This Alpha Is So Devoted to His Wife - Chapter 72
It was a clear, sunny weekend, and a matte black and red luxury yacht was sailing across the ocean. A helicopter was parked on its top deck.
The wake left by the yacht was a deep, clear blue, with waves surging like beautiful, magnificent scales.
On the yacht’s deck, a figure sat in the oversized open-air swimming pool. Directly in front was an outdoor movie screen with integrated speakers, currently playing a comedy.
Duan Yeluo leaned against the pool edge, enjoying a slice of iced watermelon from the mini refreshment bar on the shore. He was engrossed in the movie when, in a moment of inattention, a figure leaped into the water from the side. The pool instantly erupted, splashing water unexpectedly onto his face, making him close his eyes.
“!”
He knew instantly who it was. Just as he was about to complain, he opened his eyes to a splash as Lu Xinghe rose from the water right in front of him.
Lu Xinghe pushed his wet hair back with his solid arm, revealing a clean, handsome face. His bare upper body was infused with a masculine, hormonal scent, his abs were taut, his chest was glistening, and droplets of water trickled down his body.
This sudden rush of intense, sexual tension was enough to make anyone feel dazed for a few seconds, especially when paired with his deep, direct gaze, even though his eyes were full of playful laughter.
Duan Yeluo sat back in his spot, his throat bobbing. His eyelashes fluttered, and he pursed his lips before looking up at the suddenly present Lu Xinghe. “…I was eating watermelon. You splashed me.”
He couldn’t resist lightly touching Lu Xinghe’s rock-hard abs, which were within reach. The hard feeling made him couldn’t help but curve his lips into a smile.
After just that one touch, he was suddenly lifted out of the water and onto the edge. It happened so fast that he hadn’t fully processed it yet, and he stared blankly at Lu Xinghe.
“You’ve been watching the movie this whole time and haven’t paid attention to me,” Lu Xinghe said, his hands propped on the sides of Duan Yeluo’s legs. His gaze swept over the rose tattoo on his chest. Under the sunlight, the tattoo’s color was blood-red, looking as if the color was bleeding up through the pale skin.
Duan Yeluo heard the hint of resentment in his tone and wanted to explain, but he glanced at the movie still playing—it was at the exact scene he most wanted to see—and he couldn’t help but watch for a few more moments.
Then he felt his waist being gripped.
He hesitated for two seconds, looked down, and before he could react, Lu Xinghe pulled him completely back into the water, eliciting a gasp of surprise.
It wasn’t a standard entry; he was plunging straight into the pool, but he was held tightly against Lu Xinghe’s chest. In the instant they went under, before he could even hold his breath, a hand cupped the back of his neck, and Lu Xinghe kissed him.
The four-foot-deep area was for recreation, while the six-foot-deep section was for swimming. The entire pool was lined with blue marble.
Lu Xinghe’s eyes were also a beautiful shade of blue.
In this moment, Duan Yeluo felt enveloped by the blue of the pool water, the marble, and the blue in Lu Xinghe’s deep, ocean-like eyes. He was tightly held at the waist, entirely resting against Lu Xinghe’s chest.
It was a collision of body temperature and emotion, as if they were contained in a vessel holding only the two of them.
Since entering the workforce and officially taking over the Galaxy Group, it had been a long, long time since he’d felt this way. At this very moment, he could fully immerse himself in Lu Xinghe’s eyes. His mind was completely empty, with nothing in it but Lu Xinghe.
Temporarily casting aside work and pressure, he let himself drown in the world Lu Xinghe created for him. Water flowed around them, embracing them both.
The kiss underwater wasn’t intense. The breath escaping their lips turned into small bubbles that floated above their heads.
They sank to the bottom of the pool.
Lu Xinghe held him a little tighter with one arm, then swam them back to the surface. As their bodies broke the water, he lifted Duan Yeluo, holding him face-to-face by the waist, then carried him by floating back to the side and setting him down. Seeing his eyes were moist from holding his breath, and he was coughing until his eyes were slightly red, Lu Xinghe affectionately wiped the water from his face and laughed softly.
“How can you still laugh?” Duan Yeluo coughed twice more, glaring at Lu Xinghe with annoyance. “You made me choke!”
Lu Xinghe used his hand to comb Duan Yeluo’s wet hair back, exposing his beautiful face. Seeing him a little angry, his expression was unexpectedly vibrant and lovely. “You sat there and ignored me for half an hour to watch a movie. I felt wronged.”
Duan Yeluo thought about it, touched his nose, which was uncomfortable from choking, and voluntarily wrapped his legs around Lu Xinghe’s waist and hugged him. “Alright then, what do you want to play?”
Perhaps because of the slight choking, his voice was a little muffled and subtly plaintive, making him sound incredibly precious.
Lu Xinghe’s lips curved upward upon hearing him. “Who would have thought that Mr. Duan would act like a baby when he’s on me.”
Duan Yeluo, feeling provoked again, couldn’t help but bite his shoulder. Though intending to show annoyance, a flash of slyness crossed his eyes, and he licked the spot he’d just bitten.
He distinctly felt Lu Xinghe’s body tense for a few seconds—the feeling of his muscles tightening—including the arms supporting his hips.
Lu Xinghe had only intended to tease Duan Yeluo, but unexpectedly, he was the one who was teased. The spot on his shoulder that had been bitten was now licked, like a kitten, which was truly… a blatant provocation.
“Baby, are you provoking me?”
