Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 9
Wen Wen set down her pen. “Maybe we should just cancel today’s plans.”
Jiang Chi hurriedly zipped her lips shut with an imaginary zipper, then crossed her fingers over her mouth.
In the afternoon, it was Jiang Chi who drove them to the café.
“I used to go to this café all the time! Their coffee is amazing, and the desserts are delicious too! You’re gonna love it!”
The red sports car came to a stop in front of a café at a T-junction, drawing curious glances from passersby.
Even before getting out of the car, Jiang Chi could already feel the scorching stares. She suddenly regretted bringing this car today.
Wen Wen peered out the window. The intersection was bustling with pedestrians, but the café itself was completely empty. She turned to the driver with a look that seemed to say, This is the place you raved about?
Jiang Chi put on an innocent expression. “Sis, did you forget who you are?”
With that, she pulled a pair of sunglasses from the glove compartment and, without hesitation, slid them onto Wen Wen’s face. Then she took off her own fisherman’s hat and placed it on Wen Wen’s head, meticulously tucking in the strands of hair at her temples and forehead.
Once finished, Jiang Chi leaned back, admiring her handiwork with a satisfied pinch of her chin. “Hmm, still missing something.”
She snapped her fingers, rummaged through her bag, and pulled out a black face mask. Tearing open the packaging, she carefully fitted it over Wen Wen’s face.
“Okay, perfect. At least your gorgeous eyes and face are hidden now. Let’s go.”
She stepped out of the car first, so she didn’t see Wen Wen swallowing hard inside.
It wasn’t until they entered the café that Wen Wen realized Jiang Chi had reserved the entire place.
Jiang Chi said matter-of-factly, “For these two hours, you belong to me. No one else gets a piece of you.”
Thanks to the sunglasses, Jiang Chi couldn’t see the dangerous glint in Wen Wen’s narrowed eyes or how loaded that gaze was.
Right now, Wen Wen’s mind was echoing just one phrase: You belong to me.
The hollow space in her heart seemed to fill instantly with those words.
Even though she knew Jiang Chi didn’t mean it that way, so what? She could make it mean that way.
Wen Wen pressed her hand over Jiang Chi’s as she flipped through the menu, removing her sunglasses and setting them aside. Her gaze locked onto Jiang Chi’s, intense enough to swallow her whole. “You just said… I belong to you?”
Jiang Chi glanced at the slender, pale fingers resting on her hand, their joints elegantly defined. For some reason, a thought flashed through her mind: This hand would look stunning with a ring on it.
“Hmm?” Wen Wen prompted when Jiang Chi remained silent, still staring at her hand.
Jiang Chi snapped out of it and met her gaze. “Yeah, what’s the problem? Or are you trying to back out?”
Wen Wen shook her head slightly. “By that logic, doesn’t that mean you belong to me too?”
Jiang Chi felt something was off but couldn’t pinpoint it. She nodded anyway.
Wen Wen continued, “So, at least for now, we belong to each other body and soul, right?”
Jiang Chi nodded again, but the weird feeling only grew stronger.
Wen Wen: “Then does that mean I can do whatever I want?”
Jiang Chi answered without thinking, “Of course. You can tell me whatever you want!”
The last word slipped out purely out of habit.
Before she could finish speaking, she watched as Wen Wen pressed two fingers to her lips, then in the next moment, those same fingers touched her cheek.
Jiang Chi’s eyes widened slightly as she raised a hand to cover her cheek. “What… what does this mean?”
Wen Wen pondered for a moment before replying, “Marking?” She tilted her head slightly toward Jiang Chi and tapped her own cheek. “Didn’t you say I belong to you? You can mark me too.”
“I—” Jiang Chi abruptly stood up. “I need to use the restroom!”
A faint smile played on Wen Wen’s lips as she watched the fleeing figure disappear from view. She quietly opened the menu and ordered Jiang Chi’s favorite coffee and dessert.
Jiang Chi rushed to the bathroom, clutching her pounding heart.
What was happening? Why was her heart racing so fast? It felt like it might burst out of her chest!
Was she having a heart attack?
She turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on her face, taking deep breaths until her frantic heartbeat finally calmed somewhat.
Her fingers brushed the spot where Wen Wen’s touch had lingered, she could still feel the delicate sensation and lingering warmth.
Had Wen Wen done that on purpose?
Was she teasing her?
But Wen Wen hated her, didn’t she?
So it couldn’t be. She was just overthinking things!
Right, she shouldn’t let her imagination run wild!
After a few more deep breaths, Jiang Chi left the restroom. As she turned the corner, she saw Su Jing standing at the counter, speaking with a staff member.
Before she could react, her body moved on its own, she sprinted down the hallway straight toward Su Jing.
She was too far from Wen Wen!
What could she do?
Unless Wen Wen came to her, there was no other solution!
Jiang Chi quickly reached Su Jing. The staff member immediately explained, “Miss Jiang, we were just asking this gentleman to leave, but he insisted he’s your friend and refused.”
“It’s fine. We are friends. You can go about your work.”
In front of others, Jiang Chi usually restrained herself at least she wouldn’t immediately cling to someone’s arm or hold their hand. But the moment they were alone, she intimately looped her arm through Su Jing’s and whispered, “Brother Su Jing, what brings you here? Were you looking for me?”
