- Chapter 123 - Deliberately Using Extreme or Even Cruel Methods to Push Someone Completely Out of Control
The smile on Qin Yan’s face was far too obvious, and Xia Mingtang felt as if her intelligence were being looked down upon. She was slightly annoyed.
She decided that for the next hour, she would not pay any attention to the person mocking her.
Her one-sided cold war lasted forty-five minutes and ended when Qin Yan, fresh from her bath, got into bed and wrapped her in her arms.
Behind her was a soft warmth, and in her nose, the faint scent of calendula.
Xia Mingtang glanced at the clock and reminded herself internally to be a person who keeps her word and stands firm.
Even though she hadn’t voiced her decision to start a cold war… a thought kept in one’s heart still counts.
Xia Mingtang lay on her side, observing her breath and heartbeat, warning herself to be resolute.
Yet the person behind her was far from obedient. If it were only a matter of holding her, it would be fine.
But they had to breathe close to her neck, their slender fingers gliding along her spine as if playing the piano…
“What are you doing?” Xia Mingtang broke her silence at the ticklish sensation and grabbed the mischievous hand.
“You,” Qin Yan said, a single word, nibbling on her slightly reddened earlobe.
Xia Mingtang: ?
It took her three seconds to realize what was happening—the person was speaking lewdly.
Though young, her mind was full of all sorts of chaotic thoughts.
Xia Mingtang didn’t resist, but…
She flipped over, pinning Qin Yan beneath her, one hand gripping a thin shoulder, her voice commanding:
“Do you think you can handle me with that sickly little body of yours? Remember who saved you from that villain today.
“If you want to… handle me, do it properly. Don’t pass out like last night.”
When her mind was clear, Xia Mingtang’s words flowed like a machine gun, rapid and sharp.
She truly meant what she said, but her concern was genuine as well.
Ever since Qin Yan returned home from the hospital, they’d only had that one previous encounter, far less intense than before.
Now, after being tormented by that villainous Song Mo, she didn’t look like someone capable of such exertion.
Pinned beneath Xia Mingtang, Qin Yan’s mind raced through the nights she hadn’t been there.
She thought: That useless thing isn’t me; I’m different.
Wanting to prove her worth, she looked up and met the gaze of her little fox, full of care.
An idea sparked in her mind. She grabbed the hand pressing on her shoulder, pulling it closer, her voice teasing and alluring:
“Then… you can handle me too.”
Xia Mingtang: !
This person really had a vulgar way of speaking.
She stared into those sparkling, wet eyes and, almost instinctively, agreed to the proposition.
Qin Yan naturally possessed a gentle, classical beauty.
Now lying in bed, her raven hair spread across the pillow, deep-sea-blue silk pajamas on, she exuded a fusion of ancient and modern beauty.
When someone like her toned down her aggressiveness and looked at another person softly, it was hard not to be captivated.
Xia Mingtang had only recently realized that she was a total “face person,” someone easily swayed by beauty, albeit with high standards.
If not for this face, it would be hard to explain why she repeatedly tolerated Qin Yan’s over-the-top behaviors.
It definitely wasn’t because she couldn’t overpower her!
This thought flashed briefly, but soon, the gentle kiss slid from the soft eyebrows down to the chin.
Xia Mingtang cherished Qin Yan’s current condition so much that even her kisses were careful.
Yet this overly gentle lingering seemed to ignite a fire within Qin Yan.
Several times, she almost reversed roles, wanting to release the longing she’d accumulated over the days.
She could do so effortlessly if she wanted.
But she held back.
In the past, in bed, she had seen her beloved in all kinds of states: crying, dazed, overtaken by desire…
But never in this way—so careful, so precious.
It was a new and heart-fluttering sensation.
Qin Yan opened her eyes wide, unable to stop looking.
“Close your eyes.”
Xia Mingtang covered her eyes with one hand, inwardly thinking: Who opens their eyes so wide while lying down, like a supervisor, putting pressure on me?
