Vicious, Yet Undeniably Beautiful [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 3
Yu Li straightened his small waist, tilting his chin up as he looked down at the others.
“Why should I tell you my name?” Yu Li was feeling extremely uncomfortable in the man’s awkward, princess-style hold. He wrinkled his exquisite face and spoke with irritation.
His voice was tiny and soft, and as he lifted his fair chin, he revealed a face that was incredibly fresh and alluring. Even when he tried to appear fierce, he could not stir up any anger in others. Especially since the ancient human was still trembling uncontrollably due to a stress reaction from the cold, his voice came out with a quiver, making him appear even less threatening.
The young man’s long, curled eyelashes curved downward, framing a pair of enchanting eyes. He looked like someone accustomed to being spoiled, his eyes flicking upward with a touch of arrogance.
Qin Xie remained gentle and patient, offering a mild explanation. “Ancient humans are the treasures we all share and protect. We need to know the name of our treasure. Noble ancient human, what is your name?”
Yu Li’s frozen brain was too sluggish to wonder why Qin Xie was so patient. His mind was entirely occupied by how uncomfortable the hold was. He fluttered his eyelashes and pushed his luck. “Let me sit on your arm. This way of holding me is uncomfortable.”
The young man was acting haughty and commanding, his voice demanding and self-righteous. Anyone could see he was being unreasonable, but Qin Xie seemed to have his judgment clouded, willingly letting the beautiful ancient human boss him around.
“Okay.” Qin Xie was a bit clumsy, as he had never held a person before. He carefully adjusted his posture for Yu Li, waiting expectantly for the youth’s praise. However, praise never came; instead, he felt an inexplicable sense of nervousness.
The exquisite Yu Li in his arms radiated an indescribable, sweet fragrance. It was like strawberry-flavored nutrient solution, or perhaps some other candy he had never tasted. It made one want to lean in and sniff him; he smelled so sweet and pleasant.
In particular, the tactile sensation of the youth sitting in the crook of his arm—the way he fit perfectly against the muscle—made his slender, fragile waist even more apparent.
Seeing the man looking at him coldly, Yu Li thought he was being warned not to make a scene. He secretly glanced at Qin Xie’s solid muscles and a frame twice as wide as his own, which looked as if it could smash him into a pulp with a single punch.
Yu Li had always been a person who yields to strength and bullies the weak. Facing such a massive build, he did not want to die before achieving his mission, so he felt a bit cowardly.
He had already warmed his hands against the man’s neck, so he cautiously pulled them back, fearing that if he continued to act up, the man might hit him. He did not dare to be spoiled anymore, nor did he dare to look at Qin Xie. He whispered, “Yu Li.”
As the small hand, soft as a marshmallow, left his skin, Qin Xie felt a fleeting sense of loss.
Yu Li. Qin Xie did not notice the inner turmoil of the little person in his arms. He silently repeated the name in his heart. It sounded wonderful, just like a poem.
The two exchanged names, and Qin Xie fulfilled his wish of being the first to know the ancient human’s name.
Just then, the other New Humans outside caught up. They shouted with voices full of frustration as they found the cave that had not yet been searched.
“Boss!”
“Boss!”
“Nothing in the south.”
“Nothing in the east.”
“Nothing in the west.”
A large crowd poured in, and the spacious cave instantly became crowded.
Their voices were loud and echoed within the cave. Yu Li’s ears ached from the volume; he instinctively shrank his head, burying his pale, pinkish face into the crook of Qin Xie’s neck to block out the noise.
In that instant, the warm, soft face pressed tightly against him. Qin Xie’s entire body stiffened. His dark eyes moved downward with difficulty, landing on the top of Yu Li’s fluffy head. The youth seemed terrified by the noise, blindly clutching his neck out of fear.
He really was soft, even softer than he had imagined.
Qin Xie thought to himself. He glanced at the reckless intruders and tightened his stoic face. His tone was dignified and logical. “Get out. Li Li is frightened by all of you.”
“This place is already cramped. If you all crowd around, the air will not circulate, and the ancient human will suffocate.”
As he spoke, he gently used his fingers to cover Yu Li’s ears to prevent the echoes from startling the timid youth.
Once he said this, the New Humans finally directed their gazes toward the ancient human, who looked as slender and fragile as a cub in Qin Xie’s arms.
That was the legendary ancient human, their national treasure in deep sleep. Now, he had been found and held by their most admired boss. What a well-behaved creature; how could he be so obediently curled up in their boss’s arms?
Yu Li felt the numerous, unmasked gazes landing on him, treating him like a pet. This realization made him feel extremely uncomfortable, and he could not help but peek out to glare at them a few times.
His turning back left the New Humans stunned; he was too beautiful.
The ancient human’s face was smaller than their palms, with round eyes, fluffy and noble black hair, skin that glowed with whiteness, and a delicate nose. Below that was his body, now hidden by Qin Xie.
The ancient human bared his teeth at them, looking like a tiger cub who, startled, pretended to be a fierce predator.
Yu Li said fiercely, “What are you looking at!”
Sure enough, when someone is too weak, even baring their teeth looks cute.
The New Humans stared at Yu Li with silly, doting smiles. Not daring to question their boss’s orders, they all backed out of the cave. However, they stood at the entrance and asked questions they already knew the answers to.
“Hehe, Boss, that is the ancient human from the surveillance, right?”
“Boss, Boss, are you tired? Should I hold him for you?”
“Boss, Boss, is the ancient human’s name Li Li? Why is it so nice to hear?”
“Li Li, Li Li, we are not bad people. Hehehe, we are the guards here to protect you, hehehehe.”
They chattered incessantly, endlessly promoting themselves, hoping to earn the ancient human’s favor so they could be the ones to serve him.
Unfortunately, Yu Li could not understand a word. He only saw a group of people in snow suits making constant, buzzing noises, which was incredibly annoying.
They would not be babbling about me abusing my power, would they? Yu Li thought, secretly glancing at the dark-faced Qin Xie. This man was the leader of these New Humans, and the fact that he was in his arms meant he was technically abusing his power.
However, Yu Li always liked to cast himself as the big brother figure. He straightened his back, lifted his head high, and looked at the people outside through his nostrils, looking very much like a fox flattering a wolf king, using his power to bully others.