Duan Yeluo lifted his head, resting his arms on Lu Xinghe’s shoulders. He straightened up, met Lu Xinghe’s deep, cryptic gaze, and pretended to be innocent as he cupped his face. “When a baby bites, it doesn’t hurt, right?”
Lu Xinghe smiled lightly, his eyes filled with helpless yet doting affection. The palm supporting his hip gave a warning pat.
It was quite a crisp sound.
“A baby’s bite doesn’t hurt, but an uncooperative one…”
Predictably, the guy on him began to retaliate, biting and licking his ears and then his neck. In short, it was a double dose of payback to stimulate him.
Naturally, Lu Xinghe was the one who surrendered first. It would have been difficult to handle otherwise.
…
As noon approached and the sun was at its hottest, they couldn’t stay on the deck. The two walked back to the main cabin. The entire yacht had a minimalist-luxury interior of piano black and moonlight white, a very modern design that made the space feel spacious.
The yacht was huge; the living room and dining room could easily accommodate a whole extended family.
A single voyage’s fuel cost was enough to buy two supercars, making it an extreme extravagance for just two people.
Before lunch, they simply put on bathrobes and walked towards the billiard room.
Billiards was a casual pastime. For them, playing was less about winning or losing and more about passing the time.
The room was brightly lit. The crystal chandelier illuminated every corner, and even the balcony lights were on, just in case someone got upset over an unlit room.
They stood at the pool table, rubbing chalk onto the tips of their cues.
“What shall we play?”
“Snooker.”
“Good.”
Lu Xinghe held his cue, his eyes on Duan Yeluo opposite him, who was seriously applying the chalk.
He was wearing a loose bathrobe that exposed his sharp shoulders. The collar was slightly open, giving a glimpse of the exquisite rose tattoo on his chest. Even more striking, when he walked up to the table, bent over, and rested the cue on the cloth, the neckline of the bathrobe opened, offering a full view of the large rose tattoo.
Under the light, the graceful, jade-like hands stroking the cue and the movement of his fingertips as he aimed at a red ball were exceptionally beautiful to watch.
More impactful was the serious and detached expression on his face. The clash between this noble, cool demeanor and the rose tattoo on his chest created a tension between purity and sexuality. What would be an ordinary action for anyone else—his slight bend at the waist—was slowed down and magnified in Lu Xinghe’s eyes.
Perhaps this is what people mean by “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
But his lover truly was a beauty.
Duan Yeluo easily potted a ball. He looked up, meeting Lu Xinghe’s gaze as he leaned on his cue. Duan Yeluo stood up with his cue and moved to a different spot. “Why are you staring at me? It’s your turn to shoot.”
Lu Xinghe curved his lips, watching his movements and anticipating his next move. Then he bent down and decisively struck another ball, potting it.
Duan Yeluo stopped short, realizing his plan had been intercepted by Lu Xinghe. His eyebrows raised slightly, a clear challenge. Very well.
Towards the end of the game, only the final red ball and the colored balls remained. Lu Xinghe was currently ahead on points.
Duan Yeluo unhurriedly chalked the tip of his cue again, found his position, bent down, and focused entirely on the final nine-point colored ball. If he potted this, he would win.
“Baby, you should move over just a little bit.”
Just as he was about to strike, a low voice dropped from above, and a broad chest pressed against his back. Lu Xinghe’s hand moved the hand holding the cue about an inch. To be fair, this position truly was better, increasing his chances of hitting the target.
Without overthinking, he took the shot.
In the pocket!
Applause sounded in his ear.
“Duan Yeluo, you won.”
He straightened up and looked at Lu Xinghe, who was smiling so brightly and clapping for him, having just offered him guidance. Duan Yeluo smiled down. “You let me win.”
“That’s just me praising myself for my good taste,” Lu Xinghe said. He walked over to Duan Yeluo, kissed him as a compliment, then took the cue from his hand and set it aside, ready to go for lunch.
Duan Yeluo smiled but didn’t say anything. He walked over to the sink to wash his hands, and predictably, the big guy behind him moved closer. He had some sort of habit where he always insisted on washing hands with him.
He’d been like this since they were kids.
Lu Xinghe wrapped his arms around Duan Yeluo’s slender waist and rested his chin on his shoulder, rubbing it against the foam on Duan Yeluo’s hands. “How about I cook lunch for you?”
“What have you learned to cook?” Duan Yeluo wiped the foam onto Lu Xinghe’s palms.
Lu Xinghe gripped Duan Yeluo’s foamy hands, gently rubbing even the spaces between his fingers, looking down at him. “I’ll make you anything you want to eat.”
“Really?” Duan Yeluo laughed. “You’re that capable now?”
“I want you to praise me.”
“When have I not praised you?”
“I want you to praise everything about me that you think of.”
Duan Yeluo finished washing his hands. Before he could straighten up, the hand next to him reached out to help dry his hands. He looked up to see Lu Xinghe intently drying his hands, his eyes full of affection. “It’s truly wonderful to be loved by you.”
Lu Xinghe tossed the paper towel into the nearby trash can, his lips curving upward. “Being with you is the most satisfying achievement I’ve made in this life.”
Duan Yeluo saw Lu Xinghe’s back was turned, and intending to startle him, he jumped right onto his back.
His butt was immediately supported by Lu Xinghe’s palms.
He hadn’t been startled at all.
The moment Lu Xinghe felt the hug on his back, he instinctively reached out to support him. Then, with Duan Yeluo on his back, he walked out of the billiard room, his lips curved. “You’re such a goofball.”
This was met with a playful chokehold.
