Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Boss of the Disabled Heroine - Chapter 69
“I told you to act sooner, but you wouldn’t listen. You had to play that pure love nonsense. Look now, she’s been lured away. How are you going to win her back?”
In the smoke-filled private booth of an internet café, a long-haired female Alpha adjusted her blue-light glasses and irritably pushed aside her bangs.
The man standing beside her wore a mocking smirk, his disdain plain on his face. The computer screen played a livestream of Chen Lulu’s birthday fan meet, a semi-public broadcast accessible by simply entering her birthdate.
Liu Huanran had no interest in the celebrity’s birthday bash. The person who infuriated her had already left early, all but confirming that the two weren’t here as fans but to flaunt their relationship. Chen Lulu was still on stage, yet they had already departed, as if deliberately making a show of it for someone.
Even though neither had mentioned her, nor noticed Liu Huanran’s surveillance, an inexplicable rage burned inside her.
Every time she saw Pei Yujiang, a little demon inside her clawed at her mind, as if this woman had already turned her into a cuckold.
Liu Huanran regretted countless times not heeding this man’s advice to mark Yu Zhiwan, foolishly hoping the cold-hearted Omega would develop feelings for her as the plot dictated.
No, she had been certain that, according to the story, she was destined to win Yu Zhiwan over. In the original narrative, this Omega was supposed to fall for her, even bear her child.
When she first transmigrated into this ABO world, Liu Huanran had treasured her Alpha identity, dreaming of a future with a wife, children, and a thriving career. But Pei Yujiang’s arrival had violently derailed everything, steering the plot onto an entirely different course.
Framed by Pei Yujiang, Liu Huanran was forced to resign from Yuerong and join a new company. Initially sidelined, she gained favor only after leaking some of Yuerong’s confidential information, albeit with modifications to her boss.
The boss praised her designs effusively, even promising her a share of the profits once the new product launched.
As a product planner, she wasn’t responsible for production, and the boss assured her his team would handle the rest. Liu Huanran basked in dreams of dividends until testers reported the formula was too harsh for their skin.
The formula irritated the skin of local users, yet reducing its potency would compromise its effects. When the boss asked Liu Huanran for revisions, she was at a loss she wasn’t a specialist in this field in her original world, and the transmigrated body’s owner was a half-baked amateur. How was she supposed to fix this?
The boss swiftly turned on her, berating her as useless, a waste of company resources for producing garbage that delayed the next product launch.
With the product already slated for release, it was hastily pulled and replaced with a backup plan. Furious, the boss demoted her to a menial role in another department no perks, a pay cut, and a clear message: she wasn’t wanted.
According to contract law, employers cannot fire employees without just cause. Admitting the real reason would be disgraceful, and if Liu Huanran made it public, it would tarnish the company’s reputation. That’s why the boss came up with this disgusting scheme to pressure her into quitting.
While gritting her teeth and enduring it, Liu Huanran had been searching for another job. When Yu Zhiwan left, she hadn’t paid the rent for the second half of the year. The apartment they shared was expensive, forcing Liu Huanran to take out a loan to cover the cost.
Since arriving in this world, she had enjoyed living lavishly without saving much. Seeing the rental amount had nearly made her faint. After barely managing to repay the loan, she now lived in a shabby one-bedroom apartment, scraping by on her meager salary, a sharp fall from her previous high-spending lifestyle.
She knew Yu Zhiwan was secretly wealthy, but that hadn’t mattered before since the heiress had no connection to her. Now, watching her being taken away right before her eyes, Liu Huanran’s resentment was entirely different from mere envy.
The person beside her continued to mock her with sarcastic remarks. Already irritated, Liu Huanran suddenly slammed the table with a loud “smack,” knocking over the half-eaten cup of instant noodles. The lukewarm, sticky broth spilled all over the keyboard, dripping steadily onto the floor.
She didn’t even bother cleaning it up. Instead, she grabbed the person by the collar and snarled:
“Are you fucking done? Say one more word in front of me, and I’ll drag your ass to the police station. Get lost!”
Her Alpha pheromones surged through the air, thick with oppressive dominance, but the person remained unfazed. Instead, they smirked, staring at Liu Huanran’s beautiful yet twisted face with amusement, speaking in a tone as if coaxing a stubborn child:
“Oh, so you are an Alpha. I almost forgot thought you didn’t have what it takes to mark Yu Zhiwan.” They paused. “But shouldn’t you be glad Pei Yujiang isn’t an Alpha? Heh, that Omega hasn’t been claimed yet, has she?”
Their tone was as casual as appraising fresh produce at a market, yet the flippant words carried a strange, unsettling power, somehow quelling Liu Huanran’s rage.
Slowly, she lifted her head, meeting their confident gaze.
On an otherwise ordinary night, Pei Yujiang went to investigate the water plant again. Yu Zhiwan, returning home from the hospital, had just stepped into a secluded blind spot without surveillance when a sharp pain struck the back of her head, plunging her into unconsciousness.
When she awoke, her hands were bound.
An exquisitely crafted scented candle sat unlit on the table, accompanied by a pink lighter. Two wine glasses were placed beside an unopened bottle of red wine, its label suggesting it was expensive.
Unnoticed, time had slipped into midsummer. The area had been meticulously sprayed with insect repellent, leaving no trace of flies or mosquitoes. As Yu Zhiwan slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a familiar face.
