- Chapter 35 - The Coveted Treasure
Gu Qing spent the entire afternoon holed up in the room with Qi Siyu. Gao Zhonghai had no choice but to let it be.
It wasn’t until 8:40 PM, twenty minutes before the evening check-in, that Gu Qing prepared to leave. She turned to Qi Siyu and gently coaxed, “I’ll be out for just twenty minutes. Be good and stay here to watch TV, okay?”
“I don’t want to! I don’t want to be alone!” Qi Siyu’s tears spilled out instantly at the suggestion. Her eyes, wet like a rain-soaked night sky, glistened beneath fluttering lashes still beaded with tears. The faint redness at the corners of her eyes made her look particularly pitiful.
She didn’t cry silently—when she cried, it was with the volume and drama of a thunderstorm. And she cried with confidence, fully expecting sympathy—and to get what she wanted.
It was the kind of bold entitlement only someone who’d been pampered from birth could possess.
Gu Qing’s heart softened, her willpower dissolving as if all strength had left her body. She immediately gave in: “Okay, okay, don’t cry. I’ll take you with me.”
“Hiccup.” Qi Siyu let out a tearful little hiccup. But her face had already turned into a silly, satisfied smile—tears still clinging to her lashes and streaking her cheeks.
She leaned forward, smiling like a fool.
Gu Qing, already used to it, pulled out a wet wipe to clean off the tear tracks, then used a tissue to gently dry her face.
After a whole afternoon and evening of this, she had already been “tamed” by Qi Siyu’s tears.
Let’s just consider this payback for how good Qi Siyu has been to me lately, Gu Qing thought to herself indifferently. It’s just an exchange.
Once they part ways in the future, even if Qi Siyu cries her eyes out, she’ll remain unmoved.

Instead of pushing Gu Qing’s wheelchair from behind, Qi Siyu walked right beside her, keeping pace on her left.
Soon, her attention was caught by the ends of Gu Qing’s hair. She sneakily reached out and wrapped a lock of it around her finger, playing with it absentmindedly.
Sun Yingying had been waiting in the living room for a long time. That afternoon, she had camped out in front of Gu Qing’s door to no avail, only to learn from livestream viewers that the two hadn’t planned to go out at all.
She hadn’t gotten even a sliver of a chance to approach Qi Siyu.
But they had to show up for the evening check-in, and Sun Yingying was ready. She planned to give Qi Siyu a scented sachet she had prepared herself.
It wasn’t just any sachet—it contained the concentrated essence of her pheromones. Supposedly calming and sleep-inducing, it was designed to let someone fall asleep surrounded by her scent.
During an Alpha’s susceptibility period, their glands are extremely vulnerable. Prolonged exposure to a foreign pheromone—especially one deliberately amplified—can create a pathological dependence or even obsessive attachment to that scent.
Sun Yingying had done her research. She didn’t believe mere beauty or charm could make a wealthy Alpha fall head over heels.
In the ABO world, pheromones were king.
And if the sachet didn’t work, she had a plan B.
If that failed, there was plan C, D, E, and F…
She was in no rush. Sun Yingying had mapped out a detailed gold-digger strategy. As an Omega with no special talents other than good looks, her only path up the social ladder was marrying into wealth.
And finally, after all her waiting, Gu Qing and Qi Siyu arrived.
Sun Yingying darted forward like a spring-loaded trap. “Good evening, Miss Gu, Miss Qi! I heard that Miss Qi’s entered her susceptibility period. Do you need help? I’ve looked after my little siblings at home, so I’m really good with kids!”
The last time she’d tried this tactic, she had aimed at Qi Siyu to get closer to Gu Qing.
Now, just two days later, her target had switched.
Gu Qing politely shook her head. “No need. The production team has things covered.”
“Alright, but if you ever need help, just call me~” Sun Yingying walked up beside Qi Siyu and discreetly released a trace of her pheromones.
