The Villain Has A Yuri Halo [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 41
“Good evening, everyone. We have just received an urgent news update. The famous actress Li Ju has had an accident. She fell from a building and has been rushed to the hospital. We will continue to report on the situation as it develops.”
******
On her way home, Fang Wenxiu had turned on the radio to listen to music, but the radio host had suddenly interrupted with a news report, and the person in the report was Li Ju.
Fang Wenxiu immediately called her sister, but no one answered. Afraid to waste any time, she quickly called She Huan.
She Huan answered instantly, a hint of a smile in her voice. “Just got off work and you’re already calling?” She obviously didn’t know what had happened to Li Ju.
Fang Wenxiu said nervously, “Miss She, Miss Li fell from a building and was taken to the hospital. I can’t reach my sister, and I’m very worried about her. Can I take a few days off?”
She Huan shot up from her seat. She was shocked. “What?! Li Ju fell? Don’t go to North City alone. I’ll go with you.”
As Li Ju’s good friend, she was worried sick.
Fang Wenxiu immediately turned the car around to pick up She Huan. They had to get to North City as soon as possible.
At the same time, Sister Cai was even more frantic. She immediately ordered her staff to do everything they could to block all news about Long Jing’an’s. The news about Li Ju had already been leaked. They couldn’t let Long Jing’an’s whereabouts be known, or the public’s speculations would get out of hand!
Her phone kept ringing. Most of the calls were from people trying to get information about Li Ju. Sister Cai angrily set all her work phones on airplane mode and only kept her personal one open.
“Zhang, book me a flight to North City!”
Sister Cai slammed the office door shut. She had to see the CEO. This emergency had to be handled carefully.
The entire world seemed to have fallen into chaos. The sudden news about Li Ju’s fall had crashed social media. Fang Yihan’s phone was ringing off the hook, just like Sister Cai’s. Everyone who knew Li Ju was praying for her safety.
But Fang Yihan was stronger than anyone had expected. She stood by the operating room door, quietly waiting for news about Li Ju.
She wasn’t screaming in despair, nor was she crying hysterically.
She was calm, and her emotionless face made her almost unrecognizable.
Her eyes were puffy and sore from crying, and her lips were bitten and bruised. Fang Yihan numbly replayed the scene of Li Ju jumping from the building over and over again.
She hated Li Ju’s decision. There were so many other ways to deal with Long Jing’an, but that woman had still jumped just because of his threat.
What was Li Ju thinking?
Why didn’t she care about her own life?
Li Ju was right. She was a complete lunatic!
Fang Yihan wiped away her tears. In truth, she hated herself more. If she hadn’t known Long Jing’an, if she hadn’t opened that door. Everything would have been different. Li Ju wouldn’t be so weak, like a broken flower. She would be complaining about the hot pot.
Fang Yihan covered her face with her hands and leaned against the cold wall, slowly trying to process everything that had happened.
She was all alone. She was in so much pain.
“Yihan!”
Xiao Yajun ran over, breathless. Her assistant, Tan Xiaoxiao, was right behind her.
Fang Yihan’s voice was hoarse. “You came.”
Xiao Yajun looked at her with sympathy. She was also overwhelmed with grief.
Xiao Yajun patted her shoulder and said, “The hospital staff has gotten the people outside to leave. The director wanted me to tell you that he will help you with anything you need.”
Fang Yihan’s eyes were blank. She laughed bitterly. “Thank you. I just want Li Ju to be okay.”
It wasn’t a good time for Xiao Yajun to bring up the other person, but the situation was so serious. Xiao Yajun thought for a moment and said in a low voice, “The news about Long Jing’an hasn’t been leaked. I asked his manager, and it seems Li Ju’s manager, Sister Cai, is the one who blocked the news. The public only knows that Li Ju fell.”
A cold determination appeared in Fang Yihan’s eyes. Even a rabbit will bite when cornered. Fang Yihan was not a harmless rabbit.
“He’s a lunatic, and he got innocent people involved. He deserves to die!”
“How did Long Jing’an find your address?”
Fang Yihan shook her head, her voice hoarse. “I don’t know.”
Xiao Yajun couldn’t help but frown. She gave Tan Xiaoxiao a look, and her assistant immediately understood.
Xiao Yajun watched Tan Xiaoxiao leave. She looked at Fang Yihan and said with a hint of anger, “When your manager gets here, I want to see her reaction. If she still wants to keep that monster, you should leave her! With a menace like Long Jing’an around, you’re going to get into a lot of trouble.”
Fang Yihan couldn’t think about anything else. Her troubled look made Xiao Yajun sigh in sympathy.
Xiao Yajun didn’t leave. She found a bench and sat down, waiting for Li Ju.
She wasn’t on good terms with Li Ju and had always thought she could be a better female lead. But all that was in the past. Right now, Li Ju’s life was more important. She would stay to keep Fang Yihan company.
