Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 69.2
“Sure. Xiaoling’s resting, seasick,” Gu Qing nodded.
“Oh? Did she take medicine? There’s a doctor onboard,” Gu Lulu asked worriedly.
“She took it.”
“That’s good.”
The three of them strolled through the entertainment areas, though Gu Qing, being in a wheelchair, couldn’t play many of the games.
At dinnertime, the three enjoyed a delicious meal, and Gu Qing brought some back for Gu Xiaoling.
“How’s Xiaoling?” Gu Lulu asked.
“Still a bit dizzy, but she can eat,” Gu Qing replied as she closed Xiaoling’s door.
“Good. So, any plans for tonight?” Gu Lulu asked.
“Rest,” Gu Qing said simply.
“I’m resting too,” Qi Siyu added quickly.
That strange feeling hit Gu Lulu again. She looked between them but found nothing amiss. “Alright then, let’s all rest. We can watch the sunrise tomorrow—it’s beautiful over the sea.”
With plans to see the sunrise, the three returned to their rooms.
Later that night, Qi Siyu quietly cracked open her door and peeked into the hallway.
Clear!
The corridor was empty, bathed in soft yellow lighting over a plush carpet. Peaceful and still.
She tiptoed over to Gu Qing’s room and twisted the doorknob—it was unlocked.
She didn’t even lock it. What else could that mean?
She’s definitely waiting for me!
“I’m here~” Qi Siyu whispered.
“Mm.” Gu Qing looked up from her book, her smoky gray eyes catching Qi Siyu in full sneaky mode.
This radiant beauty managed to give herself a sleazy aura with that expression.
“Hehe.” Qi Siyu grinned. She could tell Gu Qing was silently judging her. “Don’t you think this is kind of exciting?”
It felt like sneaking around in an affair. Of course, that was something Qi Siyu would never dare say out loud to Gu Qing.
“There’s nothing thrilling about friendship,” Gu Qing replied calmly.
Qi Siyu let out an awkward laugh. There was something off in Gu Qing’s tone, but she couldn’t quite figure out what. So, she quickly changed the subject. “Let’s get to bed, you must be tired after such a long flight.”
“Mm.” Gu Qing closed the book and tucked it back into her backpack.
The next morning, Qi Siyu’s alarm went off right on time.
She tiptoed out of her room as usual. Peeking out, she was relieved—no one was around.
Turning to gently shut her door, she spun around and came face-to-face with Gu Lulu’s stunned expression.
Qi Siyu was equally shocked. “Y-you… What are you doing here?!”
“That’s my question!” Gu Lulu kept her voice low but couldn’t hide the shock and panic in her expression. “‘Just good friends’?”
“Good enough to sleep in the same room?”
Qi Siyu tried her best to maintain a straight face, mimicking Gu Qing’s usual composure. “Exactly! It’s perfectly normal for close friends to have a deep conversation at night. Try to understand—anyone would feel unsettled after suddenly discovering they have biological parents out of nowhere.”
“Sure, but the way you’re sneaking out like it’s routine doesn’t exactly scream first time.” Gu Lulu rolled her eyes so hard they nearly fell out. “Even if something’s going on between you and A-
Qing, it’s not like it’s shameful. Why be so secretive?”
“There’s nothing going on. We’re just friends.” Qi Siyu faked a yawn. “Ugh, I’m so tired. Spent all night comforting Gu Qing. Gonna catch up on sleep.”
She darted around Gu Lulu and disappeared into her own room.
By the time Gu Lulu snapped out of it, Qi Siyu was long gone. Fuming, she gave Qi Siyu’s door a good kick.
If that was a purely platonic friendship, then she’d start writing her name backwards!
The entire day, Qi Siyu avoided making eye contact with Gu Lulu.
Ahem. While she might not be totally innocent in action or intention, she knew Gu Qing was destined for a lonely life—so nothing would ever actually happen between them!
Still, to outsiders, seeing an Alpha and an Omega constantly clinging to each other, sharing intimate moments like scent-gland biting and hand-holding… How could anyone believe there wasn’t something more?
Let them think whatever they want.
Unfortunately, Qi Siyu’s guilty little evasions only made Gu Lulu more certain that something was going on between her and A-Qing.
That night, Gu Lulu brought out a small folding stool and sat in front of Gu Qing’s door, catching Qi Siyu red-handed just as she poked her head out.
