Transmigrated into the Early-Deceased Alpha Fiancée of the Female Lead - Chapter 30
Zhu Changxuan silently considered how to defeat the Zombie King. If she used all of Tong Shifeng’s remaining power, there might be one chance.
She then calmly said to the others, “Earlier, I mentioned that I obtained an opportunity. It is time to use it.”
She explained her plan: first, release the one thousand elite skeleton soldiers to clear out the ordinary zombies in the city.
Then, General Lan Ping and a few others would join forces to deal with Lian Li in the main city. Meanwhile, she would face the Zombie King alone.
Once Zhu Changxuan finished outlining her plan, everyone was shocked and strongly disagreed with her going alone. Even if they did not know what power the mysterious expert had given her, they could not allow Zhu Changxuan to fight such a terrifying opponent by herself. None of them believed she could defeat the Zombie King alone.
The couples Zhu Shijing and Chen Tao, and Han Ying and Huayue, agreed that the best course of action was to retreat.
With the current situation, even if all of them at the Nascent Soul stage fought together, it might not be enough. After all, a peak Nascent Soul elder had already fallen to the Zombie King.
Han Xuejin could no longer hold back. She grabbed Zhu Changxuan’s wrist and pleaded, “Senior Sister Zhu, I do not agree with this plan either. Let’s return to the Demon Realm and come up with a better strategy.”
The others voiced their agreement.
But Zhu Changxuan shook her head, her voice firm. “We can’t retreat.”
Just then, an overwhelming surge of deadly energy descended from the sky. The flying vessel shook violently.
Within moments, the Zombie King and Lian Li appeared in the air before them.
Lian Li glared at them with hatred and sneered. “So it really is you. Ha. You came all this way just to die? Beg me now and I’ll give you a quicker death.”
Han Ying and the others were shocked and drew their swords, ready to fight.
The Zombie King wore a dark robe, and his skin had a sickly green hue. He said nothing but looked at them with disdain.
Zhu Changxuan quickly said, “Stick to the plan.”
She pulled her wrist free from Han Xuejin’s grasp and flew straight toward the Zombie King.
The others were alarmed and immediately followed.
In her mind, Zhu Changxuan called out to Tong Shifeng. Inside her sea of consciousness, she felt his presence, and he left her one final message.
“It’s time for me to go.”
Then he vanished.
The version of Zhu Changxuan inside her spiritual sea was stunned. What had happened outside?
In the real world, Zhu Changxuan released the one thousand skeleton soldiers from her storage pearl. They began attacking the zombies that had already poured out of the city.
General Lan Ping emerged, looked at Zhu Changxuan, then followed her silent instructions. He rode his skeletal warhorse into the air, holding a long spear, and charged at Lian Li.
Lian Li immediately raised his guard and felt a jolt of confusion. What was this skeleton general? His demonic energy could not harm it. That should not have been possible. His power was enough to injure even a Great Ascension cultivator.
Worse, Lan Ping’s attacks actually posed a real threat to him. No. This could not be real.
Zhu Changxuan released her own aura, one matching the Great Ascension stage, and slashed at the Zombie King with her sword, Mo Ting.
The Zombie King’s green eyes widened in surprise. He immediately summoned his weapon, a terrifying sword covered in sharp black spikes.
Han Xuejin and the others wanted to help Zhu Changxuan, but the sheer pressure from the Great Ascension-level battle between her and the Zombie King made it impossible for them to get close.
In an instant, Zhu Changxuan and the Zombie King clashed hundreds of times, sparks flying through the sky.
Though stunned by her terrifying strength, the others quickly remembered her plan. They turned their attention to helping Lan Ping fight Lian Li.
Song Yidao, whose cultivation was lower, could only watch anxiously from the flying vessel, powerless to help.
Lian Li, even while facing multiple Nascent Soul opponents, held his own with ease. He began analyzing their movements, looking for an opening.
He soon found one. He summoned two zombie cultivators who had learned flight: Dao Zhiming and Lotus Master. He sent them after Zhu Shijing and Chen Tao.
Though Lian Li could not harm Lan Ping directly, Lan Ping’s attack speed was slower than his. So Lian Li dodged Lan Ping’s strikes and turned his focus to the weaker ones, injuring Huayue and Si Chou one by one.
