- Transmigrated Into a Scummy Alpha Who Stole the Male Lead's Mermaid Fiancée
- Chapter 49 - Keeping the Appointment
Yu Ke and Lan Xing changed their outfits. Yu Ke put on a golden wig, wore the dress Lan Xing usually wore, and paired it with a pair of Mary Jane shoes. She looked completely different from her usual self, and Lan Xing couldn’t help but exclaim, “So adorable!”
Yu Ke’s expression remained mostly unchanged. As an Alpha, she possessed a perfect female figure: tall, well-proportioned, with elegant muscle lines. Even in a princess-style dress, she carried it well, though it felt somewhat incongruous.
Lan Xing personally adjusted her wig and bangs, then couldn’t resist kissing her forehead, smiling like a child.
Lan Xing wore a black suit with wide-leg trousers, accentuating her proportions with a white belt around her waist. Her stiletto heels made her look sharp and refined. When she smiled at Yu Ke, Yu Ke almost expected her to salute next.
Before they set off, Zhang Jun contacted them. Somehow, he had learned about the trouble Yu Ke and Lan Xing were facing and offered to arrange a security detail for them.
Lan Xing had always regarded Zhang Jun as a close friend and gladly accepted his help.
Unexpectedly, ten minutes later, Zhang Jun himself appeared among the guards. As soon as he stepped out, he gave Lan Xing an enthusiastic hug.
The two embraced briefly, without any cheek-kissing or similar gestures. Yu Ke watched from the side, only frowning slightly.
After greeting Lan Xing, Zhang Jun turned to Yu Ke and said with a chuckle, “Your Highness, you look absolutely adorable.”
“Please don’t use ‘adorable’ to describe me,” Yu Ke replied coldly. “I don’t care for such a description.”
“Haha,” Zhang Jun teased, “If you’d smile a little more, I’m sure you’d be even more adorable.”
Yu Ke ignored his remark, boarded the aircraft, fastened her seatbelt, and asked, “How is your father’s health? I saw your assistant at the hospital yesterday.”
“Uh,” Zhang Jun’s smile faded. He tugged at his collar uncomfortably and said, “Overall, it’s not good. According to the doctors, he might last another year or two, but I think during that time, he’ll just be maintaining his blood circulation, no consciousness, no different from being dead.”
Yu Ke glanced at him in surprise, while Lan Xing said, “My condolences.”
“It’s alright. I knew this day would come,” Zhang Jun lowered his head and smiled faintly. “The old man has lived a long life and can’t fight any longer.”
“But the Prime Minister’s life is crucial to the order and peace of the interstellar community,” Yu Ke said calmly. “This will be a significant event.”
“The policies my father upheld will be carried out, I can assure you of that,” Zhang Jun sighed. “Let’s not talk about him. Let’s discuss the details of this mission. From what I’ve heard, something happened with the clones?”
“How did you find out?”
“Someone from the orphanage told me,” Zhang Jun said, showing a hint of guilt as he shrugged. “It’s not like I planted a spy there, just someone I happened to know…”
“That’s understandable,” Yu Ke said. “We caused quite a stir at the orphanage. It’d be hard not to know about it.”
“So, what are you planning to do?” Zhang Jun asked, growing somewhat agitated. “I firmly oppose sending the clone children away. I believe they have human rights and are free citizens, just like us!”
“You should have said that during the election,” Yu Ke chuckled softly. “This world lacks politicians like you to speak up for them.”
Lan Xing agreed, “Brother Jun probably has that intention.”
“I… I’m not sure,” Zhang Jun said. “I actually still want to leave this place and go to Panda Planet.”
The three shared a knowing smile.
The address Isabelle provided was in another country on Datianxi Planet called Victoria. However, Zhang Jun’s aircraft had stealth capabilities, allowing them to bypass aerial surveillance and reach the vicinity of the location.
Before arriving, they had studied satellite maps and devised a thorough plan and deployment strategy.
The site was an abandoned weapons factory, but unexpectedly, it was heavily guarded by sentinels carrying heavy firearms.
“If we can confirm Isabelle is here, then this is evidence that illegal experiments are being conducted within Victoria’s borders,” Zhang Jun said angrily. “Datianxi is the freest and most democratic nation in the Twin Star System. How can we allow such things to happen on our planet?”
“Don’t alert them,” Yu Ke cautioned. “Keep all escort ships in stealth mode. We must not reveal our presence.”
“Understood.” Zhang Jun sent orders to the accompanying escort ships, instructing them to remain cloaked and not to land under any circumstances.
Lan Xing contacted Isabelle, sending her first reply: “How do I find you?”
In truth, Lan Xing had not given Isabelle any definite response before this. She had quietly arrived at the provided address with a group of people, aiming to catch Isabelle off guard.
While waiting for Isabelle’s reply, Yu Ke and Zhang Jun observed the weapons factory.
“There are two entrances in total,” Zhang Jun analyzed through his binoculars. “Two guards at the north gate with two heavy machine guns. Four at the south gate with one heavy machine gun, one tracking cannon, and two likely carrying handguns.” He paused mid-sentence, hesitating to continue.
Lan Xing sighed, “The security is really tight.”
