Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha’s Gorgeous Wife Who Keeps Trying to Seduce Me - Chapter 28
Chi Lengzhao felt a bit frustrated. Even after taking a shower, she had to get fully dressed, wearing underwear underneath and a full set of matching pajamas on top.
It was nothing like being at home where she could just relax in a simple nightdress.
What made it even more ridiculous was that Shen Zhixi, the elegant and soft-spoken beauty, had even put on makeup.
“You even did your makeup?” Chi asked.
“We’re filming soon. There’s a scene where we’re supposed to fall asleep in each other’s arms,” Shen explained.
“When’s that happening?” Chi asked again.
“In about fifteen minutes.”
Chi Lengzhao said nothing more and quickly used the time to dry her hair.
The only sound in the room was the constant buzzing of the hairdryer, dull and a bit annoying.
Shen Zhixi pulled back the blanket and lay down on the bed. When Chi finished drying her hair, Shen looked up and motioned toward the empty space next to her. “Come over here,” she said.
Chi Lengzhao paused for a moment, clearly caught off guard. Shen added, “If we don’t rehearse now, how will we know what to do once the camera’s rolling?”
Realizing she had a point, Chi put the hairdryer down, walked over to the bed, and stood there awkwardly. “So, what do I do now?”
“Get on the bed first,” Shen said.
Chi walked around to the other side, lifted the blanket, and got into bed as well.
The bed was large and spacious. Both of them were slim and petite, and lying on opposite sides left enough room between them for a two-hundred-pound man.
Shen Zhixi shook her head. “We’re too far apart. How are you supposed to hold me from there?”
Chi saw the logic and moved closer. “Then what do I do next?”
“Do you want to hold me from the front, or…?” Shen asked, glancing back.
“From behind,” Chi answered immediately. With Shen facing away from her, she could stay calm. But if she had to look at Shen Zhixi’s face, those delicate features so close, she wouldn’t know where to put her hands.
Shen Zhixi turned onto her side, back facing Chi. Her voice was quiet. “Then come hold me now.”
Chi Lengzhao replied softly and looked at Shen’s back in her pale pink pajamas. Her eyes followed the line of her hair, down her shoulders and arms, finally stopping at her waist.
Her slim and curvy figure made her waist look so delicate, as if it might break with the slightest touch.
Chi Lengzhao’s heart was racing uncontrollably. She didn’t even know if it was from nervousness or something else entirely.
She placed one hand over her chest and took a deep breath, worried Shen Zhixi might hear how fast her heart was beating.
But Shen wasn’t any better off.
Even with her back turned, she could feel Chi Lengzhao’s gaze slowly tracing her form.
She stayed completely still, lying on her side, but her heart was beating faster and faster. Her face felt hot, and she was sure she must be blushing.
Still, Chi didn’t move. After a long pause, Shen bit her lip and asked softly, “Aren’t you going to hold me?”
God only knew how red her face had gotten. She felt like she was about to turn into a steamed shrimp.
Thankfully, Chi couldn’t see her face.
“…Alright,” Chi whispered.
She took a deep breath and told herself to just treat it like hugging a life-sized plush toy.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around Shen Zhixi, slipping one hand through the gap near her shoulder and face, while the other gently rested on her waist. In one smooth motion, she pulled Shen’s soft body into her arms.
Shen Zhixi didn’t say anything.
“Is this okay?” Chi asked carefully.
Shen tensed up for a moment, but soon relaxed.
“When we’re filming, just hold me like this,” she said.
“My chin doesn’t have anywhere to rest. Can I place it on your shoulder?” Chi asked.
It was true. Without a place to rest her chin, she would end up too close to the back of Shen’s neck.
Chi knew very well that beneath those fine strands of hair was Shen Zhixi’s scent gland, the most sensitive and private part of an Omega’s body, something only her Alpha should touch.
She had to avoid that no matter what.
“…Go ahead,” Shen replied.
The next moment, Chi rested her chin gently on Shen’s shoulder. That soft body pressed up against her, and warmth quickly spread through her whole being. Shen Zhixi could feel her own body heating up too, and it was only getting warmer.
The worst part was the sensation of Chi’s breath brushing across the side of her face, gliding past her hair.