The soft, flexible warmth pressed on her eyelids. Qin Yan couldn’t see her lover’s face and was naturally dissatisfied.
Yet she didn’t want to ruin the moment, so she grabbed one of Xia Mingtang’s hands, softly murmuring, “Here…”
Xia Mingtang had planned for a cozy, gentle night, but Qin Yan’s eagerness surprised her.
Following her guidance, she gradually pleased her, leaving no energy to cover her eyes again.
Tonight, Qin Yan was more passionate than ever.
Though Xia Mingtang seemed to be in control, she was the one being led.
At this moment, she deeply realized that being on top was physically exhausting as well.
As a result, she fainted sooner than she expected, even before her supposedly “sickly” lover.
Qin Yan closed her eyes, rested for half a minute, and then pulled the sleepy person lying on her stomach into her embrace.
Though their bodies still resonated, her heart felt like it had been soaked in warm water—soft and tender.
Before, she had always felt a giant void inside her, needing constant filling.
Xia Mingtang was the perfect medicine for that void.
Thus, in past encounters, she had always been demanding, deliberately using extreme, even cruel methods to push Xia Mingtang to the brink.
She wanted that medicine to be only hers, even if only for a moment, bringing immense pleasure and peace.
She never thought such peace could also be obtained in another, gentler way.
Qin Yan caressed the soft hair of the person in her arms, greedily breathing in the sweet scent.
Yet her mind briefly flashed back to the ridiculous words Song Mo had said not long ago:
[You think that without me, you can just live happily with your wife?]
[Admit it, she doesn’t love you, she loves the teenage version of herself.]
[You can’t control your emotions; sooner or later, you’ll revert.]
…
Song Mo had said those things to deliberately provoke Qin Yan.
She succeeded—she got a good beating.
But it wasn’t entirely successful. After hitting her, Qin Yan opened the door and was immediately caught by someone outside, and astonishingly, calmed down instantly.
Qin Yan pulled the person in her arms tighter, taking the bedside phone in her other hand.
In the dark, the phone’s screen glowed faintly, reflecting off her endless, deep eyes.
I will never let anyone destroy the relationship between me and Tangtang.
When Xia Mingtang woke, the room was gleaming in the summer morning light, and one side of the bed was empty.
She slipped into her slippers, went down, and wandered through the room—seeing no one.
She quickly washed up and “strolled” toward the west guest room.
Of course, she wasn’t trying to coincidentally run into anyone; she just thought that early morning was good for moving around—a bit of exercise.
It was still before eight a.m., and no one was guarding the guest room door.
Xia Mingtang was puzzled. She opened the door.
Not only was Qin Yan absent, but Song Mo was nowhere to be seen either.
Strange—where had everyone gone?
She wandered around the villa like a headless chicken, forgetting the human invention known as the phone.
Though the villa was large, Qin Yan’s usual whereabouts weren’t hidden.
Soon, Xia Mingtang found her at the dining table.
“Oh, there you are. And that woman?” Xia Mingtang asked, inexplicably relieved.
Qin Yan pulled Xia Mingtang to sit and answered her question.
“Keeping someone locked in the villa long-term isn’t a solution; we also have to feed her.
“So I had her sent on an early flight back to the U.S., and also sent a report to the authorities at her registered residence. She should have plenty to occupy her for now.”
Xia Mingtang sat, eyes scanning the various breakfast dishes.
“Eh, you let her go that easily? You’re too kind.”
She sighed, thinking that it was good to get rid of that trouble. She should have let Awen deal with her last night.
“Enough about her. Let’s have breakfast.”
Qin Yan gently fed Xia Mingtang her favorite small cake, smiling with satisfaction as she bit down.
And so, Song Mo’s matter came to a close.
As for how she had arranged to have her beaten, locked in a small dark room, and watched 3D horror films for two days, there was no need to tell Tangtang.
In her wife’s eyes, she was indeed this kind-hearted.
