Transmigrated into the Early-Deceased Alpha Fiancée of the Female Lead - Chapter 25
Bi Ci was full of suspicion and fear. She knew she had to act first. Gathering her energy, she prepared to deliver a fatal strike to the now-unpredictable Zhu Changxuan.
Zhu Changxuan stared at Bi Ci with lifeless eyes. Her grip tightened slightly around Mo Ting as she effortlessly blocked Bi Ci’s sword again.
The clash of blades sparked in the air. The two stood locked in a deadly standoff. Zhu Changxuan’s expression remained calm, while Bi Ci’s face twisted with fury.
Her sword aura was powerful enough to crush the trees behind Zhu Changxuan. Yet, Zhu Changxuan stood completely unscathed, casually blocking every strike.
Zhu Changxuan stepped forward and kicked toward Bi Ci’s body.
Reacting quickly, Bi Ci raised her left elbow to block the blow.
A sharp crack echoed as the bones in her arm shattered.
She clenched her teeth in pain and quickly channeled spiritual energy to numb it.
Then she heard Zhu Changxuan’s cold, lifeless voice.
“I’ll end your story first.”
The fear of death exploded from within Bi Ci. Her face turned pale. Although Zhu Changxuan still had that beautiful, captivating face, in this moment, Bi Ci felt only terror.
She had no time to respond. Zhu Changxuan struck her with a single powerful blow that sent her flying.
Coughing up blood as she hit the ground, Bi Ci felt like half her life had been knocked out of her.
Her mind raced. She needed a plan. The situation was critical. Lian Li, that bastard, was unreliable. He had done nothing to help and just watched from the sidelines.
She was completely defeated, and even running away would be nearly impossible. One more strike and she would die. And Lian Li might not even be able to defeat this suddenly terrifying Zhu Changxuan.
Making a split-second decision, Bi Ci swallowed a “Return to the West” pill and a pain-numbing pill. She shut her eyes tightly and collapsed, faking death.
This would give her one hour of death-like stillness, at the cost of being unable to use spiritual power during that time.
Zhu Changxuan glanced at Bi Ci’s lifeless body, but didn’t pay her much attention. Her eyes shifted to Lian Li, who had been observing in silence the entire time. This man was the real threat.
She needed to eliminate him.
She raised her hand and threw off her ceremonial red robe, tossing it to the side. Pointing her sword at Lian Li, she said coldly,
“Now it’s your turn.”
Lian Li stared at her with a dark and calculating gaze. Why had this alpha become so unnaturally powerful all of a sudden? He couldn’t afford to take the risk. Too much time had already passed, and people from the Demon Realm might arrive soon.
He gave a quick order. The two black-clad zombies at his side rushed toward Zhu Changxuan while he turned and fled.
Zhu Changxuan cut one down with a clean strike, then turned and kicked the other into the air. But moments later, both zombies leapt back up and charged at her again.
Her eyes narrowed. Her attacks weren’t doing much damage.
Zombies. Troublesome. It would be a waste of time to fight them head-on.
She decided to go straight for the source.
She threw Mo Ting into the sky, leapt up, and stepped onto the sword, flying after Lian Li.
The two zombies hesitated briefly before following after her in hot pursuit.
At the same time, Han Xuejin burst into Zhu Changxuan’s room and grabbed Yu Meiren, who was still lounging like a salted fish.
Because of Zhu Changxuan’s influence, Yu Meiren had changed form. Her limbs were shorter, and her body was covered in white fur. Her once-scaly fish tail had turned into a fuzzy black puff, making her look like a little charcoal ball with a tail.
The only thing that remained the same was her loud, aunty-like voice.
Yu Meiren was startled awake.
“Ah? What? What happened?”
Then she saw Han Xuejin’s expression, more terrifying than usual, and those burning eyes full of suppressed anger.
Yu Meiren fell silent. Her mistress was nowhere to be seen. Could it be that she had fled because she couldn’t handle Han Xuejin’s cold personality?
No, that couldn’t be. The two of them usually respected each other, and the love in their eyes could drown a fish.
Han Xuejin’s voice cut through Yu Meiren’s thoughts.
“Can you sense Changxuan’s condition and where she is? She was taken by someone.”
When Han Xuejin said the word “taken,” Yu Meiren could almost feel her imagining whipping the kidnapper a thousand times.
Yu Meiren trembled.
“I I can try.”
She checked the spiritual pet contract. Thankfully, it was still intact, meaning Zhu Changxuan was alive. But her condition did not seem good.