Her eyes sparkled with delight.
Su Jing neither confirmed nor denied it. “I saw your car outside and had something to discuss, so I came in.”
“What is it?” Jiang Chi pointed to a corner table. “Shall we talk over coffee?”
Su Jing nodded. “Alright.”
I don’t want to! Jiang Chi screamed internally, but her feet carried her forward against her will. The table she’d indicated happened to be diagonally opposite from Wen Wen’s, the farthest possible distance within the café.
Now she could only pray Wen Wen would come to her.
Su Jing sat first, his back to Wen Wen. The small loveseat barely accommodated two people, forcing them to sit close enough that their bodies inevitably touched.
Jiang Chi could feel eyes burning into her back. If Wen Wen was watching, why didn’t she come over?
Then it hit her, Wen Wen was probably angry.
After all, the reason Wen Wen disliked her was because Wen Wen also had feelings for Su Jing.
So even if it’s just for Su Jing’s sake, please come and save her!
No matter the reason, just come rescue her, she really didn’t want to be tied to Su Jing like this.
If she could break free from the control, she would dump him on the spot!
No matter how much she struggled internally, her expression remained perfectly composed. She even flirtatiously tugged at Su Jing’s pinky finger, putting on an exaggeratedly sweet voice as she asked, “Brother Su Jing, what did you want to talk to me about?”
Jiang Chi expected Su Jing to pull his hand away, but to her surprise, he didn’t. Instead, he clasped her hand in his, gripping it tightly as if it were some priceless treasure.
On the surface, she appeared overjoyed by his unusual behavior, but inside, she was utterly disgusted…
Normally, in situations like this, Su Jing would avoid physical contact with her unless.
Just as she suspected, the matter Su Jing wanted to discuss was related to Bai Yuetong.
“Ah Chi, do you remember what you did to Bai Yuetong at the theater last time?” Su Jing hesitated slightly before speaking, yet his words carried no hesitation.
“Of course I remember. I just slapped her once. Honestly, who knows what she’s made of passing out from a single slap.”
“Ah Chi!” Su Jing feigned anger but still didn’t let go of her hand. “So you feel no guilt at all? No intention of making it up to her?”
Jiang Chi pouted defiantly. “Brother Su Jing, just say it outright. How do you want me to compensate her this time?”
Su Jing sighed. “Ah Chi, is this really your attitude?”
Calmness was often the prelude to a storm. Jiang Chi’s heart skipped a beat as she wrapped her arms around Su Jing’s, leaning into him and switching to an overly ingratiating tone. “I’m sorry, Brother Su Jing, I didn’t mean it. What do you think I should do to make it up to her?”
Ugh, what a scumbag! Can’t go a single day without manipulating me, huh? What kind of sin did I commit in my past life to be cursed with loving someone like this?!
Su Jing lowered his gaze, pretending to deliberate for a moment. “That celebrity couple roleplay variety show you invested in for us, Summer of Love is about to start filming soon, right? I think you could give her a spot as compensation.”
So that was it!
No wonder Su Jing hadn’t stopped her from slapping Bai Yuetong that day, he had been setting her up for this all along!
Wait, a celebrity couple roleplay variety show?
This was the important thing she had forgotten last night!
This show was something Jiang Chi had specifically created for herself and Su Jing. They had even planned to publicly announce their relationship at the end of the program.
How could she have forgotten something so crucial?!
It was on this show that Jiang Chi repeatedly lost control, targeting Bai Yuetong at every turn, dragging her already precarious reputation into the gutter and making her the target of widespread online attacks. Instead, she became Bai Yuetong’s stepping stone, helping the latter gain a massive wave of sympathetic fans. Meanwhile, Su Jing and Bai Yuetong were hailed as the perfect “golden couple,” their popularity soaring beyond the show.
Jiang Chi could hand this program over to Su Jing and Bai Yuetong as an apology for her past actions. She could even show Bai Yuetong more consideration in the future. But one thing was certain, she absolutely could not participate in this show herself!
Her heart was in turmoil, but Jiang Chi only furrowed her brows slightly and asked a seemingly unrelated question: “Brother Su Jing, are you sure you love me, right?”
This was the question Jiang Chi always asked whenever Su Jing mentioned compensating Bai Yuetong.
And Su Jing’s response was always the same, delivered with deep affection: “A’Chi, I only love you.”
Jiang Chi felt like she might vomit up last night’s dinner, but outwardly, she just leaned softly against Su Jing’s shoulder and said, “Mmm, I’ll talk to the production team when the time comes.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Su Jing released her hand, patted her shoulder, and stood up. “A’Chi, I have things to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now. Be good and stay safe while you’re out having fun.”
Jiang Chi grabbed his hand. “Brother Su Jing, won’t you stay with me a little longer?”
Su Jing patted her head. “Be good. Once we’re on the show, we’ll be inseparable.”
Reluctantly, Jiang Chi had to let go of his hand.
About two minutes after Su Jing left, Jiang Chi felt the control over her body lift. The first thing she did was turn to look in Wen Wen’s direction.
