Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha’s Gorgeous Wife Who Keeps Trying to Seduce Me - Chapter 25
The next day, Chi Lengzhao went to C City to inspect the livestock base operated by Chisheng Animal Husbandry. Right before boarding the plane, she suddenly turned to the director of the breeding department and asked, “What’s the current pregnancy and birth success rate? Have there been any difficult labor cases lately? If there are complications, how soon can the technical experts arrive?”
The director was stunned. Why was Miss Chi suddenly so concerned about whether sows were having difficult births?
When he told her that the birth success rate had reached 85 percent, Chi Lengzhao looked satisfied. Then he added that the base had a university veterinary team on standby. Difficult births were common, but whenever they happened, an expert could arrive within thirty minutes to assist with delivery. Chi Lengzhao felt a wave of relief.
After the site tour, she gave clear instructions to improve automation and smart management. On top of that, she made a decision on the spot. She ordered the construction of a temporary recovery area, complete with customized feed and herbal supplements. Any sow that experienced a difficult birth would be taken there to rest and recover for three days.
The breeding director was once again stunned. Miss Chi really had a kind heart, even toward sows.
Later, Chi Lengzhao posted a photo on her social feed. She was fully covered in protective gear, holding a piglet. In the background, a mother pig lay calmly on the ground, nursing more than ten piglets at once.
Back at the villa, Shen Zhixi sat with Zai Zai in her arms. She gently brushed his fur and patted his round head.
Zai Zai had grown familiar with Shen Zhixi, Hua Zi, and the new home. He was used to his new environment and owner, and now he lay stretched out comfortably across her lap, completely relaxed.
Shen Zhixi looked at the photo in Chi Lengzhao’s post. It was a little funny but also cute. Covered from head to toe, with only her eyes showing behind a mask, Chi Lengzhao looked serious and determined. Shen Zhixi smiled faintly and tapped the screen to give it a like.
That night, after finishing dinner with the base’s senior staff, Chi Lengzhao returned to her hotel. Sitting on the bed, she started checking her phone.
The post she had made during the farm visit now had dozens of likes. Even Chi Jintang had given it a thumbs-up.
Most of the likes came from department heads and company managers, but among all those names, she saw Shen Zhixi’s.
Her thoughts drifted home. What was Shen Zhixi doing now? Holding Zai Zai, maybe chatting with friends?
At the same time, Shen Zhixi was on a video call with her mother.
“Mom, Zhaozhao knows. She’s fine with it and even agreed to join me on the show.”
“She’s a group vice president now. She’s busy. I saw on her feed that she was at a pig farm today. Does she really have time to be on a variety show with you?”
Shen Zhixi paused for a second. Her first thought was, does Mom have Chi Lengzhao on WeChat?
“She can bring her laptop. She’ll work during breaks between filming.”
“When are you starting?”
“In a few days. We’ll join the crew and begin shooting officially.”
Her mother still looked worried. “Bring Hua Zi with you. You need someone to look after things.”
“Mom, I’ll have an assistant.”
“Still, pack more clothes.”
“Mom, the sponsors are providing wardrobe.”
“Even so, bring your own. You’ll be more comfortable in what you’re used to.”
“Okay, Mom.”
“Don’t forget your skincare and makeup. Prepare yours and Zhaozhao’s together.”
“Okay, Mom.”
After ending the video call, Shen Zhixi quickly went back to find Chi Lengzhao’s piglet photo post.
Sure enough, her mom had liked it. Even her dad, Shen Jichang, had given it a like.
So her dad had Chi Lengzhao on WeChat too.
Her mom had even left a comment. “Xiao Zhao looks so blessed. Her future children will definitely be fair and chubby.”
Shen Zhixi covered her face in embarrassment. What was her mom even saying?
That night before bed, Chi Lengzhao received a message. It was from Hanzi.
“Big sis, I’m going to Y Country for school. I’m throwing a party at my place the night after tomorrow. You and sis-in-law must come.”
