What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 34
Once Yan Qingran had a moment of free time, she instinctively wanted to head to the study to read or simply clear her mind and rest.
Leading such a life might seem monotonous to others and she used to think so too but once she truly committed to it, she didn’t find it boring at all. Yan Zhao had once told her to treat knowledge like an Omega waiting to be claimed, claiming that such a mindset would keep her driven. It was blunt and crude, but it held a certain truth.
Just as she stepped out of the bedroom, her phone on the coffee table rang. Yan Qingran walked over quickly; it was her father calling. This was rare, but she pressed answer without hesitation.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Yan Bing got to the point. “We are coming back for a visit next month. Is there anything you need?”
We?
Yan Qingran knew clearly that this referred to Yan Bing and his wife, Mary.
Mary was a British noble with significant status. It was impossible for her to submit to Yan Bing and settle in China, so the couple decided to live in London. This decision had infuriated the conservative Yan Zhao, who had even chased Yan Bing out of the house with his cane.
The relationship between Yan Bing and Yan Zhao had always been strained, but Yan Qingran knew that her father’s talent in architectural design far surpassed her grandfather’s. Yan Bing simply didn’t chase awards or fame, which was the only reason Yan Zhao hadn’t completely severed their father-daughter tie.
Yan Qingran had actually been born in London and lived there for several years. When she was six, at Yan Zhao’s forceful insistence, she returned to China for school, beginning her studies with a Beijing-accented Mandarin mixed with English.
Because of Yan Bing’s defiance, Yan Zhao had always been extremely strict with Yan Qingran, brainwashing her with feudalistic ideas. This had a profound impact on her, but as she grew older, she gradually broke free from his ideological shackles. However, changing the status quo was difficult, so she resorted to humoring Yan Zhao while enriching herself.
She recalled filling out her college applications after the entrance exam. Yan Zhao, wanting to keep her close, changed her preference to a combined bachelor’s and master’s program without her consent. Fortunately, Q University’s architecture program only added one year for the master’s, so Yan Qingran went along with it.
As for after graduation, Yan Zhao had already mapped it out: he held her passport, intending for her to go to a research institute for a few years before working at a state-owned enterprise. In short, she wasn’t allowed to go abroad, not even for further study.
How ridiculous. Yan Qingran didn’t want to live the life he had planned anymore. Breaking the engagement would be her starting point.
Yan Bing waited quietly on the other end. Yan Qingran snapped back from her memories. “I don’t need you to bring anything for now. However, I have a thought.”
“What is it?”
Having stayed abroad for so long, Yan Bing’s Mandarin naturally carried a British lilt, and his word order had shifted.
Yan Qingran told Yan Bing everything about her and Cha Yuxuan.
Yan Bing laughed for a while before answering. “History repeats itself. I met Mary at your age, and she was also my junior.” He paused, seemingly reminiscing, then sighed. “I originally planned to ask if you’d like to be an exchange student at my alma mater when I returned; I would have handled Yan Zhao for you. But now, it seems you’ve found your honey, which is even better.”
“Mm…” Yan Qingran glanced at the bedroom door. “Will you help me?”
“Hahaha!” Yan Bing laughed heartily. “Of course, baby. I definitely support you in pursuing true love. If things get too difficult, you two can elope to Britain. I’ll cover all your expenses while you study.”
Yan Qingran did a mental calculation. “I’m an adult and I have some savings. Even if I truly fall out with Grandpa, I won’t end up on the streets.”
Yan Bing corrected her seriously. “I know you are independent, but this is what I should do as a father. Please don’t refuse me.”
Yan Qingran said, “Alright, let’s not think of the worst. Maybe Grandpa will just scold me and then agree.”
Yan Bing chuckled. “Then you are dead wrong. You don’t understand how much Yan Zhao values that engagement. To him, it’s as important as his reputation. Breaking the contract is equivalent to slapping his face, and face is more important to him than anything.”
Yan Qingran was silent for a moment, then said firmly, “That still won’t stop me from breaking the engagement.”
“Fine, don’t be so gloomy,” Yan Bing comforted. “When I get back, I can help you through this crisis.”
“Mm.”
They chatted for a bit longer before hanging up. Yan Bing was in a rush, saying he was going to engage in some “loving morning exercise” with Mary (London being seven hours behind Jingcheng). He added that it was very beneficial for physical and mental health and told her not to be shy.
Yan Qingran rubbed her forehead helplessly. Until the engagement was gone and Cha Yuxuan had an official status by her side, she wouldn’t cross any lines. That was her principle and her bottom line.
After putting her phone away, she sat on the sofa for a while longer and composed a message to Zhuang Wei. She didn’t ask if he had time; she simply stated her intent to break the engagement directly. Regardless of his schedule, she had to bring it up now. The arrow was on the string; it had to be fired.
Checking the time, it was nearly 3:00 PM. Cha Yuxuan had been asleep for over an hour. It was time to check on her.
