The Villain Has A Yuri Halo [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 4
The office was quiet. All the other colleagues had gone to class, and Tang Qingqing was there alone. She was a little surprised that Tang Ruru would come up with such a terrible idea.
“Tang Qingqing, why aren’t you saying anything?”
She rested her chin in her hand, feeling lazy and uninterested. Tang Qingqing, cunningly, didn’t argue with Tang Ruru. “What do you want to do?” she asked.
Tang Ruru got into her car and used a tissue to wipe away the makeup that Li Ju had almost ruined. The jealousy in her heart made Tang Ruru look hideous. “I hope Li Ju falls hard, of course,” she said resentfully. “She acts so high and mighty around us, but to others, she’s just a clown. She thinks she can get everything just because she has money. Well, I think there are people who look down on her family background!”
Tang Qingqing had long known that it was difficult to communicate with Tang Ruru because she always said things Tang Qingqing couldn’t understand.
She remained silent. Tang Ruru was used to her personality and didn’t expect a response, so she continued to complain. “I just happened to find something on her. Our invincible Miss Li Ju can be a ‘dog’ in front of the person she likes. Can you imagine that? It’s hilarious. And the man looks like a poor kid from the way he dresses. Auntie will never accept him. You’ll come with me to tell her, and we’ll describe Li Ju as a sycophant. Auntie, who cares so much about her reputation, will definitely blow up!”
She knew Li Ju was different from her. Li Ju had the perfect life—she was rich, an only child, and her career was going smoothly. As for her? The money she worked hard to earn still had to go toward helping her family, all because her parents and older brother were so unreliable.
She wished Li Ju’s life would become a stinking, dirty mess.
Tang Ruru babbled on about her plan to scheme against Li Ju. Meanwhile, Tang Qingqing pulled a white rose out of the vase, her fingers firmly pinching the petals. The indentations left on the soft petals were a representation of Tang Qingqing’s inner turmoil.
She curled her lips and asked in a gentle, slow voice, “The man is a poor boy?”
“Yeah. Not a single piece of his clothing is from a brand. He’s only a little bit handsome. He looks pretty young, too. Li Ju is so shallow. To think she’d go for a university student. What if he’s a gold digger? That’s so amusing.”
Tang Qingqing lowered her eyes, hiding the emotions in them. She looked lovingly at the white rose she had bruised, a faint smile on her face. “Is that so? It does sound quite interesting.”
“What are you thinking? As long as we both show up, Li Ju won’t stand a chance. After all, Auntie favors us.”
Tang Ruru’s resentment was gone, replaced by a proud and lively expression. The thought of the relationship between Li Ju and Tang Ping made her feel a surge of inner glee.
Tang Qingqing played with the delicate, bruised rose. “What’s the point of just telling on her?” she said calmly. “Don’t you have a lot of connections? Have someone find out who that man is. With documentation as evidence, we can convince Mom.”
Tang Ruru didn’t realize she was being used. “You’re right!” she said excitedly. “Why didn’t I think of that? You can’t just talk. Finding evidence is the trump card! Tang Qingqing, I knew I was right about you. You’re even more ruthless than I am.”
Tang Qingqing’s smile was full of mockery. It’s a good thing I’m smarter than Tang Ruru, or my life would be ruined.
“Let’s leave it at that for now. We can talk when you have a lead.”
Tang Ruru nodded subconsciously, the dynamic of their conversation subtly shifting. “Okay, I’ll contact you as soon as I have news. Just wait for my good news.”
Tang Qingqing ended the call and looked at the rose she had almost crushed into a pulp in her palm. She brought it to her nose to smell it, but the faint scent couldn’t calm her frustration. “I wish you were like this rose, so I could do whatever I wanted with you,” she whispered.
As she spoke, her calm eyes grew cold, and a subtle crack appeared in her elegant facade.
Someone entered the office and saw Tang Qingqing throw the bouquet of white roses into the trash can.
A colleague asked, confused, “Qingqing, I thought you liked white roses?”
Tang Qingqing looked down at the flowers scattered in the trash. “I’ve never liked white roses,” she said slowly. “Someone once said that I was a good match for them, so I thought it would be nice to buy a bouquet every day to put on my desk.”
