Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 66
When Shen Xian came out of the bathroom, she headed straight for Tiantian’s room. The little one had just woken up and was sitting on the bed in a daze.
Chuckling, Shen Xian sat down beside her. “Tiantian, you’re up! How was your first night sleeping on your own?”
Tiantian nodded, the little tuft of hair on top of her head sticking up messily, and threw herself into Shen Xian’s arms. “I missed Mommy.”
Shen Xian hugged her close, praising gently, “Tiantian is amazing! Kids who can sleep on their own are all very impressive. You’ve got to keep it up, okay? And don’t forget—Mr. Bear kept you company too.”
As soon as she heard Mommy’s praise, Tiantian eagerly nodded, rubbing her fluffy head against Shen Xian with a spoiled little smile. “Okay!”
After helping her get dressed and washed up, Shen Xian took her downstairs. On the other side, Lin Qinghan had already prepared breakfast.
Since this was the first time Tiantian woke up in the morning without someone at her side, she clung to both moms extra tightly during breakfast.
After dropping Tiantian off at school, Shen Xian drove Lin Qinghan to the hospital. “Qinghan, your schedule’s really too hectic—so little rest, and you still have to work overtime. Have you ever considered coming to the company?”
“The company? But I’ve never worked in the private sector before. I’m not sure I can handle it. Better not for now.” Lin Qinghan thought for a moment.
Shen Xian smiled. “Alright. Just think about it. If you join, I’ll guide you personally. You’ll get the hang of it in no time.”
Lin Qinghan gave her a sideways glance and chuckled softly. “You really can’t go a day without me, can you?”
Still driving, Shen Xian’s lips curved upward. “That’s right. Especially after we shared a room last night, I think I’m even more addicted to you.”
“Ugh, you’re so annoying. If you keep talking nonsense, I’m not talking to you anymore.” Lin Qinghan shot her a glare.
“Okay, I’ll shut up. I’m a good girl, I’ll behave.” Shen Xian promised with a grin that gave away her amusement.
Ten minutes later, Shen Xian pulled up at Lin Qinghan’s workplace. As usual, Lin Qinghan said goodbye, unbuckled her seatbelt, and reached for the door handle—but no matter how many times she tried, the door wouldn’t budge. She turned back and saw Shen Xian watching her with a smirk.
“What are you doing? We’re here—open the door.” Lin Qinghan looked puzzled.
Shen Xian chuckled, took her hand, and teased, “Qinghan, did you forget something?” She tapped her finger against her own lips.
Lin Qinghan’s ears turned pink. She lightly smacked Shen Xian’s arm. “Stop fooling around. I’m going to be late.”
Shen Xian pursed her lips with exaggerated grievance. “What, I can’t even get a goodbye kiss from my own wife?”
Lin Qinghan’s gaze briefly dropped to her lips, her throat tightening slightly. She squeezed Shen Xian’s hand. “How come I never realized you were so full of nonsense before?”
“Well, it’s never too late to find out.” Shen Xian leaned in, stopping just a fist’s distance away, clearly waiting for Lin Qinghan to kiss her first.
Lin Qinghan’s cheeks burned at the warmth of Shen Xian’s breath. She reached up, wrapped her arms around Shen Xian’s neck, and smiled as she pressed a kiss to her lips. Just as she tried to pull away, Shen Xian’s arm circled her waist, holding her in place.
“You’re only giving me one kiss?” Shen Xian grinned. “Then it’s my turn now.”
Laughing and exasperated, Lin Qinghan tried to push her away. “I need to go to work—be good… mmph—”
Before she could finish, Shen Xian kissed her again. Unlike Lin Qinghan’s light peck, Shen Xian’s lips moved softly and slowly, deepening the kiss until their breaths mingled and their tongues intertwined. Her hand slipped under Lin Qinghan’s jacket, brushing against her waist, sending tingles up her spine. Lin Qinghan finally summoned the last of her willpower to push her away.
She swatted Shen Xian’s hand off her waist, her face still flushed. “Stop messing around. If I don’t leave now, I really will be late.”
Satisfied with the kiss, Shen Xian beamed. “Qinghan, wait a sec—your lipstick’s smudged.”
She took out a backup lipstick from the car’s compartment and gently wiped the edge of Lin Qinghan’s mouth, carefully reapplying the color.
Lin Qinghan glared at the culprit painting her lips. “Still smiling? This is all your fault.”
“Yes, it’s my fault for loving you too much. I just hate watching you walk away.” Shen Xian reluctantly pulled her hand back and unlocked the door.
Lin Qinghan couldn’t help laughing. “It’s not like we won’t see each other again. I’m off. Drive safe.”
“Okay.” Shen Xian waited until Lin Qinghan entered the hospital before finally driving off.
As Lin Qinghan walked toward the hospital entrance, she glanced at her phone’s reflection and realized Shen Xian had picked a deeper shade of lipstick than she usually wore. She usually preferred lighter colors.
She pursed her lips, not quite used to it—until she remembered what had just happened in the car. Her lips curved up again, involuntarily.
Even her colleague Han Rui noticed the change. “What’s with the grin? Something good happen—don’t tell me it’s because of your Shen Xian again?”
“Why does it have to be her?” Lin Qinghan tried to deflect, but her smile only grew at the mention of Shen Xian.
“Yeah, right. Look in a mirror and tell me that smile’s not because of her.”
“Fine, it is. Our daughter’s already four. Can’t I be happy?” Lin Qinghan chuckled as she sorted through her things.
Han Rui gave her a playful nudge. “So when are we getting our wedding candy?”