Fang Yihan kept her eyes on the operating room door. The anxiety in her heart felt like it would burn her alive.
‘She has to be okay!’
Fang Yihan prayed silently, and tears fell from her eyes again.
She couldn’t stop herself. She didn’t know what to do.
So, Li Ju had to live!
Time passed slowly. Every second was filled with pressure.
After what felt like forever, the door finally opened.
Nurses wheeled a bed out. Fang Yihan didn’t even stop to ask the doctor any questions. Her heart was already with Li Ju.
Fang Yihan bit her lip, and tears fell silently.
She had never seen Li Ju like this. She was so weak, like a gust of wind could end her life. Her pale face felt like a hammer hitting Fang Yihan’s heart.
A nurse saw Fang Yihan’s despair and said softly, “Li Ju is stable. She has injuries on her head and right leg, but she will recover quickly with rest.”
Fang Yihan’s eyes were filled with tears. “Are you… are you serious?”
The nurse comforted her. “Of course. I’m a fan of hers, and I was worried, too.”
Fang Yihan then noticed that the nurse’s eyes were red, too. The relief in her eyes made Fang Yihan cry tears of joy. “I’m so glad she’s okay.”
The nurse patted her on the shoulder and left with her colleagues.
Fang Yihan looked at the medical machines. Everything was normal. She quietly closed the door.
She knelt by the door, covering her face and sobbing. Xiao Yajun, who had just arrived, stopped her assistant, Tan Xiaoxiao. Xiao Yajun pursed her lips. When she found out Li Ju was okay, she gave a small smile. “Just let her cry it out. She was more worried than any of us.”
Tan Xiaoxiao nodded. “Sister, you stay here and keep them company. I’ll go get us some food.”
“Okay, go.”
The hospital hallway was long and bright. It was a holy place.
Xiao Yajun said gratefully, “I’m glad she’s okay. I’m still waiting to beat her in acting.”
******
The snow in North City seemed to sense the humans’ anxiety. It stopped and no longer blocking their path.
Sister Cai hadn’t slept at all. She rushed to the hospital. The first person she saw wasn’t Li Ju or Fang Yihan, but Long Jing’an’s assistant, who was waiting to apologize.
Sister Cai said with a cold face, “What’s done is done. Yelling at you won’t do anything. I know you’re innocent. But why didn’t you use your brain? Didn’t you notice Long Jing’an’s strange behavior? What kind of sane person would ask you to stake out a place for days?! If he really wanted to make things right with Li Ju, he could have just gone on a normal day! Why did he have to ask you to watch Li Ju and Fang Yihan?”
“Forget it.”
The assistant wanted to bury his head in the ground. He mumbled, “I was wrong, Sister Cai. I’ll apologize to Sister Ju when she wakes up.”
Sister Cai pinched her temples. “Just stay here and take care of Long Jing’an. When his parents get here, you can go back to the company.”
“Okay.”
Sister Cai waved him away and went to Li Ju’s room.
Her appearance startled Fang Yihan. Fang Yihan said guiltily, “I’m sorry, Sister Cai. I didn’t take good care of her.”
“Sigh, let’s not talk about it. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure Xiao Ju gets justice.”
“But Fang Yihan, you have to tell me the truth. What happened with Li Ju and Long Jing’an’s fall?”
Fang Yihan said calmly, “Have you seen Long Jing’an yet?”
She didn’t understand why Long Jing’an, whose injuries were more serious, was awake, but Li Ju still hadn’t woken up. It made her even more anxious. She hadn’t slept all night. She would get up every hour to check Li Ju’s vital signs. Only then could she be sure Li Ju was safe.
Sister Cai stared intently at Fang Yihan, not wanting to miss a single one of her expressions. She spoke calmly, “Long Jing’an told me on the phone that he would get into an accident because Li Ju jumped off the building first and then dragged him down with her.”
She offered the explanation, then immediately shook her head and chuckled dismissively. “Let’s not talk about this for now. Let’s put these things aside until Xiao Ju wakes up.”
For a moment, Sister Cai didn’t know whose words to believe. Perhaps pursuing the truth was pointless anyway, as Long Jing’an’s current predicament was entirely his own fault. He was the one who had first hurt Li Ju and held Fang Yihan hostage.
Fang Yihan remained composed. Everything that needed to be said was already said on the phone. No matter how Sister Cai handled things, she would never forgive Long Jing’an.
Her fingers instinctively touched the scar on her neck. Even now, speaking still caused her a flicker of pain.
Sister Cai softened her voice, asking with concern, “Did you get that treated?”
Fang Yihan nodded. “The nurse already put medicine on it.”
“Do you want to get some rest? You look terrible.”
Fang Yihan refused, her voice low with sadness. “I’m not in the mood to sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I just see the image of Li Ju when she was hurt.”