It was gentle, shallow, but rhythmic, like a feather lightly brushing against her skin.
It tickled. Her face tickled. No, her entire body felt like it was tingling.
Shen Zhixi could feel even her scent gland beginning to respond, slowly waking up.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
“Miss Shen, may we come in?” someone called from outside.
Chi Lengzhao jumped up instantly, letting go of the person in her arms. She rushed to the door to open it. “The crew’s here to film us,” she said.
As she walked over, she turned back and asked, “Was it okay the way I held you just now?” Her eyes were clear and sincere, genuinely looking for feedback.
Shen Zhixi’s voice was slightly hoarse. “It was fine,” she said.
The crew was very pleased with the footage they captured that day.
There was no nudity, no kissing, nothing inappropriate. Just two beautiful women, snuggled up together as they drifted off to sleep.
The atmosphere was dreamy and full of emotion.
Especially the moment when Shen Zhixi closed her eyes, her long lashes casting soft shadows, and her voice tender and sweet as she said, “Goodnight, Zhaozhao.”
It was as if the gentle scent of an Omega’s sweetness and softness was about to spill out through the screen.
The Alpha who was holding her was such a strikingly beautiful and cold-looking woman. Yet in front of her wife, that sharp and dominant Alpha aura softened into gentle affection and quiet tenderness.
It was clear they were newlyweds. What a sweet little couple.
After the filming wrapped up, the crew briefly explained the next day’s schedule and left.
As soon as they were gone, Chi Lengzhao quickly released Shen Zhixi and jumped off the bed. Shen Zhixi also got up immediately, saying, “I’m going to take off my makeup,” before hurrying into the bathroom.
Inside, Shen Zhixi glanced at her reflection in the mirror. Her fair skin was tinged with a light flush, like white jade brushed with rouge, delicate and lovely.
She placed a hand on her cheek, feeling the heat radiating from her skin. It was burning.
Just now, her pheromones had unintentionally started to seep out. Thankfully, she had managed to suppress it in time.
If the filming hadn’t been interrupted, if Chi Lengzhao had kept holding her, if that warm breath had continued brushing against her…
Her face turned bright red. She didn’t even dare to imagine what might have happened next.
In the past, she had done intimate scenes with co-stars. Hugging was nothing new, but she had never lost control the way she did tonight.
She turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on her face. The coolness quickly calmed the heat in her skin, but her heart didn’t feel any lighter.
In the mirror, her elegant brows were slightly furrowed. Her beautiful eyes were filled with confusion and frustration.
“What should I do… this is only the first night,” she murmured.
Back in the room, Chi Lengzhao drank nearly half a bottle of water in one go, finally feeling a bit of relief from the heat burning inside her.
Lately, she didn’t know what was going on. She kept smelling laurel.
At first, it had only happened in dreams. But just now, when she was holding Shen Zhixi, she smelled it again.
She walked over to the side of the bed where Shen had been lying, leaned down, and sniffed carefully. There was a scent, but it was clearly just shampoo. There was no trace of laurel.
Was she really starting to hallucinate?
Could it be her age, that her instincts were starting to stir even before her glands reacted? Or had her glands become so dull they no longer responded properly?
Chi Lengzhao gave a bitter smile and touched the back of her neck where her scent gland was.
Shen Zhixi came out of the bathroom and saw Chi standing by the window, facing outward with her arms crossed, completely lost in thought.
The wind blew through the open window, stirring the sheer white curtain and lifting the strands of hair resting on her shoulders. But she didn’t move, unaware of everything around her.
In that moment, she looked like she didn’t belong to this world.
Shen didn’t know what Chi was thinking, but she could tell it wasn’t something good.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked gently.
“Huh?” Chi Lengzhao snapped out of it. “Nothing really, just getting some air,” she replied. She closed the window and drew the curtains shut.
“Let’s go to sleep. We have an early shoot tomorrow.” Chi gave a soft smile and asked politely, “Which side do you want to sleep on?”
“This side,” Shen Zhixi replied, choosing the same spot she had lain on earlier.
Chi said nothing and went to the other side. She lay flat on her back, deliberately keeping to the outer edge of the bed.
The distance between them widened even more.
