- Chapter 70.2 - She Kissed Her
“Eggs are here~” Gu Junsi rushed in, carrying seven plates. One per person—but only his wife and daughter got heart-shaped ones. A symbol of pure fatherly love.
“Thank you. It’s very pretty.” Gu Qing took a bite. “And very tasty.”
Gu Junsi felt like he might float away from happiness.
After more than 20 years without seeing his daughter, he was easy to please.
Lunch lasted nearly two hours. For the first time ever, Gu Qing ate until she felt stuffed, like food was stuck in her throat.
Turns out, having doting parents made maintaining one’s figure a serious challenge.
Song Xinglin and Gu Junsi were also full. Watching Gu Qing eat their food gave them such a good appetite, they had overeaten too.
Worried that too much enthusiasm might make her uncomfortable, Song Xinglin asked Gu Yulong to take Gu Qing and the others for a walk around the island to digest.
She and Gu Junsi returned to hold a debrief meeting, determined to summarize Gu Qing’s eating preferences and hobbies—so they could become perfect parents.
The villa where everyone was staying wasn’t far from the hospital. Both were on the island’s west side.
Gu Yulong had been here once before.
“The east side has a botanical garden. You can see all sorts of plants there—Fourth Aunt loves them. Let’s take a walk there.”
“What are you pretending for?” Gu Lulu rolled her eyes.
“Fourth Uncle and Aunt are hers. Sucks to be you.”
“Lulu-jie, what are you talking about? Of course I’m happy for them.” Gu Yulong put on a shocked, saddened face.
“Fourth Aunt asked me to walk with A-Qing, so of course I’ll stick with her.”
“Oh, by the way,” she turned to Gu Qing, “How do you write your name—what ‘Qing’ is it? Fourth Aunt gave you that name, didn’t she? It used to have the character ‘晴’—meaning clear skies.
She wanted your whole life to be bright and radiant.”
Gu Yulong didn’t argue with Gu Lulu. Instead, she pivoted to cozying up to Gu Qing.
“It’s the ‘Qing’ from ‘ruthless’,” Gu Qing said flatly.
“No need for a walk. I prefer to nap after eating. I’ll head back first.”
She glanced at her group. Qi Siyu and Gu Xiaoling instantly understood. Qi Siyu jumped up and pushed her wheelchair.
“Got it, let’s go nap first. We can visit the garden after a good rest.”
Gu Lulu pulled a silly face at Gu Yulong.
“Blehhh~”
“I really like A-Qing’s energy—it’s exactly what you would expect from Fourth Aunt’s daughter.”
With a sharp whoosh, Gu Yulong’s expression darkened, her molars grinding audibly in fury.
She had originally planned to keep up her act a little longer, but since Gu Qing was so ungracious, she figured she might as well drop the pretense.
Fine then—may the best woman win.
Hmph. What’s the easiest way to destroy someone?
Just make sure she can’t escape sex, drugs, and gambling.

By mid-afternoon, Gu Yulong politely said goodbye to Song Xinglin, claiming she had business to attend to and needed to leave the island.
Song Xinglin, too busy learning how to be a good mother, didn’t bother to entertain her and waved her off without so much as a farewell.
Gu Yulong appeared to leave by boat but instead circled around and landed on the far side of the island. She deftly avoided all the surveillance and hid herself in the botanical garden.
She had brought with her a “special” creation from her lab—never expected to use it so soon, but hey, now’s as good a time as any.

On the way back to the villa, Gu Lulu hesitated for a moment, then turned to Gu Qing with a warning.
“Gu Yulong’s not a good person. It’s not just that she’s after Fourth Uncle and Aunt’s fortune—when we were kids, I saw her torture geckos and mice for fun.”
“Thanks for the heads-up,” Gu Qing replied calmly. “I’ll be careful.”
“Don’t worry, we’ve got your back,” Qi Siyu patted her chest with confidence. “Just a minor side character—nothing she does can stir up a storm.”
Gu Xiaoling, though itching to sass her, ended up nodding.
“We’ll protect you, Gu-jie.”
Qi Siyu naturally pushed Gu Qing’s wheelchair into her room.
“Want some water? I’ll get you a glass.”
“No thanks, I’m full,” Gu Qing said, maneuvering the wheelchair to the window. She pulled the curtains shut—then stood up.
Turning around, she saw Qi Siyu already lounging on the sofa, pouring water for herself.
“I thought things were urgent?” Gu Qing asked lazily.
Cough cough! Qi Siyu choked on her drink.
“In broad daylight? What’s the rush? I just wanted to warn you—Gu Yulong probably drugged something. Be extra cautious with anything imported.”
In the original storyline, Gu Yulong had poisoned the drinks at a banquet Song Xinglin hosted to welcome Gu Qing back.
Someone else accidentally drank the spiked wine and went into a prolonged heat—despite repeated markings, they couldn’t recover, and in the end had to have their gland removed.
Apparently, it was a new kind of designer drug: once ingested, the options were either constant intake or being stuck in an uncontrollable heat.
“How do you know that?” Gu Qing sat down across from Qi Siyu, staring into her eyes with quiet intensity.
“I—I did some digging, obviously! Not just on Gu Yulong—I looked into your parents too. Who knows if they’re really good people?” Qi Siyu said self-righteously, though her “digging” was more like closely reading the original book.
“Thanks.” Gu Qing finally looked away. “I’m going to nap. You staying?”
Cough cough cough! Qi Siyu choked again.
“I’ll go!”
Highly suspicious! Gu Qing definitely said that on purpose to make it sound suggestive!
She’s so mean!
Qi Siyu covered her mouth and practically fled the room, her ears red.
The moment she sat down, she received a message from Gu Lulu:
【Fourth Aunt has very strict standards when it comes to love. If you try to date her daughter in secret and get caught, you’ll be blacklisted. If you don’t get her approval in the future, don’t say I didn’t warn you.】
Qi Siyu: ……
Could everyone just stop pushing her already? The temptation was right in front of her, and she really wanted a bite.
But that temptation could only be admired from afar—not indulged.
Damn it, how could she make them understand that Gu Qing was like those cultivators on the “Path of No Emotion”—her heart held nothing but her career!
Fuming, Qi Siyu texted back:
【Read. Not replying.】

