily under the covers. He continued to ignore Jiang Huaiyan even when the man entered the room.
“Little Young Master, I made the dumplings you like. Get up and eat some.”
“I’m not eating. Go away.” Zhou Yunqiu turned his back to him, his voice muffled as he tried to drive him out.
“The Eldest Young Master told me to stay by your side twenty-four hours a day. I can’t leave right now.”
“I’m giving you permission to leave. You don’t have to stay with me all the time. Go stay with whoever you actually want to be with.”
“There is no one else I want to be with.”
Zhou Yunqiu sat up and glared at him, his eyes rimmed red with frustration. “Then you should definitely leave, since you don’t want to be with me anyway.”
“Little Young Master…”
“Get out. I don’t want to see you.” Zhou Yunqiu flopped back onto the bed and buried his head in the pillow, leaving only a mop of soft hair visible.
Jiang Huaiyan set the bowl and chopsticks down and reached out to pick him up. Zhou Yunqiu thrashed his arms, refusing to be held.
“Little Young Master, if you don’t get up, I’m really leaving.”
“Just get out!”
“But I don’t want to leave.” Jiang Huaiyan reached out and gently ruffled the hair on the boy’s head. “Since you are here, there is nowhere else I want to go.”
Hearing those words, Zhou Yunqiu’s heart—which had felt like it was withering—suddenly began to throb wildly. He sat up, wanting to ask if the words were true, yet fearing the man would talk his way out of it.
“Get up and eat. After you’re finished, I’ll sleep here with you.”
This time, Zhou Yunqiu couldn’t hold back. He sat bolt upright, looking at him in disbelief. “Really?”
“Yes. But only sleeping.”
“I also want a goodnight kiss.”
Looking at that face, Jiang Huaiyan found it impossible to say no. “…Fine.”
“I want it now.”
“Eat first.”
Zhou Yunqiu opened his mouth with an “Ah,” signaling for Jiang Huaiyan to feed him. Jiang Huaiyan was utterly helpless. Duan Mingxu had been right; this really was his “Little Ancestor.” The boy needed to be waited on for everything, and yet Jiang Huaiyan found himself more and more willing to do it. It wasn’t a good sign, but he couldn’t stop himself.
With Jiang Huaiyan’s promise, Zhou Yunqiu ate happily. His small mouth worked away at the dumplings, chewing continuously like a little hamster. It was exceptionally cute.
“Have you eaten?” Zhou Yunqiu asked, his voice muffled by food.
“I’m not hungry.”
“I’m full. You eat the rest.” Zhou Yunqiu pushed the bowl into his hands and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Without any hint of distaste, Jiang Huaiyan finished the leftovers and cleared away the dishes. When he came out after his own shower, he found Zhou Yunqiu standing at the door with a resentful look in his eyes.
“You aren’t going to go back on your word, are you?”
“…I just finished my shower.”
“Why didn’t you shower in my room?”
“The guest room was more convenient.”
“Then hurry up. Don’t make me wait too long.” Zhou Yunqiu returned to his room to wait.
Jiang Huaiyan took a deep breath. In the guest room, he made two quick phone calls to urge the progress of the investigation, then injected himself with a dose of high-potency inhibitor before heading to Zhou Yunqiu’s room.
Zhou Yunqiu was lying obediently in bed, patting the space beside him. Jiang Huaiyan lifted a corner of the quilt and climbed in. Zhou Yunqiu immediately burrowed into his arms, clinging to him tightly as if afraid he would run away.
Catching the faint scent of lime coming from the boy, Jiang Huaiyan’s breathing involuntarily quickened.
“Your embrace is so comfortable,” Zhou Yunqiu praised.
Jiang Huaiyan gave a stiff, “Mm.”
“But why are you dressed so strictly?”
Jiang Huaiyan: “…” Was it not because he was worried about the boy turning into a predator?
“Don’t tell me you’re wearing two pairs of underwear,” Zhou Yunqiu asked seriously.
Jiang Huaiyan was moved to laughter. “Have you ever actually done something like that?”
“I really have. When my brother used to hit me as a kid, he liked to kick my butt. Every time I did something wrong, I’d dress in thick layers.”
Jiang Huaiyan couldn’t help but chuckle. Given this little troublemaker’s personality, getting beaten as a child seemed perfectly normal.
“Are you really wearing two?”
“No.” He wasn’t that anti-human yet. If Zhou Yunqiu really wanted to do something to him, wearing ten pairs wouldn’t make a difference.
“Let me check,” Zhou Yunqiu said, reaching out to investigate.
Jiang Huaiyan’s breath hitched, and he quickly caught the boy’s hands. “Behave. It’s time to sleep.”
“I don’t want to sleep; I only want to sleep with you.”
“Tonight, we are only sleeping.”
“Then can I sleep with you tomorrow?” Zhou Yunqiu blinked his large eyes, asking with extreme bluntness.
“No.”
Zhou Yunqiu wanted to say more, but his lips were suddenly silenced by Jiang Huaiyan’s kiss. He hugged Jiang Huaiyan happily, but by the time he tried to return the kiss, Jiang Huaiyan had already pulled away.
“The goodnight kiss has been given. Now, sleep.”
“No way, that kiss didn’t count!” Zhou Yunqiu pounced into his arms, grabbing his collar to force a kiss on him.
“Little Young Master, a goodnight kiss is not a deep kiss,” Jiang Huaiyan said, caught between laughter and tears.
“I don’t care, I don’t care! That one didn’t count!” Zhou Yunqiu insisted, determined to force a proper kiss.
