- The Wealthy Old Man Carried a Child After His Divorce
- Chapter 17 - Discovering a Huge Secret!
“Cough, cough.”
Bai Yifeng leaned over the sink, spitting out the last mouthful of water. The Alpha behind him, who kept patting his back, could not stop feeling distressed. “Brother Feng, do you feel any better? I told you to move away quickly just now, why did you?”
“Shut up. It has already been swallowed, so do not keep bringing it up over and over again.” Bai Yifeng turned off the faucet and used Fang Xu’s hand to wipe his face before finally breathing a sigh of relief. He gave the worried blonde man a frustrated look and said weakly, “My legs are soft. Take me back to the bedroom.”
“I will carry you.” Fang Xu slid one hand under his knees and, without another word, lifted him in a horizontal carry, stroking toward the bedroom with large strides. Bai Yifeng wanted to say something, but on second thought, he let it go.
After all, Fang Xu had indeed given him enough warning. He had even gripped his jaw when he was about to release, but Bai Yifeng himself had been too swept up in the moment to let go, so he could not really blame Fang Xu.
The corners of his mouth were still a bit sore, and his throat was inevitably swollen. Fang Xu kept kissing his lips repeatedly. Having just been through a round of exhaustion, Bai Yifeng really had no energy left to cooperate with him, so he had to heartlessly push the large dog to the side. “Let me, cough, sleep for a while.”
“Okay.” Fang Xu felt both pity and joy in his heart. Bai Yifeng did so much for him that he wished he could cut out his entire heart and offer it to him. Of course, if Bai Yifeng heard him say that, he would definitely just ruffle his hair vigorously.
Full of happiness, he gave Bai Yifeng a firm hug before covering him with the quilt. He took the terminal bracelet off his wrist and placed it by the pillow so that he could sleep peacefully.
Bai Yifeng was exhausted to the extreme, and the mental and physical satisfaction allowed him to fall into a deep sleep quickly. However, he had not been asleep for long when the doorbell began to ring incessantly. He frowned uneasily. Although Fang Xu’s voice was whispering reassurances in his ear, the Beta was still woken up.
“Brother Feng, I will go take a look.” As soon as Bai Yifeng woke up, Fang Xu leaned in. The handsome face suddenly magnified in front of him, and Bai Yifeng’s heart skipped a beat; he was struck by how good-looking he was.
He helplessly pushed the Alpha away and sat up. “How long have I been asleep?”
“Less than half an hour.” Fang Xu was a bit annoyed. Had he known, he would not have spent so much time admiring Bai Yifeng’s sleeping face and would have gone out to beat up the person ringing the doorbell first.
“Where is my terminal?” Bai Yifeng subconsciously touched his bare wrist. Feeling no bracelet, he looked a bit lost. The next moment, the bracelet was placed in his hand. Fang Xu brushed aside the slightly long hair on his forehead and gave him a loud smack of a kiss. “I am going to open the door.”
“I will go with you.” Just as Bai Yifeng finished speaking, he saw Fang Xu curl his lip. “What is it?”
Fang Xu gritted his teeth. “The person outside has Big Brother’s scent.”
No wonder Fang Xu had not opened the door. Bai Yifeng lay back down, pondered for a moment, and then decided to get up anyway. “Together. At worst, we will call the police. I do not believe he can actually kill me.”
“I am the police,” Fang Xu said helplessly. Bai Yifeng supported himself with one hand and sat astride Fang Xu’s lap. He looked down at him for a while as the doorbell outside became less urgent but continued to ring. Bai Yifeng slapped away a certain someone’s hand that was wandering toward his waist. “Mr. Officer, it is time to receive the guest.”
“Give me a kiss.” Fang Xu pushed his luck. After receiving the permitted kiss, he reluctantly let Bai Yifeng down. Seeing the pajamas that had been ruffled open by his own rubbing, he wanted to change Bai Yifeng’s clothes, but Bai Yifeng held his hand down. “Why are you taking off my clothes?”
“I do not want anyone else to see Brother Feng like this.” The blonde puppy leaned down and nibbled lightly on his nape as if declaring sovereignty. “Brother Feng is mine.”
“I never said I was not yours.” Bai Yifeng rubbed his thick back vigorously. “Do not disturb the neighbors.”
That oblivious person outside was still pressing the doorbell.
Fang Xu said grumpily, “I own this entire floor.”
Bai Yifeng: “Nothing.”
Showing off your wealth, are we? Fine, I am a rich person now too!
In the end, Bai Yifeng compromised and agreed to change clothes. In case the person outside was not Fang Yang but just someone carrying his pheromone scent, it would be quite embarrassing. It was better to dress properly.
Fang Xu followed behind Bai Yifeng toward the entryway with a dissatisfied look, watching as he unlocked the door. Sure enough, he smelled a wave of Fang Yang’s pheromones, but after looking up, it was not Fang Yang who appeared, but a stranger.
It was an Omega.
He had the standard appearance of an Omega: delicate and beautiful. Even with short hair, he invoked a sense of pity. He was truly the picture of delicate and touching.
“Um, hello there.” The person was a bit restless. He bowed to them first and, after standing straight, swept his gaze timidly across their faces. Fang Xu’s Alpha aura was too strong, so he quickly looked toward Bai Yifeng, who seemed much gentler. “May I ask if Mr. Bai Yifeng lives here?”
Bai Yifeng did not remember ever meeting such a person, but he still nodded. “That is me.”