She tucked a strand of black hair behind her ear with a fair-skinned finger. She looked as though she was seeing someone through the flowers, and her lips curled up. “But now I’m angry. Seeing white roses makes me a little annoyed.”
Her colleague didn’t think much of what she said, only that Tang Qingqing was acting a little strange. She couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong, but her gut feeling told her to leave the office.
She grabbed her teaching materials and said without changing her expression, “It’s just a bouquet of flowers. If you don’t like it, throw it away. I’ve got to get back to class.”
The colleague closed the door firmly. As she walked, she wondered what kind of person could make Tang Qingqing, a woman as beautiful as a mountain flower, so mad. How impressive!
Tang Qingqing repeated her colleague’s words blankly. “‘If you don’t like it, throw it away.’ Does that mean Xiao Ju will do the same to me, since she doesn’t like me?”
No, that’s not right.
I’m the person Xiao Ju dislikes the most, so I must be special, right?
She sat in her office chair, lost in thought, her mind a mess without a way to sort through it.
The evening glow filled half the sky. She, who had almost turned into a statue, took the initiative to call Li Ju.
She waited and waited, and then the call was answered. Li Ju’s voice was the same as always, a little impatient.
“What is it? You’re a Chinese painting teacher. Why are you calling me instead of teaching?”
“I don’t have class today,” Tang Qingqing said, sounding a little wronged.
Li Ju said without a second thought, “Oh, no class? Then it must be Friday.”
Tang Qingqing’s face broke into a happy smile at that casual remark. “Xiao Ju remembers.”
Li Ju said helplessly, “Did you forget? Once, I asked you to take a day off to help me at my company, and you told me you didn’t have class on Friday afternoons. I almost considered having you work for me every Friday.”
Tang Qingqing sat up straight. I missed out on a great opportunity!
“You’re getting off topic. Why did you call me?”
Tang Qingqing asked, “I wanted to know if you wanted to have dinner together tonight, Xiao Ju.”
“No, I’m too busy. No time to eat.”
Li Ju heard her sigh and, as she rolled the corner of a design draft, said, “What are you sighing about? You should be grateful I even answered your call! Don’t even think about making me feel guilty. It’s not going to happen. Never. Goodbye, little dog!”
Tang Qingqing looked at her now-silent phone and couldn’t help but laugh. She buried her face in her arms. It was amazing; all her frustration just disappeared.
“Teacher Tang, it’s nice to not have class on Fridays. You get to leave early,” a colleague said enviously, watching Tang Qingqing pack her things.
Tang Qingqing said thoughtfully, “I won’t be staying with you all today. I need to go back early for something.”
“What is it? You look so happy,” her colleague teased.
“Someone is hungry. I’m going to go check on her.”
Tang Qingqing’s figure was slender and tall. The simple cardigan she wore didn’t make her look bulky, but rather gave her a gentle, effortless grace.
But her good mood didn’t last long. As soon as she left the office building, someone blocked her path. Tang Qingqing’s calm eyes, like the cold ice of winter, looked at the man’s annoying arm. She pursed her lips and didn’t speak.
“Teacher Tang!”
The man was handsome and youthful, the kind who could easily win people over. He was very young. It had been a year since he graduated from college, and he had not yet been tempered by the cruelty of society. Gao Sheng still had a vibrant youthful energy.
In the past, Tang Qingqing might have given Gao Sheng a pleasant look, but she looked at his outfit and his boyish face. The two details made her remember what Tang Ruru had said on the phone.
Tang Qingqing stepped around Gao Sheng. Her aloof and distant attitude was more shocking to him than a thousand insults. She sped up her pace, her ankle-length skirt swaying with her movements. The red string wrapped around her ankle looked a little sexy.
Gao Sheng scratched his cheek, looking lost. His friend, who had been watching the whole thing, walked over and patted him on the shoulder. “What’s the point of this?” he said sincerely. “You don’t like the passionate Miss Li Ju, but you like this cold beauty. Are you a masochist or something? You don’t want the easy one; you have to pick the hard one.”
