- Chapter 29 - Zerg World 29: The Other End of the Chain
Clearly, Chu Sicheng was extremely lenient toward his own prisoner. He “allowed” the other party to clean himself up before receiving his punishment, and he even went as far as offering to help.
Warm water droplets rolled down the female’s shoulders into the white bathtub. Along with the sound of splashing water, heat gradually diffused into the surroundings. The mist blurred the vision of both Zergs, causing a sense of nervousness to rise within Alex as he sat in the tub.
Perhaps it was due to the unknown nature of the impending punishment, or perhaps it was because, at this moment, he was the only one being washed by the hot water. He was completely stark naked, yet the male sitting by the tub holding the showerhead was still fully dressed; even his sleeves hadn’t been dampened by a single drop of water.
This sharp contrast made Alex feel uneasy, and an impulse surged within him to tear the male’s clothes off as well. They should sink into this together, rather than it being like this, with him being the only one struggling in a sea of desire.
“What are you thinking about?” Chu Sicheng suddenly asked.
His fingertips lightly skimmed the surface of the water, making a faint sound and disturbing the stillness of the bath. The female soaking inside couldn’t help but tense his body.
“What’s wrong? You have the nerve to react, but you don’t have the nerve to let me ask?”
The male chuckled softly, his voice laced with obvious teasing. Coupled with the movements of his palm, it caused the female’s body to tremble slightly. Perhaps because the mist in the bathroom was too thick, Alex’s vision was obstructed. With his sight forced into a weakened state, his other bodily senses became hyper-sensitive.
First was his hearing, then his sense of touch.
His tender skin was lightly brushed by the male’s cool fingers. Skin that should have cooled down somehow became even hotter. Waves of numbness washed over Alex’s body along with the rippling hot water, making it difficult for him to breathe. He subconsciously opened his mouth to gasp, while also calling out to the male whose mischief seemed to be escalating:
“Master.”
“What is it?” Chu Sicheng looked up at Alex.
It was unclear if it was the surrounding steam, but a faint pink flush had appeared on Chu Sicheng’s pale face. His lips had become more hydrated and red, and even those bright blue-grey eyes seemed stained with traces of water vapor. Under the lights, they sparkled brilliantly.
Staring into those eyes, Alex suddenly felt a sudden urge to kiss them. Perhaps it was because he had encountered too many surreal things lately, the good, the bad, the present, the future, and then there was Ferro’s remark:
“In fact, this world is just a novel, and we are all just characters with pre-determined endings.”
All of these things gave Alex a sense of unreality. Especially when facing Chu Sicheng, looking at his silhouette often produced the illusion that the other didn’t belong to this world, nor did he belong to Alex. He would eventually leave, leaving Alex unable to grasp or catch up to him.
But this sense of unease would sometimes vanish, specifically when the male gazed at him quietly. Through those blue-grey eyes, he could feel that it was truly Chu Sicheng himself looking at him. Therefore, he wanted to kiss those eyes, to make the male look at him, look only at him, and look at him forever.
The hand Chu Sicheng used to hold the showerhead was suddenly gripped forcefully by the female. His grip instinctively loosened, and the showerhead fell into the bathtub. Without anyone controlling it, the silver-white metal hose acted like a twisting snake. As it flipped back and forth, it churned the bathwater into a mess and completely drenched the male sitting by the tub.
White silk pajamas clung tightly to his body, faintly revealing the fair skin beneath. The buttons were haphazardly torn open during the fumbling, and his fluffy hair was casually swept back after being wetted. Those beautiful blue-grey eyes were finally fully revealed to Alex, along with his entire being.
“Wasn’t it agreed that this was your punishment?” Chu Sicheng leaned back against the edge of the tub. He looked up at the female who had pulled him into the water and trapped him between the tub and his own body. Though his words were accusatory, there was no trace of anger in his tone.
He had permitted this act of indulgence, even though Alex was the prisoner who was supposed to be punished. This realization made Alex restless. Pheromones seemed to seep into his skin along with the steam, flowing through his blood. While his brain felt oxygen-deprived, his body grew even hotter.
“Yes,” Alex spoke slowly. “This is my punishment, so I will serve you.”