“She’s still alive. I don’t know the exact location, but it’s in the southeast.”
Knowing Zhu Changxuan was still alive, a heavy weight lifted from Han Xuejin’s heart.
She quickly picked up Yu Meiren and took off on her sword. As she passed the main hall, she paused, thought for a moment, then grabbed Sui Sheng along the way.
Sui Sheng was still dazed. She had just heard from a demon soldier that Zhu Changxuan had been kidnapped.
A long while after Zhu Changxuan left, Bi Ci slowly opened one eye. The others were gone. Only her two subordinates lay nearby, playing dead just like her.
The “Return to the West” pill made her look dead for an hour, but it also rendered her powerless during that time.
Just as she was about to get up, a striking figure in red appeared in front of her. It was Han Xuejin.
Bi Ci’s heart leapt into her throat. She quickly shut her eyes and held her breath, pretending to be dead again.
Han Xuejin picked up the red wedding robe Zhu Changxuan had left behind.
The robe, and the bloodstains on it, carried Zhu Changxuan’s scent. It was her blood.
Han Xuejin’s heart clenched. She held the robe tightly in her arms.
Suppressing her panic and fear, she asked calmly,
“Can you find the direction?”
Yu Meiren answered,
“Yes, that way.”
Han Xuejin stored the wedding robe in her spatial pouch and continued flying in the direction Yu Meiren had pointed.
Once Han Xuejin was gone, Bi Ci scrambled to her feet. She didn’t stop running. The scent of blood was thick, and others from the Demon Realm could arrive at any moment. There was no way she could return now.
Elsewhere, Zhu Shijing and Chen Tao searched alongside Han Ying and Hua Yue. When they discovered traces of blood and two demon soldier corpses, the trail went cold.
Zhu Shijing said with regret,
“I should have given Changxuan a Soul stone. Then we could have tracked her location.”
Chen Tao’s eyes were fixed on the blood that Zhu Changxuan had left behind, filled with worry.
Han Ying and Hua Yue both looked grim.
Zhu Shijing handed a jade token to Han Ying.
“Let’s split up and search. If any of us finds Changxuan, use this to send a message.”
Han Ying accepted the token and nodded.
“Alright.”
As Zhu Shijing and the others left, Han Ying’s gaze turned cold. She would never forgive the traitor. At the same time, she was consumed by guilt.
Hua Yue took her hand firmly, and the two of them headed in another direction.
Lian Li could feel Zhu Changxuan’s presence closing in from behind. He clenched his teeth in frustration.
Just ahead was the infamous Ghost Domain, a place in the cultivation world known for its deadly aura and deathly energy. Few dared to venture near it, let alone enter, because those who did would quickly lose their sense of direction. Almost no one ever came back out.
But Lian Li was not afraid. His cultivation technique was similar in nature to the deathly aura of the Ghost Domain. To him, entering it felt like returning home.
Zhu Changxuan didn’t hesitate. She followed him straight into the Ghost Domain. A short while later, the two zombies also bounced after her.
Time passed. Zhu Changxuan frowned slightly as she looked around. The surroundings were dark, filled with thick, swirling mist. The sun was completely blocked out. Even after pursuing Lian Li for dozens of miles, she had lost his trail.
She could no longer sense the male alpha, nor see the two zombies.
Zhu Changxuan pressed a hand to her chest. The blood on her ceremonial robe had dried, turning dark red.
She couldn’t call on Tong Shifeng to help her find him. The last time Tong Shifeng assisted her, it nearly triggered a backlash from the Heavenly Dao. The wound from being pierced through the heart was severe, and the blade had been coated in poison. But for Zhu Changxuan, pain like this was nothing new.
The immortal who had left spiritual power within the fairy wand was Tong Shifeng. Zhu Changxuan had asked for his name once.
According to him, the male alpha would one day bring disaster to the cultivation world. If she could eliminate him now, that threat would disappear. But he had escaped, and who knew how many zombies he had already created? Destroying them would be difficult.
Still, her immediate problem was the Ghost Domain.
She had been flying for a long time but made no progress. It felt as though she was circling the same spot over and over.
Suddenly, a spear shot out toward her. She quickly dodged.
To her surprise, the spear twisted in mid-air and came at her again.
Zhu Changxuan swung her sword and cut the spear in half. Strangely, the broken halves quickly rejoined, making the weapon whole again.
The spear didn’t attack her again. Instead, it flew down to the ground.
Moments later, a skeleton warrior on a skeletal horse burst from the earth. The armored skeleton gripped the spear tightly.
