- The Wealthy Old Man Carried a Child After His Divorce
- Chapter 10 - Isn't This His Sister-in-Law?!
“Brother Feng, how are you feeling?”
Bai Yifeng struggled to open his eyes and looked at Fang Xu by the side of the bath. Every time this kid started, he would toss and turn him over several times. However, Bai Yifeng had to admit that after getting a taste of it, he truly enjoyed the feeling of being with him. There was no need to worry too much; he did not even need Fang Xu to be particularly gentle.
They were both men, and they both knew exactly what the other wanted.
However, Fang Xu was always cautious with him. Of course, that caution was limited to caring for his moods and feelings, not his movements or strength. Every push and pull gave Bai Yifeng the illusion that he was about to merge into one with him.
“I am fine.” Bai Yifeng looked into his pure, flawless eyes, and the words of reproach died in his throat. Everything about Fang Xu was great, except for his excessive endurance; Bai Yifeng found it a bit hard to take. “I am hungry.”
“I will go get you something to eat. You keep soaking; just call me if you need anything.” Hearing this, Fang Xu hurriedly stood up, grabbed his bathrobe, and walked out. “What do you want to eat?”
“The meal where you hid a surprise last time was delicious.” Bai Yifeng tilted his head to look at him. From this angle, he could see Fang Xu’s sturdy pectoral muscles. The curve made Bai Yifeng incredibly envious. He looked down at his own chest; although he had some muscle, men always have a sense of competition. He wanted chest muscles like those.
Seeing that he still remembered the small note from last time, Fang Xu could not help but return to the edge of the bath. He cupped Bai Yifeng’s face in both hands and gave him a forceful kiss before rushing out of the bathroom toward the kitchen.
The Alpha’s kiss carried a floral scent. Bai Yifeng stuck out the tip of his tongue to lick the corner of his mouth where he had been kissed; it felt as if his tongue were filled with the fragrance of Fang Xu’s pheromones.
The satisfaction following exhaustion and intimacy caused Bai Yifeng to unknowingly fall asleep in the bath. By the time he woke up, he had been fished out. Not only was he wearing fresh pajamas, but he had also been moved from the tub to the bed. His body felt dry and clean; he did not need to guess to know that Fang Xu must have applied medicine to him.
Fortunately, he had not been awake while the medicine was being applied.
Fang Xu was facing away from him, focused on processing something on his brain-computer. His gaze was intent, and he occasionally murmured words that Bai Yifeng could not quite catch. Someone on the other end seemed to be responding, so Bai Yifeng did not disturb him. Having nothing else to do after waking up, the Beta found his gaze drawn to Fang Xu’s long golden hair.
He remembered that while at the Fang family ancestral home, he had used his brain-computer to browse the news and had seen an interview video of Fang Xu and Fang Yang. In the video, Fang Xu clearly had black hair. Why did he have long golden hair in reality?
Did it have something to do with his lineage?
The fictional dragon from the novel was right before his eyes, looking no different from a normal human. It was truly miraculous.
Bai Yifeng sat up slightly, reaching out to cup a cluster of golden hair and examining it closely in his palm. Fang Xu’s hair was very soft and well-maintained; holding it felt like touching high-quality satin. The Beta wondered if his hair might also smell of flowers.
What kind of floral scent was it?
He was so focused on studying Fang Xu’s golden hair that he was entirely unaware the Alpha was frozen, not daring to move an inch.
“Colonel? Could you repeat the last paragraph of your report? I did not hear it clearly.” Fry’s movements stopped because of Fang Xu’s sudden silence. When he did not hear an answer for a long time, he repeated, “Colonel?”
The teammate’s voice was clear in the earpiece, but Fang Xu’s whole mind was on the fact that Brother Feng is playing with my hair. This was not the first time Bai Yifeng had been close to him; in just half a month, their relationship had become more intimate than that of Bai Yifeng and Fang Yang. Yet, even after negative distance contact, Fang Xu’s heart still raced because of such a pure gesture.
Brother Feng is truly irresistible.