“Achoo!” Qi Siyu suddenly sneezed, scooting closer to Gu Qing while rubbing her nose with a frown. “Something really nasty just drifted over…”
Sun Yingying: !!
Seriously? Can’t you appreciate a good scent? Her rose-scented pheromones were universally liked!
Qi Siyu took a few exaggerated steps forward, pulling Gu Qing’s wheelchair along. She sniffed the air like a curious seal, then clapped her hands. “Gone! The gross smell’s gone!”
Gu Qing shot a glance at the now-pale Sun Yingying and—surprisingly—felt a little better.
There were always plenty of OOs and BBs staring at Qi Siyu. They were all fooled by her sweet, rich, caring persona. But people like Sun Yingying? Even if they knew Qi Siyu was a manipulative scumbag, they’d still throw themselves at her.
But now, this new version of Qi Siyu—clingy, sensitive, and gentle—might attract even more.
Sun Yingying quickly adjusted her expression and chased after them again.

The three of them sat down on the sofa.
Sun Yingying took out two small sachets. “Miss Gu, Miss Qi, I went to Wanguo Temple this afternoon and got these protective scented sachets. They help calm the mind and aid sleep. I brought one for each of you.”
The sachets were small, about the size of two knuckles. Red fabric, yellow runes embroidered on the front, and red tassels hanging at the bottom.
Normally, it would be impolite to reject something like this. Gu Qing reached out with a thank-you, but Qi Siyu smacked the sachet out of her hand with a swift slap.
The motion was sharp and fierce—tinged with hostility.
Qi Siyu’s whole body tensed up like a bristling cat. Her brows furrowed, and her eyes were filled with alertness and disgust. “It’s awful! Bad thing! Don’t take it!”
“Awful!”
She repeated herself forcefully and looked stubbornly at Gu Qing, like she’d cry if Gu Qing didn’t agree with her.
Sun Yingying clenched her back teeth and put on a pitiful expression, tears welling in her eyes. “It’s not a bad thing. I prayed for it sincerely at the temple…”
“Bad thing!” Qi Siyu insisted, but with her current state of mind, she couldn’t articulate a proper argument.
Gu Qing trusted her, but to outsiders, she just looked like a child throwing a tantrum.
So Gu Qing patiently asked, “Why do you think it’s bad?”
“Because it has Omega pheromone essence inside.” Yan Xuan came jogging over, offering Gu Qing a flattering smile.
Today, she had finally understood the cost of crossing Gu Qing. Even if she’d braced herself to be a controversial “hate-follow,” the tidal wave of public backlash was something she hadn’t been able to handle.
She’d been apologizing in the livestream chat all day—but it hadn’t helped much.
So the moment she saw a chance to make things right, even if it meant offending Sun Yingying, she didn’t hesitate.
“My nose is sensitive,” Yan Xuan explained. “There’s Omega pheromone in that sachet. If you don’t believe me, we can send it to a lab. It smells like rose pheromones.”
“Alphas in their susceptibility period are hypersensitive to pheromones they’re not compatible with. That’s why it made Miss Qi uncomfortable.”
“What exactly were you trying to do?” she questioned Sun Yingying directly.
“I don’t know anything about that! I really got it at the temple this afternoon,” Sun Yingying cried, clearly not expecting to be exposed on the spot. Her first instinct was to distance herself.
In an instant, tears spilled down her face like a broken dam. She looked heartbreakingly wronged.
Of course, the outer shell of the sachet really had come from the temple. She’d just swapped out part of the stuffing inside.

It was nearly 9 PM. The other guests began trickling in. The sound of an argument had drawn them like wolves scenting blood.
The drone camera zeroed in on the scene.
All anyone could think about now was one thing: heat—drama meant attention, and attention meant popularity.
And in the end, it would be popularity that decided who won the show’s final grand prize.
