- Too Late to Regret, She’s Now With the Big Boss
- Chapter 30 - Make Her Leave Rongcheng Before Dark
“Dad, that country bumpkin sister framed Big Brother and Yanyan. We can’t let her go,” Third Brother Ye’s furious voice interrupted Father Ye’s thoughts.
Before he could react, the fifth young master of the Song family erupted in rage.
“Ye Ruikang, is this how you usually wrong your own sister without even hearing her out? Your father just said she donated her bone marrow to you!”
“Tsk tsk tsk, who would’ve thought the third young master of the Ye family is such an ungrateful wretch!”
“And it’s not just him, didn’t you see how Mr. Ye and his wife just slandered their own daughter?”
Hearing the murmurs, Father Ye didn’t hesitate before slapping his son hard across the face.
Striking him repeatedly, he roared, “You unfilial brat! If we don’t let her go, what then? Do you want the Ye family to go bankrupt before you’re satisfied?”
Third Brother Ye clutched his face, staring at his father in disbelief. “Dad, didn’t you say we just had to treat Yan-” Slap! Slap!
He was stunned into silence, his mouth hanging open but no words coming out.
Mother Ye said pityingly, “Husband, don’t scare the child. It was Qianqian who framed Yanyan and Ruixuan, we shouldn’t let her leave.”
“Exactly,” chimed in Mother Ye’s best friend, Xie Yun, sharing the same indignation. “Qianqian resents Yanyan so much she harmed her own brother, and now she wants to bankrupt the Ye family. Her cruelty is appalling.”
Xie Yun, the deputy general manager of a Ye subsidiary, was also Ye Qingyan’s biological mother. She firmly believed her daughter had been framed by Ye Qianqian, after all, she had revealed the truth to her years ago.
“Find out who’s speaking and make sure she’s out of Rongcheng before dark,” Lu Jingchen’s deep, magnetic voice carried from the first-floor hall up to the second floor.
“Sir, should we break her legs before throwing her out?” Bai Lang’s gentle voice asked something utterly ruthless.
[LMAO! The villainess deserves a miserable death, she actually thinks the big boss and Bai Lang are cruel, not realizing Xie Yun is the real monster here.]
[Xie Yun is the female lead’s birth mother. She just wanted her daughter to live a better life, does she really deserve to have her legs broken?]
[Xie Yun didn’t just swap the babies, she also hired a master to steal the female antagonist’s fortune-blessed fate. Without that immense luck shielding her, the second female character would’ve died horribly!]
[OMG! It just keeps getting worse. No wonder the female lead always escapes danger unscathed.]
[So that’s it! I couldn’t figure out why the male lead still loved her even after she was caught cheating!]
Lu Jingchen shot Bai Lang a sharp glare, worried his brutality would scare his wife.
Just as he was about to explain to Ye Qianqian, a furious roar erupted from his chest: “Yes. Absolutely.”
Ye Qianqian, incensed by the barrage of bullet comments, blurted out in rage.
Bai Lang and Ding Fan, standing half a step behind, exchanged glances: Our seemingly delicate and meek madam has learned to be this ruthless after just three days of marriage to the boss!
Everyone present who knew Third Master Lu and his assistant Bai Lang was shocked, the gentle Bai Lang was even more terrifying than the Living King of Hell.
But what truly shattered their expectations was the fact that Third Master Lu’s fragile-looking wife was even more ruthless!
Instantly, the second-floor hallway fell silent except for the sound of nervous gulps and the cracking of knuckles.
Lu Jingchen lifted his gaze indifferently, and all those restless eyes hastily dropped back down.
This Living King of Hell was not to be trifled with, he could bankrupt their families in minutes. The guests who had dealings with the Ye family couldn’t help but resent them.
For the sake of some worthless adopted daughter (or sister), they were willing to let go of such a golden opportunity.
The whole family was insane!
They weren’t about to associate with lunatics.
In an instant, everyone tacitly scrambled to take their leave. Those of higher status than the Ye family didn’t even bother with formalities.
Ye Qingyan nestled in Song Yuntao’s arms, her eyes venomous as she glared at Ye Qianqian in Lu Jingchen’s embrace.
If it hadn’t been for the fact that only her bone marrow matched her third brother’s back then, her mother would never have brought Ye Qianqian home.
She had thought that by acting cute and pitiable in front of the Ye family, she could suppress Ye Qianqian forever, leaving her forever downtrodden.
But then Song Yuntao had suddenly gotten into a car accident. Unwilling to marry a cripple, she had gone abroad to study, only for Ye Qianqian to swoop in and take advantage.
In just three years, she had somehow convinced Yuntao to agree to marry her. And after just a few months of pampering, Ye Qianqian’s features had become lively, faintly reminiscent of Madam Ye’s elegance.
Both the Song and Ye families, young and old, had begun to regard her with newfound respect, singing her praises and emboldening her.
Furious, she had abandoned her foreign lover and rushed back. It had taken immense effort to convince Song Yuntao to switch brides.
She had urged Yuntao to hand Ye Qianqian over to Lu Zhenting, who was infatuated with her, thinking Ye Qianqian would never recover from the blow.
Yet, like an unkillable cockroach, Ye Qianqian had somehow climbed into the arms of the untouchable Third Master Lu, nearly driving her to collapse at the wedding.
What infuriated her even more was that Xiao Feng, that country bumpkin, had sworn to ruin Ye Qianqian’s reputation at her homecoming banquet.
She had planned to use this to crush Ye Qianqian once and for all. Overjoyed, she had gone to her eldest brother for help.
Who could have imagined that the one ruined would be her instead?
Ever since snatching the bride, everything had gone against her expectations. Now, her own mother had been dragged into it, her legs broken before being thrown out of Rongcheng!
What was she supposed to do next?!
Playing a long game with an unkillable cockroach was pointless, better to just have her killed outright.
But she knew it wasn’t that simple. Ye Qianqian wasn’t just rebellious; she had skills the Ye family knew nothing about.
No matter how much she and her brothers had tormented her in the past, Ye Qianqian had always escaped unscathed.
Her father and brothers had praised her for being kind-hearted, believing she had interceded for Ye Qianqian out of softness. Little did they know, no one wished for Ye Qianqian’s death more than she did.
Ye Qingyan surveyed the hall, which had been bustling just minutes ago but now held only the Ye family. She shot her mother a meaningful glance.
Xie Yun gave an almost imperceptible nod before tearfully pleading, “President Ye… Sister… Please, find a way to save me…”
“Yunyun, I want to help, but the order came from Third Master Lu…” Madam Ye’s eyes welled with tears as she looked at her best friend.
“Mom, Aunt Yun is your closest friend. Call Qianqian and ask her to persuade Third Master Lu,” Ye Qingyan urged, her eyes full of hope.
“Yanyan, I don’t dare call her. That wretched girl’s phone is answered by Third Master Lu now,” Madam Ye said helplessly, recalling the call she had made that morning.
“Vice President Xie, you should pack your things and leave Rongcheng immediately. Third Master Lu might spare your legs.”
“President Ye…”
“Listen, don’t say another word.” Father Ye’s expression gradually darkened, his eyes filled with an oppressive authority that made everyone present feel suffocated.
In the car.
Bai Lang flipped through his laptop and suddenly exclaimed, “No wonder Madam was so furious! Did you know Xie Yun is Ye Qingyan’s biological mother?”
Hearing this, Ye Qianqian shrank into Lu Jingchen’s embrace, her slender shoulders trembling slightly. “Yes, I knew.”
“No wonder you… Oh my god… Damn…”