It wasn’t like at home, where one of them slept on the bed and the other on the sofa, peacefully apart. This time, they were lying in the same bed.
The room lights were all turned off, leaving only a small night light in the corner.
For the first time, Chi Lengzhao couldn’t fall asleep right away. She turned over, but kept her movements small so she wouldn’t disturb the other person.
When she shifted positions again, Shen Zhixi asked, “Can’t sleep?”
“A little. Did I wake you?”
“No,” Shen replied softly.
Hearing that, Chi stayed still. She didn’t turn again and even kept her breathing quiet.
After a while, just as her muscles began to ache from holding the same posture too long, she heard Shen Zhixi speak again.
“Earlier, that part about how we met… why did you come up with the blind date idea?”
Shen always gave off a calm, distant feeling, like snow. It wasn’t just her pale skin, but her quiet and reserved personality. She naturally felt distant to others.
It was rare for her to want to talk, so Chi Lengzhao was happy to chat. Besides, she couldn’t sleep anyway.
“Our families arranged the marriage. A blind date felt like a logical way to start. I just made a small, reasonable change to the story.”
Shen paused. She couldn’t argue with that. In a way, their first meeting really had been like a blind date.
She changed the subject. “Did you really watch The World Echoes four times?”
“Technically, three and a half. I didn’t finish the last time.”
“Which episodes were your favorite?”
“My favorite? There are too many. As long as the two leads were together, I loved it. I’ll just tell you the ones I didn’t like as much.”
“Alright then. Which ones didn’t you like?”
“In those episodes about the Xuanyou Cavern, it was obvious they were at a disadvantage. The enemy was hiding in the dark while they were exposed, and they were outnumbered. The scouts they sent never returned, which clearly meant the place was full of danger. That should’ve been the signal to change their plan. But An Shi just kept splitting up the team and sending people in one by one to die. It didn’t feel like caution, it felt like a lack of intelligence.
And the final boss? His motive didn’t feel strong enough. He’s supposed to be the main villain, but all of this was just because Rong Yin tore down his temple? That’s it?”
Chi Lengzhao ended up talking more than she planned. Shen Zhixi listened quietly, and the more she listened, the more she realized something.
In this lifetime, the Chi Lengzhao she had met not only watched her shows, but actually paid attention. She was sharp, observant, and well-spoken.
Hearing her explain things so clearly, Shen Zhixi gave a soft laugh. “Didn’t you used to say you didn’t like this drama?”
Chi Lengzhao paused for a moment before saying, “You said it yourself—used to. Just because I didn’t like it before doesn’t mean I still don’t.”
“What else didn’t you like before that you ended up liking later?”
Chi was starting to feel sleepy. Her voice got softer as she mumbled, “I used to really hate eating fish. I’d avoid it whenever I could. But later… I realized fish actually tastes great. The texture is soft and smooth… Now, if I can, I always eat fish.”
Shen Zhixi’s eyes shifted slightly. Ever since she’d known Chi Lengzhao, she knew she was a picky eater—but she definitely ate fish.
Maybe it was from an earlier time, maybe when she was much younger, that Chi used to avoid it.
Chi mumbled something again and turned over, already drifting off to sleep.
Shen Zhixi took the opportunity, knowing Chi’s mind was hazy and unguarded, and asked quietly, “Chi Lengzhao, why are you suddenly treating me so well?”
Chi, eyes closed and half-asleep, gave a little smile. “You make it sound like I was horrible to you before… Maybe I was… but from now on, I’ll be good to you…”
“Why?”
“Because you’re Shen Zhixi… the female lead…”
Shen Zhixi froze for a second. Just as she was about to ask more, Chi didn’t respond. Her breathing had become steady—she had fallen asleep.
Shen Zhixi lay still in the quiet room. Though it was dark, her eyes were wide open and bright. She felt no trace of sleepiness.
The female lead?
The lead of what, exactly?
Her thoughts quickly connected the dots. Rong Yin, one of the two main characters in The World Echoes.
Could it be that Chi Lengzhao started liking her because of Rong Yin?
In the darkness, Shen Zhixi let out a soft sigh. She turned her head and looked at the person sleeping next to her.
