- The Woman I Was Flirting With Turned Out To Be A Chaebol Heiress
- Chapter 30 - Going to Your Place
I don’t know how much time had passed before Li Nianyi finally removed her hand covering Jiang Ji’s eyes.
The kiss was lingering and deep. Even after Li Nianyi had stopped, Jiang Ji remained immersed in it, her chest rising and falling, even breathing a little softly. She hadn’t quite reacted to Li Nianyi’s departure yet.
The music in the private room had switched to some song without vocals, lingering between the two of them.
“Nian Nian, why did you suddenly kiss me?”
Jiang Ji’s eyes were intense, filled with deep emotions like thick ink.
“I’m your girlfriend. Do I really need a reason to do this?” Li Nianyi tilted her head slightly, a smile on her lips indicating she had succeeded.
“If you really want to know why…”
Li Nianyi’s tone lengthened as if thinking of a reason to brush it off, or perhaps deliberately teasing Jiang Ji, the willing catch.
“Jiang Ji, you sing the low notes so well. I really like it.”
She wanted to hear that beautiful voice again, and maybe some other sounds too.
She didn’t say this aloud, but it shone in her eyes.
Then Li Nianyi took the microphone from Jiang Ji’s hand, her fingertips brushing Jiang Ji’s palm. The next song was one Li Nianyi chose.
But Jiang Ji still seemed trapped in that kiss’s aftertaste; the feeling was subconscious. She tried to think of something else to distract herself but couldn’t.
Every time she heard Li Nianyi say “I like you,” her heart would violently tremble.
Even though she had officially become Li Nianyi’s lover.
Someone like Jiang Ji always had some panic mixed in even during the happiest moments.
But the next moment, Li Nianyi took her hand. The hand was icy cold, but it somehow eased Jiang Ji’s unexplained anxiety.
So she held back, wanting to warm Nian Nian’s hand.
“Nian Nian, the song you just sang was really good. Will you teach me?”
Li Nianyi knew this was Jiang Ji’s way of acting cute. She would soften her voice a bit, rubbing her fluffy head against Li Nianyi’s arm.
She had once suspected Jiang Ji might have a skin hunger disorder always wanting to cling to her, and when she found out Jiang Ji never rejected it but rewarded it, Jiang Ji became even more uninhibited.
Later, Li Nianyi realized it was Jiang Ji’s lack of security.
Jiang Ji liked to physically touch the person she liked to be sure they were really there, to draw a little comfort from it.
The one who always made Li Nianyi feel secure was herself struggling with insecurity alone.
So Li Nianyi took the initiative holding hands, kissing, hugging… with these actions, she told Jiang Ji, “Don’t be afraid. I like you too.”
Like right now, Li Nianyi gently rubbed Jiang Ji’s soft cheek.
“Okay, I’ll teach you to sing.”
Then Jiang Ji was like a parrot, Li Nianyi sang a line, and Jiang Ji echoed it.
She rested her head on Li Nianyi’s shoulder, like a drifting ship finding its harbor. Despite such a happy moment, why did she still want to cry?
Jiang Ji couldn’t understand why, so she stopped thinking and just enjoyed Li Nianyi’s warmth, sinking into her presence and never wanting to leave.
Time seemed always too short when they were together, and tonight was already getting late.
“Nian Nian, where are you going to sleep tonight?” Jiang Ji’s voice was hoarse, probably from tears welling up in her eyes.
They weren’t living together yet. The reason was that Li Nianyi thought even lovers should have their own private space, a place where they could be alone anytime.
“Your place. Your bed is bigger.” But tonight, Li Nianyi didn’t want to be alone.
“…Are you ready?”
“Try it and you’ll know.”
Li Nianyi looked confident, but she was also a bit nervous. No matter how good the theory, practice could always differ.
This was a conclusion she came to after some experiments in the lab recently.
“Then… let’s try?” Jiang Ji’s ears turned red under the flickering KTV lights.
Scene changes to Jiang Ji’s large flat in the harbor district, the ceiling light was bright. Jiang Ji took out a pair of couple style slippers from the cabinet. Li Nianyi didn’t often come here, but Jiang Ji hadn’t missed any couple life essentials.
The slippers were shaped like cats and dogs, bright colors that made Li Nianyi feel nostalgic, like going back to her youth.
Though she wasn’t much older now.
They greeted the two lively little fish swimming in the fish tank. Li Nianyi tried to put her bag on the sofa but stumbled on the edge of the coffee table.
“Careful!”
Jiang Ji pulled Li Nianyi’s knit sweater, catching her and then flipping backward onto the sofa.
