The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 91
When Qin Huai regained consciousness, her limbs were heavy as if soaked in water, her head was dizzy, and the air was filled with the acrid smell of disinfectant. The alarm from the cardiac monitor sounded particularly harsh in the ward.
The scene of Shen Zhi lunging towards her that night replayed repeatedly. Her upper eyelids seemed glued to her lower ones, and despite her best efforts to open them, everything was in vain.
“Doctor, she’s awake, the patient in bed 23 is awake.”
A clear female voice moved from near to far. Qin Huai’s hand, clipped with a pulse oximeter, moved. Breaking free from the constraint, she finally opened her eyes slowly.
“Is there any discomfort?”
Qin Huai shook her head, her eyes blankly looking forward. The pupils quickly scanned her left eye, then shifted to her right. The doctor’s movements were swift; before she could blink, all the checks were complete.
The doctor took the stethoscope from around her neck and silently sighed in her heart.
That day, when they received the call, the siren of the emergency vehicle and the fire alarm intertwined, forming a long wail that cut through the quiet night. Upon arrival, they immediately took the people into the ambulance.
The Omega had her eyes closed, her face was sooty, and her hands were covered in blood. The Alpha was worse off, with injuries all over her body and head. The blood had hardened and clung to various parts of her body. She was still in the ICU.
“It’s nothing, she’s safe now,” the doctor told the nurse behind her. “I’ll write the medical orders in a moment, remember to carry them out.”
The nurse nodded, looking at Qin Huai with pity.
These two patients were specifically mentioned by the police, and the medical staff in the department generally knew a few things. Putting everything else aside, the psychological trauma from personally witnessing that upheaval would require time to heal.
The doctor glanced at the Omega, who was still in a daze, gently instructed the nurse to take good care of her, and as she turned back to say goodbye to the patient before leaving, the person who had been lost in thought suddenly blinked, her gaze fixed on the doctor.
“Where is she?” Qin Huai was already thin, and after the incident, her complexion was even paler, like paper, with hardly any flesh left on her body.
The doctor was stunned, unsure of what she was referring to.
Qin Huai lay in the white bed, surrounded by blue curtains, radiating a sense of oppression. With bloodless lips, she struggled to ask what was on her mind, “Where is Shen Zhi?”
After speaking, her lips tightly sealed, but her eyes were like a storm cloud, conveying pressure.
The doctor’s throat moved slightly. She initially wanted to gloss over the truth but realized the person in front of her would eventually know what happened that day, so it was better to be direct. “She is still under observation in the ICU, but she is no longer in life-threatening danger. It’s only a matter of time before she wakes up.”
The doctor and nurse expected the Omega in front of them to cry, to make a scene, or to demand they take her to the ICU after hearing the truth. However, the patient merely blinked, and her chin lowered, touching the quilt.
Emotionally stable.
Relieved, the doctor turned and left the ward.
Before Qin Huai could fully get out of bed, she never once mentioned going to see Shen Zhi. Zhou Yue came a few times, wanting to push her up in a wheelchair, but was always refused, until her feet finally touched the ground.
Every morning during the nurse’s rounds, bed number 23 was always empty. The quilt was neatly folded, and the bedside table was tidy.
Yet, every day at the entrance of the ICU, there would be a slender figure, wearing a hospital gown large enough to envelop her, the sleeves and pant legs neatly folded, sitting quietly by the door.
Shen Zhi was transferred from the ICU to a regular ward after Qin Huai had been discharged.
It was June, and the morning temperature was comparable to noon. The air conditioner had been running all night, bringing a sense of tired drowsiness.
It was Saturday. Most of the classes were finished, and the experiment was nearing its end, so there was no real need to stay at school. Qin Huai brought her laptop and went to the hospital.
Shen Zhi was in a private room designed with a separate living room, bedroom, and kitchen. When Qin Huai arrived, she first drew back the curtains, then tidied up the room and fetched a basin of warm water to wipe Shen Zhi’s body.
Her movements were gentle, the towel gliding over various parts of the body through the thin hospital gown, first the collarbone, then the chest, and finally downward. As it reached a private area, her wrist was suddenly encircled by a hand.
Qin Huai was startled, looking blankly at the Alpha lying in the bed.
The next second, the Alpha on the bed opened her eyes, a familiar smile on her lips, and a shallow dimple beside her cheek. “Sister, how could you take advantage of me while I was asleep?”
The heat surrounding her wrist was so intense it almost made her faint. All her words lingered in her throat, finally transforming into a single sentence, “You are finally awake.”
Shen Zhi nodded, “Yes, I’m awake.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the Omega, who had been composed, suddenly softened, squatting in place, burying her face in her arms, and burst into tears.
The crying was loud, and Shen Zhi instantly panicked.
The Omega was squatting, the shoulder blades on her back visibly shaking. She was crying, and she was venting.
Shen Zhi understood. This cry contained too much self-blame, suppressed emotion, and grievance. She was injured for Qin Huai, and Qin Huai had a strong personality. Although Zhou Yue hadn’t pressured her, she always woke up and blamed herself a few times every day.
Shen Zhi sighed. She let Qin Huai hold one hand and placed the other on Qin Huai’s back, gently stroking it. “Huai Huai, I’m here.”