Chi Lengzhao was fast asleep, quiet and peaceful. She was staying properly on her side of the bed, her expression relaxed. Her eyebrows and the corners of her eyes were soft, making her look like a gentle kitten who had put away its claws—completely harmless.
Shen Zhixi smiled slightly. This was the first time since her rebirth that she had seen Chi Lengzhao’s sleeping face up close.
And for the first time, she thought—Chi Lengzhao looked soft, and kind of cute.
The next morning, when Chi Lengzhao woke up, Shen Zhixi was already up. Her young assistant was sitting beside her at the vanity, helping with her makeup.
Chi looked around in a daze, sitting on the bed for a while before remembering that she was filming a reality show—and she was one of the guests.
“Morning,” Chi said, getting out of bed.
“Good morning,” Shen Zhixi replied, glancing at her through the mirror.
“Morning, President Chi,” the assistant greeted politely.
The assistant, a girl in her early twenties named Xiaomo, had been assigned to Shen Zhixi by Wang Yi.
Chi noticed she seemed nervous and gave her a friendly smile. “We’re not at the office. You don’t have to call me President Chi. I’m older than you, just call me Sister Chi.”
Xiaomo immediately nodded. “Sister Chi.”
By the time Chi came out of the bathroom after washing up, the assistant was no longer in the room.
“Xiaomo went to get breakfast. Do you want to come over and get your makeup done too?” Shen Zhixi asked.
Normally, Chi didn’t wear makeup to work. She had naturally good skin and didn’t need it. She only put on light makeup when meeting important clients, hosting executives, or attending public events.
But since Shen Zhixi had asked, it meant they would be filming again soon.
She nodded and walked over, sitting in the chair where Xiaomo had been moments earlier.
Just as she was looking at the makeup kit, thinking she’d do a simple touch-up herself, her chin was suddenly lifted.
Chi Lengzhao froze.
Instinctively, she looked up and saw Shen Zhixi leaning close, holding a powder compact in one hand and applying makeup to her with focused care.
Those light brown eyes were so close, close enough that she could see her own reflection in Shen Zhixi’s pupils.
Chi Lengzhao suddenly panicked and quickly looked away. “You don’t need to do much, just a little touch-up is fine.”
After a full night’s rest, her skin looked extra smooth and fair, with a natural rosy glow.
Now, her jade-like face was turning visibly red, and the blush only deepened.
Shen Zhixi smiled faintly. “Alright.”
As she spoke, her warm breath brushed across Chi’s face. As expected, Chi’s face turned even redder.
Chi Lengzhao couldn’t handle being this close. She caught a faint trace of laurel again—the scent of Shen Zhixi’s pheromones.
And what made it worse was that this scent reminded her of the kiss from her dream. In it, she had kissed Shen Zhixi passionately, holding her close, completely lost as she drank in her pheromones.
Chi cleared her throat. “I-I’ll do it myself.”
Shen Zhixi glanced at her. “You don’t think I’m doing a good job?”
“No, not at all.”
With no excuse left, Chi Lengzhao sat still and let Shen Zhixi finish.
Chi already had great skin. She didn’t need concealer or much enhancement, so her makeup was done quickly. Only the lipstick was left.
Shen Zhixi scanned the row of lipsticks and chose one. She looked at Chi and gestured for her to open her mouth slightly.
The blush on Chi’s face hadn’t faded at all. She wanted to say “I can do this part myself,” but in the end, she didn’t say it. The words circled her throat but never made it out.
She quietly parted her lips and, to avoid awkward eye contact, simply closed her eyes.
In that moment, the woman sitting before Shen Zhixi had skin as smooth as cream, softly flushed cheeks, closed eyes, and slightly parted lips. She looked completely gentle, like she was ready to be cared for.
Shen Zhixi’s breath caught in her throat.
Her eyes naturally fell on Chi’s lips—full, soft, and already a healthy red even without lipstick. Just one look was enough to steal attention.
Suddenly, she remembered that night. Chi Lengzhao had been drunk and had kissed her secretly. The taste of her lips was sweet, like rice wine—soft and intoxicating. Their breaths had mingled, lips and tongues tangled in an unforgettable kiss.
Shen Zhixi’s heart started racing. Her face flushed hot. She couldn’t look away from those lips, and out of nowhere, she felt an urge to taste them again.
