They Are Archenemies, But They Have A Child - Chapter 100
Chapter 100: A Happy Family
Yún Chuān closed his eyes.
But the expected pain did not come. A flash of white light abruptly fended off the bolts of lightning. The sword in mid-air was violently forced back several miles by this sudden external force.
The Heavenly Emperor’s voice rang out: “Useless. If you had succeeded to the throne back then, how could your cultivation be so vulnerable?”
Yún Chuān suddenly looked up at his Father God, who was standing in front of him.
Huá Yáng was also indignant. “Uncle God, are you going to stop me today too?”
The Heavenly Emperor ignored Huá Yáng, still staring at his son: “What are you waiting for? Why aren’t you going to complete the task I assigned you?”
Yún Chuān wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, looking at the Heavenly Emperor with a complex expression. “Yes, Father God.”
After Yún Chuān left, the Heavenly Emperor finally looked back at Huá Yáng. He scrutinized this fully grown junior. “Huá Yáng, you have overstepped.”
Huá Yáng withdrew his sword and laughed. “Uncle God designed this so meticulously, aren’t you afraid I might actually succeed?”
The Heavenly Emperor’s expression was unchanged. “Since I dared to do this, there is no possibility of failure.”
Huá Yáng: “Uncle God, I am the one who truly understands you. I don’t understand why you are stopping me. You were the one who taught me that order must not be broken, or everything will descend into nothingness. But why do you repeatedly show mercy to Yún Chuān?”
The Heavenly Emperor’s gaze was calm. “My son’s fate is for me to decide. You are not qualified to interfere.”
“Ha—” Huá Yáng laughed out loud.
“Back then, just because I fell in love with a mortal woman, you sent me to the mortal realm for tribulation. My father’s attempts to stop you did not change your mind. You said that only by experiencing it myself would I understand your words. I did understand. I think you were absolutely right. Once order collapses, the advantages our God Clan accumulated over generations will be destroyed. So, shouldn’t Yún Chuān die?”
Heavenly Emperor: “Huá Yáng, your understanding is still not thorough enough.”
With that, the Heavenly Emperor gripped the Purple Flame Staff and lightly waved it. Huá Yáng immediately lost all strength and fell to the ground.
“W-why?”
The Heavenly Emperor walked over, looking down at Huá Yáng with disdain. “I despise losing control, Huá Yáng. This place doesn’t need you. You should sleep now. Everything will be fine when you wake up.”
Huá Yáng’s eyes were filled with resentment and confusion, but eventually, he closed them completely and lost consciousness.
…
Mount You Su
The sun had moved to the west, reaching the critical point where the day’s sunlight began to wane. The tightly closed door of the Separation Palace finally opened.
Yun Qingwu and Leng Licí emerged hand-in-hand, walking toward the small courtyard where Yun Qingwu used to live.
The demons on the grounds maintained their positions, but their peripheral vision was entirely focused on the two figures’ clasped hands.
Hóng Suí sat under a tree, calculating with an abacus that clicked and clacked, though her mind was far from the beads.
These two made up again?
Is this what mortals call ‘husband and wife make up in bed’? Then this Heavenly Realm Lord Prime has truly unconventional taste. An ordinary person couldn’t stomach the Exalted One’s brutal habit of constantly imprisoning and abducting people.
Dān Mù sat on a tree, staring at Yun Qingwu with a smug expression.
There’s nothing the Exalted One wants that he can’t get. Look, no matter how much fuss he made, wasn’t he still obedient after being slept with!
The two at the center of attention disregarded these scrutinizing gazes.
Yun Qingwu pushed open the courtyard gate. The place was exactly as he had left it. He walked familiarly to the back kitchen. “What do you want to eat? I’ll cook for you. After this meal, I have to go back, or I worry Grandfather God will grow suspicious.”
Leng Licí gripped his hand tighter and said in a low voice, “I’m going to the Heavenly Realm with you.”
Yun Qingwu immediately vetoed it. “Absolutely not. The outcome is uncertain this time, and I don’t want to put you in danger.”
Leng Licí withdrew his hand, his chin slightly raised. “This Lord isn’t doing it for you. If that old Heavenly Emperor dares to make any rash moves, I might be able to fight him with you. I want his inner core.”