“Your pheromone is rose-scented—I smelled it last night!” Bai Ming’an was the first to jump in. “Just send the sachet to a lab. The database already has our pheromone profiles, they can match it. There’s no way a real temple sachet would have your scent in it, right?”
She spoke with absolute certainty, like she knew the whole plot. In truth, Bai Ming’an was bluffing—she didn’t even know Sun Yingying’s pheromone profile. But saying this now was the right move.
Yu Shanmei, always the blunt one, went straight for the jugular. “If you’ve got nothing to hide, why are you sweating bullets? You’re obviously trying to poison Miss Gu!”
The others began to mock and jeer at Sun Yingying as well. Her face flushed bright red, and silent tears slid down her cheeks—she looked absolutely heartbroken.
But in truth, she was grinding her teeth in rage, seething with hatred toward all these meddlesome people.
“Alright,” Gu Qing finally spoke, cutting off the farce. “Regardless of the intent, since Siyu doesn’t like the scent of the sachet, please take it back, Miss Sun.”
Her tone was calm, but her words left no room for argument.
Gu Qing was clearly choosing not to pursue the matter further, which left the others disappointed. Such a golden opportunity—so perfect for blowing up drama and riding the trending charts for at least a day—was being shut down just like that?
Sun Yingying hurriedly stuffed the sachet back into her pocket and wiped away her tears. “Thank you, Miss Gu, for being willing to believe me.”
Gu Qing didn’t respond. She cast a light glance in Sun Yingying’s direction—calm, detached.
But that one look struck Sun Yingying like a bolt of lightning.
Her whole body went cold. In that moment, it felt as if all her desires and ambitions were laid bare under Gu Qing’s gaze, completely exposed.
She lowered her head, grinding her molars silently. No one is going to stand in my way.
Suddenly, a gentle tap landed on Gu Qing’s shoulder. She looked up to find Qi Siyu.
The Alpha had returned to her usual self, her bright eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and… anticipation?
Gu Qing studied her expression carefully, but could only decipher that one emotion—expectation.
Expecting what?
“Siyu,” Qi Siyu whispered softly.
When Gu Qing didn’t react, she repeated, “Siyu.”
Gu Qing: ?
“Siyu,” she repeated in a quiet voice.
“Yay!” Qi Siyu clapped her hands like an excited seal, eyes curving with pure joy.
Had she never called Qi Siyu by name before?
Gu Qing thought for a moment but couldn’t quite remember.
What’s so exciting about hearing your name? It was an emotion Gu Qing couldn’t quite relate to.
Still, since Qi Siyu was so happy, Gu Qing humored her and called her name a few more times.
On its own, the name “Siyu” was indeed beautiful—”Si” representing discipline or control, and “Yu” meaning elegance or virtue. It rolled off the tongue gracefully—smooth, powerful, yet refined.
What a waste that such a good name had once belonged to that insufferable jerk.

It wasn’t until the host announced the start of the day’s earnings tally that the words “Siyu” finally stopped looping in Gu Qing’s mind. She patted Qi Siyu’s back gently, signaling her to quiet down.
It was finally time for the results.
Bai Ming’an held her head high, chin raised, posture proud.
She was certain she had earned the most “Leisure Coins” today. No one had completed more tasks than she had!
The host noticed her eagerness and chuckled. “Another safe day—no one’s in debt over two hundred tokens. Let’s reveal today’s leaderboard rankings. Only today’s earnings will be counted!”
A crew member wheeled in the results board, and everyone turned to look at who had made it to the top.
“What?!” Bai Ming’an and Jia Junjie both shouted in unison, identical expressions of shock and disbelief on their faces.
Bai Ming’an practically screamed, “I clearly earned 957 coins today! How did I end up with only 319?!”
She had lost more than two-thirds of her total!
Breathing heavily, she swept a sharp gaze across all the contestants. “Did someone steal my coins?!”
“Please don’t panic, Miss Bai,” the host said with a placating smile. “Jia Junjie used a skill card on you, transferring two-thirds of your tokens to herself.”