“Sigh, you two have been through so much. Honestly, I can’t understand why Long Jing’an did what he did. He always seemed so normal.”
The mere mention of his name made Fang Yihan feel a physical revulsion. She covered her mouth in discomfort. “Sister Cai, please don’t mention him again. It makes me sick.”
Seeing her reaction, Sister Cai quickly poured her a cup of warm water. She looked from the unconscious Li Ju to the pale-faced Fang Yihan on the bed, feeling both a pang of heartache and a growing resentment toward Long Jing’an. Look at the “good work” he’d done! Both of them were a mess!
“You need to take care of yourself. Don’t end up getting sick before Xiao Ju even wakes up.”
Fang Yihan’s gaze was complicated as she looked at Li Ju. Her voice was hoarse and tearful. “Sister Cai, this is all my fault.”
Sister Cai understood what she was trying to say, so she offered reassurance. “Don’t blame yourself. Xiao Ju has never once resented you for it.”
Just as the words left her lips, a sudden realization dawned on Sister Cai.
Though it might be uncouth to grumble about Li Ju at a time like this, Sister Cai couldn’t shake the feeling that Li Ju had fallen for someone else. Between Fang Yihan’s responses and Long Jing’an’s, she felt that neither of them was telling the whole truth. But that couldn’t change the fact that Li Ju had jumped off a building for Fang Yihan.
That was truly insane. It seemed there was a threshold for being consumed by love, and cowards simply didn’t make the cut.
Sister Cai spoke with a meaningful tone, “Yihan, you’re the only good kid left. Don’t you dare make me worry again.”
Fang Yihan pressed her lips together, lowering her eyes as she replied, “As long as she’s okay, I’ll be a good kid.”
Sister Cai clutched her chest, the pain overwhelming her as she glimpsed a dark and dismal future.
“I’ll be staying in the North City for a while. You’ll need to keep an eye on things for Xiao Ju. Her parents aren’t around, so you’re the only one who can help her.” Sister Cai gave Fang Yihan a few instructions before her weary body trudged back to the hotel for some much-needed sleep. She was getting old, no match for the frenzy of these young people. A nap would come first; everything else could wait.
The hospital room fell quiet again. Fang Yihan didn’t feel lonely; in fact, she cherished this space where it was just the two of them.
The profound affection in her eyes masked her exhaustion, as if Li Ju were the sole source of her will to live.
In the silent room, only the humming of the medical equipment could be heard. Fang Yihan kept a faithful vigil by Li Ju’s side.
******
Night slowly settled over the world, casting a beautiful glow on the pristine, un-melted snow.
The lights in the hospital room were adjusted to the most comfortable setting. Lying on the small bedside cot, Fang Yihan drowsily caught the faint scent of flowers. It was a peculiar fragrance—a subtle, elegant aroma that was incredibly captivating, able to burrow into her heart and paint the picture of a certain person.
Fang Yihan propped herself up. How could there be such a delightful scent in Beicheng in the dead of winter? She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Even now, her mind was replaying that kiss they had shared.
Unable to sleep because of the scent, Fang Yihan went over to Li Ju’s bed. She carefully touched Li Ju’s fingers and murmured, “Please wake up soon. I can’t live without you.”
Was it a psychic connection?
The unconscious woman heard the voice. She struggled to open her eyes, wanting to thank the person who had helped her. Thanks to their help, she could finally get rid of the two chattering voices that had been buzzing in her head.
The light in the room was gentle and not at all harsh, allowing Li Ju, who had been asleep for two days, to quickly adjust to her surroundings.
She turned her head to the side, and her charming, peachy eyes filled with a captivating spirit.
“Hello,” she said politely. “Can I know who you are?”
System 666: [Host!! You can’t do that!!]
King A’Ci: [Parasite, well done! You should try your best to flirt with Fang Yihan. Use your charms and get her in bed as soon as possible!]
Li Ju scrunched her face up in a pouting frown. So noisy, so messy, so annoying!
Inside the brightly lit hospital room, several doctors were gathered around Li Ju, checking her medical records. A doctor wearing glasses spoke up. “The human brain is a mysterious thing. This condition might be temporary. She might regain her memory after seeing something, or she might never get it back.”
Sister Cai, the agent, scowled, wishing she were the one with amnesia.
She looked at the beautiful woman sitting on the bed and at Fang Yihan, who was peeling a banana for her with her head down. “Can we talk in your office?” she asked the doctor.
“Of course.”
Li Ju took the banana and looked at Fang Yihan with pleading eyes. “Why does my agent look so distraught?”
Fang Yihan gently wiped Li Ju’s other hand. “Sister Cai is a really good person,” she said warmly. “She’s just worried about you.”
A’Ci: [Correct her, quick! You’re alone now, it’s your private time. Make her call you ‘master’!**]
System 666: [Host! Snap out of it!]