Chi Lengzhao was surprised. “You’re really going abroad to study?”
“I’m already twenty-four. I’m not that young anymore. I want to see more of the world and keep learning while I still can.”
Her chest tightened a little. She hadn’t expected Hanzi to take those words she said the other day so seriously.
When she was younger, Hanzi was bright, driven, and full of potential. She had no bad habits and was truly an outstanding young woman.
But after her mother passed away, and her father remarried and started ignoring her, things changed. Their father-daughter relationship had become transactional. It was all about asking for money and giving money. The more frustrated she became, the more rebellious she got. And the more she pushed away, the worse things became.
Chi Lengzhao took a deep breath. Probably no one understood Hanzi’s kind of loneliness better than she did.
Losing the person you depended on most felt like the world had gone dark.
No one cared about you. No one hugged you. And soon, you stopped wanting to try.
Because you didn’t even know what you were trying for.
She replied, “Study hard when you get there. If you need anything, come to me.”
Hanzi replied, “It’s just school, not a war zone. Don’t worry, Big Sis.”
Chi Lengzhao smiled. “When you come back, let’s team up with Pantao. The three of us can start a company together and make something big.”
“Deal. You said it. You’ll be the boss and we’ll all listen to you.”
Chi Lengzhao chuckled, her heart a little warm. “You’ll all listen to me? You really trust me that much?”
“Of course we do. We’re best friends. We always trust you, Big Sis.”
A white Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the talent agency building.
A young and beautiful woman stepped out of the car. Her long, smooth hair flowed in soft waves down to her waist.
She wore high-waisted jeans that made her legs look long and slender. Over them was a loose beige knit cardigan that gave her a lean, elegant appearance. She looked cool and graceful.
As soon as she got out of the car, she put on a pair of sunglasses and walked into the building.
Someone nearby whispered, “Who is that? Her figure’s amazing, and she has such a strong presence. Is she a new artist?”
“Didn’t you see the Rolls-Royce? No way she’s new. She’s been around before.”
“Been around? Who is she?”
“Shen Zhixi.”
“What? That’s her? She’s my goddess!”
“I heard she’s a guest on season two of Sweet Go!”
“Isn’t she married though?”
“Well, yeah. You have to be married or in a relationship to be on Sweet Go!”
“But didn’t she pretty much leave the industry after marrying into a rich family? Why is she doing variety shows now?”
“Who knows? Rich families have their own stories. No one really knows what goes on inside.”
Inside the signing room, Shen Zhixi removed her sunglasses and calmly signed her name on the contract.
Wang Yi smiled. “All done. Just focus on getting ready for the show. I hope the season’s a hit and ratings go through the roof.”
“Thanks, Sister Wang,” Shen Zhixi said politely.
Wang Yi added, “This season features five couples, either wives or lovers. One couple hasn’t officially signed yet, but I have the highest hopes for you and President Chi.”
Shen Zhixi raised an eyebrow. “Why us?”
“Because you two have the best visuals. No doubt about it. You, obviously, are stunning, and your wife? She looks like she was handcrafted by God.”
Shen Zhixi gave a small laugh. It was clear Wang Yi was absolutely a face-value fan.
That evening, Chi Lengzhao returned to Haibin from C City. Shen Zhixi told her about signing the contract.
Chi Lengzhao gave a short “mm” and then suddenly asked, “Did you sign any extra agreements?”
“No. Why?” Shen Zhixi looked at her, a little confused.
“It’s nothing,” Chi Lengzhao said quickly. She wasn’t about to admit she had dreamed Shen Zhixi had signed a ridiculous extra contract that allowed the show to keep filming her bare back.
“I just think it’s important to read everything carefully before signing.”
“It was a standard industry contract. I went through it.”
Chi Lengzhao nodded, then started setting up the sofa bed. “Hanzi is going to study in Y Country. She’s having a farewell party tomorrow night and invited both of us. Do you have time?”