That afternoon, once Gu Lulu heard that Gu Yulong had left, she suggested a group outing to the botanical garden.
The four of them set off together.
The sunlight was perfect, the temperature just right. A gentle sea breeze played through their hair, carrying a soft, comforting scent.
The path through the garden was made of stone, smooth enough for walking or a wheelchair. Plants of all kinds surrounded them, full of vibrant life.
“Those big dome things ahead hold plants that don’t adapt well to this climate. The nearest one is the tropical greenhouse,” Gu Lulu said, reading from a guidebook.
“Let’s check it out,” Gu Qing said, and no one objected.
As soon as they entered the tropical greenhouse, just a few steps in, they were all sweating.
“There’s water here—and lockers. You can leave your clothes if it gets too hot,” Gu Lulu said, locating a fridge and wardrobe near the entrance.
“Want something to drink?” She grabbed a bottle of Coke for herself.
“Yes, please!” Gu Xiaoling took a flashy bottle labeled in a foreign language.
Gu Qing opted for a simple bottle of mineral water.
Qi Siyu shook her head and held up her thermos.
“I brought my own.”
“Alright then, let’s keep moving.” Gu Lulu quickly realized she didn’t know enough about the plants to be a good guide, so she dragged Gu Xiaoling and Gu Qing away to give Qi Siyu some alone time.
Gu Xiaoling: ?
Whatever. Gu-jie had a powerful backer now, and this was the Gu family’s turf. Qi Siyu wouldn’t dare mess with her.
The group split into two pairs.
Shortly after, Qi Siyu excused herself to use the restroom, leaving Gu Qing alone.
In the center of the greenhouse was a faux mountain. Since the wheelchair couldn’t handle stairs, Gu Qing got up and walked up on her own.
Hidden below the fake mountain in a shadowy alcove, Gu Yulong nearly crushed a plant with her bare hands when she saw Gu Qing standing.
I knew it! She’s a fraud!
The wheelchair was obviously just bait to make Fourth Uncle and Aunt feel guilty!
She took a deep breath to calm down, then stealthily switched the water bottle in Gu Qing’s wheelchair basket with a drugged one.
She didn’t leave until she saw Gu Qing drink from it.
Then, confident and smug, she snuck off the island, ready to sit at home and wait for the good news.

Not long after, Qi Siyu came out of the restroom and was immediately hit by a rich scent of red wine and chocolate.
Qi Siyu: ?
“Gu Qing? Gu Qing!” she called out, searching anxiously until she saw the wheelchair.
She rushed over—and froze.
Gu Qing was slumped weakly in the chair, her entire body flushed red. Her eyes were squeezed shut, and faint groans escaped her lips. The air around her reeked of thick, oppressive pheromones—like someone’s gland had been torn open.
Qi Siyu’s brain went completely blank.
She instinctively released her own pheromones to soothe Gu Qing, just as she had done before.
But this time, the relief only made Gu Qing more restless.
Her lashes fluttered, and she managed to crack one eye open. When she saw it was Qi Siyu, most of her defenses crumbled. Her breathing was shallow and erratic.
“Mark me,” she gasped.
“…Okay.”
Qi Siyu licked her fangs—she hadn’t done this in so long, she felt rusty.
The moment she wrapped her arms around Gu Qing, the familiar feeling surged back. With speed, gentleness, and precision, she bit into Gu Qing’s swollen gland and began injecting her pheromones.
But Gu Qing didn’t feel the usual relief. Instead, a deeper craving took root. Her entire body was demanding more.
Her nerves were on fire, every cell screaming for satisfaction.
She wrapped her arms tightly around Qi Siyu, clinging to her like a lifeline.
Qi Siyu’s slightly cooler body temperature gave her a fleeting moment of comfort, but it quickly faded, and the desperation surged again.
She began exploring—hands wandering, seeking, grasping.
When the temporary mark ended, Qi Siyu tried to pull away—but Gu Qing only held her tighter.
Her skin burned to the touch, and Qi Siyu immediately realized something was wrong.
No way—was the drug already in play by lunchtime?!
【System! I want to draw a cure that’ll counteract whatever drug Gu Qing just ingested!】
【Understood, host. Please select the item “Cooling Pill.”】
Qi Siyu gritted her teeth, doing her best to ignore Gu Qing’s increasingly restless touches, and opened the system panel to draw the item.
Without even checking the other prizes, she shoved the Cooling Pill straight into Gu Qing’s mouth.
She exhaled in relief, her own face flushed deep red.
Another few seconds and she might’ve completely lost control.
But Gu Qing didn’t calm down.
Instead—she bit Qi Siyu’s hand.
Licked. Sucked. Her tongue tracing circles, clearly searching for more Cooling Pills.
Qi Siyu’s whole body tensed. Her soul nearly left her body.
【System! What the hell is going on?!】
【Host, the Cooling Pill only neutralizes toxins. The heroine is now in the middle of a natural heat. There is no prize that can safely suppress a full-blown heat cycle.】
Qi Siyu had no time to listen anymore.
Because Gu Qing—
kissed her.