Li Ju tilted her head. The two voices were back again. Having grown accustomed to them, Li Ju found them quite amusing, especially when she didn’t follow their instructions and just did whatever she wanted. Their simultaneous shrieking brought her a wicked kind of pleasure.
Might as well have some fun since she had nothing else to do.
Still, Li Ju had figured out that they were useful. Thanks to their explanations, she was gradually getting to know the outside world.
After finishing the banana, she fixed her gaze on Fang Yihan. She smiled playfully. “Sister Cai is a good person. What about you? Are you a good person?”
A hint of sadness flickered in Fang Yihan’s expression. Li Ju’s memory loss meant all their wonderful memories were gone. She didn’t remember who she was, nor the snowflake earrings Fang Yihan had given her, nor that she had a touch of playful arrogance. She was like the cold and distant person Fang Yihan had met for the first time.
But Fang Yihan quickly snapped out of it. Li Ju was the one who had forgotten, not her. She could help her go back to the way she was before!
Fang Yihan pointed to her own nose. “Of course I’m a good person,” she said sweetly. “I’m the most important person to you. I have so many good qualities and I’m good at everything. I can cook, and I have a pretty face.”
Li Ju burst out laughing. “You? Good at everything? Who are you trying to fool?”
“I was a trainee, I learned to dance. Doesn’t that count as ‘good at everything?’ As for being a good cook, I’m a college graduate, so of course I am. I’m not lying to you.”
Fang Yihan’s self-praise made Li Ju ask, “But I’ve forgotten everything. How can you prove you’re so important to me?”
Her eyes were mischievous and bright. The playful look in her eyes had a touch of detached indifference. The exquisite features of her face no longer held the gentle warmth Fang Yihan was used to, and yet, everything from her every glance to her every smile was just as Fang Yihan remembered.
Fang Yihan felt a mix of bitterness and sweetness in her heart. But she wasn’t going to get discouraged! She had already won over the notoriously difficult Li Ju. After all, Fang Yihan still held a candle for that kiss.
Before, she had been hesitant. Because of that annoying man, she wasn’t sure if Li Ju was truly attracted to her.
But now, things were different. Without that pesky man in the way, she could shamelessly claim Li Ju for herself!
She boldly stood up and embraced the woman who had been teasing her.
Fang Yihan’s warm embrace made the smile on Li Ju’s face stiffen. Her eyes blinked in confusion.
System 666:
[Oh no, oh no, why is the female lead hugging the host! Nobody told me the host’s fragmented soul would cause amnesia! If she hadn’t lost her memory, none of this would be happening!]
[If I’d known that a parasite’s task would speed up the relationship, I would’ve urged her to die every day. It’s not like she’d actually die since I’m a parasite on her. Ah, what a huge loss!]
[Host, remember you’re the villain!]
A’Ci:
[Parasite, you’ve lost your memory, who cares about all that? This is a gift from fate for you to seize. You didn’t die after falling, so I have no use now. All I can do is cheer you on. Get the female lead already!]
Li Ju couldn’t be bothered to respond to System 666 or A’Ci. Fang Yihan had her ears covered with her hands after the hug. All she could do was try to read her lips in a daze.
‘I like you.’
‘The “you with amnesia”, or “the you from before”.’
‘You’ll always be the most special person to me.’
“What are you saying?”
Fang Yihan put her hands behind her back, running off after having her fun.
“I said I’m your master,” she said. “You can’t talk back to me. My words are decrees. I’m the most important person to you, and there’s no doubt about it. You’re supposed to hug me a lot every day, just like that!”
Fang Yihan tried to look calm, but her flushed face gave her away.
[It’s all fake! Host, remember your character, you’re the villain!]
[A hug? You two have already kissed. Parasite, you look so clueless.]
Villain and character, past and present.
Li Ju didn’t understand what they were saying.
Li Ju wasn’t one to overthink things or complicate a simple matter.
She didn’t trust anyone but her own gut feeling.
Her eyes gleamed with a mischievous charm. The beautiful, sickly Li Ju had shed her forceful arrogance. The vulnerable Li Ju was still just as captivating to Fang Yihan.
With a sly gaze, she grabbed Fang Yihan, whose cheeks were flushed. The strange voices hadn’t cluttered Li Ju’s mind with worries; instead, they made her certain that the bond they once had was unmatched.
Li Ju had never been one to lose. Getting hurt didn’t mean she was at a disadvantage.
She placed her hands on Fang Yihan’s shoulders, the pressure forcing Fang Yihan to bend over obediently.
In the next moment, she wrapped her arm around Fang Yihan’s neck, and her warm lips landed on her cheek.
Li Ju’s eyes were filled with a deeper meaning. “You can take advantage of me, Fang Yihan.”
“But only if you don’t blush.”
“Girls who blush get bullied by me.”