When Han Ying saw Huayue injured by Lian Li’s dark energy, her eyes turned blood red with rage. She unleashed her full power and struck at him with a blast of demonic energy.
Lian Li narrowed his eyes. How easy it was to exploit the anger of others.
He twisted his sword and wrapped his dark energy around Han Ying’s arm. As he was about to strike her neck, Han Xuejin rushed in with her Thousand Break sword to block the blow.
Lian Li responded with a hidden strike from behind, using a sliver of dark energy to sneak up on Han Xuejin.
Just as it was about to hit her, Lan Ping pierced through the dark mist with a lance, forcing Lian Li to retreat and allowing both Han Ying and Han Xuejin to escape the fatal blow.
Still, Han Ying was seriously wounded by the attack. Using all her remaining strength, she caught Huayue and Si Chou, who were both unconscious.
Han Xuejin quickly said, “Mother, take them back to the flying vessel.”
Han Ying saw the determination in her daughter’s eyes. Her daughter had truly grown up. But there was no time to think further.
“Xuejin, hold out. I’ll be back.”
She turned and flew away with the unconscious pair while Lan Ping and Han Xuejin continued fighting Lian Li together.
Back on the flying vessel, Han Ying was already exhausted. Just as she prepared to return to the battle, Lian Li’s lingering energy struck her again. She coughed up blood and collapsed.
Song Yidao rushed over and gave basic treatment to the wounded. She was no healer, but at least she could administer spirit-replenishing liquid to ease their suffering.
Just as she was about to warn the Demon Lord not to recklessly charge back into battle, Han Ying lost consciousness and collapsed in front of her.
Well, at least now she did not have to try and convince her.
Song Yidao continued giving them basic care, while looking up at the battle in the sky. It was like watching immortals fight, far beyond mortal reach.
Han Xuejin, still fighting, soon noticed something important. The skeleton general was unaffected by spiritual energy or demonic energy. He was immune to both.
Suddenly, an idea formed. Everything depended on this one chance.
Staring at Lian Li, who had become overly confident, she released all of her spiritual energy, turning it into bone-piercing cold. She sealed the area in ice, trapping herself, Lian Li, and Lan Ping together.
The freezing energy stunned Lian Li. Even his breath turned to ice crystals. His movements slowed dramatically.
Inside the icy domain, only Han Xuejin and Lan Ping remained unaffected.
“Now,” Han Xuejin shouted, “attack together!”
This freezing attack had drained all her spiritual energy. It would not last long.
Lan Ping immediately understood. He poured everything into one final strike, thrusting his spear toward Lian Li’s heart.
Han Xuejin, using the last of her strength and the power of her ultimate technique, swung her Thousand Break sword toward Lian Li’s neck.
Lian Li’s eyes widened in panic. He was too slow to dodge. He tried to catch the attacks with his bare hands.
But he could not stop them.
Lan Ping’s spear drove straight into his chest.
Han Xuejin’s sword followed immediately after, cleanly slicing off his head.
With Lian Li finally dead, they turned toward the two elite zombies still fighting Zhu Shijing and Chen Tao.
They rushed over to help.
With Han Xuejin and Lan Ping joining the fight, the two undead were finally destroyed.
All three of them were wounded, and their spiritual energy was nearly depleted. They returned to the flying vessel, exhausted and covered in blood.
Han Xuejin knew that aside from General Lan Ping, no one had the strength to fight anymore. She turned to him and asked, “General, can you go help Changxuan?”
Lan Ping shook his skeletal head. “I cannot approach that battle, nor can I keep up with their speed.”
Han Xuejin leaned weakly on her Thousand Break sword, her eyes full of worry as she looked toward the distant battle where Zhu Changxuan was still locked in combat with the Zombie King.
She could not see clearly what was happening, nor hear any of their words. Only the deafening sound of spiritual energy crashing could be heard.
The flying vessel was blocked by the immense pressure radiating from the fight. Even approaching slightly caused it to shake violently, as if it were about to tear apart.