Yan Qingran rose from the sofa and quietly twisted the bedroom door open. Instantly, a massive wave of Omega pheromones crashed into her, spraying a milky-sweet scent right in her face.
What is going on?
Yan Qingran slammed the door shut, her face turning a deep, ripe pomegranate red. Her breathing grew heavy. Such a large dose of Omega pheromones was enough to induce a heat in her on the spot, but she forcefully suppressed the surging emotions within her. After a few deep breaths, she immediately called the emergency medical line and explained the situation.
Today was truly full of twists and turns. Yan Qingran gave a bitter laugh. An Omega in heat was quite a handful.
Of course, if I could mark her, it wouldn’t be a problem at all, she added silently in her heart.
After calming her restless heart, she found a spare scent-blocking patch in the living room and put it on, then donned two layers of masks before pushing the door open again. She saw Cha Yuxuan curled up on the bed, moaning softly.
She was drenched in sweat, her brow furrowed, and her exposed skin was as red as a cooked crawfish. She had instinctively torn off the scent patch on her neck, her clothes were disarrayed, and she had kicked the quilt onto the floor.
Yan Qingran held her breath and immediately opened the window and turned on the ventilation fan. But the scent of Omega pheromones in the room was still so thick it made her feel like committing a crime. She felt herself walking toward the bed almost uncontrollably.
Cha Yuxuan caught a glimpse of someone entering the room. She gasped out a low plea, “Senior… I’m so hot… it’s so hot…”
Her tone sounded like she was about to cry—aggrieved, pained, and desperate.
If any other Alpha had encountered this, they surely would have lost control. But hearing her voice made Yan Qingran even more lucid; it was almost exactly like the scene in her dream.
Hiss—
Step by step, Yan Qingran fought her nature to move toward the door, her chest heaving and her heart pounding as if it would jump out of her chest. Her face was as flushed as Cha Yuxuan’s.
She was almost out, but this was also the point where she was closest to the bed. The gland at the back of her neck had uncontrollably secreted some domineering Alpha pheromones, which tangled with the soft Omega pheromones in the air, sending waves of pleasure back into her own system.
Sensing the pheromones on Yan Qingran, Cha Yuxuan struggled up from the bed and lunged at her, throwing her arms around her as if she were a human cooling machine. She buried her head in Yan Qingran’s shoulder, rubbing against the fabric.
Yan Qingran had no time to react. Her body’s instinct made it impossible to push her away; she wanted to hold her, possess her, mark her—to press down on that soft spot and claim her.
Sharp intake of breath.
With a new set of teeth marks on her shoulder, Yan Qingran snapped back to reality, forced back into a corner by the impact.
Then, her pupils contracted as she realized Cha Yuxuan had grabbed her hand and was slowly moving it up toward the gland at the back of her neck.
“Don’t do this.” Yan Qingran tried to pull her hand back, but Cha Yuxuan pressed against her, making it impossible to break free. To an outsider, it would have looked like she was the one being assaulted.
Indeed, Yan Qingran had never been this humiliated—pinned into a corner by an Omega and forced to do things she didn’t want to do.
Now that Cha Yuxuan had found the person who made her less hot, she didn’t want to let go. She craved more coolness, and she could sense the source of that coolness was at the back of the person’s neck. But every time she tried to get closer or take a step further, the person would block her or struggle away.
It was infuriating. Cha Yuxuan felt so hot her vision was blurred; all her movements were pure instinct. She couldn’t understand why this person refused to let her cool down.
Please, no…
Touching that soft, burning heat in her palm, Yan Qingran instinctively wanted to linger, yet her heart resisted. In her hesitation, she had already taken quite a few liberties. If Chacha woke up and remembered this, she would never be able to clear her name.
The small Omega gland in her palm gradually grew swollen and red. Unable to hold back, she massaged the area, feeling like she was on a drug she couldn’t quit. She kept kneading it, her body uncontrollably secreting some soothing Alpha pheromones.
Cha Yuxuan immediately felt much better. She leaned peacefully in Yan Qingran’s arms like a kitten showing its soft belly, sighing softly in comfort as she leaned into the pressure of the hand.
The Alpha and Omega pheromones in the air intertwined, fermenting into an ambiguous, aphrodisiac scent. In the corner of the room, the two were pressed tightly together.
The innate dissatisfaction of an Alpha suddenly flared up.
Having tasted a bit of sweetness, Yan Qingran instinctively wanted more. The small, flushed gland was completely exposed to her view. Cha Yuxuan offered the back of her neck in a sacrificial pose, starting to writhe as she too hungered for more.
Yan Qingran’s throat moved. She leaned down, her face drawing closer to the back of the girl’s neck. She could already smell the unique fragrance the Omega gland emitted to entice her, the sweetness was gone, replaced by a much heavier scent of milk.
The pheromones in the air were beginning to reach a boiling point.
