What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 39.1
After returning to the dormitory, Cha Yuxuan didn’t utter a single word; she just sat in her seat and stared blankly into space. This made Yun Qi extremely worried. Before the other two unfriendly roommates returned, she decided to ask what had happened though she guessed it likely had something to do with Yan Qingran.
However, as soon as Yun Qi approached, before she could even speak, Cha Yuxuan lunged forward and hugged her, sobbing quietly. Between snags of breath, she cursed, “Yan Qingran, she’s a big scumbag, a jerk, a heartbreaker, a total blockhead…”
A 170cm frame hanging onto Yun Qi’s 160cm small body was quite a sight.
Yun Qi patted her back to comfort her. “Alright, alright, let’s not cry first, okay? What exactly did she do?”
Cha Yuxuan sobbed, “Uuu… actually, I’m not even that angry, it’s just that she kept it from me, didn’t tell me… uuu… I just feel uncomfortable. She could have made it clear much earlier, but she dragged it out until now… uuu…”
Get to the point! Yun Qi thought. Usually such a clever child, why did she become so muddled when things actually happened? Yun Qi’s biggest fear was that they had fully broken up or said things like “never see each other again.”
She asked tentatively, “So you two just had a fight, right?”
“I told her not to come looking for me anymore…” Cha Yuxuan grabbed a tissue to wipe her face and sniffed. “I was too angry at the time, and now I regret it.”
Yun Qi thought: I knew it. Young couples these days always threaten to never meet again the moment they argue; it’s really worrying.
Cha Yuxuan added, “Do you think she really won’t come looking for me? That idiot, she’s so stubborn, I was just speaking out of anger.”
People in love truly lose their IQ. Yun Qi comforted her, “It’s fine. We’re all in the same college. You’re bound to run into each other eventually. How could she really stop looking for you?”
Cha Yuxuan said pitifully, “But when I left, she didn’t even try to stop me. It was clearly her fault.”
“Uh…” Yun Qi finally realized how much of a “missing link” Yan Qingran was when it came to emotions. She was way too dense. No wonder she was so beautiful and kind yet stayed single for so long.
The Rival: Zhuang Wei
Meanwhile, Yan Qingran, who was about to leave campus, sneezed. She wrapped her coat tighter around herself and drove toward the exit.
Yun Qi couldn’t imagine a refined person like Yan Qingran doing something to make the equally broad-minded Cha Yuxuan this upset. “If you’re willing to talk, can you tell me what she did?”
Cha Yuxuan said dejectedly, “She’s been engaged for a long time but didn’t tell me.”
Yun Qi was furious. If she didn’t give Yan Qingran a beating, her name wasn’t Yun. “What?! She’s using you as a backup?”
“No…” Cha Yuxuan quickly explained. “She said it’s a family alliance. They don’t really see each other and have no feelings. She’s already planning the breakup.”
Yun Qi narrowed her eyes, advising from an Omega’s perspective. “Alpha words are ninety percent lies. You have to be careful. What if she’s just talking and never actually breaks the engagement, but keeps pestering you? That’s trouble.”
“I know,” Cha Yuxuan nodded.
Yun Qi thought it over. “Here’s the plan: do not take the initiative to contact her during this time. Go to class and eat with me; I’ll help you think of something. If she truly loves you, she’ll be in a rush to break the engagement and explain things. If she’s just playing around, she’ll keep pestering you instead of busy-ing herself with the breakup.”
Cha Yuxuan frowned. “But how would I know if she succeeded? If she hadn’t told me herself, I wouldn’t have known she was engaged at all.”
“Did she tell you who the fiancé is?”
Cha Yuxuan nodded. “I know his name and face. A male Omega named Zhuang Wei.”
Yun Qi took out her phone. “Let’s search for this person online. If it’s a family alliance, he can’t be a nobody. Then we’ll find a way to meet him.”
“But I only know the pronunciation; I don’t know the specific characters for his name.”
“It’s fine. Same pronunciation, name combinations, a local with a certain education or wealth… with combined criteria, we can find him.”
In a luxury hotel suite, Zhuang Wei, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, leaned back on a sofa. Beside him, a burly man with a full-sleeve tattoo bowed as he handed over a file. “Young Master, here is the information you requested.”
Zhuang Wei took the file and glanced through it casually. “Cha Yuxuan? S-class Omega? Milk-candy scented pheromones?”