“Hello, Mr. Bai.” Hearing his words, the Omega breathed a sigh of relief. He lowered his head and took out his terminal from his jacket, showing a page to him. “I am Song Ye from the medical department of the Maisel Squad. I am here to deliver your induction notice.”
“Maisel?” Hearing this, Fang Xu snatched the terminal from his hand. After looking at it carefully, he frowned deeply. “Did I not request for him to be assigned to my squad?”
“This, this is an order from above. I am only responsible for delivering the notice.” Song Ye was startled by him. Bai Yifeng patted Fang Xu. “Give the terminal back to him.”
Fang Xu threw the terminal back to Song Ye and signaled for him to wait. He took out his own terminal and sent a message directly to someone.
Once the other party answered the call, he started with, “Maisel, this is Fang Xu. I want the newcomer in your medical department.”
“Colonel, the order I received was from your grandfather.”
“This is my boyfriend, not my grandfather’s boyfriend.” Hearing this answer, Fang Xu’s expression darkened. “The one fighting and killing on the battlefield is also me, not him. Are you sure you want to continue with this corrupt style of work?”
Bai Yifeng’s brow twitched. What were they talking about?
At the door, Song Ye’s shoulders trembled as he heard him talking to his direct superior. Fearing he might drop dead of fright at his doorstep, Bai Yifeng invited him in to sit for a while. Song Ye was about to agree when Fang Xu threw a sharp look at him from behind Bai Yifeng. The Omega immediately froze and waved his hands hurriedly. “I, I should just stay standing here.”
That Alpha looks familiar, but why is he so terrifying?
Hearing Fang Xu’s words, Maisel broke into a cold sweat and repeatedly agreed to follow the Colonel’s assignment. The page on the terminal in Song Ye’s hand refreshed instantly. Bai Yifeng looked over and saw that his assigned unit had changed from the Maisel Squad to a complex icon.
Song Ye swallowed hard upon seeing that icon. As soon as Fang Xu finished the call, he quickly said his goodbyes and bolted.
He did not want Fang Xu to hold a grudge against him.
“Why is he running so fast?” Bai Yifeng was quite surprised by the Omega’s escape speed. A pair of hands circled his waist and hauled him back from the doorway. With the sound of the door closing, Bai Yifeng blinked and realized he was back on the living room sofa, with his bottom resting on Fang Xu’s thighs.
Fang Xu silently pressed his face against his back. Bai Yifeng patted his hand. “What is it?”
“Brother Feng, I was not exaggerating at all when I said Grandpa does not like me,” Fang Xu said softly. “He has disliked me since I was a child. I pursued you before you lost your memory, but under his matchmaking, you still married Big Brother.”
At that time, it had been nearly half a year since Bai Yifeng had differentiated into a Beta. Fang Yang had stated that they could be friends, but anything further was out of the question. Yet, for some reason, he had finally agreed to marry Bai Yifeng as promised.
“Xu,” Bai Yifeng suddenly said in a deep voice, “when did you awaken your Secret Bond?”
“Why the sudden question?” Fang Xu was stunned for a moment. He thought back and said softly, “It was a summer before Big Brother married you.”
Bai Yifeng climbed off him and sat back on his lap facing him, asking seriously, “Did you have any contact with me before the awakening?”
Fang Xu’s face turned red. Seeing this, Bai Yifeng knew he had guessed correctly. The Alpha whispered, “What exactly does Brother Feng want to ask?”
“Just say if there was or not.” Bai Yifeng pinched his face. “Tell me.”
“Yes,” Fang Xu said with a red face. “I stole a kiss from you before, but it was only on the cheek.”
“Was the awakening of the Secret Bond before or after that?”
“After.” By now, Fang Xu had also realized what he was getting at. “Brother Feng, do you think I only awakened the Secret Bond after having contact with you?”
“Has Fang Yang ever been intimate with me?” Bai Yifeng curled his lips and said with confidence, “He has not. He would never be intimate with a Beta, right?”
Fang Xu listened in a daze. Bai Yifeng smiled and said, “Then it is clear. The Old Master dislikes you and favors your elder brother. What he wanted was for Fang Yang to awaken the Secret Bond, so he insisted that I stay with Fang Yang.”
“But he never imagined that Big Brother had no interest in Brother Feng at all.” Fang Xu understood instantly and frowned. “So that is why he was so angry when he heard Big Brother divorced you that day.”
He was so angry he almost struck Fang Yang.
“The treasure the Old Master was guarding has now fallen into your arms.” Bai Yifeng leaned on his shoulder and whispered, “I do not know how you feel, but I find it quite satisfying.”
Fang Xu held him tightly, his fingertips tracing up and down his spine. This made Bai Yifeng feel very relaxed, nearly causing a cat like purr to escape his throat. He added lazily, “This is just my guess, so do not take it too much to heart.”
“No, Brother Feng, you are right.” Fang Xu took a deep breath and pulled him down as he lay on the sofa. Bai Yifeng thought he was going to fall, but he was supported by the waist and placed on the Alpha’s chest. Bai Yifeng’s ear was pressed against his heart, hearing Fang Xu’s strong and powerful heartbeat. “The Fang family has not had a Secret Bond awakener for over a dozen generations. Your appearance was an accident. You are the only variable.”
Bai Yifeng yawned. He vaguely remembered the induction notice said he should report for duty tomorrow. He asked hazily, “Are you going to the base tomorrow?”
“Mhm.”
“Take me with you.” Bai Yifeng rested his head in the crook of his neck and closed his eyes. “I need to sleep for a while now.”
After all, he had to go to work tomorrow.
It was simply tragic.
But if he could be closer to Fang Xu, he was willing.