“Don’t talk nonsense. Miss Li and I are just friends!” His friend Zhao Zhang was his business partner. The two of them were working together to build their careers, so he knew a lot about Gao Sheng’s situation.
Zhao Zhang clicked his tongue and whispered earnestly, “If you weren’t my buddy, do you think I’d try to talk you out of it? If it were someone else, I’d have tried to steal her long ago. What kind of person is Li Ju? Don’t you know better than me? Marrying her and reaching the peak of your life isn’t a dream. Just endure it for a few years, and when she gets old and your position is stable, what kind of beautiful woman can’t you get? Dude, it’s a shortcut to a great life. Take it! It’s not embarrassing to make money from a sugar mommy.”
Gao Sheng pushed Zhao Zhang’s arm away. He warned Zhao Zhang, “Don’t say that again. It’s fine if you insult me, but don’t insult Miss Li. Without her, our company wouldn’t be able to run! She’s a good investor, not a shortcut!”
Zhao Zhang was speechless. He rolled his eyes and said, “Let’s see if you can say something so righteous in a few years.”
“Okay, enough about my personal life. I’ve already talked to the school’s head. Our company’s products will be used by the students next month. We can’t mess this up. As long as our products are good, the rest of the plan will go smoothly.”
“Yeah, I already made a reservation with the head. We’ll go have dinner together to network.”
“Same old rules. I’ll drive, you drink.”
Zhao Zhang put his hands in his pockets in disgust. “Now you know I’m a good friend, don’t you?”
They looked at each other and smiled, both with high hopes for the future.
*******
Li Ju’s personal brand was well-known in the industry, and her company was expanding. Tang Qingqing admired the company’s design as she waited for the front desk to finish a call with Li Ju’s assistant. Tang Qingqing saw the assistant look in her direction and then say, “Not that Miss Tang, the other one. Her name is Tang Qingqing.”
The assistant rubbed his temples. Ah, Tang Qingqing. I know her.
Thinking of Tang Qingqing’s personality, the assistant let out a sigh of relief. As long as it wasn’t the other Miss Tang, everything would be fine.
A moment later, the desk phone rang.
“The assistant will be here to get Miss Tang right away,” the front desk said.
“Okay, thank you.”
This was Tang Qingqing’s first time at Li Ju’s company. She was a little nervous, worried that her unannounced visit would make Li Ju angry. But she didn’t regret it. Tang Ruru’s words had given her a warning.
She had become used to having Li Ju in her life every day. If Li Ju moved out of the house and left her for someone else, Tang Qingqing couldn’t accept it.
“Please,” the assistant said, opening the office door for Tang Qingqing. He didn’t dare to linger and quickly left.
Li Ju sat in her office chair, her hands in her pockets. Her expression was arrogant, but there was a hint of curiosity in her lively eyes.
“So you’re growing wings? I already made it clear on the phone. Why are you here?”
Tang Qingqing didn’t rush to explain. She walked over to the desk and saw Li Ju’s scattered design drafts. She naturally began to organize them for her. She knew Li Ju’s habits and quickly sorted the papers by their numbers.
Li Ju raised an eyebrow. “Working for free? You’re a natural-born worker,” she said teasingly.
Just then, Tang Qingqing took out the food she had made from her insulated bag. Her beautiful eyes curved into a smile. “You must be hungry after a long day,” she said.
In that instant, Li Ju’s eyes widened. She blinked frantically, and a blush crept up her cheeks.
A beautiful and gentle woman—no one could resist that.
Tang Qingqing’s eyes were like a clear mirror, reflecting everything Li Ju had done, but she didn’t mind. She continued to show her beautiful, soft side.
Suddenly, Li Ju stood up. “What’s wrong?” Tang Qingqing asked with a smile.
Li Ju silently put the food back in the bag and picked it up. “I’m not so stingy that I would let you starve while you watch me eat,” she replied.
She walked a few steps and found that Tang Qingqing hadn’t followed. Li Ju frowned. “Are you deaf?”
Tang Qingqing hid the mischievous look in her eyes and smiled softly. “I know,” she said.
Xiao Ju is really good to me.
She had already said those words before.
