- Chapter 46 - Life’s So Hard—Accidentally Fell Into the Wolf’s Den, Going Home to Complain Tomorrow!
Qin Yan carried Xia Mingtang back to the bedroom and placed her on the bed.
The little fox, who had just been disciplined, was now extremely obedient—no crying, no yelling, no cursing—just silently burying her head into the pillow.
Her butt was injured, so she could only lie on her stomach. Her petite body, wrapped in cotton pajamas, looked like a little sprawled bear.
Qin Yan’s heart softened at the sight; most of her anger had dissipated.
She went to the bathroom to wash her hands, then returned with a basin, removing the little fox’s pants.
Xia Mingtang felt a sudden chill on her butt and instinctively shrank toward the head of the bed.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t hit me anymore?” Her voice trembled with a hint of tears.
The next moment, the sore area was covered with a warm, damp towel, and Xia Mingtang couldn’t help but gasp.
“Good girl, no more hitting. I’ll apply medicine for you.” Qin Yan used the towel to gently clean the marks on her butt, leaving no trace behind, not even in the creases.
Xia Mingtang’s legs trembled slightly. She didn’t really want anyone touching her poor little butt at this moment. But considering Qin Yan’s somewhat unstable mood, she feared that a wrong move might trigger another round of punishment.
So she buried her head even deeper in the pillow, silently shedding tears.
Her life was so hard—she’d accidentally fallen into a wolf’s den, and tomorrow she’d go home to complain!
Qin Yan had no idea about the rich inner thoughts of the person on the bed.
She took out the ointment prepared earlier, squeezed some onto her hand, and applied it in circular motions around the reddened center.
The cooling ointment quickly carried a warming sensation from her calloused palm, and Xia Mingtang felt the dull pain gradually fade, replaced by another strange yet familiar feeling.
“Mm” faint, broken sounds escaped from her mouth buried in the pillow.
Fearing she might suffocate herself in the pillow, Qin Yan reached out to move some hair behind her ears, adjusting her head slightly.
Xia Mingtang’s reaction was:
“You just touched there, and now you’re touching my hair too!” she cried pitifully.
“It’s the other hand,” Qin Yan explained, proving she wasn’t lying, using one hand for her head and the other for the ointment.
Seeing the little fox still pursing her lips in silence, she chuckled, “I’m touching you all over, and you still complain.”
Of course she did.
Xia Mingtang silently thought: who’s as careless as you, touching the bottom and then the top?
The ointment application didn’t take long. Qin Yan looked at the two glistening little buttocks carefully coated with ointment and gave careful instructions:
“Tonight, just sleep on your stomach. Don’t press on the wound; it should reduce swelling by tomorrow.”
Though she now knew Qin Yan was gentle and caring, she didn’t forget who caused the injury in the first place!
Xia Mingtang lay on the bed, closing her eyes, refusing to interact. Qin Yan didn’t mind, put away the ointment, and returned to the bathroom with the basin.
A few minutes later, she returned.
The little fox on the bed was still obediently lying prone, occasionally glaring at the blanket under her legs.
Her legs were straight and beautifully shaped, calves gleaming pale. Qin Yan had glanced a few times, feeling tempted, but decided against it—for now.
She found a thin quilt and covered the little fox’s exposed legs.
The two lay close, finally enjoying a rare peaceful sleep.
The next morning, Xia Mingtang woke early, feeling a cool breeze against her butt.
Memories of the previous night immediately flooded her mind, and her small face almost turned into a rainbow of colors from shock and embarrassment.
She reached back to touch her butt, now no longer painful, the ointment fully absorbed.
Her fear subsided, but the trauma inflicted on her tender psyche was indelible.
She glanced at Qin Yan, still sound asleep, and nearly ground her small teeth in frustration.
If she remembered correctly, this guy had hit her thirteen times the previous night—thirteen!
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Retreating only made her feel cheated.
After a deep breath, she pulled back the blanket and saw Qin Yan’s smooth, silky buttocks wrapped in her silk pajamas.
She silently moved toward the foot of the bed, took a deep breath, and slapped them once—pretty satisfying.
The sound wasn’t loud through the fabric, so she pulled off Qin Yan’s pants and slapped twice more, producing crisp cracks in the air.
She had no real strength, but even so, her marks left impressions on the fair skin.
While she was proud of her “masterpiece,” Qin Yan, originally asleep, had opened her eyes.
Their eyes met, and Xia Mingtang instantly switched from arrogance to guilt, like a child caught doing something wrong.
“You… you’re awake?”
Qin Yan propped herself up, gently rubbing the little fox’s bare butt, “Does it hurt?”
Xia Mingtang bit her lip, refusing to answer.
From her expression, Qin Yan already knew.
“Good, then let’s move a bit.”
