- Chapter 5 - The Great Demon of Destruction 2
The system spoke again. [Dear, please try to be a bit more civil.]
[How am I being uncivil?] Lin Qing scoffed. [Is mentioning a toilet uncivil? Every normal person has to use one.]
The system felt fortunate that it was only a machine without human emotions; otherwise, it would have been worked into an early grave by this unrefined host. [Dear, this is the cultivation world. Cultivators practice Inedia. The impurities in their bodies are expelled through the circulation of spiritual energy.]
Lin Qing retorted, [And what about the ordinary people without cultivation? Don’t they still use the bathroom? Let me ask you: in this world, are there more cultivators who don’t need to go, or more ordinary people who do?]
As a high-end, elegant system, it had no desire to answer such a vulgar question. [Host, you should focus on finding your items.]
The system was beginning to regret its choice. Should it have bound such a crude host? Was this host not a CEO in his past life? Should a CEO not have more class and dignity?
If Lin Qing knew what the system was thinking, he would surely mock it: You are a trash system that makes its host sell his body. How are you any different from a brothel madam? How dare you talk about class and dignity?
Regardless, Lin Qing had found a weakness in the system. Although it caused no physical damage, disgusting the system made him feel refreshed. After bickering with the system, he wasted no more time and began searching for mechanisms within the cave.
Perhaps this abode held a secret mystery, like those cultivation novels where finding the entrance leads to a hidden small world.
Lin Qing searched for over an hour, not missing a single crack in the cave walls. Finally, he reached a conclusion. “This godforsaken place really has nothing at all.”
He pulled out the compass that detected demonic energy again, muttering to himself, “Strange. There was clearly a reaction to demonic energy here.”
This was a Heaven-grade treasure, capable of detecting even a sliver of demonic power that cultivators could not perceive. It had been a gift from the Eternal Lord when the original host first joined the sect.
A treasure would not make a mistake. Was his method of searching wrong?
Seeing that it was getting late outside and that animal would soon be coming over, Lin Qing realized he would be exposed if he were found missing. He had to give up for now. He stowed away his light source and flew back to the sect on his sword.
Even the system failed to notice that as Lin Qing left, a wisp of purple gas followed the man’s robes and slipped into the ink-black hair pinned beneath his crown.
When Lin Qing returned to his courtyard, he saw the compass needle shaking violently as if it were having a fit.
He reached out and slapped the top of the compass twice. “Is this thing broken?”
However, the needle continued to tremble, spinning erratically as if it could not find its bearings.
Lin Qing slammed it against the table a few more times. “Really broken?”
He had a sudden realization. “So that was just an ordinary cave. I wasted all that effort because this piece of junk gave me the wrong directions.”
Lin Qing grumbled and tossed the compass behind him.
“Trash. And they call it a Heaven-grade artifact. Completely unreliable.”
He did not see that behind him, the previously shaking needle had stopped, pointing exactly in the direction from which he had just returned.
Lin Qing went to his bedroom and immediately lay down with his clothes on. As a cultivator, he did not need sleep like an ordinary person, but the drug Yun Fan fed him had a sedative effect. If he did not want to reveal that he was not drinking the medicine, he had to pretend to be in a deep sleep.
In the original plot, the host’s body was quietly altered by the medicine during his nightly slumber. Yun Fan would take advantage of his master’s unconscious state to sneak in and watch him like a pervert.
In the beginning, when the drug’s effects were shallow, Yun Fan only dared to watch. But as the doses increased and the host fell into a total coma at night, Yun Fan became unscrupulous. He began to touch the sleeping master everywhere; with the exception of the final act, he touched every place he should and should not have.
[Ding-dong! Yun Fan’s Heat Value +30.] [Ding-dong! Yun Fan’s Heat Value +50.] [Ding-dong! Yun Fan’s Heat Value +]
Hearing these sounds, Lin Qing knew the person had arrived.
In the original plot, the host was controlled by the drug and his body became strange, causing him to moan involuntarily in his sleep, which triggered Yun Fan’s animalistic side. However, Lin Qing was lying perfectly still. Surely this guy would not go into heat for no reason?
“Master, are you asleep?”
Lin Qing thought: Idiot! If I were asleep, could I talk to you?
“Master, you are so beautiful. Do you know that from the moment you saved me, I swore I would have you?”
Lin Qing thought: Ugh, disgusting!
“You never knew how much I loved you. I dream of having you every single night.”
“I am about to get my wish. Master, will you be happy for me?”
Lin Qing thought: Get lost! Get as far away as possible! You moron
“Master, I do not want to hold back tonight. I will cherish you and make up for all the years you ignored me.”
“Master, help me satisfy myself just this once”
Lin Qing thought: Shit, shit, shit! What does this guy want to do?
Damn it, he actually dares!
Lin Qing felt a wandering hand touch his hair. He immediately frowned, pretending he was about to wake up from the disturbance.
You animal!
There was no way he was letting this guy take advantage of him. Even if he was exposed today, he would not let this guy disgust him.
Lin Qing screamed inwardly, but then he felt the hand touching his hair suddenly retract.
“Damn it!” Yun Fan cursed under his breath.
He looked at his palm, which felt as if it had been stung by a hornet. He thought: Strange. What pricked me? Master never wears protective artifacts.
Could it be that Master had noticed something unusual?
At that thought, Yun Fan’s expression changed drastically.
No! Things had already reached this point. If Master found out, he would never have another chance. Fearing there were other artifacts in the room and knowing that staying longer increased the risk of leaving a scent and being exposed, Yun Fan dared not linger. He cast one last reluctant and obsessed look at the alluring master on the bed before walking out.
System: [That is strange.]
Lin Qing sat up once he was sure Yun Fan was gone. [What are you confused about now?]
The system said gloomily: [Dear, we clearly collected so much Heat Value just now, but my energy has not increased at all.]
Lin Qing gave a dismissive, [Oh.]
He hoped the system would run out of energy completely; he certainly was not going to help it find the reason.
System: [Could it be because Yun Fan did not succeed in touching you? Dear, maybe next time you should just let him]
Lin Qing: [Get lost.]
[Ding-dong! Yun Fan’s Heat Value +5.]
“Master, I have brought your medicine.”
Hearing that annoying voice so early in the morning, Lin Qing lowered his legs from the armrest of the chair and straightened his spine, assuming a dignified posture. His voice was slightly cold. “Come in.”
Yun Fan, dressed in his ink colored disciple robes, entered with the medicine. Seeing his master drink it as usual, he asked tentatively, “Master, did you sleep well last night?”
Lin Qing rested his forehead on one hand, looking weary. “It is strange. These past few days, I seem to have become quite lethargic.”
Yun Fan relaxed immediately upon hearing this. Looking at his master, it did not seem like he had noticed anything; perhaps last night was just an accident.
His expression softened, and he said in a low voice, “Master is injured, and this medicine has the effect of calming the heart and spirit. After a few more doses, you will surely feel better.”
