The World-Destroying Goddess Brings the Child to My Door and Demands Responsibility - Chapter 9
After learning all of this, Lu Fengmian finally breathed a slight sigh of relief. Still, she felt it would be best to wait for the system to ask its superiors first, leaving things as they were for now.
“One last question, will players entering this world really be in no danger?” Lu Fengmian asked, still feeling uneasy.
“There really won’t be any danger, Mianmian, please rest assured. Neither the rules of the world nor I will allow them to come to harm. They can come and go freely without restrictions, playing their game as they wish. Even if they encounter people of this world, they won’t know those are real human beings,” Qing Shi earnestly assured Lu Fengmian once more.
“I see, that’s good then.” Lu Fengmian nodded slightly, neither agreeing to shut down the game nor saying she would close it right now.
After finishing her communication with Qing Shi, Lu Fengmian asked if she could transform back into the form of a little girl, just like the other players saw her.
Upon hearing the words “little girl,” Qing Shi paused, as if something flashed across her mind.
Yet, as she tried hard to recall it, she could not remember anything at all.
She felt as though she had missed something very important.
“Does Mianmian really like children?” Qing Shi asked carefully.
Lu Fengmian thought about it for a moment. If it was a child as beautiful as Qing Shi when she was young, and provided her personality was not too mischievous, she would probably like them.
“I suppose I like them, children are quite cute.”
For some reason, a sudden feeling of delight arose in Qing Shi’s heart, a baseless joy that she could not explain even to herself.
“Children are indeed quite cute,” Qing Shi agreed with her words.
Lu Fengmian nodded, “Indeed, soft and delicate, so why don’t you change back for me to see?”
Meeting her expectant gaze, Qing Shi suddenly looked at Lu Fengmian slyly, “Then what reward will Mianmian give me?”
Lu Fengmian was temporarily speechlessly rendered. She sighed, “What reward do you want?”
Qing Shi pointed at the corner of her own lips, “Mianmian, kiss me.”
Lu Fengmian felt completely wrapped around her finger, yet she also felt compelled to agree.
She could only lower her head and give her a light kiss.
Only then did Qing Shi transform back into the appearance of a little girl, yet she remained immensely cute and well-behaved.
“However, in this form, we cannot perform any overly intimate actions, and we cannot promote inappropriate content,” Lu Fengmian warned her.
Although Qing Shi was dissatisfied, she still agreed.
Lu Fengmian crouched down in front of her, gently rubbing little Qing Shi’s cheek, “So cute.”
It seemed she truly had no resistance against a child like this.
Qing Shi looked at her and suddenly spoke, “Actually, if Mianmian likes children, you don’t necessarily have to watch me transform, it seems we…”
As she spoke, a sudden headache struck her, and blurry images flashed across her mind once again.
However, she could not see them clearly, and the harder she tried to think, the more her head hurt.
“Mianmian, I seem to have forgotten something, I can’t remember,” Qing Shi said, feeling somewhat aggrieved.
Lu Fengmian hurriedly embraced her, “It’s fine, it’s fine, if you can’t remember, don’t think about it anymore, there is no rush.”
Seeing her in this state, Lu Fengmian could not help but feel aching sympathy for her.
Qing Shi reverted back to her previous adult form, leaning against Lu Fengmian’s chest with tear tracks still lingering on her face.
Lu Fengmian let out a gentle sigh, “Alright, stop thinking about it, stop thinking about it.”
Only then did Qing Shi gradually calm down.
“I am sorry for causing trouble for Mianmian.”
Lu Fengmian felt both pained and amused, “Silly girl, how is this any trouble?”
“If you don’t like turning into a child, then let us forget about it.” Lu Fengmian realized that regardless of the reason, she truly did not want to make things difficult for Qing Shi.
Qing Shi looked at her eagerly, “Is that okay? Won’t it cause trouble for Mianmian?”
Lu Fengmian let out a helpless laugh, “Even if you turn into a child, you would still bring me trouble all the same.”
With Qing Shi’s temperament, she did not seem like someone who would obediently cooperate.
Besides, Lu Fengmian did not particularly wish for her to constantly accommodate herself for her sake.
“Mianmian is so good, Mianmian really still loves me.”
Lu Fengmian was caught between tears and laughter, she was really quite easy to satisfy.
She reached out to wipe away Qing Shi’s tears once more, “For things you cannot remember, do not force yourself to think about them. When the right time comes, you will eventually remember.”