Those green eyes, which were usually cold, now seemed to hold a spring of water amidst the mist; with the slightest breeze, ripples would form. The tip of a pink tongue peeked out slightly. Chu Sicheng watched as Alex gave him a small smile before his entire body submerged completely into the hot water with a “plop.”
The same tender skin, the same instinctively trembling body; it was as if the scene from when they first entered the bathroom was playing out again in this pool of water. Except the cool fingers had been replaced, replaced by a warm, moist mouth.
Chu Sicheng lowered his eyes slightly, and a haze gradually rose in his originally bright eyes. He instinctively reached out to stroke the female’s wet hair, acting as both a reward and an encouragement. The flailing showerhead had been turned off. Aside from the occasional sound of dripping water, the bathroom was extremely quiet, so quiet that Chu Sicheng could even hear his own breathing and heartbeat.
Master, do you like this method of punishment? Or perhaps I should ask, do you like this way of punishing me?
The moist, hot sensation seemed to fall on every corner of his body. The ripples on the water’s surface grew larger with the female’s movements, surging toward the edge of the tub like waves, splashing onto the white floor and wetting the clothes scattered there. The white silk became increasingly transparent, and the moonlight outside the window grew brighter.
Alex lightly licked the corner of his lips. He reached out to grab the silver chain from the cabinet beside them, then lowered his head slightly and proactively placed the collar around his neck.
Chu Sicheng watched his actions and raised an eyebrow. “What, are you addicted to playing the prisoner?”
Alex shook his head. His voice was somewhat raspy from overusing his throat, but the sincerity in his tone was still evident:
“It’s not an act. I have always been your prisoner.”
Therefore, I willingly put on the chain, to be forever confined by your side.
But similarly, the other end of the chain, which should have been cuffed to the female’s wrist, was locked onto Chu Sicheng’s right hand with a “click.”
“You cannot leave me either.”
He was willing to be arrested by the male, but in exchange, the male had to take responsibility for him. The long chain stretched from the female’s neck to Chu Sicheng’s wrist; the slightest movement triggered a crisp clinking sound.
“May I ask, can I marry you?” Alex asked in a low voice.
Chu Sicheng laughed. “This is the first time I’ve seen someone propose with handcuffs.”
“It’s not that.” Alex lowered his head, pressing his cheek against the palm of Chu Sicheng’s cuffed right hand, and said softly: “In the hour before the trial began, I transferred all my assets to your name: money, cars, houses, and a Saxon family ring.”
Alex continued, “That ring was supposed to be on my person, but because…”
Alex didn’t finish the sentence, but Chu Sicheng understood what he meant. Because in Alex’s original plan, he hadn’t intended to survive that trial, so he had taken off the ring in advance and handed it to the executor of his estate, hoping that on the day the male received his inheritance, he could wear it on his hand, clean and undamaged.
“You were so sure I would wear it?” Chu Sicheng asked.
“I instructed him to give that ring to you separately.”
That way, even if the male didn’t like rings, he would at least try it on out of curiosity. Just that one moment would have been enough. The Alex from one hour before the trial had thought: Just that one moment would count as me marrying him.
In the dimly lit room, Alex carefully kissed the male’s ring finger. The black quilt lay loosely around their waists, acting like a clear boundary line that made the white seem whiter and the black seem blacker.
Chu Sicheng didn’t speak. He only looked down at his right hand, which was locked by Alex. The handcuff looked very thin; perhaps it wouldn’t take much effort for Chu Sicheng to break free. However, his fingertips idly toyed with the silver ring, and in the end, Chu Sicheng did not unlock the cuff.
He only said, “All your assets? Doesn’t that mean you’re a pauper now?”
“I won’t be. I’ll have my salary next month!”
“You’re not handing over your salary?”
“I am.”
“Then you’re still a pauper.”
“Then, is Master willing to support me?”
The female Zerg leaned toward Chu Sicheng, and a faint scent of citrus instantly enveloped them both like a cocoon, isolating them from the world. There was no need to care about the outside world; it was enough to focus solely on the Zerg before them.
Chu Sicheng lowered his eyes to meet Alex’s gaze.
They were so close that even in the darkness, the red marks near Alex’s mouth were visible. Chu Sicheng slowly extended a finger, originally intending only to brush against him lightly, but his fingertip was bitten by the female the moment it touched his lips. Familiar words that had been said countless times escaped his mouth instinctively:
“Are you a dog?”