More and more skeletons began breaking through the ground. They were all clad in armor, holding spears and iron shields.
These skeletal soldiers formed orderly ranks behind the skeleton general riding the horse.
Dark mist curled around them. Blue flames burned in their hollow eye sockets. The dense formation of skeletal warriors stretched as far as the eye could see, their presence terrifying.
The general let out a heavy growl toward Zhu Changxuan.
“Leave!”
But Zhu Changxuan didn’t move. She looked at the skeletal army and formed a bold idea.
Descending from the sky, she landed before the general.
The soldiers remained motionless behind him.
The skeletal general stared at her with his cold blue gaze.
Zhu Changxuan met his eyes directly.
“Are you General Lan?”
When Han Xuejin arrived near the edge of the Ghost Domain, Yu Meiren panicked.
“T That’s the Ghost Domain. What do we do? Master is inside!”
As soon as she heard that Zhu Changxuan had entered, Han Xuejin’s expression hardened with determination. Without hesitation, she entered the Ghost Domain.
Once inside, Yu Meiren quickly lost her sense of direction. The effects of the Ghost Domain were strong, and she could no longer pinpoint Zhu Changxuan’s location.
Han Xuejin searched for a long time but found no trace of her.
The more time passed, the heavier the anxiety in her chest grew.
Just as she was beginning to feel overwhelmed, Sui Sheng suddenly cried out in excitement.
“Over there! That tree is a Mirror Tree!”
It was said that the Mirror Tree was a divine tree that could reveal the past and the future.
Han Xuejin rushed forward. But as she approached, hundreds of vines shot toward her.
She drew her sword, gathered her icy aura, and swung. The vines instantly froze. With another swing, they shattered into pieces.
The Mirror Tree immediately realized it had picked the wrong fight.
“Ah, don’t hit me, don’t hit me! I was just joking! Beautiful immortal, do you want to see the past or the future?”
Han Xuejin got straight to the point.
“Can you show me how Changxuan is right now?”
The Mirror Tree blinked.
“Changxuan?”
Han Xuejin took a deep breath.
“My wife.”
The Mirror Tree suddenly understood.
“Oh, I see, I see.”
Noticing her wedding attire, the Mirror Tree figured she must be worried about whether their marriage would be a happy one. She was so impatient that she had come to ask on the day of the wedding. How sweet.
The tree chuckled and decided to show something romantic and harmonious.
A mirror appeared from its trunk, and the surface slowly revealed an image.
In that image, two pale bodies were entangled…
Within an instant, Han Xuejin’s sword slashed through the mirror, shattering the scene.
The Mirror Tree flinched in shock.
Had it done something wrong?
Han Xuejin turned away with an angry expression and glared at Sui Sheng and Yu Meiren.
Yu Meiren immediately dropped to the ground.
“Ah, I’m blind. I saw nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
Sui Sheng stared wide-eyed at Yu Meiren and silently thought,
Why are you so good at this?
Sui Sheng quickly mimicked Yu Meiren’s reaction.
“I’m blind too. I didn’t see anything. I saw nothing of Master and Xuanzuan… being affectionate.”
Han Xuejin said nothing.
Yu Meiren remained quiet as well. In her mind, she muttered,
“This one is hopeless. Just pure dead weight.”
Han Xuejin shot Sui Sheng a sharp look, her eyes like blades. She chose to let it go for now. What mattered most was finding Changxuan.
She forced herself to push the vivid and embarrassing image from earlier out of her mind.
She spoke again, her voice calm but firm.
“I want to know where Changxuan is right now.”
The Mirror Tree hesitated. Was her wife trying to run away from the wedding? It dared not ask and instead focused on answering the question. But showing the present moment was difficult.
It fumbled for words.
“Well, um, the thing is…”
Han Xuejin was already growing impatient.
“Answer quickly. Can you do it or not?”
The Mirror Tree finally responded.
“Actually, I can only reflect events from one month in the future or anything from the past. I cannot show what is happening at this exact moment.”
Han Xuejin remained silent.
Without a word, she grabbed the two so-called fainted spirit pets and turned to leave, showing no hesitation.
The tips of her ears were slightly red.
If what the Mirror Tree had shown was truly something from one month in the future, then that meant she would definitely find Changxuan. And Changxuan would still be safe and well.
The Mirror Tree watched her disappear into the distance. Its leaves swayed quietly in the wind.
She left just like that. Not even a glance at anything else?
What a shame. It had been so long since the Mirror Tree had seen a living visitor.
