- Chapter 113 EXTRA 13 - The Variety Show Ends
The first few days were the most exhausting, but once everyone settled in, they began to find joy in the routine and even made a few local friends.
At the invitation of these friends, Qi Siyu and the others planned a weekend camping trip and a visit to the local music festival.
Niu Wenrui and her husband were even going to perform on stage, while Qi Siyu and Gu Qing scored themselves two “purely for show” accompaniment roles—clapping hands and stomping feet in time with the beat.
Some friends had heard Gu Qing’s covers of two songs and wanted her to sing live, but Gu Qing’s throat hadn’t been feeling great lately, so she regretfully declined.
The production crew sent along a follow-cam, planning to turn the footage into a special episode for the viewers.
“On stage” was a bit of an exaggeration—there wasn’t an actual stage. The event was set up on the grassy field of a sports park, with speakers and microphones placed in different areas.
Before 3 p.m., anyone could queue up to use the equipment freely. After 3 p.m., only registered performers could take the mic, and without a host, each performer had to handle their own introductions.
There were also some small games and mini-competitions with little trinkets as prizes—purely for fun.
Qi Siyu’s group arrived around two in the afternoon. As soon as they stepped out of the car in the park’s lot, they were greeted by a lively mix of sounds.
The weather was bright and breezy, with soft white clouds in a clear sky, lush green grass underfoot, and a few colorful kites drifting in the air.
“Nice environment,” Qi Siyu commented after taking a slow look around. Stretching lazily, she added, “Looks like today’s going to be a good day.”
Gu Qing reached out to adjust Qi Siyu’s sun hat. “Mm.”
She was simply following Qi Siyu’s itinerary, yet the act of absentmindedly fixing her clothes still carried an intimate air.
Qi Siyu: …
Niu Wenrui, trying and failing to hold back a laugh, burst out, “Hahaha! Miss Gu, maybe she wants to wear it crooked on purpose.”
Gu Qing looked at Qi Siyu in mild confusion. Qi Siyu puffed out her cheeks and struck a cute pose. “I look good no matter how I wear it, right?”
Without a word, Gu Qing tilted the hat askew again. “Mm. Cute.”
They had just bought these hats the day before, along with matching local outfits and accessories for the music festival.
“Pfft… hahahaha…” Niu Wenrui’s laughter was relentless.
It was too noisy—enough to make one want to run away. Qi Siyu took Gu Qing’s hand. “Let’s go check out the lake?”
Gu Qing agreed, while Niu Wenrui and her husband wanted to warm up their voices, so the group split in two.
The lake’s surface rippled under the wind. Parents and children played along the shore—some kids with toy fishing rods pretending to fish, others scooping at the water with nets, and still others playing with rubber duckies. Laughter, shouts, and cries mingled in the open air.
Walking onto a floating bridge, Qi Siyu bounced with each step, enjoying the sway more and more.
“Little Qi, want a lotus-shaped popsicle?” Gu Qing’s pinky brushed teasingly across Qi Siyu’s palm.
The touch sent an electric jolt through her. Qi Siyu shot Gu Qing a shy glare. “We’re filming a show out here!”
Now wasn’t the time to seduce her! One “little” from Gu Qing had her flashing back to certain bedroom cosplay scenarios.
Aside from Gu Qing’s favorite teacher–student roleplay, they’d occasionally indulged in other playful setups.
“Mm. I’m giving the crew more material to work with. The lotus popsicles are pretty,” Gu Qing replied evenly.
If it wasn’t for that wandering pinky, Qi Siyu might’ve believed her.
“Fine.” Qi Siyu huffed. “But you’re the one who really wants it, Gu little friend.”
She kept bouncing forward along the floating bridge, making the whole structure rise and fall beneath them.
Watching her in such high spirits, Gu Qing found herself thinking they should install both a swing bed and a waterbed at home.
Maybe not in their city apartment, but they could always renovate the suburban villa. It had plenty of bedrooms—more than enough for themed rooms.
“Hey. Earth to you.” Qi Siyu waved a hand in front of Gu Qing’s face. Those smoky-gray eyes looked normal, but they’d been unfocused for quite some time. Qi Siyu tapped her forehead. “What are you thinking about? Come pick your lotus popsicle.”
“I was thinking about things we can’t air,” Gu Qing said matter-of-factly, lowering her head to scan the freezer. She casually chose one. “This one—pink and purple twin lotus.”
They bought just one popsicle—on purpose.
Sharing one between two people was as suggestive as it got.
Gu Qing unwrapped it, took a bite, and held it up to Qi Siyu’s lips.
The delicate lotus shape now had a bite missing and a faint sheen of shimmery lipstick.
Qi Siyu flushed, hesitated, then took it in hand and bit a small piece from the other side.
Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the cameraman filming them, making her even more self-conscious.
She was too used to being behind the camera—she didn’t like being on the other side of the lens.
Since Gu Qing didn’t seem that interested in the popsicle, Qi Siyu ended up holding onto it. She didn’t feed Gu Qing again, and Gu Qing didn’t ask for more—until the ice cream started melting.
Then, Gu Qing caught her wrist and leaned in, licking from the stick upward.
From Qi Siyu’s angle, she could clearly see Gu Qing’s pink tongue curl around the melting edge, the blended pink-and-purple ice dripping with a sensual charge.
Gulp.
Both of them heard Qi Siyu swallow audibly.
