The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 21
Regarding Qin Huai’s illness, Zhou Yue gave a comprehensive reply and specifically left her WeChat number to facilitate subsequent adjustments based on the condition.
It was nearly noon when they left the hospital. Shen Zhi had already booked a car on an app, and the two stood under a tree branch near the entrance, waiting for the car to arrive.
Hospitals are always bustling with people: shared bicycles haphazardly parked at corners, ambulances rushing by on the road, and patients and accompanying family members carrying large bags that only contain an X-ray film.
Qin Huai stood on the curb, watching the passing crowd, her mind slightly drifting.
Shen Zhi had helped her tremendously with this illness, arranging the hospital visit and introducing Zhou Yue each was an enormous favor.
And debt of gratitude is the hardest to repay.
Qin Huai pondered for a moment where she stood, eventually reaching out to tug the Alpha’s sleeve beside her, asking, “Want to get something to eat later?”
Shen Zhi was engrossed in negotiating with her mother on WeChat when she suddenly felt her sleeve being tugged. She looked up.
The person beside her had already withdrawn her hand, looking straight ahead, her expression showing no sign of nervousness.
The Omega was not very tall next to Shen Zhi, but this height pleased the Alpha; it was at a level where she could lower her neck and kiss the lips.
Qin Huai was habitually cold, even her lips were unapproachable and thin. Any Alpha who had pursued Qin Huai knew that as soon as her lips pursed, her next words would be a rejection. But even though those lips were currently pressed together, when they parted, they shone faintly pink in the filtering sunlight. The lines of her philtrum were sharp, but the lips themselves were full and trembled slightly in that instant.
So soft, a little bit tempting to kiss.
Shen Zhi stared intently at Qin Huai’s lips, her throat bobbing as she licked her own lips.
“Are you eating?” Not hearing Shen Zhi’s reply after a long time, Qin Huai turned her head, with a speed that caught her by surprise.
Shen Zhi was caught off guard, her gaze immediately slipping away from Qin Huai’s lips, a guilty look on her face as if she had been caught doing something wrong.
Qin Huai most disliked it when people were absent-minded while she was speaking. Her expression slightly chilled, but then she remembered Zhou Yue’s advice and softened her tone as much as possible, asking, “What were you looking at?”
“Nothing,” Shen Zhi instantly denied. “Nothing at all.”
Qin Huai had endured this much already, so she looked away. Her mind quickly processed the details that had just flashed through.
The Alpha was taller than her, so when she lowered her head, her line of sight would be slanted. Calculating that angle, Shen Zhi must have been looking at—
Her mouth.
For an Alpha to stare so intently at an Omega’s lips, it could either be because the Omega had something on her lips or because the Alpha was thinking something inappropriate.
Qin Huai furrowed her brow and ran her index finger over her lips. Her fingertip was dry, with no moist milk residue.
“You just said” The Alpha seemed to awaken from a trance. She turned her head, but before she could finish her sentence, she saw Qin Huai rubbing her lips with her fingertip. She asked, “What are you doing?”
Qin Huai stopped and withdrew her hand, asking seriously, “Did I get milk tea on my mouth?”
After saying that, she pursed her lips, signaling Shen Zhi to look.
The soft, pink lips were just pink and nothing else, with no white residue.
But Shen Zhi couldn’t help recalling the image of the Omega drinking milk tea earlier.
A rush of blood went straight to her head, and everything around her seemed muted. She heard her own saliva in her mouth, “Yes, a big smear. I’ll help you.”
Before Qin Huai could speak, Shen Zhi took a small step forward, closing the distance between them.
From Qin Huai’s perspective, she could see the Alpha’s tight jawline. Feeling a bit uncomfortable, she took a step back but was quickly stopped by Shen Zhi, who said, “Don’t move.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she gave the Omega no chance to escape. Her eyes were like those of someone who had spotted a stray lamb, filled with an inevitable possessiveness.
Shen Zhi raised her right hand to support the Omega’s chin, then extended her other thumb, pressing the pad of her finger onto the soft lips she had desired for so long.
Although Shen Zhi intentionally restrained her strength, lips could hardly withstand such friction.
The fleshy pink turned cherry red.
The full and abundant “fruit flesh” made the Alpha unable to resist the slightest temptation.
Shen Zhi’s gaze was intensely deep. She stopped her thumb, resting it at the corner of the Omega’s mouth. She lowered her neck, leaning forward slightly, attempting to close in on her prey.
Qin Huai suddenly snapped awake, pushing forward against the Alpha’s chest with her palm.
The distance widened.
The Alpha blinked, and when she looked again, she had returned to her usual harmless appearance.
As if everything that had just happened hadn’t occurred.
“Qin Huai,” Shen Zhi said, “The car is about to arrive.”
Unable to figure out her thoughts, Qin Huai could only correct her present error, “Call me ‘Senior Sister’ (Xuejie).”
Having completed the better examination, Qin Huai left after retrieving the results on Wednesday. With the sports meeting approaching and her thesis revision underway, Qin Huai didn’t have the mental space to dwell on these matters.
The university sports meeting was scheduled from Wednesday to Friday, exactly three days, without encroaching on student holidays.
On Wednesday morning, various departments gathered in front of the rostrum. After the school leaders’ speeches, the sports meeting was officially declared open.
University sports meetings are different from high school. In high school, everyone in the class must attend, even if they didn’t sign up for an event, they still had to be the “atmosphere group.” In university, only those who signed up gather at the start of their events; those who didn’t can stay in the dorms and not participate.
By old habit, Qin Huai would have already hidden away, but today was different. As an assistant, she had to stand under a sun umbrella, doing the work of a counselor, handing a bottle of Red Bull to every student who finished an event. Lin Qiu was with her.