Shen Zhixi frowned slightly. She wasn’t unfamiliar with Chi Lengzhao’s three closest friends. In her past life, they often came to the house to party and make noise, leaving a mess. They would sometimes stay up all night.
Of the three, the one she disliked the most was Shi Xin. He pretended to be just one of the guys around Chi Lengzhao, but behind her back, he often gave Shen Zhixi uncomfortable looks and had even made inappropriate remarks.
Even when Shen Zhixi tried to warn Chi Lengzhao, she was brushed off or scolded. “You’re overthinking,” she would say, or worse, she’d slap her and accuse her of being disgusting and trying to start trouble.
To Shen Zhixi, Shi Xin was more than unpleasant. He was dangerous.
Chi Lengzhao noticed her silence and didn’t press. “If you don’t want to go, that’s fine. I’ll go by myself.”
“No, I’ll go. Hanzi’s going abroad. I should be there to send her off.” Shen Zhixi thought, with so many people there, even if Shi Xin showed up, he wouldn’t dare do anything.
Chi Lengzhao looked at her with gratitude and smiled gently. “Don’t worry. I’ll protect you.”
Shen Zhixi froze for a moment and turned to look at her. In the soft lighting, Chi Lengzhao’s cool features were softened by a warm and sincere smile.
Her heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks turned slightly red.
She kept hearing that one line in her head:
“I’ll protect you.”
In her last life, she had waited forever for those words. Instead, all she received was scorn, violence, and pain.
But now, the person who had once hurt her the most was saying she would protect her.
And she believed her. This Chi Lengzhao wasn’t lying.
“You really raise pigs at Chisheng’s base in C City? How many pigs do you have? And is that why you were dressed like that in the picture?”
Chi Lengzhao hadn’t expected her to ask. She propped her chin in her hand and started explaining, “We’re mainly raising male pigs right now. Around two million of them…”
They ended up talking for nearly an hour. From disinfection protocols at the base, to personally feeding the pigs, to how cute the piglets were, to the new care center she was setting up for sows with difficult labor—Shen Zhixi discovered that Chi Lengzhao was surprisingly chatty. When she talked about her work, her eyes lit up.
Chi Lengzhao finally glanced at the time. It was already past midnight.
“I’m keeping you up. It’s late, time to sleep.”
Shen Zhixi curled up in her blanket, getting ready to sleep. But before she closed her eyes, she suddenly asked, “By the way, how do my parents have your WeChat?”
“They added me when I visited your house last time,” Chi Lengzhao said, smiling. “Not only that, your mom even showed me her new Douyin video. We’re official ‘like’ buddies now.”
Shen Zhixi was speechless.
Even I haven’t seen that video yet…
The next day, Hanzi’s farewell party was held in a luxury apartment in a busy part of the city. Their driver, Xiao Song, knew the area well and drove them there with ease.
Today, Shen Zhixi looked especially glamorous. She wore a chic white dress, paired with short boots that had little tassels, and a long trench coat. Her long hair flowed in soft waves. She looked every bit the celebrity.
Chi Lengzhao’s style was more relaxed. She wore shoulder-length hair, casual pants, and a laid-back blazer. Her tall figure and confident smile made her stand out effortlessly.
When Hanzi saw them, she ran over and threw her arms around Chi Lengzhao. “Big sis!”
Then she turned to Shen Zhixi and greeted her with a cheerful, “Hi, sister-in-law!”
Chi Lengzhao patted her back and said, “There are a lot of people here tonight. Just call me Zhaozhao.”
Hanzi’s bright red hair was gone. Her usual wild twin ponytails had been replaced with a cool ash-brown look. She looked less rebellious, and a bit more mature.
“Your new hair color looks great,” Shen Zhixi said. “It really suits you.”