He let out a couple of chuckles, tossed the file on the coffee table, and glanced at the burly man. The man immediately broke into a cold sweat and stood there trembling.
Zhuang Wei’s lips curled into a faint, unreadable smile. He patted the man’s shoulder. “You did well. Get out.”
“Yes, sir!” The man practically scrambled out of the room.
Zhuang Wei stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out. Soon, a lean, middle-aged man walked up to him. “Young Master, Zang Jie and Yu Chengtian heard you’re back and want to invite you for drinks tonight.”
Zhuang Wei said with disdain, “Who wants to drink with those two stinking Alphas? A waste of time. Reject all future invitations from them.”
The middle-aged man didn’t question him. “Yes, sir.”
Zhuang Wei turned his gaze toward Q University. “Where is Second Brother?”
“Second Young Master said he won’t be back for Mid-Autumn this year; things are tight over there.”
Zhuang Wei took off his glasses and sat back down. “I see. Wish Big Brother, Sister, and the elders a Happy Mid-Autumn for me. Bring some gifts back.”
The middle-aged man couldn’t help but speak up. “Young Master, Mid-Autumn is a very important day for the Master.”
Zhuang Wei shot him a look. “Just say I’m in the hospital with a disordered heat.” Knowing further persuasion was useless, the man nodded.
The suite fell silent again. Zhuang Wei rubbed his temples. “I don’t want to break the engagement with Yan Qingran for the time being.”
“Is it because of her pheromone scent?” the man guessed.
Zhuang Wei gave a self-deprecating laugh. “You know?”
The man was Zhuang Wei’s confidant. “Likely the only ones who don’t understand your mind are the Second Young Master and the old fossils at home.”
Zhuang Wei showed an obsessed expression. “Their mouth shapes are very similar, too.” He muttered to himself, “Tell me, how should I keep Yan Qingran?”
“Haven’t you already made arrangements?” the man asked, puzzled.
Zhuang Wei shrugged. “My arrangements only ever lead to the worst possible outcome. You know that.”
The man’s lip twitched. “I suggest you don’t make things too tense, or it will be hard to manage later. Yan Zhao might have been greedy when he set the engagement, but it doesn’t mean he’s gone senile.”
Zhuang Wei said longingly, “If only Second Brother were here.”
The “Dumb” Alpha’s Gesture
After returning, Yan Qingran immediately finished and submitted all her assignments. She then cooked a meal, packed it in a thermal box, and wrote a note to put inside.
She paced around hesitantly before messaging Yun Qi: “Are you there?”
Being one of the few times she initiated a message, she couldn’t think of an opening, so she just went with what was practical. Yun Qi replied instantly: “What’s up?”
Yan Qingran typed: “In twenty minutes, come downstairs to get some food. Portions for you and her, plus two cups of milk tea.”
Yun Qi replied sarcastically, “Got time to play the attentive one, but no time to clear up your own mess?”
Yan Qingran froze, then sent a meme: [Stop scolding, stop scolding, I’m going to get stupider if you keep scolding]. Then she added, “I’ll have to trouble you during this time. Please take good care of her for me.”
Yun Qi said bluntly, “That’s what I should do; it has nothing to do with you.”
Yan Qingran bit her lip: “Thank you.”
On the other end, Yun Qi was nearly fuming. She had never seen someone with such a “good” (infuriatingly polite) temperament. Even Cha Yuxuan laughed until she was doubled over after reading the chat logs.
Yan Qingran rushed downstairs, drove to buy milk tea, and picked up two of Cha Yuxuan’s favorite desserts as a late-night snack. She hurried to the dorm, left the food with the dorm supervisor, and didn’t dare stay, she left immediately.
Just as she left, Yun Qi and a sneaky Cha Yuxuan came out to collect the food.
“See?” Yun Qi complained. “She has no heart. Didn’t stay for even a minute. And here you are peeking from the shadows like a fool. It’s infuriating.”
Cha Yuxuan countered, “But the milk tea and desserts are my favorites!”
Yun Qi tsked. “That’s exactly why it’s weird! She’s so guilty she bought all this to compensate you. Something’s definitely wrong.”
Cha Yuxuan said happily, “What’s weird about it? She has something to do at 7:00 PM. Cooking for me and sending things in a rush is already quite good.”
Yun Qi’s face went dark. Was this girl brainwashed? Even she, the firm “Cha-Yan-Yue-Se” shipper, had temporarily revoked her fan status, yet the victim was still falling for it?
