Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 44.2
Wen Wen led Jiang Chi straight to Qin Feng’s desk and reached into the compartment.
Empty!
The stacks of envelopes that had been there earlier were all gone!
She immediately went to the desk of the girl with long, straight black hair and found that the envelopes had disappeared there too.
It seemed her guess was right.
Earlier, when the classroom lights were still on, she had noticed that each desk was engraved with its owner’s name.
Under the swaying light in the classroom, Wen Wen made out the name carved into the desk, Ruan Yue.
They circled the classroom once more but found no useful clues.
Just as they stepped out of the classroom, a shrill scream echoed down the hallway, followed by a venomous curse: “You bitch! Fox-spawned harlot! Shamelessly seducing my man, all of you are filthy sluts!”
Earlier, in such sudden situations, Jiang Chi would immediately throw herself into Wen Wen’s arms. But this time, Wen Wen only felt the hand holding hers tremble slightly and grip tighter.
Yet that was all.
It seemed the puppy was truly angry.
Better find a time to coax her sooner rather than later.
Wen Wen carefully observed their surroundings. Once again, they could only hear sounds but saw no sign of the “ghost.” She led Jiang Chi toward the girls’ restroom.
Every line from the NPCs surely held meaning. Since their conversation had mentioned the girls’ restroom, there was a high chance clues could be found there.
In other words, the danger level would also be higher.
The floor had many rooms and corridors, each door marked with a plaque emitting an eerie green glow. Only by getting close could one read the text on them.
After some wandering, they finally reached the girls’ restroom. Aside from the faint, sinister green light at the entrance, the inside was pitch black, an abyss of darkness.
A hand briefly rested on Wen Wen’s arm so fleeting that if she hadn’t been paying attention to Jiang Chi’s state, she might not have even noticed it. The touch lasted only two seconds before being hastily withdrawn, as if Jiang Chi had quickly realized something.
On the way here, Wen Wen had tried talking to Jiang Chi. She wasn’t being ignored just met with indifferent “hmms,” clearly still upset. Stubborn and hard to coax, like now: instinctively reaching out in fear, yet stubbornly pulling back.
Wen Wen soothingly brushed her fingertips over Jiang Chi’s hand before leading her inside.
The moment they stepped in, the restroom lights flickered on.
It was larger and cleaner than expected. The tiled floor gleamed like a mirror, and instead of any foul odor, there was a faint floral fragrance.
The walkway was spacious. One side was lined entirely with stalls fully enclosed, reaching the ceiling while the other had a mix of stalls and sinks.
At that moment, three girls stood by the sinks, chatting as they washed their hands.
“I couldn’t resist checking the stall at the very end. The warning message really has gotten longer. It’s getting scarier.”
“Do you think it’s not someone from our school but an actual ghost haunting the place?” The girl in the middle glanced around nervously, her face pale.
“I don’t believe in ghosts, but this is seriously weird. If it were someone from school, how come no one’s found out who it is after all this time?”
“Hey, I heard it’s Liu Jingshan from the class next door.”
“Liu Jingshan? A guy? Sneaking into the girls’ restroom every day? What a creep!”
“Not sure, but Ruan Yue mentioned it. You know how she’s often sick and goes to the infirmary? She said one day, on her way back to class, she came here and saw Liu Jingshan running out of the restroom, wearing girls’ clothes!”
“Seriously? That’s disgusting!”
“Ugh, I’ve got goosebumps!”
As soon as the words fell, the lights snapped off, plunging the restroom back into darkness.
A breeze brushed past her hand, and Wen Wen instinctively pushed Jiang Chi behind her. She had been wondering why the NPCs in the classroom had suddenly disappeared apparently, they had taken advantage of the darkness to retreat through the back door. But now, the restroom had only one exit, and they were standing close to it. The NPCs would have to pass right by them to leave.
Suddenly, a chilling gust swept through the corridor, hitting her face. The vent window above slammed against the wall with a loud crash.
Soon after, maniacal, eerie laughter echoed from somewhere unknown.
Wen Wen’s eyelid twitched. The sound was clearly getting closer, it was too late to leave now.
Acting decisively, she grabbed Jiang Chi and ran toward the farthest stall.
Jiang Chi’s steps faltered noticeably as they entered, but she quickly followed Wen Wen inside.
The stall wasn’t tiny, but it wasn’t spacious either just enough to barely fit four people.
But that was only for normal people.
For Jiang Chi, this dark, enclosed, and cramped space was no different from a coffin.
Wen Wen remembered the first words Jiang Chi had spoken after being kidnapped years ago: “They locked me in a coffin.”
“They said if Dad didn’t send the money soon, they’d bury me tomorrow.”
“They hit me too, and didn’t give me food. I was so hungry and so scared.”
Feeling the trembling grip of Jiang Chi’s hand, Wen Wen silently cursed herself and reached to open the stall door.
But another hand shaking and ice-cold stopped her.
“Jiejie, no… I can do this, as long as you’re here.” Her breathing had grown noticeably heavier.
“We’ll take it slow,” Wen Wen squeezed her fingers. “Let’s leave now, and next time, I’ll help you overcome this, okay? Don’t push yourself.”
She reached for the door again, only to be stopped once more.
“No, Jiejie, I can do it. I want you to win.”
In the darkness, Wen Wen frowned tightly, pondering the meaning behind those words and whether they should really leave.
Before she could reach a decision, a pair of damp, cold lips pressed against her neck, nuzzling lightly.
“Jiejie, just do something to distract me.”
Do something?
The “ghost” was approaching. Singing was out of the question, it would be too loud, instantly exposing them like a spotlight and rendering their hiding place useless.
So then, the only option was…