The Alpha’s heart was filled with emotion, and the happy curve of his lips deepened. Fortunately, Fry’s call brought him back. He cleared his throat, and noticing that Bai Yifeng had withdrawn his hand behind him, he felt a twinge of disappointment. He had to finish the work at hand first.
“Colonel, the report is finished. I am submitting it now,” Fry said from the other side. “The mission notification has been delivered. The destination is the Elsen swamplands. The target will complete a transaction there. The mission objective is escort duty.”
“Understood. If there is nothing else, I am cutting the connection. I will contact you before we set out. This time, remember to tell Luke to arrive early. If he is late again, he can go live with Al.” Fang Xu dropped these few sentences and, after confirming Fry had nothing else, cut the call. He turned around and dove straight into the arms of Bai Yifeng, who had not yet had time to pretend to be asleep.
Bai Yifeng was knocked back into the soft bedding by the impact. Not only that, but Fang Xu’s golden hair spilled over his shoulders, shimmering as if he, too, had been dyed gold.
He was being dyed in Fang Xu’s color.
“Brother Feng, do I look good?” Fang Xu lifted his head from his chest. As soon as he spoke, his head was vigorously rubbed twice by Bai Yifeng. Bai Yifeng’s helpless voice sounded from above: “Get up quickly, you are going to crush me to death.”
“Brother Feng, Brother Feng,” Fang Xu obediently rolled off him and lay down beside him, looking at him sideways with eyes full of anticipation. “What do you think our relationship is now?”
Bai Yifeng originally wanted to ask how his hair could be black one moment and golden the next, but hearing the question, he fell silent.
To him, Fang Xu was undoubtedly responsible; he could even be described as overly responsible. Similarly, Bai Yifeng was enjoying that responsibility. It was not just about a place to stay or a meal, nor was it just the mutual adjustment of living together. Bai Yifeng felt an equal sense of responsibility toward Fang Xu.
He had said long ago that he could get used to all of this. He and Fang Xu were tied together because of the mark. He chose to accept fate, but Fang Xu insisted on waiting until the day he understood his own heart.
Bai Yifeng did indeed need that wait, but facing the Alpha’s hope, he could not bring himself to give no response.
He viewed Fang Xu with both the care and indulgence of an elder for a younger person, and the tolerance and recognition of an intimate peer relationship.
For now, he could not yet say like or love; he could only say that the two of them were compatible.
“Fang Xu.” Bai Yifeng called the Alpha’s name. He wanted to ask what kind of answer Fang Xu wanted to hear to be satisfied, but looking into his eyes, the words changed as they reached his lips: “I will not leave you.”
“Brother Feng, I am so happy.” Fang Xu pounced again. This time, he only hugged the Beta lightly, holding him tight and unwilling to let go. “Oh, right! I will go get your food!”
He jumped up as he spoke but left his previously replaced brain-computer on the bed. He had just left when the device rang. The name on the screen was Big Brother.
It was Fang Yang.
Bai Yifeng looked away, tightening the collar that had been loosened by Fang Xu’s movements. He stood up and walked barefoot to the kitchen door, leaning lazily against the frame. “Xiao Xu.”
“Brother Feng, what did you just call me?” Fang Xu spun around from the heating box and looked at the Beta by the door. “Can you call me that again?”
Bai Yifeng yawned and narrowed his eyes. “Fang Yang called you. Go answer it.”
Fang Xu: “Can I not answer it?”
“Go on. I will wait for you so we can eat together.” Bai Yifeng pushed him out of the kitchen and took his place. Seeing he hesitate to leave, Bai Yifeng had to step forward, hold his shoulders, stand on his tiptoes, and kiss the corner of his mouth. He said crossly, “Why did you grow so tall!”
So, Fang Xu went to answer the phone happily.
“Good. It is fine as long as you can make time to come. The old man will be very pleased.” Fang Yang leaned back on the sofa while Ye Lang lay on his lap taking a nap. The sunlight at the ancestral home was not great, and Ye Lang had complained more than once, but Fang Yang insisted on sleeping here, so Ye Lang had to keep his mouth shut and cooperate.
He was looking for Fang Xu because the old man’s birthday banquet was approaching, which happened to clash with Fang Xu’s mission schedule. Fortunately, Fang Xu promised he would finish the mission as quickly as possible and return.