Yun Qingwu was momentarily speechless, unable to tell how serious Leng Licí was. “Are you serious?”
“Or what?” Leng Licí glanced at Yun Qingwu, his tone ambiguous. “What? Are you planning to do something this Lord cannot see?”
Yun Qingwu: “You’re thinking of taking the Heavenly Emperor’s inner core. What could I possibly be doing that you can’t see?”
Leng Licí withdrew his gaze. “Then it’s settled.”
Yun Qingwu sighed softly, compromising. “Then you need to change your identity and keep a low profile, alright?”
Leng Licí frowned slightly. “Why should this Lord change his identity? What can they do to me?”
“Just treat it as a deal between us.” Yun Qingwu leaned in and whispered, “If you listen to me this time, I will let you have your way in bed once. Deal?”
Leng Licí stared at Yun Qingwu. His eyes shifted back and forth, finally settling into calmness. He looked away, reluctantly agreeing, “Deal.”
“Daddy! A-dàd!”
A clear voice accompanied by dēng dēng dēng footsteps rushed into the courtyard.
The two turned to look. They saw Little Dāo, who had grown a head taller. She looked approximately four years old.
Yun Qingwu squatted down, opening his arms to catch Little Dāo. “Our Little Dāo has grown up again.”
“Daddy, you didn’t even remember Little Dāo. Daddy is so bad!” Little Dāo poked Yun Qingwu’s shoulder angrily.
Yun Qingwu played along with a few “oohs” and “aahs.” “Daddy was wrong. Daddy won’t forget Little Dāo again.”
Little Dāo’s eyes instantly welled up. She immediately changed her face to accuse him, “Then Daddy must uphold justice for Little Dāo.”
Yun Qingwu was amused. “Justice for what? Tell me.”
Little Dāo glanced at Leng Licí, feeling a little afraid, but the grievance in her heart was too much. She immediately braced herself, pointing her index finger at Leng Licí: “A-dàd hasn’t looked after me these days. He threw me to Teacher Lǐ. Little Dāo has been reading all day long. Little Dāo is tired.”
Yun Qingwu listened to Little Dāo’s continuous stream of complaints, feeling a little unaccustomed to it. The Little Dāo in his mind was still at the stage where she could barely speak clearly.
However, the keyword “Teacher Lǐ” still helped him grasp the main point. He looked at Leng Licí. “A-Cí, studying is fine, but can we change teachers?”
Leng Licí was puzzled. “Why?”
Yun Qingwu relayed what he had seen: “Teacher Lǐ’s method of teaching is not conducive to a child’s mental and physical health.”
Leng Licí dismissed it. He picked up Little Dāo like a kitten, staring at her. “If she doesn’t even have this much fortitude, how can she survive?”
Little Dāo was suspended in mid-air, kicking her little feet, unhappy. “Daddy, you’ve missed the point!”
Yun Qingwu scrutinized Little Dāo. “You don’t look scared. You truly are our daughter; you have guts!”
Yun Qingwu brought Little Dāo back and put her on the ground. He patted her shoulder. “Since that’s the case, then you should study diligently with Teacher Lǐ. Otherwise, your knowledge base won’t keep up with your age, and you’ll easily look like a fool.”
Little Dāo: “…”
Little Dāo looked at her two stubborn daddies, her small face flushed red. Finally, she put her hands on her hips. “A fool’s daddy is an even bigger fool! Daddy and A-dàd are both big fools!”
Seeing Little Dāo’s aggressive protest.
Leng Licí was completely unmoved, saying coldly, “It seems you don’t have enough classes.”
Yun Qingwu looked at Little Dāo’s pouting mouth, and his heart softened. He reached out and pinched Little Dāo’s puffed-up cheeks. “Daddy and A-dàd don’t want to be fools, so Little Dāo needs to work hard and study diligently. That way, Little Dāo will become a clever little girl.”
Little Dāo pulled Yun Qingwu’s hand away, lamenting, “Daddy and A-dàd are in cahoots! They only bully Little Dāo!”
Yun Qingwu wanted to tease her a little more, but a small demon arrived outside the courtyard. “Exalted One, someone named Yún Chuān wishes to see you.”
