Wagging My Tail in the Ice Queen CEO’s Embrace - Chapter 66
“President Fu really isn’t that, tsundere toward you.” As she saw Ming Ying off, Du Yunxin emphasized again, “She’s extremely particular. If you offend her, she’ll put on a show of flipping out right then and there. You’ve experienced that, haven’t you?”
Ming Ying nodded. She had indeed experienced it, more than once. Fu Anyu truly flipped out at the drop of a hat.
“Anyway, if she doesn’t stop you from doing something, just take it as her tacit approval,” Du Yunxin continued. “Let me tell you, physical contact can build affection. As long as President Fu doesn’t dislike it, just cling to her and that’s it.”
Ming Ying entered Fu Anyu’s bedroom with her head full of advice, hugging the newly replaced giant vegetable dog plushie, and began to digest and absorb Xiao Du’s teachings.
She felt she was overthinking things, that most of her worries were just scaring herself. To smoothly advance their relationship, she first had to get past her own mental barriers.
She really didn’t need to fear being disliked by Fu Anyu. That time she had jumped onto the bed to accompany her while sleeping, hadn’t Fu Anyu scolded her then too?
This was the first time Ming Ying had taken matters of love so seriously. Her brain wasn’t quite up to the task, and before long, she grew drowsy. She simply turned on the air conditioner, curled up hugging the vegetable dog, and decided to sleep first, regain her energy, and then continue thinking.
Unexpectedly, she dreamed of returning to Fu Anyu’s office. The room contained only one chair, the swivel chair exclusively for Fu Anyu, which Du Yunxin called the “President’s Throne”, and Fu Anyu wasn’t in the office.
Ming Ying stood in front of the desk, feeling at a loss.
Without Fu Anyu’s permission, she didn’t dare sit there, afraid that Secretary Liang or someone else might suddenly come in, jump to conclusions, and spread rumors that could harm Fu Anyu’s reputation.
But she also wanted others to know that she wanted to do this and had the right to do it. After an internal struggle, she still walked toward the swivel chair.
Just as she reached the chair but hadn’t sat down yet, Fu Anyu opened the door and came in, her icy gaze fixed solely on Ming Ying’s face.
“Step away from it,” Fu Anyu’s voice was equally cold.
Ming Ying was startled by her gaze and tone, instinctively wanting to leave, but her body boldly sat right down.
She then heard Fu Anyu let out a cold laugh, and watched as she walked over, picked her up horizontally in an exaggerated manner, and lifted her overhead.
Ming Ying panicked, letting out a frightened “whimper,” worried she might be dropped to the floor. The next moment, she felt Fu Anyu release her grip.
Thinking she was about to fall, she quickly adjusted her balance, only to land in Fu Anyu’s arms, her outstretched hands pressing against a place she shouldn’t have dared to imagine.
“You’re being disobedient,” Fu Anyu’s voice sounded close to her ear, her warm breath blowing into Ming Ying’s ear canal, making her tremble all over. “Let me think carefully about how to punish a disobedient little fox.”
Ming Ying shrank in her embrace, feeling Fu Anyu pat her back. Somehow, all her tails popped out, nine of them, each one twisting restlessly, even sweeping the documents and water cup off the desk.
But after her tails emerged, Ming Ying, for some reason, found her courage and even dared to calmly meet Fu Anyu’s gaze.
“Sister wants to rub my tail as punishment, right?” Ming Ying asked. In reality, she was actually hoping for it, since Xiao Du had mentioned that physical contact helps deepen relationships.
Even though this was just a dream.
Unexpectedly, Fu Anyu shook her head and said “no.” Despite her words, she still reached out toward the fox tail.
Ming Ying had mentally prepared herself and soon felt Fu Anyu’s hand on her tail, stroking and squeezing along the fur.
But she never expected that after stroking for a while, Fu Anyu would take all three of her tails in hand, pushing them back and forth with her palm. Before long, Ming Ying felt all three tails tightening. When she turned to look, she discovered that Fu Anyu had actually braided them into one thick, white braid!
Ming Ying: ???
Ming Ying was stunned. Before Fu Anyu could start braiding a second tail, she struggled to break free from this strange dream.
She had indeed fantasized about doing something with Fu Anyu in the office based on novels, but this was just too much! It was practically an insult to fox tails!
…
After waking up, Ming Ying remained dazed for a while longer, even checking the number of her tails. Then she went to the bathroom to splash her face and wake up properly. Turning on the light, she began pondering where she and Fu Anyu should take a bath together after Fu Anyu returned home.
The sound of water from the showerhead was distinctly different from that of the bathtub faucet. She could tell them apart after hearing them just once, so even outside the bathroom, she knew which one Fu Anyu was using. But honestly, after staying at Fu Anyu’s place for so many days, she had never seen or heard Fu Anyu use the bathtub.
Fu Anyu seemed to be in a hurry to rest. Based on Ming Ying’s experience, showering was definitely faster than soaking in a bath.
So, if she wanted Fu Anyu to spend more time with her in the bathroom, she needed to find a way to convince Fu Anyu to use the bathtub.
Ming Ying stood in front of the bathtub, thinking for a moment, then went downstairs to ask Xiao Du for a clean plastic basin before heading to the backyard.
August was still the blooming season for jasmine flowers. Even under the scorching sun, protected by the water spiritual shield Fu Anyu had personally created, the jasmine flowers in the backyard were in full bloom.