Hanzi flipped her hair proudly. “Right? I think so too. Zhaozhao, black hair is so boring. You should dye yours too.”
Chi Lengzhao shook her head with a smile. “I’m used to black hair. It’s how I was born.”
There were a lot of people in the house. The duplex had a high ceiling, and the living room was especially bright and spacious.
Many guests were holding wine glasses, laughing openly, whispering in corners, or exchanging flirtatious glances. Some were clearly trying to hook up with each other.
A good number of people seemed to recognize Chi Lengzhao. Whenever they saw her, they gave a nod or waved in greeting.
“Hey, Miss Chi is here.”
“Long time no see, Chi Lengzhao. You haven’t been going out much lately?”
“What are you talking about? Can’t you see she brought her wife with her tonight?”
Chi Lengzhao simply smiled and didn’t respond. She didn’t engage in conversation either.
These people probably knew the original Chi Lengzhao well, maybe clubbing buddies or social regulars. But she wasn’t the same person. In truth, she didn’t recognize a single one of them.
“Zhixi, let’s go out to the terrace. It’s quieter there,” Chi Lengzhao said, gently holding Shen Zhixi’s hand. Under the envious gazes of those around them, she led her outside.
“Is that an Omega next to Chi Lengzhao? She’s stunning.”
“That’s her wife, Shen Zhixi.”
“Shen Zhixi?”
“You don’t know her? She’s the top Omega in Haibin!”
“No wonder. She really is beautiful.”
A few Alphas let out some crude chuckles, tossing around comments like “must be amazing to mark her” and “I’d love a taste.”
“Shh, shut up. Chi Lengzhao is watching. The Chi family isn’t someone you want to mess with.”
On the terrace, there was a glass conservatory set up for guests. Inside were small European-style tables and chairs, decorated with roses in different colors. On a side table stood bottles of champagne, wine, and a bartender performing tricks while mixing cocktails.
A cool breeze drifted in through the open windows, brushing gently across their skin.
“Are you cold? I can close the window,” Chi Lengzhao asked.
Shen Zhixi shook her head. “I’m fine. It feels nice with a bit of breeze.”
Chi Lengzhao nodded and sat down beside her. “Sorry. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have brought you here. You shouldn’t have to hear all those rude comments.”
Shen Zhixi didn’t seem to mind. “It’s nothing. People will always talk. Let them.”
When she first entered the entertainment industry, people didn’t know she was the heiress of Meixi. They saw a pretty, soft-spoken newcomer who landed the leading role in Rongyin as soon as she debuted. Everyone assumed she had used connections to get the part.
Back then, she’d heard far worse things than tonight.
Wang Yi had once told her, “The more famous you get, the worse the rumors will be.”
Shen Zhixi understood. That was probably the price of fame.
Chi Lengzhao hadn’t expected someone as gentle and delicate as Shen Zhixi to have such a strong mindset. Then again, she was the heroine of the original story. She had survived Chi Lengzhao’s cruel treatment and eventually turned Meixi around on her own.
“Zhaozhao! There you are. And wow, your wife is here too. Hi, sister-in-law!”
The sudden voice startled Chi Lengzhao. She turned to see Xue Pantao’s large face nearly pressed against the glass, waving frantically to get her attention.
“Pantao’s calling me. I’ll be right back,” she said to Shen Zhixi.
Shen Zhixi noticed her hesitation and smiled reassuringly. “Go ahead.”
Xue Pantao pulled Chi Lengzhao into a quieter corner. From there, Chi Lengzhao could still see Shen Zhixi sitting calmly in the glass room, sipping champagne. Though others sat nearby chatting and laughing, she didn’t say much. Yet in the crowd, Chi Lengzhao spotted her instantly.
Xue Pantao got straight to the point. “Zhaozhao, I’ve scraped together about two hundred million. I’m still short thirty million. My grandpa won’t give me my red envelope money in advance. He says I’ll just waste it. But don’t worry. I’ve still got a few days. I’ll ask around…”
Before she could finish, Hanzi came over and overheard them.