“Mm.”
Once Qing Shi’s emotions had completely stabilized, Lu Fengmian finally restarted her live stream.
As soon as the live stream opened, she saw the comment section wildly flooding the screen.
[Where is the streamer?]
[Other streamers have already started streaming, you are clearly online, so why aren’t you streaming yet?]
[Making me watch a black screen again, that isn’t very appropriate, is it?]
[Could the streamer be a producer or something?]
Various speculations began to arise in the comment section.
Lu Fengmian did not know how to explain, so she could only greet everyone and shift the blame elsewhere.
“Friends, I am really sorry, it wasn’t that I didn’t want to stream, it seemed there was a bug in the game. I only restored normal operations after reporting it to the production team. The previous storyline deviation was also a bug, and the developers said it has been fixed.”
[Huh? Is there really such a ridiculous bug?]
[Why don’t I believe it? Since it’s fixed, why is the big beauty still by your side?]
[The game’s official team hasn’t issued an announcement though?]
Seeing the comment asking why Qing Shi was still by her side, Lu Fengmian smiled and said, “Because the production team said that since Qing Shi’s Goddess form has already been revealed, they would treat it as compensation for me and allow her to continue accompanying me in this form.”
[There’s actually such a good thing? I am so envious.]
Of course, there were still people questioning if she was a producer who had granted herself special privileges.
Lu Fengmian denied it several times. Although she was indeed the producer, Goddess Qing Shi was certainly not a privilege she gave herself.
She could not explain this kind of matter, so she could only pretend not to notice it.
Furthermore, perhaps this could be used in the future to explain some special storylines she might encounter.
Qing Shi walked to Lu Fengmian’s side, then naturally held Lu Fengmian’s hand.
Lu Fengmian looked down at their intertwined hands, then raised her eyes to meet Qing Shi’s gaze.
The live stream comments exploded once again.
[Is this really not special privilege?]
[Waaaa, I don’t believe it, the streamer must be the sneaky planner.]
“No, I really am not,” Lu Fengmian explained once again.
“The game has favorability levels, the production team said that as compensation for the danger I encountered last time, they maxed out her favorability for me. Other players can also build favorability,” Lu Fengmian could only frantically try to cover her tracks.
[Considering how good-looking you are, I will barely believe it.]
[I have to say, standing together with the Goddess, the streamer really looks pleasing to the eye, why does it feel like they suit each other so well?]
Although players could customize their faces in this full-immersion game, Lu Fengmian had been too lazy to do so earlier, so she entered the game using her real face. In any case, no one knew whether it was real or fake, nor did anyone know who she really was.
Therefore, seeing the comments saying she and Qing Shi were a good match gave Lu Fengmian a strange sensation.
“Is Mianmian going out now?” Qing Shi looked at Lu Fengmian tenderly.
“Mm, yes, I still have things to do,” Lu Fengmian answered her casually.
“Then I will accompany Mianmian,” Qing Shi wore an obedient expression, her hand holding Lu Fengmian’s showing no intention of letting go.
“Alright, let go of me first,” Lu Fengmian looked at their intertwined fingers and tried to negotiate with her nicely.
“I don’t want to,” Qing Shi refused directly.
Lu Fengmian still had a smile on her face, but in her heart, she had already begun to weep.
This was not part of the game script either.
Sure enough, the comment section started scrolling rapidly again.
[Hahaha, your storyline hasn’t been fixed at all.]
[Why is your Qing Shi so much clingier than everyone else’s! Everyone else’s Qing Shi is super cold and aloof.]
Lu Fengmian could only maintain her smile. How was she supposed to explain that real people and data were completely different?
Since she could not explain it, Lu Fengmian could only pretend she did not see the comments.
She brought Qing Shi out of the inn together and proceeded with a bit of the main storyline.
They were currently in the mortal realm, where the main storyline revolved primarily around ordinary mortals.
The current lore set the scene during the peak of a prosperous dynasty, where the mortal empire established deep connections with immortal cultivation sects. Consequently, although there were many demons and monsters in the human world, many disciples from the cultivation sects would accept commissions to descend the mountain and slay demons.
The location where a portion of the players were currently gathered was a city within the central plains dynasty of the human race. It was not the largest city in the dynasty, but it was relatively prosperous.
The initial quests were mostly mundane, trivial interactions with the residents inside the city.
Tasks included helping with odd jobs, delivering messages, sending items, gathering information, and similar everyday errands.
