Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 79.2
Annoyed, she didn’t even bother to check the camera lenses.
Quickly, she installed the sensor on the door and returned to bed. Finally—she could sleep.
The night passed peacefully. No alerts from the detector.
Qi Siyu was woken by her alarm, a trace of glee in her heart.
Gu Qing had actually picked up on her hint!
Still, a little joy couldn’t erase the fatigue from staying up late. Her head was foggy. Only after washing up and eating a bit at the hotel buffet did she finally feel fully awake.
Suddenly, her phone rang—it was Gu Qing’s number. Qi Siyu picked up immediately.
“Hello? Gu Qing? What’s up?”
“It’s me, Gu Xiaoling. Where are you? I knocked and no one answered. I made breakfast.” Gu Xiaoling’s tone wasn’t exactly friendly.
“Ah…”
Qi Siyu glanced at the half-eaten shaomai on her plate and hesitated. If she admitted she’d already eaten, she would miss out on the chance to share a meal with Gu Qing.
“I’m out. I’ll head back now.”
“Just come to the restaurant. Gu-jie and I are already on our way.”
Gu Xiaoling was pushing Gu Qing’s wheelchair toward the dining area.
Qi Siyu spotted them just in time and grabbed her plate, making a run for it.
“On my way!”
She’d been so focused on grabbing a bite to wake herself up, she completely forgot that Gu Xiaoling had said she will cook for Gu Qing—and make a portion for her too.
“Hey, Director Qi, why are you hiding behind a column? I almost didn’t see you.”
Liang Siqi happened to walk over and greeted her warmly.
“Shh! Keep it down.”
Qi Siyu quickly stuffed the remaining shaomai into her mouth, trying to destroy the evidence before Gu Qing and Gu Xiaoling arrived.
Gu Xiaoling jogged over and immediately noticed the empty but clearly used plate and Qi Siyu’s puffed-out cheeks.
“Gu-jie! She ate without us!”
“What? Ate without who?”
Su Ningmo had also just arrived.
With so many eyes on her, Qi Siyu awkwardly swallowed the shaomai.
“I was just hungry…”
Liang Siqi quietly observed Gu Qing and Qi Siyu. Unfortunately, Gu Qing’s expression was unreadable as always—impossible to tell if anything was going on between them.
“Go eat.”
Gu Qing spoke flatly.
Gu Xiaoling had to swallow her complaints but still shot Qi Siyu a glare.
Qi Siyu sheepishly followed them. She had forgotten.
Still, the food she had earlier wasn’t enough. In the end, she finished the breakfast Gu Xiaoling made too.
She spent the whole morning stifling burps.
Come lunchtime, Qi Siyu trailed happily behind Gu Qing to ask Gu Xiaoling for food—only to be coldly informed there was none for her today.
The woman held a grudge, clearly.
Qi Siyu had no choice but to eat boxed lunch.
“Hey, not bad—meat and veggies!”
Then she turned and saw Gu Qing’s lunch box—stacked with braised chicken legs and soy-braised beef slices.

A moment later, Gu Qing placed one chicken leg and a few beef slices onto Qi Siyu’s lunch box.

She beamed and swayed happily.
“Thank you~”
Gu Xiaoling rolled her eyes.
“Gu-jie, she didn’t even want to eat with us earlier. Why are you giving her food?”
Day one in the crew and Qi Siyu had already changed—didn’t even call Gu Qing “Gu-jie” at meals. What a jerk!
“She likes your cooking. Giving her a taste will make her crave more,” Gu Qing replied seriously, making Gu Xiaoling laugh.
“Hmph, she doesn’t deserve it.”
Qi Siyu kept quiet and chewed her chicken leg with guilt.
That afternoon, Qi Siyu took advantage of her position to ask Gu Qing how to get back in Gu Xiaoling’s good graces—her cooking was really nutritious and far better than those boxed meals.
Gu Qing thought for a moment.
“Xiaoling likes compliments.”
“Next option.”
Qi Siyu could sweet-talk people, but she just couldn’t bring herself to say anything like that to Gu Xiaoling—not with her face. It just felt… inappropriate.
“Then there’s nothing else.”
Gu Qing shrugged.
Qi Siyu stared pitifully.
“Gu Qing, you have to help me. Can you really bear to watch me eat boxed lunches forever?”
“…No,” Gu Qing replied flatly.
“Buy her a backpack. The one she’s using now is quite worn.”
“Perfect~ Love you!”
Qi Siyu sent her off to resume filming.
Neither of them thought about the obvious: if she didn’t want to eat Xiaoling’s food, she could always hire a chef or order gourmet delivery.
Qi Siyu’s assistant got another assignment—buy a new backpack for Gu Qing’s assistant.
Tsk. The assistant gasped inwardly. Don’t tell me her boss has fallen for that assistant now?
She quietly asked Qi Siyu if she should buy two—one for Gu Qing as well.
“Buy them. Get good quality, don’t worry about the price. Pick one for yourself too. I’ll pay privately.”
Qi Siyu reflected on all the gifts she’d given Gu Qing—perfume, incense, a pearl necklace, flowers… either won in a draw or just small trinkets. None could compare to the pendant Gu Qing had made for her by hand—or the regional specialties she brought back from abroad.
Oof. The more she thought about it, the more stingy she felt.
Qi Siyu fell into deep self-reflection.
Speaking of which—Gu Qing’s birthday was just 41 days away. That wasn’t far off at all!
She’d have to seriously consider what gift to get her.
As for Gu Xiaoling, she genuinely liked the backpack—both the style and the size. Big-hearted, she forgave Qi Siyu.
Gu Qing, on the other hand, left the delicate clutch in the hotel. She’d put it in her display cabinet at home later.
Time passed in a blur of gift planning and filming. In just half a month, they’d even completed a day’s work ahead of schedule.
Su Ningqing, with a flourish, granted the crew a day off. Mostly because her wife had been supervising shoots nonstop—leaving them no time to get cozy.
For the sake of her marital happiness, this day off was non-negotiable!
Qi Siyu’s team rarely got time off. Every day of set construction cost money, and budget was always tight. Sometimes they’d work overnight just to save on scene and prop costs.
But when the executive producer who held the purse strings gave the green light, Qi Siyu was happy to oblige.
After checking with Gu Qing and Gu Xiaoling, Qi Siyu laid out the plan: sleep in the morning, Korean BBQ for lunch, movie in the afternoon, boat cruise in the evening with dinner onboard—a perfect day out.
Su Ningmo wanted to tag along too but got dragged away by Su Ningqing. Looked like she wasn’t going to sleep tonight.
Qi Siyu was in high spirits. Instead of eating on set, they headed home and ordered takeout.
The moment she stepped into Lichun Garden, the housekeeper informed her:
“Director Qi, you’ve got a delivery.”
Postal service. Brown envelope. From the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Her divorce certificate had arrived.
The greenish cover looked terribly inauspicious. Qi Siyu wrinkled her nose in disgust.
