The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 72
The bathroom door was just pushed open from the outside, and a blast of steam rushed out menacingly. Qin Huai was slightly blurred, and her skin became moist and damp.
Inside the bathroom, the wall lamp was not harsh in the mist. Water flowed down in fine streams from the small holes of the showerhead, leaving a faint water mark as it clung to the tiles. The Alpha was not sitting quietly on the chair; instead, she was standing under the shower, with her back to the bathroom door, head lowered.
Shen Zhi’s figure was not the purely muscular build of someone constantly at the gym, nor was it the lean figure of someone who rarely exercised; her body was a combination of cardio and strength training, refined by time.
The lines of her shoulders and neck were taut and firm, like a well strung bow. Her two shoulder blades slightly protruded, with her spine running straight down the middle. Her waist was very narrow, yet not frail; it looked powerful.
Hearing the door open, the Alpha didn’t turn around, but merely looked back over her shoulder, gazing through the thin mist.
Qin Huai averted her eyes, her fingers gripping the doorknob tightening slightly, her throat involuntarily swallowing. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to walk in.”
The Alpha said nothing, just watching her quietly.
Qin Huai took a step back, moving away from the wet tiles. “Call me when you’re done.”
With that, Qin Huai prepared to close the door.
“Wait.”
The door was less than twenty centimeters from closing when Shen Zhi suddenly interrupted. Qin Huai paused in her movement, looking at the floor as she asked, “Is something else wrong?”
It had been too long since Qin Huai had been so intimately in the same space as Shen Zhi, and even her breathing was half a beat off. She dared not look around, only staring at other places to distract herself.
“Sister, I think I sprained my ankle again just now.” Shen Zhi slowly turned around, leaning on the water pipe, one foot hovering a few centimeters above the ground, not daring to step onto the wet floor.
The steam not only blurred the air but also clouded the Omega’s eyes. Qin Huai was somewhat unsure if Shen Zhi’s words were true or false.
“It hurts so much.” As Shen Zhi spoke, her brow slightly furrowed. “Could you help me, please?”
Please?
In that moment, Qin Huai seemed to lose all judgment, stubbornly walking under the shower and grasping Shen Zhi’s forearm. The shower didn’t stop, and Qin Huai’s dry clothes became soaked, with the hair at her temples clinging to her forehead. She supported the Alpha, moving forward like that.
The bathroom was tiled with non-slip tiles, yet Qin Huai still walked very slowly, only coming to her senses when she had helped Shen Zhi all the way back to the bedroom.
Sometimes Qin Huai felt that, more than herself, Shen Zhi was like a traditional Omega: she would act spoiled, pretend to be pitiful, play on sympathy, and use all her advantages to get close to the person she liked.
Just like now, even though she was completely naked, simply sitting on the bed and looking at her, her eyes were filled with endless love, like a spirit emerging from the forest.
Qin Huai was afraid that if she kept looking, she might forget about the serious matter for the night, so she quickly changed the subject. “I’ll go get a towel.”
“Don’t.” Shen Zhi said, reaching out to grab Qin Huai’s lapel. There were still many water droplets on her hand, leaving a damp mark on Qin Huai’s clothing. “Sister, my foot really hurts. Can you massage it for me?”
“I’ll go get some muscle rub and try.” Qin Huai nervously looked around.
Seeing that Qin Huai was about to leave, Shen Zhi bent her leg, hooking her knee over Qin Huai’s thigh. She propped herself up on the bed with her arms straightened, looking at Qin Huai without blinking.
“Muscle rub won’t help,” Shen Zhi said, her eyes shifting downward. “You are more helpful.”
Then, with a force from her calf, the Omega was pulled into her embrace.
When it was over, Qin Huai was held in Shen Zhi’s arms, closing her eyes and entering the post-coital calm.
During this time, Qin Huai was particularly drowsy; her eyes were about to close, on the verge of falling asleep, when the Alpha behind her lightly bit her earlobe.
Qin Huai groggily opened her eyes. “What do you want?”
“Sister, was that comfortable?” Shen Zhi tightened her arms, hugging Qin Huai’s waist tightly.
Qin Huai was too lazy to answer. She was hugging the quilt, preparing to completely fall asleep, when she suddenly seemed to remember something. Her eyes immediately widened, and she turned over in the quilt to face Shen Zhi.
“Not sleepy anymore?” Shen Zhi asked, looking at Qin Huai’s wide-open eyes.
They were sharing one pillow, close enough to feel each other’s breath. Qin Huai originally didn’t want to disturb this rare moment of peace, but she also felt it was a good opportunity.
She couldn’t help but ask, “How exactly did you get into that car accident today?”
Shen Zhi’s gaze froze for a moment. Just as she recovered, Qin Huai added, “I know a few things, so don’t try to deceive me.”
After Qin Huai finished speaking, she carefully observed Shen Zhi’s expression, noticing that the Alpha, who had been relaxed moments ago, now had tense facial muscles.
“So, you’d better tell me honestly,” Qin Huai continued, placing one hand on Shen Zhi’s face, a gesture of affection but with a detached look in her eyes. “Otherwise, I’ll dump you sooner or later.”
Shen Zhi knew that Qin Huai was not joking this time. Anything that happens once or twice will not happen a third or fourth time. The fact that Qin Huai was asking her now meant she was willing to give her a chance.
“I’ll tell you,” Shen Zhi pursed her lips, her expression becoming serious. “As long as you are willing to listen, I am willing to speak.”
For the next half hour, Qin Huai didn’t say a word, only patiently listening to Shen Zhi speak. Shen Zhi, in turn, was observing the Alpha’s expression, especially when the name Qin Zhijing was mentioned.
Shen Zhi had expected her to be shocked, angry, or disappointed, but to her surprise, Qin Huai did not react as she had thought. She seemed to be listening to something unrelated to herself, and when it was over, she only blinked.
Shen Zhi was afraid she was upset, so she reached up and turned off the bedside lamp. The surroundings plunged into darkness, and neither could clearly see the other’s expression.
Shen Zhi’s voice was deep. “Are you sad?”
Qin Huai subconsciously shook her head, then remembered Shen Zhi couldn’t see her and said aloud, “It’s okay.”
The Omega said, shifting her head slightly and resting her cheek against Shen Zhi’s neck. “My feelings for my father aren’t as deep as you imagine. If Gu Qing hadn’t tied us together, we might be better off as strangers.”
“Actually, when I was little, I grew up at my maternal grandparents’ house. My grandparents weren’t particularly fond of me, nor did they dislike me. The day I was taken away, I sat alone in the car, and neither of them came to send me off. It wasn’t until the car had just left that my grandmother rushed over like a madwoman and snatched my little bear from my hands.”
“She should have been happy that I was leaving, but she was the one crying the most bitterly. She told me to live happily.”
“Afterward, I was unhappy every day. When I came to the new house, my father was engrossed in his experiments. The nanny locked me in the storage room, and no matter how loudly I cried, no one bothered to pay attention.”
“Shen Zhi, I don’t need a earth-shattering, undying love. I just want someone to pay attention to me.”
Qin Huai hadn’t finished speaking, but the hand on her waist tightened, holding her closely. Shen Zhi’s expression, visible in the moonlight, was exceptionally solemn; even if the Omega couldn’t see it, it didn’t matter. “You will.”
“What?”
Shen Zhi: “Everything you want, you will have.”
