The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 90
The entire space was dimly lit by a dust covered light bulb, with tangled wires crisscrossing everywhere. Yellow garbage bags were piled in a corner with empty mineral water bottles, about to form a small trash heap.
Qin Huai’s foot dropped from Shen Zhi’s shoulder, landing firmly on the ground. She looked up and surveyed the inhuman, ghost-like living quarters. She stood in the light, her hat brim casting a small shadow over her cool, indifferent face, her eyes icy cold.
The Qin Zhijing in the video, the father in her heart, the top talent in academia in the eyes of the public—they all formed a sheet of torn paper, each piece bearing his shadow, yet none of them was the real Qin Zhijing.
Qin Huai suppressed the disgust in her heart, raised her chin, and met the man’s gaze. “When will you let her go?”
“That depends on you.” Separated by a makeshift operating table, Qin Zhijing said, sitting in a chair.
There was a broken-legged stool nearby. Qin Huai pulled it over and sat down. The operating table before them seemed to turn into a negotiation table. “Let her leave. We still have a lot to talk about. Don’t worry, I won’t run.”
Qin Zhijing’s gaze shifted to Shen Zhi’s position. The poor Alpha was like a fish on a chopping board, at his mercy. She looked terrible, but he seemed to enjoy it. “What’s your opinion?”
This was addressed to Shen Zhi. Qin Huai glanced sideways at her.
As she said, she had too many questions for Qin Zhijing about Gu Qing, about herself, about those poor Omegas. With Shen Zhi here, she would worry about her safety. It would be better to send her out, so that whatever catastrophic ending occurred here would not involve her.
Two pairs of eyes simultaneously looked toward the corner. Shen Zhi received their scrutiny but still laughed wildly, as if the one whose edges were being pressed wasn’t her. “I’m not leaving.”
“My good daughter,” Qin Zhijing said, leaning forward, hands crossed on the operating table, laughing like a rat in a sewer. “She won’t leave. How do you think Dad should punish her?”
Qin Huai was not surprised by Shen Zhi’s answer; it was within her expectations. If this Alpha were so easily persuaded, the two of them wouldn’t have been entangled for so long. She slightly shifted her gaze, staring straight at the person in front of her, her answer equally rampant. “Have you forgotten what I just said? If you dare to hurt her, you will get nothing you want.”
Suddenly, the smile on Qin Zhijing’s face froze. He leaned back slightly, resting on the armrest, engaging in a battle of wills with Qin Huai. In the end, he lost and conceded, “The children of the world are always more ruthless than their parents. I promise you.”
Qin Zhijing stood up and walked over to Shen Zhi, venting the unexpressed anger onto her. “Did you hear what she said?”
He was holding a scalpel. An experimenter’s hands are usually clean and rational, but now they were incredibly malicious. He cut the ropes on Shen Zhi’s hands, the bindings fell away, and Shen Zhi regained her freedom.
Qin Zhijing was slightly disgusted with the knife because it had been tainted with other substances and was unworthy of Qin Huai’s highly valuable scent gland. He curled his lip, throwing the scalpel on the ground, and said indifferently as he stood up, “Little Alpha, get lost, or you’ll be buried with us later.”
This was the true Qin Zhijing. Qin Huai closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, Qin Zhijing was already walking towards her.
Stripped of all false facades, the real Qin Zhijing was exactly like this: cruel, brutal, treating human life as grass, obsessed, and prejudiced…
He approached her not because he wanted to talk, but because she was currently just a useful experimental container to him.
After Shen Zhi left, Qin Huai finally looked up, staring up at the man, and spoke the first words of their private encounter that night. “I know how Mom died.”
Qin Huai didn’t know why she brought it up. Perhaps because of what Qin Zhijing had said that day in the quiet cemetery, she just wanted to prove that Gu Qing loved her.
Qin Zhijing rested an arm on the horizontal bar of Qin Huai’s chair armrest. “But that doesn’t change the fact that you are the murderer.”
Qin Huai frowned at him.
He smiled instead of being angry. “If it weren’t for you, Gu Qing might have been sad for a while and then continued her research. So, you cut off your mother’s path.”
Qin Huai shook her head, her emotions surprisingly stable. “Mom kept saying she loved me until she died. How could she blame me? It’s you who should be blamed. You killed so many Omegas. When you smell their pheromones, don’t you dream of them?”
“I am an atheist.” Qin Zhijing smiled proudly. “Moreover, I can kill them once, and I can definitely kill them a second time. What if they turn into ghosts? I am conducting a great research. Their sacrifice is for the rebirth of thousands of Omegas who will no longer be bound by pheromones.”
“But they are someone’s children, a teacher’s students, a lover’s companion.” Qin Huai stood up from the chair and shouted, looking up, “What right do you have to decide their no, our lives?”
“To be chosen by me, that is their good fortune. You are different from them. You are top tier.”
“A top-tier defective product?” Qin Huai’s eyes were red, the anger in her eyes evident when facing Qin Zhijing. “Qin Zhijing, why don’t you go die?”