Qi Siyu: …
“Tsk. Just friends, huh?” Gu Lulu muttered before walking back to her room, dragging her little stool behind her.
She had sat there all that time just to drop one line. If she had this much dedication in life, she would be unstoppable.
Qi Siyu composed herself and continued sneaking into Gu Qing’s room.
But just as she shut the door, her phone rang. She looked down—it was a call from Su Ningqing.
“Hello—” she hadn’t finished speaking when Su Ningqing’s accusatory voice came through loud and clear.
“Qi Siyu, what the hell is this supposed to mean?!”
“What’s what supposed to mean?” Qi Siyu was completely lost.
“Don’t play dumb. You’re telling me it wasn’t you who arranged for Gu Qing to break her contracts with those dramas? I just received over a billion yuan in penalties. Do you think I need the money?!” Su Ningqing was fuming. She had only cast Gu Qing because her wife liked her.
If Gu Qing actually broke the contracts, her wife would be devastated.
“Do I look like someone who can casually cough up a billion-plus yuan?” Qi Siyu’s hands were trembling.
There was only one explanation—Gu Qing’s biological parents had found out and quietly paid the termination fees.
And if they had investigated that far, did that mean they’d also discovered the original host’s awful behavior?
“Shit, you better give me an explanation for this!” Su Ningqing’s voice boomed from the speaker.
Though Qi Siyu hadn’t turned on speakerphone, Gu Qing—who had just walked over—heard everything.
She recognized Su Ningqing’s voice. “What explanation?”
“Uh… maybe it was your biological parents,” Qi Siyu stammered, “They probably paid to end your contracts with Su Ningqing.”
Gu Qing frowned. She took the phone directly from Qi Siyu and said coolly, “I’m not breaking any contracts. I’m still doing all of Ningmo’s dramas. You can return the penalty money to the original account.”
“Phew… good.” Su Ningqing let out a long sigh. As long as Gu Qing stayed on, her wife wouldn’t be upset.
As for her birth parents? Su Ningqing couldn’t care less—just no more contract drama, please.
In her world, wife > all.
Qi Siyu gingerly accepted the phone back from Gu Qing. That one frown from Gu Qing had nearly scared her to death.
It was the first time she’d seen Gu Qing react so strongly.
Clearly, Gu Qing hated being meddled with—especially without her knowledge.
Qi Siyu texted Gu Lulu to get Gu Junsi’s number, then made the call.
Gu Junsi had actually gotten Gu Qing’s number from Gu Lulu already, but he had been too cautious to use it, afraid of disturbing her.
So when the call came in, he instantly recognized it.
“Xinglin, Xinglin! She’s calling!” he shouted, running over to Song Xinglin, who was mid-workout. He quickly answered and put it on speaker.
“Hello,” Gu Qing’s voice was calm, almost cold. Both Gu Junsi and Song Xinglin stiffened.
“A-Qing! What a surprise. Is everything okay?” Gu Junsi asked. It should’ve been evening for her by now.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t interfere with my affairs,” Gu Qing said flatly.
Huh? Gu Junsi was stunned—he hadn’t done anything!
One glance at his wife, and he knew.
Ah. Case closed.
“Sorry. It won’t happen again,” he apologized on her behalf. He didn’t know exactly what Xinglin had done, but clearly she’d taken what she thought was a helpful initiative.
Gu Qing paused, her tone softening slightly. “There’s no need to apologize. You’re not me. You couldn’t have known how I feel.”
“Mhm, we’ll make sure to ask for your input next time,” Gu Junsi replied gently, his voice warm and soft. “We’re really looking forward to seeing you.”
He covered the mic and whispered to Song Xinglin, “Do you want to say something?”
After some hesitation, Song Xinglin decided against it. Better to wait until they met. She had discovered that Gu Qing’s agent had secretly signed her to exploitative contracts, so she had stepped in and paid the termination fees.
She hadn’t expected that it would upset Gu Qing.
They would talk in person. Without seeing Gu Qing’s face, she didn’t want to risk saying the wrong thing.
A lifetime of being decisive and bold—and now she was second-guessing everything.
“Mm,” Gu Qing said, then after a brief pause, added softly, “See you tomorrow.”
The moment Gu Qing set her phone down, Qi Siyu quietly withdrew her ear from the door. She was relieved.
If Gu Qing’s parents knew what the original host had done, at least they probably wouldn’t quietly dispose of her.
Qi Siyu was confident—after all, she and Gu Qing were now good friends.