Behind her was the soft sofa; in front, the soft Nian Nian. Jiang Ji felt she dared not move, her palms pressing the sofa surface, watching the woman in her arms fumble to support herself.
Then Li Nianyi lowered her gaze, meeting Jiang Ji’s moist eyes. The air fell silent for a moment.
Jiang Ji suddenly remembered that when they first met, Li Nianyi said she was intimidating, but now Jiang Ji felt the other person was the intimidating one.
At least now, when Li Nianyi leaned on her body, it felt like this woman was about to lift her chin and leave a mark on her.
“Jiang Ji, you react so fast.”
“It’s just an instinct… L-let’s get up and wash up first.”
Jiang Ji turned away, urging Li Nianyi to get off her quickly.
“How many times have we kissed already? Why are you still so shy?”
“Stop saying that!”
“Look, that’s not shyness, then what is it?”
Li Nianyi always found countless ways to make Jiang Ji blush and enjoyed it endlessly.
At this moment, she noticed Jiang Ji kept pulling her open knit cardigan but couldn’t get it off, her grip was surprisingly strong.
Jiang Ji quickly released it but accidentally pulled out a small thin box that looked like a medicine package from Li Nianyi’s pocket.
“What’s this?”
Before Li Nianyi could put it away, Jiang Ji had already grabbed it. Well, she’d see it sooner or later, no point hiding now.
“Uh… just some little helpers” Li Nianyi scratched her head and looked away, pretending to be busy.
“Helpers?”
Jiang Ji looked closely at the writing and almost threw it away in shock.
“You just put this in your jacket pocket?”
Her big eyes were wide with surprise.
“Bought it and just slipped it in…”
Not just slipped in.
23 year old Li Nianyi prepared by watching all kinds of educational videos, tool reviews, and experience sharing, while 27 year old Jiang Ji only read pure love comics with just kissing.
Pure-hearted Jiang Ji was unexpectedly dragged into the adult world by Li Nianyi.
So tonight, Li Nianyi’s real intention was this. Jiang Ji thought it would be just kissing and then covering up with a blanket again.
She was nervous, but also excited.
Jiang Ji stuffed the item back into Li Nianyi’s hand: “Keep your tools. Go wash up now.”
After some teasing, Jiang Ji hurried Li Nianyi to the bathroom. Seeing her flustered face, Li Nianyi felt relieved.
What was she afraid of? There was someone more inexperienced than her here.
Anyway, the most important thing was to be happy. As long as Jiang Ji was happy, she wouldn’t consider it a failure.
“Don’t be nervous, Jiang Ji, I’m very gentle!”
Jiang Ji answered with a loud bang, slamming the door. That girl’s head must be about to explode.
Li Nianyi hugged the towel, chuckling.
The small compartments for toiletries were neatly arranged with two sets of toothbrushes that were identical except for color and pattern. Even the body wash and scrub had different scents but the same brands, showing Jiang Ji was quite a straightforward person who always took things seriously.
Of course, that was also adorable.
After a burst of rushing water sounds, Li Nianyi’s muffled voice came from the bathroom:
“Jiang Ji, I’m done washing, but why isn’t there a hairdryer?”
“Oh, I used it last time and left it outside. Come out, I’ll help you dry.”
“Okay then.”
Jiang Ji was deliberate. She had long wanted to do this dry Li Nianyi’s hair for her. Such a simple everyday gesture made Jiang Ji feel like they were very intimate family.
The steam and warmth from the bathroom surrounded Li Nianyi’s bare arms. She wore the deep blue loungewear Jiang Ji prepared, slippers leaving small damp footprints on the smooth floor.
In the room, Li Nianyi sat on the edge of the bed while Jiang Ji gently brushed through her damp hair with the dryer.
“Jiang Ji, the shower gel smells so nice.”
Li Nianyi squinted, enjoying the pampering. Jiang Ji’s fair fingers wove through her hair, gentle as if treating a rare treasure.
“If you come to stay often, you can use it all the time.”
So nice her heart felt filled with this woman’s scent to the point of overflowing.
Jiang Ji finished washing quickly, but Li Nianyi took the chance to light some relaxing aromatherapy candles in the room. The scent was subtle, flowing gently in the air. She turned off the bright white lights and only left a warm yellow lamp on, instantly creating a romantic mood.
The large floor to ceiling window showed a clear view of the city’s myriad lights, but for now, she closed the curtains.
Hearing the bathroom door open, Li Nianyi felt her head get warm. She turned and saw Jiang Ji in a bathrobe at the door, the black robe revealing her very fair skin at the neckline.
So beautiful, Jiang Ji.
Li Nianyi felt her throat tighten.