“You need money? Why didn’t you ask me?” Hanzi sounded annoyed. She was upset that Chi Lengzhao went to Xue Pantao instead of her. It made her feel distant.
There was a reason Chi Lengzhao didn’t ask Hanzi. She had checked with the housekeeper. Hanzi was even more estranged from her family and had a habit of spending recklessly. In the past, she often relied on Chi Lengzhao for financial help. Pantao, on the other hand, had the backing of her grandparents.
“That’s right,” Xue Pantao added. “We’re only short thirty million now.”
“No problem,” Hanzi said. “Before going abroad, my stingy dad actually gave me a hundred million.”
Xue Pantao cheered. “Perfect! We have enough! Hanzi, you’re amazing!”
Chi Lengzhao was touched. “Thank you.”
“Come on, we’re like family. No need for thanks,” Hanzi said happily. She picked up three glasses of wine from a passing tray.
“Let’s toast, the three of us.”
“To us!”
The three of them clinked glasses and downed their drinks. Arms over each other’s shoulders, they laughed loudly, radiating joy and confidence.
From the living room, someone stepped out and looked at them from afar.
The light from the house spilled behind her, casting her face in shadow. Her expression was unclear, but her eyes glinted coldly from the darkness.
Were they really that close now?
Shi Xin could barely contain the bitterness in her heart. That smile, especially on Chi Lengzhao’s face, burned her eyes.
She thought back to the hospital, when Chi Lengzhao had hit her for the sake of an Omega and never once came to check on her.
Now, those two were calling her “big brother” and listening to everything she said.
Shi Xin’s gaze turned even colder.
So, they didn’t even see her as a brother anymore?
“Come on, Zhaozhao, let’s drink. I won’t have chances like this once I go to Y Country,” Hanzi said.
Xue Pantao’s cheeks were flushed. “Don’t be so dramatic. You’re just going to study. You’re coming back.”
Chi Lengzhao smiled and patted her shoulder. “Pantao and I will visit you. Focus on school. We’ll be here waiting for you to come back and start our business together.”
“Yay! Cheers!”
The three of them clinked glasses again, laughing and making a ruckus as they drank more wine.
Chi Lengzhao casually glanced toward the glass room. Just then, she saw someone leaning toward Shen Zhixi, who looked up with a cold expression.
From her angle, she could only see Shen Zhixi’s flawless side profile, but the visible frown on her face clearly showed her disgust.
“Well, well, isn’t this our lovely sister-in-law? The number one Omega in Haibin. Why is a beauty like you sitting all alone? Didn’t Chi Lengzhao come with you?”
Shi Xin wore a smirk and reached out to touch Shen Zhixi’s hand that was holding her glass. “I can’t stand seeing someone as beautiful as you being ignored.”
Shen Zhixi’s expression changed. She pulled her hand away. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Shi Xin leaned in closer and lowered her voice. “Don’t pretend to be so high and mighty. Everyone knows what Meixi’s situation is now. You were basically sold by the Shen family to the Chi family for money. I can pay too. If you let me mark you, I guarantee the price will be worth it.”
Shen Zhixi couldn’t take it anymore and raised her hand to slap her.
Shi Xin caught her wrist and grinned wickedly. “Your skin feels so smooth. I wonder what it smells like.”
She leaned in and sniffed her wrist with a look of indulgence and obsession.
“Let go of me!” Shen Zhixi’s face flushed with anger. She struggled to break free, but Shi Xin was an S-rank Alpha, and her strength was overwhelming.
People nearby saw what was happening, but no one stepped in. In parties like this, vague flirting or playful resistance was all too common. Many Alphas and Omegas came to these events just to find someone they clicked with for a night.
“Get your filthy hands off her.”
No one noticed when Chi Lengzhao arrived, but she stepped in with a cold voice and gripped Shi Xin’s wrist tightly, pulling her hand away with ease.