Alex did not get angry but smiled instead. “Then, will Master support me?”
Chu Sicheng looked at Alex, noting the slight curve of his eyes and his parted red lips. A pink tongue peeked out from between snow-white teeth, and then, like a literal puppy, Alex gave his fingertip a light lick.
“Alright,” Chu Sicheng said faintly after a long silence. “I will support you.”
The silver chain swayed slightly, as if recounting the absurdity of this proposal. But even more absurd was that the male being proposed to actually nodded in agreement.
As the world’s plot was being repaired after the damage caused by the bug, it seemed to be heading in a direction no Zerg could have anticipated. Who would have thought that in the end, the protagonist would end up with the villain?
On the day of Chu Sicheng and Alex’s wedding, Friedrich, who had been hiding at home since the drugging incident, finally appeared. Perhaps the original main plot wanted to make one last struggle; in a deserted corridor, Friedrich blocked Chu Sicheng as he emerged from the dressing room. Looking at the other’s snow-white formal attire, his expression became even more pained.
“Is there really no chance for us? I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have let Ferro take you away, but you have to understand, I didn’t have my memories then. I didn’t know—”
“You didn’t know I would evolve into an S-class male, did you?”
Chu Sicheng spoke softly, directly cutting off Friedrich’s tragic romance script. He leaned back against the door, maintaining the same smile he had when he walked out, though it now held a touch of mockery. He seemed to be scoffing at Friedrich’s hidden motives.
“You don’t actually think that crying in front of me will make me soft-hearted enough to call off the wedding with Alex and be with you, do you?” Chu Sicheng’s smile widened. “You think too highly of yourself.”
“If you truly recognize your mistakes and want to atone,” Chu Sicheng narrowed his eyes slightly before they curved into a gentle shape, as if he were truly giving Friedrich a chance for redemption.
However, just as Friedrich’s eyes lit up, thinking a turning point had arrived, he suddenly heard the male say:
“Then go die.”
If you truly want to atone, then go die.
Go taste the suffering Ryan endured. Go experience the pain Ryan suppressed. But even then, he still would not be forgiven.
Chu Sicheng straightened up, his red lips parting as he spoke slowly:
“You don’t deserve it.”
The one who betrays affection first never deserves to be forgiven.
After a brief silence in the empty corridor, the sound of nonchalant footsteps rang out. Chu Sicheng crossed through the shadows and toward the light. Finally, at the end of the hallway, he opened the doors to the wedding hall and simultaneously wrote a different ending for this world.
“Master, let’s stay together forever, alright?”
“Forever and ever, never apart.”
Perhaps because Alex repeated this sentence every day after their marriage, even after the world’s plot ended and Chu Sicheng began his second mission, the female’s murmurs seemed to echo in his ears in a daze.
But it seemed it wasn’t just a daze.
The dim room prevented Chu Sicheng from seeing the surrounding decorations, but he could clearly perceive a familiar, surging heat within his body.
He had been drugged again. And it was right at the beginning of the plot.
The burning sensation in his throat made Chu Sicheng lick his lips. He reached out to his side, hoping to find a glass of water or something else to quench his thirst. However, whether it was because Chu Sicheng reached in the wrong direction or because the other person in the room happened to have the same thought, his hand did not find a water source. Instead, it touched another palm that was even scalding than his own.
Then, he heard that familiar voice again:
“Get out!”
Chu Sicheng: “?”
Perhaps he had been treated gently by Alex for too long, because hearing someone curse at him with Alex’s voice made him feel quite unaccustomed. Even the fingertips that had just touched the other’s palm jerked back instinctively, as if they had touched a strange, dangerous beast.
However, the person lying next to him seemed to have a very contradictory personality. Despite shouting for Chu Sicheng to get out, the moment Chu Sicheng actually moved back, the man grabbed him.
“Don’t move!”
Chu Sicheng: “So, do you want me to get out or stay still?”
This request was a bit greedy. However, due to the man’s voice being so similar to Alex’s, Chu Sicheng decided to tolerate him for one more round.