After Shen Zhi woke up, Qin Huai finally breathed a sigh of relief. After asking the doctor and nurse, she learned that the other person had woken up on Friday night and had deliberately not told her because she knew Qin Huai would be coming the next day. Qin Huai remained angry until Shen Zhi was discharged.
On the day of discharge, Zhou Yue wanted to take Shen Zhi directly home and also invited Qin Huai to come along. In her words, her two darlings had suffered during this time, and they needed a good recovery once they were back home.
Qin Huai initially wanted to refuse. Things were different now. Before, her relationship with Shen Zhi was pure, and staying at their house was fine. But now that the relationship had changed, being together would be somewhat awkward.
Shen Zhi, being understanding, knew what she was thinking. While Zhou Yue was completing the discharge procedures, she whispered in Qin Huai’s ear, “Sister, I’ll refuse Mom later, can you forgive me?”
Qin Huai looked at her suspiciously, her face full of disbelief.
Shen Zhi continued to prove her innocence, the white T-shirt she was wearing as pure as her intentions. “Really, you have to trust me.”
Qin Huai frowned, nodded, paused while packing her luggage, and agreed.
When Zhou Yue returned, Qin Huai had mostly finished packing. She had tied her hair in a low ponytail that day, half of her long hair hanging in front of her chest and the other half down her back. She wore a white T-shirt and light blue jeans, the cuffs of which were folded up, revealing a red string tied around her right ankle.
“Have you thought about it?” Zhou Yue asked upon returning.
Qin Huai didn’t speak, the initiative was with Shen Zhi. The Alpha shifted her gaze, squatting in front of Zhou Yue’s legs like a good girl. “Mom, I’ll listen to you?”
Qin Huai widened her eyes and slowly turned her head.
Shen Zhi didn’t even look at her, continuing, “I have a lot of things from high school that I haven’t collected and want to go home and see. Sister Qin feels the same way.”
Qin Huai, who was betrayed, was completely dumbfounded.
In the end, Qin Huai was still taken home by Shen Zhi. Staying in the ward for so long, even a private room was uncomfortably stifling. After Shen Zhi quickly showered, she went downstairs and saw her mother and Qin Huai sitting together. They were chatting and laughing, and the atmosphere between them was very relaxed.
Hearing the footsteps, Qin Huai looked up and said to Zhou Yue, “Auntie, I still have an experiment to finish today, so let Shen Zhi keep you company first.”
After saying that, she curved her lips and showed Shen Zhi a slight smile.
This smile made Shen Zhi even more distracted. Out of selfishness, she said, “You clearly told me that your experiment was over.”
Qin Huai’s smile, after being stabbed a second time, stiffened.
Shen Zhi, holding the railing, slowly walked downstairs. “Or is it just that Sister Qin simply doesn’t want to keep me company?”
This pitiful tone immediately made Qin Huai relent and agree.
Zhou Yue had been watching the interaction between the two for a long time, her smile unstoppable. “Huai Huai, stay tonight. You can stay in the guest room on the second floor.”
This time, not just Shen Zhi, but Qin Huai was also stunned. After realizing what was said, she repeatedly thanked her. “Thank you, Auntie.”
The second floor was Zhou Yue’s territory, which essentially told Shen Zhi not to cause trouble at night.
But if Shen Zhi was the type to listen, she wouldn’t be Shen Zhi.
That evening, Qin Huai showered and was leaning against the headboard reading. Her hair was semi-damp, and her pajamas were soaked in a damp patch. The red string on her ankle was particularly striking against her fair skin.
The door lock turned with a slight click.
Qin Huai put down the book and looked up, knowing exactly who the visitor was.
Sure enough, the door opened from the outside, and the Alpha sneaked in, meeting Qin Huai’s half-smiling eyes.
Shen Zhi scratched her head and said, “I thought it was pretty boring tonight, so I came to talk to you.”
Qin Huai quietly looked at her for a moment, then closed the book and placed it aside. “Oh, no talking.”
“Then let me blow-dry your hair?”
“I don’t need a babysitter.”
“Then how about making love with you?”
“I can consider it.”
As the words fell, the Alpha who had been standing at the door turned off the light, quickly walked to the foot of the bed, her eyes smiling, but her actions were overly aggressive, grabbing Qin Huai’s ankle and pulling it toward her.
The bed sheet got messy.
In the dim light, Qin Huai’s eyebrows were faint. A long leg extended from under her nightgown, hooking Shen Zhi’s thigh and unconsciously rubbing against it.
This action immediately made Shen Zhi’s eyes turn red, and the scent of sandalwood in the air had a tendency to erupt.
Qin Huai raised her face and asked, “Is that all you’ve got?”
“No,” Shen Zhi’s hand was already on Qin Huai’s lower leg, leaning down to kiss the inside of her thigh. “My capabilities, Sister Qin will find out tonight.”
Fine, dense kisses fell. Qin Huai grabbed the bedding, unconsciously raising her chin, and fragmented moans were as clear as silver bells. The Alpha used the skirt of the nightgown to do things that couldn’t be seen, her two hands tightly clutching her hip bones.
In the quiet air, all that could be heard was gasping and the sound of splashing water.
Qin Huai widened her eyes, staring at the ceiling. A faint tingling sensation came from her scalp, and her body was suspended in mid-air, neither up nor down. Just at that moment, a knock came through the door.
“Huai Huai, are you asleep?”
Qin Huai bit her lip, her trembling legs subconsciously coming together.
