- Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife?
- Chapter 23 - After All, I Adore You
Jiang Huaiyan furrowed his brows and shook his head. “I don’t know. The Eldest Young Master told me to pack my things and come over first thing this morning.”
“Then he must be letting you stay here. That’s wonderful!” Zhou Yunqiu was overjoyed; he had been worrying that staying here would mean he couldn’t flirt with Jiang Huaiyan.
His brother truly was the best for sending Jiang Huaiyan right to him.
“Come on, let me show you the guest rooms. It’s best to pick one close to mine,” Zhou Yunqiu said, impatiently pulling at him.
Jiang Huaiyan stood his ground. “Little Young Master, let’s wait until the Eldest Young Master returns before we decide.”
“Why wait for him? He had you bring your things over, so you’re definitely staying.”
“What if it’s for a business trip?”
Zhou Yunqiu’s face fell instantly. “No way. You’re my bodyguard—what kind of business trip would you go on?” He hadn’t received any news about going out, so surely that wasn’t it.
“We’ll know when the Eldest Young Master returns.” Jiang Huaiyan vaguely sensed that things were not as simple as they seemed.
Unable to wait, Zhou Yunqiu called his elder brother directly. “Brother, what did you mean by sending Jiang Huaiyan over? Is it so he can keep me company?”
“He has to go on a business trip with me. Stay at my place for the next few days; there are others here to protect you,” Zhou Yunqing’s voice came through the phone.
Zhou Yunqiu refused without a second thought. “No! He’s my bodyguard; he has to stay with me.”
“Qiuqiu, this trip is a bit dangerous. His skills are excellent, and I’ll be safer with him along.”
Hearing this, Zhou Yunqiu’s heart immediately leapt into his throat. His fingers tightened around his phone. “How dangerous? Can you just not go?”
“I can’t. I can’t say how dangerous it is right now; it might even be very safe, but we must take precautions just in case.”
“Brother, I don’t want you to go.” Their father was still lying in the ICU with his fate uncertain; he didn’t want his brother to face danger as well.
“I’ll be fine. Jiang Huaiyan is a competent bodyguard.”
Zhou Yunqiu hung up and pursed his lips as he looked at Jiang Huaiyan.
Jiang Huaiyan placed his suitcase by the door and looked at Zhou Yunqiu expressionlessly. “I will protect the Eldest Young Master well.”
“You need to be careful too.” Zhou Yunqiu didn’t want anything to happen to either of them.
“Mhm.”
“Follow me.” Zhou Yunqiu suddenly grabbed his hand and led him upstairs.
Jiang Huaiyan followed with a frown. “What are we doing?”
Zhou Yunqiu didn’t answer; he just kept pulling him along. To prevent Jiang Huaiyan from escaping, once they reached the bedroom door, Zhou Yunqiu opened it and shoved him inside first.
The room was decorated in a very fresh style; one glance was enough to tell it was Zhou Yunqiu’s bedroom. Before Jiang Huaiyan could take it in, Zhou Yunqiu slammed the door shut and tackled him onto the bed.
Zhou Yunqiu quickly pinned him down. “Don’t move!”
Jiang Huaiyan: “???”
“We won’t be seeing each other for a while. You have to compensate me first.”
Hearing his words, Jiang Huaiyan felt a sense of impending doom. But Zhou Yunqiu was faster than he was, moving directly to kiss his lips.
Jiang Huaiyan’s body stiffened. He raised his hand to push Zhou Yunqiu away, but Zhou Yunqiu was prepared. He pinned Jiang Huaiyan’s hands, moving his burning lips downward to rest against the man’s sexy Adam’s apple.
Jiang Huaiyan’s blood boiled instantly, his breathing becoming ragged. “Little Young Master!”
“Just lie still and let me handle this.”
“No…”
“What do you mean ‘no’? I’m a free man now, and besides…” Zhou Yunqiu gave a wicked little smile. “Your reaction is so strong. Do you really not accept me?”
