Vicious, Yet Undeniably Beautiful [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 5
Yu Li looked at the sofa with disdain, his eyes filled with cold arrogance as he looked down at the man.
“Get out of the way. Your clothes are dirty, and this place is too cheap.”
Qin Xie froze, his large hand hovering in mid-air. He looked at the impeccably clean sofa and then back at his own sterile, high-tech tactical suit. He was momentarily at a loss, his stoic face showing a rare flicker of confusion and hurt.
“The sofa is clean, and the environment is the best we could provide,” he explained softly, his voice heavy with caution.
Yu Li’s lip curled into a sneer. He reached out and pushed against Qin Xie’s chest, his movements dainty yet filled with unmistakable malice. “I do not care. It is unsightly, and I do not like it. Do you really think I am some beggar you can just toss onto any piece of furniture?”
The New Humans standing at the door gasped, their eyes widening in shock. How could he? The War God had saved him, provided him with shelter, and treated him like the most precious treasure in the galaxy, yet this ancient human was being so ungrateful.
Qin Xie’s gaze darkened for a fleeting second, but he quickly suppressed his irritation, which was replaced by a deep, hollow ache. He had imagined a thousand scenarios of their first meeting, but none of them involved the ancient human finding him repulsive.
“Then where would you like to sit?” Qin Xie asked, his voice low and submissive.
“Put me down,” Yu Li commanded, his voice sharp and impatient.
Qin Xie carefully lowered him. As soon as Yu Li’s feet touched the floor, he did not even bother looking at the man. He walked toward the center of the room with his head held high, his movements elegant yet incredibly haughty. He looked around the room with a look of extreme dissatisfaction, his delicate nose crinkling in disgust.
“This, this, and this: throw it all out. It is all tacky.”
He pointed at the exquisite chandeliers and the high-end, intelligent furniture, his tone dripping with disdain.
The New Humans outside felt their blood pressure rising. That furniture was custom-made using the latest interstellar technology! It was worth more than a small planet.
“He is too much,” one guard whispered, his voice trembling with anger. “We saved him from the ice, and this is how he treats our leader?”
“Hush!” another hissed. “He is the only ancient human left. We have to be patient.”
Qin Xie did not say a word. He simply waved his hand at his subordinates, signaling them to remove the items. His eyes never left Yu Li, following the youth’s every graceful movement with a mixture of obsession and dejection.
Yu Li walked to the window, watching the swirling snow outside. He felt a secret sense of satisfaction. Yes, that is it. Hate me. The more you hate me, the faster the viciousness points will climb.
He turned back, his gaze landing on Qin Xie, who was still standing there like a statue. Yu Li’s eyes flickered with calculated malice.
“You,” Yu Li called out, pointing a slender, pale finger at him. “Come here.”
Qin Xie stepped forward instantly. “What is it, Li Li?”
“You are an eyesore standing there,” Yu Li said, his tone icy. “Find me some real food. If you bring me that foul-tasting nutrient paste again, do not blame me for being rude.”
He was intentionally making things difficult. In this era, nutrient pastes were the standard for everyone, from the common citizens to the military. Fresh, real food was an extreme luxury, a relic of the past that only the incredibly wealthy or the top-tier researchers could dream of consuming.
Qin Xie paused, his expression solemn. “I will do my best to find some for you.”
“Do your best?” Yu Li tilted his head, his dark, beautiful eyes mocking. “If you cannot even provide a simple meal, what use are you as a protector?”
The room fell into a heavy, suffocating silence.
The New Humans looked at Qin Xie, worried that he might finally snap, but to their astonishment, the War God simply bowed his head, his voice steady and calm. “I will have it prepared for you immediately.”
As Qin Xie turned to leave, he signaled for his team to clear the room, leaving Yu Li alone in the spacious, empty space.
Yu Li watched his retreating back and let out a soft, satisfied hum.
The first step is complete.
In his mind, the system was buzzing with excitement.
“Host, you were amazing! You earned five hundred viciousness points in just one go! Qin Xie’s favorability has not dropped, but his confusion is definitely fueling the quest!”
Yu Li leaned back against the wall, his expression shifting from cold malice to a lazy, mischievous glint.
“This is only the beginning,” he whispered to himself. “If he thinks I am difficult now, he is going to be in for quite a surprise later.”