“You can do it yourself.” Shen Zhixi quickly grabbed Chi’s hand, stuffed the lipstick into it, and got up in a hurry.
“Huh?”
Chi opened her eyes and looked down at the lipstick in her hand, blinking in confusion. Why did the makeup artist suddenly run away?
After breakfast, the guests began filming. The host stood in front of the inn, waiting for everyone to gather.
Most of the guests looked refreshed and ready—except for Lu Manni.
She looked like she hadn’t slept well. Even with makeup, she couldn’t hide her tiredness.
With the sudden appearance of Miss Shi, the third daughter of the Shi family, Lu Manni wasn’t about to miss the chance to marry into a powerful family. Last night, she and Shi Xin had all kinds of intimate interactions in bed. He marked her again and again until late into the night. Then she had to get up early for filming, and now she was struggling to stay awake.
As soon as she noticed the camera, she immediately clung to Shi Xin’s arm, acting sweet and affectionate like a soft little Omega.
Of course, the show’s crew didn’t miss this sugary couple moment, and the cameras zoomed in on them.
Everyone here was from the entertainment industry. They all knew what Lu Manni was doing—grabbing extra screen time. Sweet couple moments? Everyone could do that.
So, the other couples started hugging and cuddling in front of the guesthouse, adding their own “affection scenes.”
Chi Lengzhao and Shen Zhixi stepped out one after the other, unprepared for the sudden “sweet couple” wave.
Was this romance mode already starting?
They looked at each other, unsure what to do. But Shen Zhixi had more on-camera experience. When she saw the camera turning toward them, she calmly stepped forward, slipped her arm through Chi’s, and gently rested her head on her shoulder.
Chi Lengzhao: “…”
She turned her head and met Shen Zhixi’s sparkling eyes and bright, radiant smile.
Shen Zhixi didn’t smile often. But when she did, she was breathtaking.
Chi Lengzhao froze. That shining, gem-like smile made her heart skip a beat.
For a moment, it felt like they really were a married couple, deeply in love. Like Shen Zhixi truly was her wife.
The realization hit Chi hard. A sweet warmth bloomed in her chest, and before she could stop herself, the corners of her lips lifted into a soft smile. Her eyes filled with warmth as she looked directly into Shen Zhixi’s.
Click. The camera captured the exact moment their eyes met with happiness and affection.
“All done.” Shen Zhixi gently squeezed her arm. When Chi didn’t respond, she blushed and whispered again, “We’re done.”
Chi Lengzhao snapped out of it. “Huh?”
“They’re not filming anymore. You can let go now.”
Only then did Chi realize her other hand had been resting over Shen Zhixi’s without noticing.
“Sorry.” She quickly pulled her hand back and turned away, embarrassed. She slowed her steps and deliberately kept half a step behind.
Seeing her create distance on purpose, Shen Zhixi bit her lip and looked down. “It’s okay,” she said quietly.
Then the host announced the guests’ new roles—“Town Hosts,” or more accurately, tour guides.
There was a large area of historical buildings on the island, dating back hundreds of years. Today’s task was to first tour the site with real guides, then change into the official uniforms and take on the role of guides themselves. They would greet tourists, give explanations, and answer questions.
“Everyone will be in pairs—six pairs in total, split into two teams. Listen closely to the real guides, because officials from the tourism board will be mixed in with the tourists and will evaluate your performance. The team with the highest score will receive a surprise gift from our sponsor. Now, please choose your teammates freely.”
As expected, the three married couples formed one team, and the three dating couples formed another.
Chi Lengzhao had hoped to keep a low profile and just follow along. But then Zhou Ziqing spoke up, “Let’s have President Chi be our team leader.”
And just like that, Chi became the leader of the “wives team.”
The dating couples quickly picked their leader too. With Lu Manni’s suggestion, Shi Xin became the “couples team” leader.
Everyone boarded the tour bus. Led by the host, they headed to the historical site and officially began their journey as trainee guides.
Chi Lengzhao: What should I do? My heart just skipped a beat! Oh no… is this what falling for someone feels like?
Shen Zhixi: What should I do? Chi Lengzhao’s lips are way too tempting!