Lin Qinghan smiled. “That’s up to Shen Xian. It’s not like an Omega can propose first.”
Judging by Lin Qinghan’s expression, Han Rui knew the big day probably wasn’t far off. “Got it. I’ve got your red envelope ready, so your Shen Xian better move quickly—I’m waiting.”
“Deal,” Lin Qinghan replied with a grin.
Over at the company, Shen Xian was in an especially good mood thanks to that kiss in the car. On top of that, Zhao Xiaoyan’s team had made solid progress with the short video project, and since the team hadn’t had a proper gathering yet, Shen Xian had Shang Yunbo and Xiao Yue book a venue for a company dinner.
Xiao Yue passed the word along, and all the sociable staff were excited.
After signing off on a stack of documents, Shen Xian called Lin Qinghan. The phone connected quickly.
“Qinghan, are you busy?”
“Not right now. What’s up?” Lin Qinghan asked with a soft smile.
“The company just got started, and I’ve never hosted a get-together. I was thinking of having dinner with the team tonight. Will Mrs. Shen do me the honor of joining?”
Lin Qinghan tapped her fingers on the desk. “Isn’t it a company dinner? Wouldn’t it be weird if I showed up?”
“What’s weird about it? You’re my wife, which means the company’s yours too. Come declare your territory a little.” Shen Xian chuckled.
“Declare my territory, huh? Well, beg me and I might consider it.”
Shen Xian played along, laughing, “Please, Mrs. Shen, come with me. I’m so clingy—I can’t manage without you.”
“Alright then, since you’re begging. I guess I’ll come—grudgingly.” Lin Qinghan said the words, but her smile was all too real.
“Thanks, Mrs. Shen. I’ll come pick you up after work.” Shen Xian chatted with her a bit longer before ending the call.
Then she phoned Fang Jinglan to ask her to look after Tiantian that evening.
After work, the employees made their way to the hotel in small groups. Shen Xian picked up Lin Qinghan and drove them there.
“Shen Xian, if someone offers you a drink, don’t go overboard,” Lin Qinghan reminded her.
“Don’t worry. I’m not into that whole drinking culture thing—just a nice dinner to relax.” Shen Xian smiled.
By the time they arrived, most of the employees were already there. Shen Xian held Lin Qinghan’s hand as they walked to the main table and told Xiao Yue to start bringing out the food.
Some of the senior staff joked, “Boss Shen’s treating us today. Got anything to say?”
Shen Xian, respected for her capability and seriousness, stood up with a gentle smile and said, “No need to be nervous. The company’s still new—I just wanted to gather everyone for a relaxed meal. Think of it like dinner with friends. And just to be clear, no drinking games. If you want to drink, go ahead, but no forcing anyone.”
The room visibly relaxed. Shen Xian took Lin Qinghan’s hand and introduced her, “This is my wife, Lin Qinghan. You’re all family now. Feel free to relax during dinners like this—but I’m still strict when it comes to work.”
“Great! If there’s no pressure to drink, I’ll stick with juice,” Song Min laughed.
“Drink whatever you want,” Shen Xian replied. She had always hated drinking culture in her past life—loud toasts, forced drinking—it was pointless. Being rich and powerful meant she could set her own rules, and she handled all her business in the office, never on the dinner table. Same in this life.
Once the food arrived, seeing that Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan were drinking juice, most others followed suit. Who really wanted to get drunk at a company dinner anyway?
Shen Xian helped Lin Qinghan ladle soup and peel shrimp as usual.
“Stop peeling them. Your staff’s watching,” Lin Qinghan muttered, embarrassed.
“So what? Can’t I peel shrimp for my wife?” Shen Xian smiled and continued peeling until she had a small bowl full.
Several employees sneaked glances at the couple, gossiping excitedly in their group chat:
“OMG, Boss Shen peeled shrimp for her wife—it was so sweet! She’s so gentle when she talks to her too!”
“Ugh, she’s hot, capable, and spoils her wife—I want a Boss Shen too!”
“Dream on. Maybe she’ll visit you in your dreams.”
“LOL, they don’t even look like they’ve been married for years. Still in the honeymoon phase!”
“I call dibs on this CP!”
“Me too!”
But not everyone was basking in the wholesome vibes. Kang Hai, head of the short video app design team, considered himself a seasoned veteran. He came over with a wine glass.
“President Shen, we haven’t worked together long, but I’m really glad to be here. Allow me this toast.” He raised the bottle.
Shen Xian placed her hand over the bottle, stopping him. “Did you forget what I said earlier? No drinking culture here. Let’s keep that a company rule. We’re all young professionals—no need to play these games.
I’ll pass on the drink. But you’re welcome to help yourself.”
Kang Hai’s expression darkened for a moment, but he quickly recovered. After all, he’d joined the company to ride the coattails of their Mu and Jiang Group backing. He laughed it off and walked away, but Shen Xian quietly watched him go, suddenly feeling that leaving the app project in his hands might not have been the best decision. Small moments reveal character.
Still, most employees enjoyed the dinner thoroughly. With no toasts to worry about, they just ate and relaxed.
As Shen Xian walked Lin Qinghan to the car, the smile never left her face.
Lin Qinghan glanced at her. “What’s with that grin? You seem extra cheerful today.”
Shen Xian leaned close and whispered into her ear, “Tiantian’s staying at Mom’s tonight.” She raised a suggestive brow.
Lin Qinghan pushed her away, shooting her a glare. “So what if she is? Don’t go getting ideas.”
Shen Xian laughed softly. “I wasn’t thinking anything. You’re the one overthinking, Qinghan.”