But he regretted it a second later. Before his words even faded, the man next to him—spurred by some stimulus or perhaps finally unable to endure the internal heat—found a sudden burst of strength and flipped over to pin Chu Sicheng down.
“It hurts,” Chu Sicheng heard the man mumble. “It hurts so much.”
At this moment, the man felt as if he had been thrown into a burning furnace. Heat surged toward him from all directions, and only the object beneath him radiated a faint coolness that could slightly alleviate the unbearable heat. He instinctively hugged the object tighter, greedily wanting more. He wanted it to be cooler, ideally enough to completely extinguish the fire within him.
“Help me,” the man muttered, rubbing against Chu Sicheng’s collarbone.
Perhaps feeling that that patch of skin was cooler than his own lips, under the catalyst of the drug, the man instinctively stuck out his tongue and licked it. He did it repeatedly, like he was eating delicious ice cream, unable to stop.
The wet, hot sensation made Chu Sicheng want to dodge. But before he could pull the man’s head away from his collarbone, the man sensed his intention and bit down directly on the skin he had just been licking.
“Sss—”
The sudden sharp pain made Chu Sicheng hiss.
“Are you a—”
The phrase slipped out before Chu Sicheng froze. He seemed to sense something was wrong. The moment his cursing stopped, his hand instinctively grabbed the man’s hair and, with a surge of force, he yanked the man off him.
The pain at his collarbone became more pronounced, but Chu Sicheng had no time to worry about it. He widened his eyes, trying to see the man’s face clearly. However, the combination of the drugs and their positions only allowed him to see the lower half of the man’s face, which was not covered by hair.
A cold silhouette, a high nose bridge, and those familiar, broken lips that the man had bitten himself.
No way.
This should just be a coincidence, Chu Sicheng thought, but the strength in his hands subconsciously loosened.
“It hurts,” the man mumbled again with his eyes closed. He shook his head forcefully to break free from Chu Sicheng’s grip and buried his head back into the other’s collarbone.
He seemed to like this spot very much. He was also very familiar with it, as if they had done this many times before today.
Chu Sicheng felt his neck being touched lightly. It was that same wet, soft, and hot sensation.
“Help me.”
The commanding tone lost all its deterrent power amidst the uncontrollable panting. Chu Sicheng tilted his head back. He felt the skin on his neck being pulled, making the man’s sucking and biting actions even more obvious.
“How should I help?”
Chu Sicheng finally spoke slowly. His voice was raspy, yet his tone was surprisingly calm, as if his hand wasn’t currently being dragged downward by the man and they were simply discussing a serious academic problem.
“How do you want me to help you?” Chu Sicheng asked again. At the same time, he used a bit of force to break free from the man’s clutching fingers.
He propped his elbows back on the bed. After the mattress dipped and rebounded, Chu Sicheng shifted from lying flat to leaning against the headboard. He looked down at the man lying dazed across his waist.
His slender fingertips lightly brushed the man’s soft hair, combing it back to reveal his full face. At this moment, Chu Sicheng felt as if he were seeing the female Zerg who would cling to him for a kiss every time he got home from work.
However, unlike the female Zerg’s green eyes that always held a pool of water in bed, this man’s eyes held only a deep inkiness and a flicker of fire fueled by the drug.
The fingers resting near the man’s ear became scalding due to the heat.
“Hot.”
“It hurts.”
Chu Sicheng’s fingertip landed on the man’s tightly bitten lips, watching as the other instinctively opened his mouth to bite his finger. A slight sting traveled from his fingertip to his brain, as if urging it to send the command to pull away.
But Chu Sicheng did not move. He just lowered his head and looked at the man quietly, his probing gaze seemingly wanting to look through the exterior to the soul hidden deep within the body.
“You want me to help you,” Chu Sicheng said. “But I am also drugged.”
“There is no such thing as a free meal in this world, and naturally, no such thing as a free favor.”
He pressed the tip of his tongue against the soft flesh inside his mouth. Under the man’s blurred gaze, Chu Sicheng slowly pushed his finger inch by inch into the man’s mouth.
His knuckles were gradually dampened by saliva, but Chu Sicheng continued deeper as if he couldn’t sense it, until the other made a pained whimper.
“So,” Chu Sicheng lowered his eyelashes. “Dear unknown gentleman, would you like to help each other?”
