Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 45.2
The cubicle regained its calm, but outside remained unsettled.
The “ghost” seemed to be savoring the pleasure of a cat toying with a mouse, moving extremely slowly, though not much time had actually passed.
Now, Wen Wen listened intently to the movements outside. If she wasn’t mistaken, the “ghost” had reached the deepest part of the corridor the innermost cubicle.
But it was opposite theirs.
Perhaps afraid of startling its prey, the “ghost” moved especially quietly this time. If not for Wen Wen’s sharp hearing, she might have thought no one was out there.
Just then, the bathroom lights suddenly turned on.
NPCs’ voices soon followed, but a clearly startled “What the hell!” drowned them out.
It was Ji Mei’s voice.
The two inside the cubicle exchanged glances.
Judging by the commotion outside, it was obvious the “ghost” had moved before Ji Mei.
“It’s you, it’s you, it must be you who seduced.”
As the hoarse voice faded away, a scream erupted, and both sounds retreated simultaneously.
The bathroom lights didn’t turn off with the departure of one player and one “ghost.” NPC voices still echoed outside the cubicle.
The content was the same as when they first entered. It seemed once the scripted performance began, it had to be played out in full.
Wen Wen turned her gaze to the person before her.
Jiang Chi smiled back: “Looks like we’re saved.”
As she spoke, she raised her hand in a victory sign. Wen Wen was about to speak when the person flashing the sign winked her right eye and grinned: “Compensation for tonight.” She lowered one finger. “A request you can’t refuse.” Another finger went down.
Wen Wen narrowed her eyes: “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Jiang Chi shrugged slightly: “Not at all. I’m just exercising the rights my sister granted me, right? And ” She drew out the word, leaning closer, her breath brushing Wen Wen’s ear, “Sister, you’ve known all along I was doing this on purpose, haven’t you?”
Ever since they started discussing the request.
Before Wen Wen could respond, Jiang Chi suddenly exclaimed, “Huh?”
Wen Wen immediately steadied her: “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Chi squeezed her fingers, signaling her not to worry, then pointed at the side wall.
Wen Wen followed her finger and froze. Her eyes swept the cubicle only the wall behind Jiang Chi was clean.
The other walls were covered in writing, chaotic scrawls, vulgar words too obscene to read, like graffiti from some dark underworld.
Only venting, no salvation.
One could imagine the mental state of whoever wrote these words.
All you sluts, those who covet others’ men deserve to die horribly
Teachers are sluts too, just teach your damn classes, who cares if students date? What does Qin Feng’s love life have to do with you? Nosy busybodies should have sons without assholes!
Zhu Lina, if you dare hike up your skirt in front of Qin Feng again, I won’t let you off
Quan Qinghua, you shameless bitch, making college plans with someone else’s boyfriend
Fucking bastard, how dare you lie to me
You all deserve to die, just drop dead
The NPCs’ conversation outside abruptly stopped, and the bathroom lights instantly went out.
Jiang Chi instinctively moved closer to Wen Wen.
Wen Wen glanced at her, the corners of her lips curling up involuntarily. It seemed the puppy had gotten over her temper.
As the two stepped out of the restroom, Wen Wen suddenly halted. She walked over to the dimly glowing green sign, reached out to feel around, and with two clicks, the sign was pried loose.
Wen Wen handed the sign to Jiang Chi: “Hold this. It should help a little.”
Though the light was faint, it was still better than complete darkness.
Jiang Chi obediently took it: “It definitely will. I can’t believe we didn’t think of it earlier.”
Wen Wen didn’t respond. If the puppy hadn’t been sulking and ignoring her earlier, she wouldn’t have been so preoccupied with coaxing her that she overlooked this.
The two made their way to the infirmary.
Along the path, they encountered various “ghosts”, some wailing grievances, others seething with anger, and some pleading for forgiveness.
Most were crying out injustices.
Based on what they’d seen in the restroom, it wasn’t hard to deduce that the murderer hadn’t just killed Qin Feng. Perhaps the entire school had fallen victim to her.
When they arrived at the infirmary, the lights were on, but unlike the brightly lit classrooms and restrooms, the overhead lamp here flickered intermittently, casting an eerie and sinister atmosphere.
In the swaying light, a boy knelt beside a hospital bed, weeping in remorse and anguish: “I’m sorry, Yueyue, I really didn’t mean to. I just liked you too much.”
His back was turned to Wen Wen and Jiang Chi, so they couldn’t see his expression.
“I… I’ve had unrequited love for you for five years, from middle school until now. I’ve always liked you. I really, really do.”
On the bed sat a girl, her face ashen as if she were on the brink of death. Her demeanor was calm as she responded softly, “Liked me?”
After saying this, she paused for a long time, her distant gaze finally settling on the boy kneeling beside her: “Your ‘like’ was watching me turn into a lunatic?”
“No, no, I was going to tell you.”
The girl cut him off quietly: “When? After I died?”
“No, Yueyue, you won’t die. You absolutely won’t.” The boy grabbed her hand. “I wanted to tell you, but you only had eyes for Qin Feng. You only ever looked at Qin Feng!”
The name “Qin Feng” was spat out with clear hatred.
“Yes, I only loved him. So stop liking me. I’ll never like anyone else but him.”
The boy suddenly let out a chilling laugh: “What if he disappeared from this world?”
The girl, who had been about to lie down, bolted upright at his words, her face filled with terror: “What do you mean?”
The lights abruptly went out.
The infirmary plunged back into darkness. A cold wind blew in through the window, rustling the papers and books on the desk with a fluttering sound.
The NPCs’ dialogue didn’t reveal any new locations, suggesting this was the final place where clues might be hidden.
Wen Wen: “Let’s search carefully. We’re missing the last crucial clue.”
The entire story had already taken shape in her mind. She was 95% certain who the murderer was, but only 5% sure about how Qin Feng had died.
If they could find that one key clue, she could be 100% certain.
Jiang Chi: “……”
But her mind was filled with nothing but fear and thoughts of Wen Wen.
“Sister, have you figured it out already?”
Wen Wen replied, “Pretty much.”
Jiang Chi decided to contribute: “Sister, what do you think the crucial evidence should look like?”
Wen Wen answered, “Probably something like a diary, something that records emotions.”
According to Wen Wen’s reasoning, it should be something similar to a diary.
That would contain all the girl’s madness and obsessive love.
Unable to vent in real life, with no one to confide in, keeping all that love or hatred bottled up inside would only grow more painful day by day.
So, the best way to release those emotions would undoubtedly be writing a diary.
Before Jiang Chi could respond, sudden chaos erupted outside the infirmary, like a horde of ghosts passing through so dense that not even an ant could slip past.
“Why did you kill me?”
“Traitors deserve to die.”
“I’m so wronged, I just wanted to study in peace.”
In the darkness, the two exchanged a knowing glance. Wen Wen reacted first, pulling Jiang Chi under the infirmary’s only hiding spot beneath the desk.