Fang Xu did not know that his brother had already learned of Bai Yifeng’s location from Ye Lang. Although he was curious why Fang Yang was no longer obsessing over the tracker, he did not ask. Neither brother mentioned Bai Yifeng. Listening on the side, Louis frowned slightly and glanced at Ye Lang, who was clearly not asleep.
Of the three people in the ancestral home, the butler appeared loyal but had actually changed masters. The master was two-faced and unpredictable, holding his fiancé in his arms while constantly thinking of the Beta he despised.
As for the fiancé?
Louis was certain that Ye Lang wished he could kill Bai Yifeng so that Fang Yang could forget him.
What a bizarre scene. Louis sighed inwardly. He stepped forward to pour a cup of tea for Fang Yang. Fang Yang had just hung up the call and said to Louis, “How is the investigation I asked you to do?”
“I imagine Mr. Ye knows more about it than I do.” Louis uncharacteristically did not answer the question directly, instead pointing the finger at Ye Lang. The latter, with eyes closed, stiffened. His shoulders were pinched twice, none too gently, by the Alpha. Fang Yang’s mirthless voice sounded from above: “Ye Lang, I know you are awake.”
Ye Lang kept his mouth tightly shut.
“I also know what you took.” Fang Yang let out a long breath. “You had better put it back where it belongs. Do you hear me? You do not want to know how I would punish you.”
“I understand.” Ye Lang slowly sat up and looked at Louis with resentment. The latter, however, lowered his head perfectly and followed Fang Yang as he stood up and went upstairs, completely ignoring his gaze.
Once the sound of a closing door echoed from upstairs, Ye Lang bit his lip and hesitated for a moment. Finally, he retrieved the hidden love letter from the storage room.
He did not know if the love letter was from Fang Yang to Bai Yifeng or from Bai Yifeng to Fang Yang, but it was an eyesore sitting in the room that would soon belong to him and Fang Yang.
Ye Lang thought Fang Yang would not notice, but he had not expected Louis to be the informant. He placed the love letter back on the bed, stared at the golden rose border for a long while, and finally left the room.
As soon as he walked out, he saw Louis standing nearby. Ye Lang was startled, only for Louis to point toward another direction. “Mr. Ye, the wedding room for you and the eldest young master has been arranged.”
“Wait,” Ye Lang stepped forward to stop him. “Should it not be here?”
“Mr. Ye, the eldest young master said that from today on, you are not allowed to approach this place again.” Louis kept his head down. “Please come with me now.”
Ye Lang ground his teeth until they nearly shattered, but he had to swallow his anger. In his heart, he cursed Bai Yifeng’s ancestors back eight generations, though the man in question was far too busy to pay him any mind.
“You have everything ready?” Bai Yifeng watched as Fang Xu put on all his gear at home, ready to set out at any moment. He himself was still in pajamas, sitting on a beanbag chair with a bag of unfinished blue potato chips in his arms. He felt a bit self-conscious and pulled up his collar to hide the hickey on his neck so Fang Xu’s teammates would not see it.
Fang Xu nodded to Bai Yifeng first, then kicked Fry and Luke respectively in the legs, whispering a threat: “Do not look.”
Fry swallowed hard, exerting great effort to pull his gaze away from Bai Yifeng. He whispered to Luke as if he had lost his soul, “Isn’t this his sister-in-law?”
Luke was even more shocked, standing frozen as if struck by lightning. Only his mouth could still move: “How should I know what is going on?”
The two of them finally understood why Fang Yang would allow their Colonel to find a Beta as a boyfriend.
It was because there was no extra Beta in the Fang family.
From beginning to end, it was the same person.
“Then, Brother Feng, I am leaving?” Fang Xu picked up his communicator and turned back like a puppy to look at Bai Yifeng, who was still sitting still. A flash of helplessness appeared in the latter’s eyes, and he beckoned to him: “Come here.”
Thus, Fry and Luke were forced to witness the spectacle of the Colonel and the Colonel’s sister-in-law kissing passionately for three minutes.