“I don’t,” Jiang Huaiyan answered without a moment’s hesitation.
Zhou Yunqiu suddenly applied pressure.
Jiang Huaiyan gasped, looking at Zhou Yunqiu in shock. “You…”
“Do you believe this Young Master could ruin you for good?”
A look of pain crossed Jiang Huaiyan’s face, yet beneath that pain was a trace of undeniable pleasure.
“What this Young Master can’t have, no one else will have either.” Zhou Yunqiu bared his teeth dangerously, feigning a fierce expression as he bit down on Jiang Huaiyan’s collarbone.
Jiang Huaiyan felt his pheromones beginning to surge. He quickly grabbed Zhou Yunqiu’s collar and forced him away.
Zhou Yunqiu held onto him like a vice, refusing to let go.
“Little Young Master, if you let go of me now, I can grant you one request.”
Zhou Yunqiu’s eyes sparkled. “Any request at all?”
“…Yes!” He had to get through this immediate crisis first.
“Then I want…” Zhou Yunqiu leaned in close to his ear and whispered a sentence.
As soon as he finished speaking, his delicate face turned bright red. A few sparks of fire flickered in Jiang Huaiyan’s eyes.
“Do you agree or not?” Zhou Yunqiu threatened.
Jiang Huaiyan took a deep breath. “I agree, but I set the time.”
“That won’t do.”
“Will you let go on your own, or do I have to knock you unconscious? The choice is yours.” Jiang Huaiyan stopped backing down. He had plenty of ways to handle the boy, but he didn’t want him to get hurt.
“You actually dare to threaten me?” Zhou Yunqiu was stunned. Was this something a bodyguard dared to do?
“I’ll count to three. One, two…”
“Fine, fine! After all, I adore you, don’t I?” Zhou Yunqiu huffed, patted Jiang Huaiyan’s handsome face, and finally let him go.
Jiang Huaiyan immediately stood up and rushed into the bathroom. Zhou Yunqiu watched his disheveled retreating figure, his brows knitting slightly. He hadn’t actually done anything else—why did it seem like he’d traumatized the man?
Moreover, the air felt a bit strange. He sniffed carefully but couldn’t quite identify the scent. However, it smelled wonderful and made him feel refreshed.
Is it the scent of laundry beads on Jiang Huaiyan’s clothes? Zhou Yunqiu couldn’t figure it out, so he simply stopped thinking about it.
In the bathroom.
Jiang Huaiyan took out a high-potency inhibitor he always carried and gave himself an injection. But the boiling sensation didn’t subside immediately, so he ruthlessly gave himself a second dose.
Only after the second injection did his body completely return to a state of calm. He leaned against the wall, eyes closed, panting in frustration. These high-potency inhibitors would lose their effectiveness before long. He needed an Omega to help regulate the chemicals in his glands that his body couldn’t metabolize on its own. He needed it badly.
But he didn’t want just any Omega. He only wanted… Zhou Yunqiu.
Did that little brat have any idea how dangerous he was being? Jiang Huaiyan could mark him at any moment, forcing him to stay by his side forever, to be possessed completely. But he couldn’t.
He leaned there, breathing heavily for a good while until his emotions settled. He took out his phone and sent a message to Duan Mingxu: “Zhou Yunqing seems to suspect me. He’s taking me on a business trip, likely to test me.”
Duan Mingxu’s reply came quickly: “Is he that sharp?”
“Mhm. Keep a close eye on his movements and make arrangements in advance.”
“Don’t worry.”
When Jiang Huaiyan stepped out, Zhou Yunqiu looked at his face with concern. “What’s wrong? You look terrible.”
“It’s nothing. The Eldest Young Master will be back soon; I’ll head out first,” Jiang Huaiyan said, preparing to leave.
Zhou Yunqiu pulled him back and reached up to feel his forehead. “You don’t have a fever, but your complexion is really off.”