“Then why am I also missing so many?!” Jia Junjie was unfazed by Bai Ming’an’s murderous glare. Fair play was fair play—Bai Ming’an hadn’t exactly been playing nice either.
“I earned 308 tokens today, and with the 638 I got from using the skill card, I should have 946. So how come I only have 473?”
“Because Miss Gu also used a skill card on you, taking half of your tokens,” the host replied cheerfully. “Don’t forget, you can buy protective shields at the shop to guard your tokens from being stolen.”
Everyone: …
That smug tone was infuriating—the production team didn’t even try to hide their malicious glee.
In the final rankings, Bai Ming’an, Jia Junjie, and Gu Qing were nowhere near the top. They came in 6th, 5th, and 4th place respectively.
Bai Ming’an glared daggers at Jia Junjie, teeth grinding in frustration. But the more she stared, the more a smile tugged at her lips.
Her top fan had messaged her earlier: blackmail posts targeting Jia Junjie were already spreading like wildfire. That woman probably wouldn’t survive until the next episode.
Fine. I’ll consider those lost coins my gift to accompany her downfall.
There were already tons of nasty comments flooding in about Jia Junjie. And no matter how thick-skinned she was, she still hated being insulted.
Over time, she’d gotten used to not reading the livestream comments, so she had no idea that her reputation was currently crashing and burning online.
Seeing Bai Ming’an smile at her so cryptically made her scowl in return. She assumed Bai Ming’an was mocking her for acting like a clever predator, only to end up with nothing.
The rankings for popularity, livestream view count, and comment volume still had Gu Qing at the top—and she had never been at the bottom.
After the earnings were tallied, Gu Qing led Qi Siyu back to their room.
Now that the Alpha had held it in all day, the moment she was “unsealed,” she resumed chasing after Gu Qing—eager to hear her name again and again.
Gu Qing couldn’t help but wonder: When Qi Siyu wakes up, I really should ask—has no one ever called her by name before? Why is she so addicted to it?

It was now 9:40 PM, and the penalty phase had ended.
Sun Yingying, having calmed herself, went to knock on Gu Qing’s door.
There was no way she’d give up after something this minor—so now it was time to execute Plan B.
If the sachet didn’t work, then she’d spray some pheromone-inducing agent containing her own scent near President Qi. It would subtly influence Qi Siyu to crave her pheromones.
The stuff was expensive—very expensive—but it was colorless, odorless, and wouldn’t be noticed. She’d just need to use it regularly. Once the show ended, she’d have to find another way to stay close to Qi Siyu.
Sigh. If only she’d accepted the sachet, I wouldn’t have to go to such lengths.
Hearing the knock, Gu Qing went to open the door. Qi Siyu, like an obedient little shadow, followed right behind her.
The moment the door opened, it felt like a breeze blew in.
Gu Qing frowned ever so slightly. Something felt… off, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Then Qi Siyu suddenly raised her hand and waved it in front of her nose—a motion that made Sun Yingying jump.
She was terrified that Qi Siyu had detected the pheromone agent.
Fortunately, Qi Siyu simply rubbed her nose and dropped her hand, saying nothing more.
Sun Yingying quickly bowed and apologized again before hurrying off, clutching the mini air-spray bottle so tightly it left indentations in her palm.
Gu Qing watched her leave, a deepening frown on her face. She definitely needed to keep an eye on that woman.
But for now, since nothing seemed immediately wrong, she focused on coaxing Qi Siyu into bed before returning to her own room.
She prepared the suppressant—after all, her Alpha was mentally compromised and clearly wouldn’t remember to give her daily temporary marks.

But in the middle of the night, Gu Qing was jolted awake… by biting.
The Alpha had wrapped herself around her tightly, burying her fluffy head against Gu Qing’s neck, her scorching-hot tongue brazenly licking her skin.
Gu Qing immediately realized—something was very wrong.
This Alpha… was in heat.
