Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 26.2
Wen Wen imported the photos to her computer, printed them out, carefully placed them in a drawer, and then reviewed the meeting notes from that afternoon.
Time passed unnoticed until there was a knock at the door. It opened to reveal a head of red hair: “Sis, are you done? It’s time for dinner.”
Wen Wen froze for a second, momentarily thinking she was dreaming, until the person behind the door called out “Sis” again.
Snapping out of it, she glanced at the time on her computer screen, it was already 7:30.
“Okay, I’ll be right out,” she replied.
At the dinner table, Wen Wen looked at the bowl of rice already set at her place, feeling an indescribable emotion.
“Sis, I’ve found another reason why you need a roommate. When you’re working, do you often completely lose track of time?”
Her ulterior motives were written all over her face.
Wen Wen stared at her and nodded smoothly.
Jiang Chi nodded in satisfaction: “In that case, don’t you think you’re missing out on a beautiful, considerate roommate like me who can remind you to eat on time?”
“Not at all,” Wen Wen said without hesitation. “The housekeeper reminds me when dinner is ready.”
“That makes me even more necessary! With me around, you can save on hiring a housekeeper!”
Wen Wen swallowed a spoonful of soup and looked up at her: “Can you cook?”
Jiang Chi shook her head.
“Can you do housework?”
Another shake.
“But I can learn!” Jiang Chi said confidently. “Cooking and housework are nothing! Just give me a chance, Sis, and I’ll definitely learn! Besides, I feel like these things are easy if you have hands!”
Wen Wen seemed thoughtful as she set down her spoon: “Fine, I’ll give you a chance. If you can learn to make eight dishes and one soup, I’ll agree.”
“Deal! You said it!” Jiang Chi accepted the challenge without hesitation.
“Mm,” Wen Wen took another sip of soup. “I did. But until you learn, no more talk about living together. No matter how many times you bring it up, I won’t agree.”
She wasn’t worried at all. Knowing Jiang Chi, she might start learning but would never stick with it.
“Hmph, so cruel!”
After dinner, Jiang Chi sat on the floor, leisurely fiddling with a walnut, it took her ten minutes to crack just one.
This was her secret weapon to linger at Wen Wen’s place until she mastered eight dishes and one soup, so she had to make the most of it.
With ten minutes left until her show started, a car commercial featuring Wen Wen played on the TV in the living room. Jiang Chi paused her walnut-cracking to admire the face on the screen.
“Truly gorgeous,” she murmured appreciatively.
At that moment, the phone beside her suddenly chimed with a notification tone clearly customized for a specific person.
Jiang Chi picked up the phone. The contact name glaring back at her read “Su Jing My Darling.” The label sent a shiver down her spine. Without even reading the message, she immediately changed the contact name and replaced the custom notification tone, muttering under her breath, “Who do you think you are? How dare you get the same treatment as my sister here?”
After completing these adjustments, she finally checked the message.
[Jiang Chi, the proposal to have the company prioritize Bai Yue Tong was your idea, right? You’ve done well this time by compensating her before I even mentioned it. However, you were indeed in the wrong here. There’s absolutely nothing between me and her. Since you misunderstood her, this is the least you should do. Given this, I can overlook the harsh words you said the other day as long as you apologize properly, I’ll forgive you.]
Overlook?
Apologize again?
Is this guy out of his mind? Doesn’t he realize how contradictory his own words are?
Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate to smack her own forehead. “To have liked someone so delusional, you must’ve been seriously ill back then too!”
“And ‘done well’? Talk about patting yourself on the back.”
Her intention to compensate Bai Yue Tong stemmed solely from recognizing her past mistakes.
A flashback to last night’s events suddenly surfaced in her mind, and she clutched her head.
But if incidents like last night kept happening… how could she ever compensate enough?
And whether Bai Yue Tong would even accept her apologies was another matter entirely…
Ughhhhhh…
Jiang Chi silently screamed, ruffling her hair into a bird’s nest.
This damn plot control!
Right now, her only hope was that getting Su Jing and Bai Yue Tong together would be the key to breaking free from the storyline’s grip!
Otherwise, she truly had no idea where to even begin!
“She is the youngest Golden Statue Award winner in history.”
Her ears, previously tuned out from the world, suddenly caught this introduction from the TV. She looked up just as Wen Wen’s face delicate, stunning, and adorned with a faint smile filled the screen, captivating her instantly.
[Ahhhhhh wifey wifey so beautiful! drools]
[Wen Wen, my one and only wife!]
Wen Wen’s introduction was the last. The camera then panned to a scene of Su Jing, Wen Wen, and Jiang Chi together on a grassy field.
[Ugh, Jiang Chi the simp, still shamelessly making her obsession public! Can she just disappear already and stop polluting our screens?]
[Seriously! My Su Jing gege is so unlucky to be associated with this woman!]
[Wait! Why is that girl heading toward my wifey? Ahhhhh, don’t you dare touch Wen Wen! Get lost!]
Jiang Chi ignored the insults directed at her, but the third comment made her raise an eyebrow. Heh, not only did I touch her, I even moved into her house!
Wait her wifey?
She’s MY wifey!
The moment this thought crossed her mind, Jiang Chi startled so badly she leaped from the floor onto the couch, covering her mouth in shock.
What the hell?
What was she thinking?
If Wen Wen knew about this, she’d probably kick her out overnight!
She shook her head vigorously, trying to rid her mind of all the chaotic thoughts, when suddenly a pair of hands pressed down on her head.
Jiang Chi looked up to see Wen Wen smiling down at her teasingly, “Shaking it like that, do you not want this head anymore?”
With a dramatic wail, Jiang Chi threw herself into Wen Wen’s arms, wrapping her arms around her waist and nuzzling her face against Wen Wen’s stomach. “I don’t want it anymore, wuwuwu. Sister, my brain is broken.”
Wen Wen held the top of her head with one hand and lifted her chin with the other, looking at her seriously. “What a pity it would be to lose such a cute head and such a pretty face.”
Jiang Chi felt something explode inside her skull with a “boom” her brain was officially fried.
Wen Wen pinched her nose lightly. “If watching it doesn’t make you happy, then don’t watch it, hm?”
With that, she picked up the water glass from the table and returned to the study.
Jiang Chi stared dreamily at the spot where Wen Wen had disappeared behind the door, giggling to herself.
Sister called me cute.
She even said I’m pretty, hehe.
Sister comforted me too~
Does that mean, she can secretly imagine Wen Wen as her wife, and Wen Wen wouldn’t mind…?
After all, Sister is so nice.
Jiang Chi mercilessly smacked her own head.
It’s precisely because Wen Wen is so good that she shouldn’t project her fantasies onto her!