“Zhaozhao, what’s the big deal?” Shi Xin asked, pretending not to care as she rubbed her sore wrist.
“I should ask you that. What exactly were you doing?”
“Come on, don’t be so dramatic. I was just messing around with your wife. Don’t tell me you’re that petty. You hit me last time, and I let it go.”
Chi Lengzhao gave her a cold laugh. “Seems like I didn’t hit you hard enough. You still don’t know how to respect my wife.”
She didn’t even bother to look at Shi Xin again. Instead, her eyes landed on Shen Zhixi’s delicate wrist, now marked with a red imprint.
“Are you okay? Does it hurt?” she asked gently.
“I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt,” Shen Zhixi replied, shaking her head.
“Let’s go. We’ve said our goodbyes to Hanzi and Pantao and had our drinks.” Chi Lengzhao softly took her hand and spoke with a noticeably tender tone.
“Okay.” Shen Zhixi nodded and stood up, letting Chi Lengzhao lead her by the hand.
At that moment, Shen Zhixi felt an unfamiliar but comforting sense of safety.
Seeing that Shi Xin still hadn’t moved out of the way, Chi Lengzhao kept her tone polite. “Miss Shi, please step aside.”
Shi Xin’s face twisted with anger. Chi Lengzhao was clearly treating her like she didn’t matter.
“Chi Lengzhao, who are you trying to fool? Acting all gentle and affectionate now? Everyone knows the real you.”
Her raised voice drew attention, and many guests turned to look.
Chi Lengzhao met her glare and replied calmly, “Why would I need to pretend? She’s my wife. Of course I care about her.”
“Spare me the act. Everyone knows you used to be the queen of the night scene.” Shi Xin scoffed and glanced toward the living room.
Just then, a woman appeared wearing a long black strapless dress. Her fair skin and slender arms glowed under the lights, and her thick, wavy hair flowed over her shoulders. Heads turned as people noticed her.
Someone whispered excitedly, “That’s Si Yu! I can’t believe she came.”
Shi Xin smirked and raised her brows proudly. “Chi Lengzhao, surely you remember her. You two were very close, weren’t you?”
She had invited Si Yu on purpose.
Someone nearby asked quietly, “Who’s Si Yu?”
“She’s a singer at Style Bar, one of the most popular Omegas. Tons of people try to chase her.”
“I’ve never seen her there.”
“She doesn’t show up every night. Seeing her is pure luck.”
“She’s really picky too. Her Alpha has to be good-looking, charming, able to play instruments, sing with her, and make her laugh.”
“Wow, that’s a high bar.”
“Not really. Chi Lengzhao fits that perfectly.”
“You’re serious? Si Yu is her Omega?”
“People saw them kissing in a private booth at the bar. Some even said they were marking each other.”
“That’s insane.”
“Chi Lengzhao really hit the jackpot. Her wife is a goddess, and her lover is top-tier too.”
Chi Lengzhao heard the gossip around her and frowned slightly.
If she could hear it, Shen Zhixi definitely could too.
As expected, the hand in her palm suddenly felt colder.
Shi Xin, clearly enjoying herself, waved at Si Yu with a smug look, intent on making a scene.
She wanted to see how Chi Lengzhao would explain herself while caught between two stunning women.
Of all the Omegas she and Chi Lengzhao had been involved with, these two were the only ones Shi Xin had never been able to get.
“Si Yu, you look more beautiful every time I see you. Look who’s here, an old friend,” Shi Xin said with a grin.
As she finished speaking, Chi Lengzhao felt Si Yu’s eyes land on her, then drift down to the hands she and Shen Zhixi were still holding.
Another piercing gaze came from behind. It followed their intertwined fingers up along her arm, then landed sharply on her back.
Chi Lengzhao shivered.
This felt like a full-blown social death scene.
A public execution. A fire pit.