Leng Licí and Yun Qingwu exchanged glances. Leng Licí looked at the small demon. “Let him in.”
The small demon retreated. Shortly after, Yún Chuān arrived at the small courtyard.
Little Dāo ran toward him immediately. “Grandfather!”
Yún Chuān was stunned for a moment looking at Little Dāo. He quickly caught her and smiled. “Little Dāo still remembers me.”
As he spoke, his gaze drifted slightly, finding it difficult to focus on his two sons. “This Little Dāo is growing quite fast, huh.”
Yun Qingwu felt a bit shy, but he immediately noticed Yún Chuān’s pale complexion. His expression tightened. “Father God, are you injured?”
Leng Licí heard this and finally focused his attention on Yún Chuān.
Yún Chuān waved his hand. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry.”
Leng Licí walked up, grabbed Yún Chuān’s wrist without a word, and after a moment, released it, scoffing, “Indeed, nothing. Just missing half a life.”
Yún Chuān looked at Leng Licí, feeling flattered. “Little Cí, are you worried about me?”
Leng Licí gave Yún Chuān a side-eye. “This Lord is worried about a dog.”
Yún Chuān mimicked a dog’s bark twice. “Then the dog is quite happy.”
Little Dāo imitated him, barking twice as well.
Leng Licí shot Little Dāo a warning glance. Little Dāo gave him a cheeky look in return.
Yun Qingwu and Yún Chuān were amused and laughed out loud.
After the joking, Yun Qingwu grew serious. “Who was the person who injured you?”
Yún Chuān: “It was the Black Emperor.”
Yun Qingwu was puzzled. They belonged to different regions and didn’t interact much normally. “Why…?”
Yún Chuān shook his head. “The reasons are hard to explain. I came here on Father God’s orders to take you back to the Heavenly Realm.”
Yun Qingwu nodded. “A-Cí and I were planning to leave for the Heavenly Realm today anyway.”
Yún Chuān looked at Leng Licí, slightly hesitant. “Little Cí, you going to the Heavenly Realm now…”
Leng Licí frowned slightly. Yun Qingwu spoke first. “Father God, don’t worry. A-Cí will conceal his identity.”
Yún Chuān looked at the two of them for a while and no longer tried to dissuade them. He nodded. “Very well.”
Yun Qingwu briefly explained the plan to Yún Chuān. “I will discuss it with the Spring God beforehand.”
Although Yún Chuān still had reservations, he agreed. “Good. Your father will cooperate with you.”
With that, Yún Chuān looked at Leng Licí again. “Little Cí, can I… can I go see your mother?”
Since that day, this was the first time he had set foot on Mount You Su again. The past memories were vivid, giving him a sense of change and loss.
Leng Licí turned his back. “Do as you please.”
While waiting for Yún Chuān, Yun Qingwu prepared a table of dishes, serving as the last meal for the family of three before their departure.
Little Dāo’s studying had been remarkably effective during this time. Yun Qingwu looked at his daughter, who could now skillfully use chopsticks, with a hint of relief. “A-Cí, it was quite wise of you to hand Little Dāo over to Teacher Lǐ these past few days. Although Teacher Lǐ’s emotional control is unsatisfactory, his teaching quality is remarkable.”
Leng Licí looked arrogant, raising an eyebrow. “Naturally. Early learning means early independence.”
“Hmph! What’s wise? A-dàd was clearly just taking out his anger on me! It’s all your fault for not coming back, Daddy.” Little Dāo stabbed her chopsticks into her rice bowl and grumbled.
Leng Licí shot her a cold glance. Little Dāo’s already small voice immediately fell silent, and she concentrated on eating.
Yun Qingwu smiled, adding a piece of spare rib to Little Dāo’s bowl. “If the way to vent anger is to make you read more, it’s not entirely unacceptable. After all, whether your A-dàd and I are big fools depends on you.”
Little Dāo munched on the spare rib, finishing it cleanly. “You’re both just bullying children because they have no rights.”
Yun Qingwu laughed. “You even know what ‘rights’ are?”
Little Dāo quickly finished the food in her bowl, kicked her little legs, and got off the ground. “I don’t want to talk to you two anymore. The excess has to go! Goodbye!”
With that, Little Dāo quickly ran out of the small courtyard.