Han Xuejin’s eyes turned red. She stared in the direction of Zhu Changxuan with all her might. Once again, she had said she would protect her, yet here Han Xuejin was—still powerless.
She silently blamed herself for being weak, while desperately praying that Zhu Changxuan would be all right.
Zhu Shijing and Chen Tao could do nothing but watch their daughter from afar, eyes full of worry, as they tended to the wounds of the three unconscious women.
Zhu Changxuan and the Zombie King had been fighting for a long time. With another blow, they separated briefly.
The Zombie King clenched his teeth and glared at her, his eyes filled with venom.
“I didn’t expect it. Other than that man, you’re the only powerful cultivator in this realm.”
Zhu Changxuan’s eyes narrowed slightly. “That man? Lian Li?”
The Zombie King sneered. “How could it possibly be that worthless fool?”
Zhu Changxuan frowned. “Then who?”
The Zombie King snorted arrogantly. “You think I’ll just tell you if you ask? You’re going to die here today. After that, I’ll turn all of you into zombies. You should be honored. You’re the first to force me to use my full strength.”
With that, the Zombie King summoned all his dark energy. In an instant, the sky turned black, completely covered in ghostly mist. He prepared to launch his final attack on Zhu Changxuan.
Those watching from the flying vessel saw the sky darken and became even more worried.
Zhu Changxuan raised the Mo Ting sword and released all of her spiritual power. This final move contained everything, including the secret power left to her by Tong Shifeng.
Suddenly, the sky changed. Above Zhu Changxuan, a storm of violet lightning began to gather. It split the darkness apart.
Thunder rumbled as several bolts of divine lightning struck down upon the Zombie King.
He did not even have time to react before he was reduced to ashes by the heavenly lightning.
Those aboard the flying vessel saw it all and were overwhelmed with joy.
Zhu Shijing stared in shock, mouth slightly open. “Heavenly lightning? Isn’t that something only cultivators at the Tribulation Stage can summon?”
Chen Tao could hardly believe her eyes. Was their daughter really that powerful?
Song Yidao silently swallowed. She felt like she had finally witnessed what it meant to be an immortal.
Though the Zombie King was defeated, Han Xuejin was still anxious. She needed to know if Zhu Changxuan was safe. Ignoring everyone’s warnings, she shakily flew her sword toward her.
At that moment, Zhu Changxuan looked down. The zombie army on the ground had been completely eliminated by the skeleton soldiers.
She summoned the one thousand elite warriors and General Lan Ping back into the space within her storage pearl.
Silently, she spoke to them, “Now, I will fulfill my promise to you. I will free you from these skeletal forms and let you return to the cycle of reincarnation.”
Lan Ping immediately protested. “No. You’ll die if you do that. I don’t want to reincarnate. You must live. Soldiers, speak your minds.”
The skeleton soldiers responded together, “What the general wishes, we all wish.”
Zhu Changxuan’s heart remained steady. “No. A promise is a promise. I cannot, for my own sake, let you wait in vain after two thousand years.”
Though Lan Ping continued to refuse, Zhu Changxuan used the last of her spiritual power to sacrifice her own soul.
The dark energy binding the skeletons began to fade. One by one, they were freed, returning to the cycle of reincarnation.
No one outside knew what happened inside the storage pearl.
To release the spirits of General Lan Ping and his army, it required a willing cultivator at or above the Nascent Soul stage to offer their soul. Only this balance of sacrifice could avoid violating the laws of Heaven.
Thanks to Tong Shifeng’s help, her spiritual form had long surpassed the Nascent Soul stage.
At that moment, Han Xuejin reached her. She flew close and caught Zhu Changxuan just as her body started to fall.
Zhu Changxuan looked at Han Xuejin, then closed her eyes. She could no longer hold on.
To the other version of herself, she thought quietly, “From here on, you must walk the path alone.”
Han Xuejin held her tightly, panic rising in her voice. “Senior Sister Zhu!”
Zhu Changxuan struggled to open her heavy eyelids. In her blurry vision, she saw her strong junior sister in tears.
With the last of her strength, she whispered gently, “Until we meet again.”
A soft sigh from Tong Shifeng echoed in her mind.
And then, both their presences disappeared.