This task was actually quite easy, but it was a bit of a waste of time. Qin Huai sat on a stool, watching the cheerful laughter on the sports field, idly fiddling with the aluminum can in her hand.
Then she remembered Shen Zhi’s answer at the hospital gate that day.
The ride-hailing car was parked on the other side of the road, requiring them to walk over. After Qin Huai said her piece and was about to take a step, her wrist was grabbed by the Alpha next to her.
“What if I don’t?” Shen Zhi replied unhurriedly amidst the urgent sound of a car horn.
That was Shen Zhi’s answer, a simple “don’t.”
The tone carried an unprecedented forcefulness and determination.
As well as a certain
act of insubordination.
Sometimes people deliberately forget things. For example, Qin Huai remembered every scene that day; she even remembered the exact position of the tree shadows, but she had completely forgotten how she had replied.
She should have noticed the strangeness earlier.
But most of the time, Shen Zhi’s attitude wasn’t serious, and her tone was often playful, which prevented Qin Huai from considering that aspect.
Plus, there was the question Liu Nian had asked her: “What is the reason an Alpha tells an Omega their love history?”
She had searched on Baidu that day, and the replies had increasing levels of suggestiveness.
[She likes you] [She wants to sleep with you] [She wants to mark you]
The answers were varied but the meaning was largely the same. Qin Huai rubbed her temple in a headache, hoping she was just overthinking.
Lin Qiu sat behind Qin Huai and heard her sigh, scoffing, “Too much last night?”
Qin Huai was too lazy to respond to that irrelevant remark.
Seeing her silence, Lin Qiu continued, “Qin Huai, stop pretending. You’re ambiguous and elusive with me, but with Shen Zhi, you’re different. Has she already slept with you?”
This was getting too close. Qin Huai frowned and shot a cold glance at her. “It’s none of your business.”
“How is it none of my business?” Lin Qiu laughed mockingly. “When we were together, you wouldn’t even let me touch your hand. How is it different with Shen Zhi? Does she make you feel good? How about we try sometime? I’m not worse than her.”
These vulgar words made Qin Huai’s face darken. She gripped the Red Bull can so tightly that it deformed. She stood up from her seat and walked over to Lin Qiu, her eyes calm, showing no sign of anger. “Say that again.”
“Oh, I misspoke. One Alpha can’t satisfy you.” Lin Qiu’s usual gentle expression was now replaced with a sneer, “We can try together.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Qin Huai stared directly at her, lifted the can, and threw it right at Lin Qiu’s face.
The heavy aluminum can hit her hard and painfully.
Almost everyone in the area heard the dull sound and turned their heads in unison.
Qin Huai seemed not to notice, her eyes calm: “Say that again.”
Lin Qiu’s face was flushed red, but she was unafraid and said, “I said, in reality, you probably already threw yourself at her”
Just as Qin Huai raised her hand, preparing to slap her, her wrist was grabbed from behind. She turned around to see Shen Zhi standing behind her.
“Qin Huai, I’ll handle this.” Shen Zhi gave a reassuring look, released Qin Huai’s hand, and stood in front of her.
A smile was still on Shen Zhi’s face, making it impossible for anyone to read her current mood. Lin Qiu was losing her mind. She raised her neck, pointing a finger at Shen Zhi, acting recklessly, “Qin Huai is so explicit language satisfying in bed, right Ah”
Before she could finish her sentence, her index finger was seized by Shen Zhi. Then, under everyone’s gaze, Shen Zhi bent the joint backward, with a audible clack, a crisp sound of bone breaking.
Lin Qiu was in too much pain to speak. Large beads of sweat poured down her forehead. The scent of Osmanthus pheromones slowly diffused into the air due to her emotional instability.
But it didn’t end there, because in the next second, Shen Zhi gripped her neck, her thumb and index finger pressing against her throat, her expression fierce, “What did I warn you about? Did you forget?”
“Did I not say I would make you unable to stay here?”
Lin Qiu’s eyes bulged slightly, her face flushed from lack of breath as she was choked.
“Too many people here,” Shen Zhi leaned in close to her ear and warned, “You wait.”
Her hand released its grip as the last word finished.
Gasping for fresh air, Lin Qiu clutched her neck, taking huge gulps of air.
Shen Zhi didn’t even look at her, turning back to Qin Huai and immediately returning to her usual harmless self, “Let’s go grab something to eat.”
Qin Huai hadn’t fully recovered from the recent events, but she was already being pulled a small step forward.
Before they could walk out from under the umbrella, Lin Qiu suddenly spoke from behind, her voice heavy with resentment, “Shen Zhi, do you really think you can walk around campus like you own the place?”
Hearing this, Qin Huai stopped in her tracks.
Shen Zhi was already resistant to such useless talk and chose to ignore it, but Qin Huai was different.
She pulled her wrist free from Shen Zhi’s hand and walked up to Lin Qiu. Most of the time, Qin Huai was indifferent. As long as something didn’t concern her, she wouldn’t spare a glance, even if she passed by.
But this was different.
Regardless of the reason, Shen Zhi had crossed Lin Qiu because of her. These matters had nothing to do with Shen Zhi, yet she got involved.
Qin Huai couldn’t just stand by and ignore it.
“Lin Qiu, don’t touch her.” Qin Huai spoke without a tone of negotiation, only saying half of what she meant, leaving the rest for Lin Qiu to guess.
After saying this, she returned to Shen Zhi. Under the astonished gaze of the crowd, she took the initiative for the first time, pulling the Alpha’s wrist, and left the area.
Lin Qiu was left standing there, hunched over, a complex look flashing in her eyes. After a moment, the corners of her mouth slowly curved up, revealing an eerie and terrifying smile.
She thought: this matter is not over yet.