Yu Ke picked up where she left off, “It’s fine. Our goal is Isabelle’s intel, to destroy the cloned human data files in her possession. Once we achieve that, we leave immediately.”
“Mm-hmm,” Lan Xing nodded, her bright eyes fixed on Yu Ke. “I believe in you, sister!”
Like a lighthouse in the fog, Yu Ke felt that with Lan Xing by her side, she would never lose her way.
Five minutes passed, and Isabelle still hadn’t replied. Lan Xing grew anxious, “This shouldn’t be happening…”
Seeing this, Yu Ke made a swift decision. “Zhang Jun, take Lan Xing and retreat. Isabelle might have played us.”
Zhang Jun hesitated briefly, but at that moment, the aircraft’s alarm blared, anti-air missiles were launched from the ground, blindly firing toward their position!
“Warning! Warning! Incoming missiles!”
Zhang Jun swerved sharply to evade, but more anti-air missiles followed. Simultaneously, a video call request came through the aircraft’s system.
Zhang Jun accepted the call, and a young, beautiful face appeared on the screen. She smiled faintly, her voice crackling through the static but still carrying that gentle, terrifying tone, “I knew you would come, Your Highness.”
Yu Ke sat in the co-pilot’s seat. With her makeup done to look sweet and her hairstyle altered, at first glance on the video, she could easily be mistaken for Lan Xing.
“You haven’t disappointed me, little princess,” Isabelle chuckled softly. “I know your genetic code well and understand your personality perfectly. With your way of doing things, you would never let this matter slide. Dear, you’re so easy to read.”
“They will come to pick you up. Cooperate with me, it’s very simple. What I want is also very straightforward.”
Lan Xing was terrified. Sitting in the back seat, out of the camera’s view, she shuddered at the thought of Isabelle.
To this day, they still weren’t sure whether Isabelle was an Alpha or an Omega, but the overwhelming dominance she exuded was a quality many Alphas lacked.
Yu Ke ended the communication and turned to Zhang Jun. “Stick to the original plan. I’ll go meet Isabelle. You protect Lan Xing for me. Next, I want you both to return to the escort ship.”
“Sis!” Lan Xing nearly cried out. “I don’t want this!”
“Listen to me just this once,” Yu Ke turned to her with a gentle smile. “I’m an Alpha. I’m not afraid of those with machine guns, nor am I afraid of Isabelle. You just need to hide well and stay out of Isabelle’s reach. Then, I’ll be fine.”
Lan Xing certainly didn’t believe that, but she had always obeyed Yu Ke. What good would it do to argue now?
Staring blankly at Yu Ke’s face, she uttered the most willful words she had ever spoken in her life: “You must come back safely. If anything happens to you, I’ll kill myself to join you immediately!”
Yu Ke felt as if her heart had been struck by an ancient bell, leaving her dizzy and disoriented. Speechless for a moment, she didn’t know how to respond. Her lips moved slightly, and she only managed to say, “Don’t say that.” The frigate received the order and docked with their aircraft.
After sending off Lan Xing and Zhang Jun, Yu Ke activated autopilot and flew the aircraft alone, landing it in front of the factory.
As the aircraft touched down, dust and fallen leaves were kicked up. Seven or eight men, dressed as soldiers and carrying machine guns, appeared before her, their weapons aimed at Yu Ke.
With the communicator still in her ear, Yu Ke heard Zhang Jun’s voice: “Sis Ke, I’ve been meaning to say this earlier, these guys don’t seem like soldiers. Their weapons have logos on them, and I just remembered, they might be part of the Jingba Pirates!”
Yu Ke: “…”
Yu Ke was utterly speechless. This time, she had really stumbled into a mess. Dealing with Isabelle alone was bad enough, but now she had to face these troublesome pirates.
Yes, the Jingba Pirates were the notorious group from the Twin Star System, the same ones who had previously conspired with Queen Jiao to kidnap Lan Xing!
After a moment of silence, Zhang Jun whispered, “Are you still there?”
“Mm,” Yu Ke replied with a noncommittal tone, her expression stern.
Zhang Jun hesitated. “Maybe you should come back. We can turn around and pick you up. These pirates are a big deal, I don’t know why they’re here, but we definitely can’t afford to provoke them.”
“It’s too late for that now,” Yu Ke said with extreme calm. “Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Since fate has brought us together here, we might as well settle old scores.”
A sharp, piercing “hiss” came from the communicator, disrupted by some kind of interference. Yu Ke frowned, her gaze settling on a slender figure directly ahead.
The woman emerged from the main entrance, clad in black leather from head to toe, a fitted jacket, pants, and knee-high boots. Her posture was ramrod straight, and her appearance was striking enough to leave a lasting impression at first glance.
The moment Yu Ke laid eyes on her, her heartbeat faltered for a split second.
She swallowed hard, unsure how to feel about encountering this person.
If it had been Isabelle approaching, Yu Ke might have maintained her composure and navigated the situation with caution. But the person before her now was someone she had never expected to see here.
Jenny.
How could Jenny, the devoted maid who served her diligently in the Ferrari Palace, appear on this planet, in this exact location?
Clearly, Jenny was just as shocked as Yu Ke, but she quickly regained control of her expression. She stared coldly at the woman in front of her, scrutinizing her for a moment before addressing her in a measured tone: “Princess Lan Xing.”