A small lamp cast dim yellow light nearby, staining Liu Huanran’s pristine white wedding dress unevenly, as if dirtied, ruining its elegance. As an Alpha, she had the natural advantage of a tall, slender figure long legs, a narrow waist and as she adjusted the bedding, the smooth, pale skin of her back was exposed.
After shaking the pillow clean, Liu Huanran panted slightly as she finished preparing tonight’s “bridal bed.” She turned her head nonchalantly to adjust her strapless gown. Some Alphas were “flat-chested princesses,” and Liu Huanran was one of them. This Omega-style strapless dress kept slipping down, forcing her to tug it up repeatedly.
Upon closer inspection, however, one would notice her dress was a size too small tight and constricting, difficult to put on or take off, and far from flattering. Liu Huanran typically wore XL or L sizes, but this wedding dress would likely fit an M-sized Omega perfectly.
Yu Zhiwan stood at 165cm with a weight around 100 pounds, her proportions well-balanced, the epitome of an M-size figure. The Omega narrowed her eyes slightly, letting her gaze linger on Liu Huanran for just a moment before looking away.
She sat atop a pile of dry straw in the abandoned house, the musty, rotting scent invading her nostrils from some unknown source. Liu Huanran had somehow found this place locked doors, damp corners overgrown with moss and wild mushrooms. Yu Zhiwan’s wheelchair was nowhere to be seen, leaving her seated on the straw, her long, disheveled hair cascading down. Her delicate, porcelain-like face resembled that of a doll, her red lips parting as she delivered a blunt critique:
“You’re a complete and utter lunatic.”
Liu Huanran’s deliberately seductive panting ceased as her sharp eyes locked onto Yu Zhiwan’s. Their gazes clashed, and the Omega casually tugged at her slightly drooping neckline, half-revealing the contours of her collarbone.
Staring at Yu Zhiwan’s impeccably maintained, flawless skin so delicate it seemed one touch might bruise it, Liu Huanran felt her throat go dry even without the aid of arousal-inducing fragrances. A fire seemed to ignite in her lower abdomen.
She couldn’t help but imagine the feel of the Omega’s skin beneath her fingers softer than most women’s, like water, like silken tofu.
Countless shameful fantasies flooded her mind, yet Liu Huanran scoffed and took two steps forward, her gaze appraising like a hunter eyeing stubborn prey caught in a net. The more resistance she sensed, the more it excited her.
“So you can see after all. You’ve been lying to me, haven’t you, you little minx?” Liu Huanran eagerly tossed out nicknames, her words flowing freely as she pinched the cheek she’d long coveted. Her slender fingers then trailed downward toward the Omega’s neck. “They say the tougher a woman’s mouth is… the softer her.”
Yu Zhiwan sat on the ground, forcing Liu Huanran to crouch. The Omega leaned back to evade, but Liu Huanran yanked the rope binding her wrist. Rising slightly, Liu Huanran found the coarse rope bothersome and began unfastening it while trying to seize the Omega’s slender wrist.
But just as the rope loosened, a sudden numbness shot through Liu Huanran’s chest. In her daze, it felt as though a foot had slammed into her. The kick wasn’t particularly forceful, an Omega’s strength was no match for an Alpha’s but caught off guard, the impact left her stunned for several crucial seconds.
Before her consciousness faded, her vision blurred first. Hazily, Liu Huanran felt a needle’s sting pierce her neck. The swelling ache of the syringe pressing into her veins made her eyes widen, but her focus was already gone every nerve rapidly succumbing to paralysis.
Liu Huanran’s eyes were bloodshot, her arms feeling as if all strength had been drained from them. Her once nimble limbs now seemed stuffed with cotton, utterly useless. Just then, the Omega’s sweet voice whispered in her ear, sometimes near, sometimes far as if right beside her, yet also echoing from the depths of hell.
“Don’t worry, it’s just air. It won’t hurt much.”
Noticing Liu Huanran’s unfocused gaze, Yu Zhiwan considerately stopped the injection, tossing her aside like a rag. She picked up Liu Huanran’s phone, swiftly typed in a number to send a message, then blocked it and casually discarded the device.
“Is this the gift you wanted to give me?”
Yu Zhiwan seemed to notice the wedding dress straining against her body for the first time, wrinkling her delicate nose in an exaggerated yet adorable expression of disgust. Though Liu Huanran’s blurred vision couldn’t make it out clearly, the Omega’s tone sounded almost coquettish.
This was the first time the Omega had spoken to her in such a soft, sweet voice, but Liu Huanran was in no state to appreciate it.
Her stiff neck received a pat from Yu Zhiwan, who then wiped her hand fastidiously as if Liu Huanran were something filthy, before complaining in a tender voice:
“You’ve already worn this. It’s disgusting, I don’t want to wear it.”
“But since you gave me a gift, it wouldn’t be right not to return the favor…”
In her hazy consciousness, Liu Huanran heard the Omega murmuring to herself while slowly making her way toward the small spotlight. Her steps were unsteady, her movements sluggish, yet each footstep echoed clearly. Yu Zhiwan bent down, tapped the removable lampshade, and seemed pleased with the scorching temperature she tested with the syringe. Tilting her head, she turned back with a radiant smile.
Liu Huanran’s vision was too blurred to see clearly, but she heard Yu Zhiwan walking back toward her, her tone gentle and calm.
“So, before Pei Yujiao arrives, why don’t we have some fun first, Huanran?”