Ming Ying held the plastic basin, picking one flower after another. When she felt she had gathered enough for a petal bath, she carried the basin back and handed it to Du Yunxin, asking her to help wash the petals.
Upon hearing that Ming Ying wanted to take a petal bath, Du Yunxin immediately gave her a thumbs up. “Nice! As expected of Her Highness the Princess to come up with such a bathing method!”
Ming Ying felt a bit embarrassed by the praise. Watching Du Yunxin deftly pluck the petals and wash them carefully in clean water, she couldn’t help but ask, “How do you humans usually take petal baths? With plain water or milk?”
“Definitely plain water,” Du Yunxin replied. “Milk baths are a thing of the past. Nowadays, we use body lotion. But if you want a petal bath, it’s better not to use such bathing products.”
“For petal baths, it’s best to boil the petals first and then pour both the water and petals into the tub,” Du Yunxin said after finishing washing the petals. She then turned to Ming Ying and asked, “But fresh petals work too, it depends on your preference. However, there’s still some time before President Fu gets off work, so we need to find a way to keep the petals fresh.”
“Let’s use fresh petals,” Ming Ying said, then extended her hand to cover the jasmine petals with wood spiritual energy. “I have a way to keep them fresh.”
Seeing her cast spells with an unconscious smile at the corner of her lips, Du Yunxin couldn’t help but smile along and cheer her on: “Go for it, little fox!”
During dinner that evening, Fu Anyu inexplicably felt that the atmosphere between Ming Ying and Du Yunxin was somewhat peculiar.
In her view, the two seemed to have reached some kind of understanding and were planning to collaborate on something.
But Fu Anyu didn’t ask. She quietly ate her dinner.
She wasn’t worried that Xiao Du would lead the little fox astray; in fact, she was somewhat looking forward to what might happen that night.
Before that, however, she first announced something: “This Friday, we’re having a team-building event. Barring any unexpected changes, we’ll be going to the mountain resort in the suburbs for hiking, and we might also go swimming. We’ll stay for two nights and return on Sunday afternoon.”
“Wow, finally a new team-building activity!” Du Yunxin was thrilled. Noticing that Ming Ying was still spacing out, she quickly nudged her chair lightly. “Does the Fox Immortal want to go to the mountains?”
“Huh? Of course, I do!” Ming Ying snapped back to reality and hurriedly agreed, then turned to look at Fu Anyu. “Is Sister coming too?”
“I’ll go,” Fu Anyu said. “It’s rare to have a chance to relax.”
“I have to say, you really need to relax,” Du Yunxin sighed deliberately. “The group’s situation is mostly stable now, and it’s not too late for someone your age to start focusing on wellness.”
“It’s not that serious,” Fu Anyu said with a laugh. “I have spiritual power to protect me. I should work harder while I’m still young.”
“But you should relax when you’re at home, right?” Ming Ying quickly chimed in. “I picked some jasmine flowers today. Would you like to take a petal bath?”
Though she phrased it as a question, Fu Anyu immediately sensed the underlying meaning, after all, she had invited the little fox that morning, and it seemed the little fox still remembered it.
“Alright,” she replied. “But we just finished eating, so it’s not a good time to bathe. I’ll take a short walk in the yard first.”
“I’ll go with you, Sister,” Ming Ying added. “I’m also feeling full and need to walk it off.”
She remembered Xiao Du’s emphasis on taking the initiative. While spacing out earlier, she had been thinking about how to be proactive tonight so that Fu Anyu would willingly agree without sensing any deliberate effort on her part.
Evening was the perfect time for a cool stroll. After dinner, the two of them, one human, one fox, walked slowly through the backyard, enveloped in the rich fragrance of jasmine.
Seeing that it was just the two of them, Ming Ying decided to ask directly: “Sister, do you remember your promise about ‘bathing together’?”
“I remember,” Fu Anyu nodded. “Do you want to take a petal bath with me?”
“I kind of do.” Ming Ying feigned shyness, though she was genuinely embarrassed about such matters and didn’t need to pretend, her cheeks were already flushed. “I really love petal baths, but ever since coming to the human world, I’ve either been injured or recovering, with no chance to enjoy one.”
“Well, today’s your chance, isn’t it?” Fu Anyu smiled. “But if you want to beautify and nourish your skin, roses would be better. Next time, I’ll get some roses for you.”
Ming Ying’s ears perked up instantly, quickly catching the keyword “roses.” She made a mental note, then happily wagged her four tails and flashed a sweet smile. “Thank you, Sister!”
As soon as she finished speaking, a gust of wind swept through, blowing one of her tails against Fu Anyu.
Ming Ying, overjoyed, eagerly anticipated Fu Anyu stroking her tail. But instead, Fu Anyu blocked it with the back of her hand and gently pushed it away.
Her reaction left Ming Ying quite disappointed, but in an instant, she found a new topic.
She looked at Fu Anyu in surprise, picked up the tail that had been pushed away, and asked with a hint of grievance, “Sister, do you not even like my tail anymore?”
Ming Ying felt she had performed quite convincingly, both in action and emotion.
Yet, after hearing this, Fu Anyu frowned and explained, “It’s not that I don’t like it.”
“Then, will you pet it?” Ming Ying cut her off, holding up her tail with hopeful eyes.