Gu Qing chuckled low in her throat, letting her tongue slide over Qi Siyu’s fingers gripping the stick.
The heat of her tongue and the chill of the ice alternated against her skin, making Qi Siyu shiver. She quickly popped the rest of the popsicle into her mouth—better to eat it all than let Gu Qing keep licking.
Any more and she’d be pushed straight into heat.
With a faint smile in her eyes, Gu Qing slowly licked her lips. The gleam left behind was devastating.
From the camera’s angle, all they’d see was the back of Gu Qing’s head and how close the two of them stood—practically forehead to forehead.
Once the episode aired, fans were bound to wonder just how exactly the two of them had been eating that popsicle.
Qi Siyu wanted nothing more than to kiss Gu Qing breathless, but with so many people around, she could only devour her with her eyes.
Gu Qing stepped back to walk beside her again, poking at Qi Siyu’s puffed-out cheeks. “Cold?”
Qi Siyu swallowed hard. “My teeth are strong.”
“Mm. I know.”
That sentence left plenty of room for interpretation—how many places had she bitten for Gu Qing to “know” that?
Qi Siyu’s blush deepened.
Thankfully, the noise of the crowd helped smother her rising desire.
They soon spotted Niu Wenrui and her husband, who were first up to perform after 3 p.m.
Qi Siyu and Gu Qing stood behind them, clapping along to the beat.
It was an upbeat love duet—real couples made for the sweetest harmonies.
The energy in their section was sky-high, and when the song ended, the audience began chanting in unison, “Kiss! Kiss!”
Qi Siyu joined in, “Kiss!”
Smack. Qi Siyu froze. Gu Qing had kissed her on the cheek.
Even in the din, Qi Siyu heard that little smack perfectly.
“You said kiss,” Gu Qing said calmly.
That was for them, not me! Qi Siyu’s mind screamed. Her cheeks burned as the crowd’s wooooos rose, and she ducked her head.
Niu Wenrui and her husband, in contrast, went all out—kissing passionately, pulling apart with a strand of saliva between them.
So as not to hold up the next act, the four of them moved on.
“Let’s find something to join in on,” Niu Wenrui suggested innocently, though she’d clearly planned ahead—dragging Tang Lingxiao and shoving Qi Siyu toward the activity area.
For two couples, the most entertaining events were, naturally, those designed for lovers.
Qi Siyu was all but forced to sign up, only to blanch when she heard the events: princess carry across a balance beam, carrying a ping-pong ball between their chests… and a kiss-duration contest.
What if I go into heat right there?!
But there was no backing out. They strapped on numbered armbands and were led to the starting line.
Niu Wenrui and Tang Lingxiao were smiling and chatting to the cameras.
Qi Siyu and Gu Qing, on the other hand, weren’t speaking—or even making eye contact.
Gu Qing refrained from teasing her further, knowing Qi Siyu was already like a balloon on the verge of popping—cute, but too fragile to poke right now.
The first challenge was the princess carry across a balance beam suspended over a pool of foam balls. Ten beams, eighty couples—plenty of jostling.
Too shy to push through the crowd, Qi Siyu simply held Gu Qing and waited. It wasn’t a timed race; they just had to cross.
In her arms, Gu Qing rested her face against Qi Siyu’s chest, listening to the rapid, strong heartbeat.
Out of sight of the cameras, her lips curved.
Qi Siyu’s hold was steady and secure. Unlike some men struggling to carry their petite wives, she looked utterly at ease, her arm muscles shifting in smooth, powerful lines.
They passed the first challenge easily and received a bowl with three ping-pong balls for the next.
It was only a ten-meter walk, but…
Facing each other, Qi Siyu squeezed the ball in her hand hard enough to dent it.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw other couples hugging so close there was no space between them, and her pulse skyrocketed.
She wasn’t just shy—she was genuinely worried about brushing too close and triggering her heat.
Beep beep beep!
Gu Qing’s smartband sounded an alert. She raised her wrist. “Heart rate warning.”
They had each other’s vitals synced, always knowing the other’s condition.
Fans might be surprised to learn the ever-composed Gu Qing’s heart rate had shot up past 160.
“Think you can handle it?” Gu Qing asked, half-concerned she might faint.
“Of course.” Qi Siyu gritted her teeth, wedged the ball between their chests, then gripped Gu Qing’s thighs and lifted her clean off the ground.
Gu Qing blinked, then quickly wrapped her legs around Qi Siyu’s waist.
Just like that, Qi Siyu strode across the distance.
Others imitated them—those with good core strength succeeded, while the weaker ones stumbled along awkwardly.
A light sheen of sweat covered Qi Siyu’s forehead, her lemon-candy-sweet pheromones drifting in the air.
Gu Qing’s legs stayed hooked around her, her own chocolate-red-wine pheromones beginning to stir.
“You okay?” This time, Qi Siyu asked her.
With so many Alphas and Omegas in one place, the mingling scents were a constant stimulus.
“I’m fine.” Gu Qing’s voice held a faint pant. “We’re definitely winning something.”
Next was the kissing contest, the crowd buzzing with anticipation.
At the signal, the remaining couples started going at it, the sounds of lips and tongues mixing with the cheers around them.
Contrary to the expected endurance match, over half the couples gave up within a minute.
Qi Siyu and Gu Qing, however, lasted the full three minutes—earning themselves a prize.
They didn’t even look at it, hurrying straight home from the park… and into the bedroom.
The next morning, all four of them slept in.