She picked Xia Mingtang up onto her lap, straddling her legs, soft against soft.
Early in the morning, Xia Mingtang was already being fussed over in a strange position, successfully sacrificing the bedsheets.
She let Qin Yan help clean up and then remembered something important.
That guy had hit her thirteen times, and she only retaliated three. So unfair!
She had to complain—she must go home to tell Grandma!
She refused Qin Yan’s offer to drive her to work, claiming she wanted to rest at home.
Once she saw the Rolls-Royce leave the villa, she called the driver to bring the small car parked at the KTV garage.
Xia Huaying didn’t expect her granddaughter to return home on the third day after the wedding, feeling relieved inside.
But why was she alone?
“Tangtang, Xiao Yan didn’t come with you?”
Why would she come? I’m here to complain about her today.
“Grandma,” Xia Mingtang threw herself into Xia Huaying’s arms, looking pitiful, though not a single tear fell.
“I missed you so much. I wasn’t used to being without you these days.”
Xia Huaying patted her granddaughter’s shoulders helplessly. “You’re a grown girl now; you can’t always be with me. Weren’t you used to living in Yun Town? Besides, now you have Xiao Yan with you.”
Xia Mingtang pouted in frustration. “Please don’t talk about Qin Yan, she… she hit me!”
“She hit you?” Xia Huaying feigned shock. “You’ve been married only two days, and she hit you? That’s serious. Where are the injuries? Let Grandma see.”
Xia Mingtang was stumped. Her butt had been treated and was fully healed. Even if it weren’t, she couldn’t reveal it so easily.
“The wound is healed now, but she did hit me. Grandma, you have to stand up for me!”
“Already healed? So fast?” Xia Huaying, seeing her pout as if about to cry, quickly asked, “Where did she hit you?”
“…Butt,” Xia Mingtang muttered between her lips, looking utterly pitiful.
Xia Huaying tried not to laugh and gave her granddaughter a playful pat. “Does it hurt?”
Xia Mingtang jumped three feet high, like a fox stepping on its tail. “Grandma, why are you hitting me too?”
Xia Huaying laughed and shook her head. “See, no harm done. Since you’re home, invite Xiao Yan over tonight and we’ll have a family gathering.”
As if on cue, Qin Yan entered the Xia family mansion with several attendants.
She instructed them to put down the gifts and politely greeted Xia Huaying. “Hello, Grandma.”
Before visiting, she had done thorough research on Xia Huaying’s likes—from antiques and calligraphy to flowers and tea—bringing gifts that were both valuable and thoughtful.
Xia Huaying glanced at them and immediately rated Qin Yan even higher—much more reliable than her granddaughter, who returned home empty-handed.
She took Qin Yan’s hand, affectionately saying, “I was just telling Tangtang to call you over. Why did you come separately?”
Qin Yan glanced at Xia Mingtang, pouting like a puffed-up pufferfish, then turned to Xia Huaying with courtesy and grace.
“Tangtang missed you so much, she came ahead. I had more things, so I arrived a little late.”
“Not late at all. Xiao Yan is thoughtful,” Xia Huaying nodded in approval.
“If you’re not busy, stay for dinner tonight,” she added.
“Not busy, I’ll follow Grandma’s arrangement,” Qin Yan responded politely, taking Xia Mingtang’s hand in a very affectionate gesture.
Xia Huaying teased, “Oh, Tangtang said you bullied her?”
Xia Mingtang was shocked, looking at her relative who had just betrayed her. Not supposed to be our secret!
Qin Yan seemed unsurprised. She patted Xia Mingtang’s head, looking gentle and indulgent.
Looking at Xia Huaying, she respectfully said, “I used an improper method with Tangtang and upset her. I’ll be more careful in the future.”
It was clear who was right. Xia Huaying patted Qin Yan’s hand kindly.
“Don’t spoil her too much; you’re older. This girl is usually arrogant. If she misbehaves, she should be taught a lesson.”
Xia Mingtang didn’t expect her long-time relative to side with Qin Yan. Not only that, she even advised Qin Yan to discipline her!
The big wolf pretended to be gentle, now showing a polite and obedient demeanor.
“Don’t worry, I’ll watch Tangtang and won’t let her suffer,” Qin Yan assured.
The three had dinner together. Xia Huaying and Qin Yan chatted as if they were old friends, while Xia Mingtang alone sulked.
“Oh, by the way,” Qin Yan suddenly remembered when talking about managing funds and took out a black card.
“I opened an account in Tangtang’s name today. She can use this card for her daily expenses.”
Hearing “money,” Xia Mingtang instantly perked up.
She grabbed the card and proudly asked, “How much is the limit?”
“As long as you don’t buy an aircraft carrier, it should be enough,” Qin Yan replied, calm and gentle.
Finally, Xia Mingtang was happy.
