- The Wicked Disciple Has Fallen Into Demonic Possession, And The Master Can No Longer Withstand It!
- Chapter 10 - This Person is Mine
Qi Yelan quelled the commotion with just a few words. He walked slowly to stand in front of Yan Jue, shielding him from the crowd while acting as though he had not even noticed the youth’s presence behind him.
Yan Jue had never seen Qi Yelan like this. The man seemed truly enraged. Was it because of him?
“My Lord, why is this person here?”
Cang Qi, the same demon from before, stood up and pointed at Yan Jue. He clamored fearlessly while ignoring the warning elbow jab he received from the human-demon beside him.
“Why hit me? My Demon Race has been at odds with human cultivators for generations. Why is this person allowed here? Your Lordship must give us an explanation, or let us divide and feast upon him right here!”
Yan Jue could not help but shudder, but seeing that Qi Yelan’s expression remained unmoved, he felt a slight sense of relief. Hearing the demon’s demands, Qi Yelan’s face remained as cold as ice, though the killing intent in his eyes flared brilliantly. After a long silence, he finally spoke.
“Cang Qi, you have so much to say. It seems you no longer want your tongue.”
“My Lord”
Cang Qi wanted to say more, but Nan Jue, the human-demon beside him, struck him with a demonic staff. “Cang Qi, you are being presumptuous! How dare you contradict the Lord!”
Nan Jue did not hold back. Cang Qi’s massive frame slammed heavily into a distant stone wall. After a long while, he slowly slid to the ground. While the blow was not fatal, he would not be able to speak again for quite some time.
Qi Yelan’s gaze was like a torch. He flicked his sleeves and turned his back to the demons while his voice was chillingly cold. “This person is mine. If anyone dares to harm him or target him in any way, I will send you to hell to become ghosts!”
Hearing this, none of the demons dared to object. They all bowed their heads in submission.
“Yes, My Lord.”
“I have gathered you all here today for another important matter,” Qi Yelan continued. “I have heard that the old thing from the Moshan Sect is still alive. I did not expect him to have spent these years practicing in seclusion. I want you to find his whereabouts. Whoever brings him before me will be heavily rewarded.”
The Moshan Sect. Yan Jue’s heart skipped a beat. That was the sect where the original Yan Jue and Qi Yelan belonged in their previous lives. Then that old thing
“Is it Immortal Yan Xiu?” a masked demoness asked.
The smile on Qi Yelan’s face widened while it was a cold, mocking sneer. “Who else could it be? I have an old debt to settle with him.”
At this moment, Yan Jue saw an intense killing intent in Qi Yelan’s eyes. Yan Xiu. Yan Jue repeated the name silently twice. He realized why it felt so familiar because this person was the Senior Brother of the original Yan Jue.
Back then, it was this very Senior Brother who had identified Qi Yelan as a natural-born demon during the Demon Subduing Assembly while attacking him and driving him into a corner. In his dying moments, Qi Yelan had been forced to awaken his demonic powers. Yan Jue had not been present at the time while missing the event by a single step. By the time they met, Qi Yelan was a complete demon, and the situation was beyond redemption. If Yan Jue had not killed him then, the world would have inevitably fallen into chaos, and the resolve of the righteous cultivators would have been shaken.
The original Yan Jue had no choice. However, the original Yan Jue had not expected that killing Qi Yelan would create such a vast amount of good merit that it would allow him to ascend. Yan Jue fully understood the logic of his predecessor while knowing that even if it were him, there would have been no other option.
If he had transmigrated earlier, perhaps he could have stopped everything before Yan Xiu took action, but it was too late for that now. He had not realized Yan Xiu was still alive, and Qi Yelan was clearly still brooding over the past while being determined to dig the man out even after a hundred years.
If Qi Yelan felt this way about Yan Xiu, what about the person who had personally killed him? Surely, the hatred would be even deeper. Thinking of this, Yan Jue instinctively took a few steps back.
“What is wrong?”
When he snapped back to reality, Qi Yelan was looking at him.
“Nothing, it is nothing,” Yan Jue said while shaking his head hurriedly.
Ignoring the presence of the other demons, Qi Yelan leaned down slightly. “Why did you not go out but came here instead? Do you not want to leave?”
Yan Jue leaned back to avoid Qi Yelan’s burning gaze. “I, I did not know how to get out.”
Qi Yelan’s expression darkened for a moment before he turned away. “Fine. Since you are determined to go, protect yourself. Your life belongs to me, so do not lose it carelessly. Feng Ling, see him out.”
“Yes, Demon Lord.”
Feng Ling, a demoness with a graceful figure, leapt from the crowd and stood before Qi Yelan. Yan Jue finally noticed that among these grotesque monsters, there was a female demon with a face as white as snow and a lithe physique.
“Let us go, handsome young master.”
Before leaving, Yan Jue took one last look at Qi Yelan, but the man remained with his back turned. Yan Jue then followed Feng Ling out. Feng Ling was not like the other fierce and terrifying demons; instead, she seemed full of spirit. She led Yan Jue toward the cave entrance while looking back at him several times. Noticing he seemed nervous, she took the initiative to strike up a conversation.
“Handsome young master, what is your name? It is quite an honor to be personally protected by our Demon Lord.”
Yan Jue gave a forced smile. Was this an honor? If Qi Yelan had not kidnapped him, he would not be here in the first place, let alone in need of protection. Out of politeness, Yan Jue replied, “My name is Wen Fuchen.”
Feng Ling’s eyes widened. “Wen Fuchen, I know you! You are that useless little junior brother from the Danyang Sect!”
Yan Jue felt a wave of embarrassment. Was his reputation for being useless really that far-reaching?