Cursed by his own daughter, Qin Zhijing was not angry. He shared a secret with Qin Huai as if presenting a treasure. “I guess you hate me now, wishing the people outside would kill me. But don’t worry, they can’t kill me.”
Her thoughts were exposed, and Qin Huai’s eyes widened, listening to the Alpha in front of her say unhurriedly, “Have you forgotten what I do? Our line of work requires the accumulation of all sorts of knowledge. Do you think I only know this?”
“There are explosives buried right beneath our feet.” One moment, Qin Zhijing was smiling playfully, the next, he was gripping Qin Huai’s neck, and the bitter coffee pheromone spread like water around them. “If you dare to trick me today, I will make everyone outside get buried with us.”
Outside, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves. Shen Zhi took the monitor out of her ear and exchanged a look with the police captain.
Qin Huai lay on the cold bed, staring at the single beam of light, her eyes stinging. Qin Zhijing took a fresh pair of gloves from a metal cabinet and slowly put them on.
“Don’t be afraid, it will be over soon.” Qin Zhijing held Qin Huai’s shoulder. “I’ve done this experiment so many times; this time it definitely won’t hurt you too much.”
Qin Zhijing released her and adjusted his glasses, his eyes full of the desire for victory. He didn’t notice that Qin Huai had already slipped her hand into her trouser pocket.
Just as the silver scalpel was about to descend, Qin Huai quickly pulled her hand out of her pocket, holding a similar short knife, her eyes cold.
An Omega’s strength is inferior to an Alpha’s. Qin Huai gritted her teeth, her arms tightly muscled, and with all her might, she only managed to push Qin Zhijing back one step. She immediately sat up on the bed.
“Qin Zhijing, did you forget that I, too, will resist you?” For over twenty years, Qin Huai had followed him without the slightest defiance.
Qin Zhijing pulled the corners of his mouth into a smile. “This makes it interesting.”
With that, he lunged toward Qin Huai again.
When Shen Zhi rushed in, the Alpha’s wrist in the room was bleeding, large drops of blood flowing down like water. Qin Huai was pressed against the operating table from the outside, and the tip of the knife in Qin Zhijing’s hand was about to stab her scent gland.
Shen Zhi ignored everything else and ran forward, emitting large amounts of pheromones. The scent of sandalwood and bitter coffee intertwined, like two invisible figures fighting.
Shen Zhi restrained Qin Zhijing from behind, smashing her knee into the back of his knee, fiercely cursing, “Did I give you permission?”
Qin Zhijing’s body went limp, about to fall forward. Shen Zhi grabbed his back collar and dragged him towards the corner like a dead dog, punching him with murderous intent.
“Who else do you want to settle accounts with?”
“How did you threaten me just now?”
“Did you hurt Qin Huai just now?”
Word by word, sentence by sentence. Qin Huai also had a wound on her arm, though it wasn’t serious. Supporting her waist, she walked from the operating table to Qin Zhijing, her eyes filled with killing intent. “Weren’t you very smug?”
Two of Qin Zhijing’s teeth had already been knocked out.
Qin Huai held the blood-stained knife, the tip fiercely stabbing towards Qin Zhijing’s scent gland. The other man let out a sharp cry of “Ah,” the sound tearing through the long night sky.
The police heard the commotion and rushed over, but no one dared to approach.
Qin Huai’s hand was sticky with blood. She said, “The people you killed even if you were dismembered, it wouldn’t be enough to make up for it. Their scent glands were lightly dug out by you. How does it feel to have your scent gland controlled by someone else now?”
As she finished speaking, the second stab landed.
Qin Zhijing gasped in pain, blood from his forehead flowing into his eyes. “Qin Huai, do you think you’ve won?”
Qin Huai froze.
A sudden commotion broke out among the people who had just entered. A female voice floated in the night air, “There’s another bomb!”
“It’s on him.”
As the words fell, Qin Huai and Shen Zhi exchanged glances and subconsciously ran towards the door.
Qin Zhijing watched the chaos created by these people with cold eyes. The sickly sweet smell of blood filled his mouth. He pulled a match out of his pocket and threw it on his chest. “I’m not wrong, hahahaha. You are the ones who are wrong.”
“Gu Qing, I still haven’t finished my research. Will you be angry?”
As Qin Huai ran towards the door, she looked back. The man, usually impeccably dressed and serious, was half-undressed, his glasses long shattered somewhere. His face was bruised and purple, covered in bloodstains.
“Bang!”
An explosion sounded. Qin Huai was shielded by a warm body beneath her. Amidst the roar and the bright fire, she heard the Alpha’s instructions.
“Jiejie, take care of yourself.”
Qin Huai vaguely felt that this sentence should be said by her to Shen Zhi.
But she also felt that Shen Zhi had always been audacious, calling her name as she pleased, even if it was overstepping boundaries, she was candid and generous.
She was too tired, and she couldn’t take care of herself either.
She could only close her eyes and fall asleep for a while.
A blazing fire burned, the bright flames sweeping over the surrounding flammable materials. The sky seemed to be on fire, brilliantly beautiful and blinding.
