The Villain Has A Yuri Halo [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 3
The woman’s look of flustered indignation was, to Tang Qingqing, a captivating and alluring sight. Her accusing eyes held a hint of annoyance. Tang Qingqing’s uncharacteristically forceful demeanor unsettled Li Ju, who felt a massive shift in their dynamic, as if she had suddenly been put on the back foot.
Li Ju, a bit disgruntled, pushed Tang Qingqing away, restoring the familiar distance between them.
Tang Qingqing leaned against the doorframe, her face wreathed in a soft, harmless smile. She seemed to be the innocent one, not the person who had just used her voice to seduce Li Ju.
“Xiao Ju, are you mad?”
“Are you a pervert? Do you have to get this close to talk to me?” Li Ju rubbed her ear, glaring at Tang Qingqing in bewilderment. She’s really getting out of hand! I need to scold her a few more times to teach her a lesson.
Tang Qingqing chuckled softly. “How could I be a pervert?” she said lazily.
Li Ju replied with a sarcastic tone, “I don’t care what you are. Just keep your distance from now on, or else…”
Tang Qingqing gazed at her intently, leaning in to ask, “Or else what?”
Without a change in her expression, Li Ju adopted a cool, aloof stance and grabbed Tang Qingqing’s collar. “I don’t like disobedient dogs,” she said flatly. “I have a terrible temper. If you make me angry, you’ll be the one who suffers, won’t you?”
The smooth collar of the shirt was now wrinkled from her grip. Tang Qingqing lowered her eyes to the sight of Li Ju’s pale, strong fingers—slender and long, with soft, supple skin that must feel exquisite to the touch.
“Yes, I understand,” Tang Qingqing replied obediently. “Of course, I’ll listen to Xiao Ju.”
Li Ju nodded in satisfaction and let go of Tang Qingqing. The next second, Tang Qingqing unbuttoned her shirt, revealing her fair skin and clavicle. She tugged at her collar, offering her long, graceful neck to Li Ju. “If I don’t listen to you, Xiao Ju,” she said, her red lips parting, “you can punish me by choking me. Would that be alright?”
Li Ju stared at her in silence before letting out a mocking laugh. “That’s not a punishment,” she scoffed. “You’re just asking for a reward.”
Tang Qingqing furrowed her brow innocently. “Oh dear,” she said wistfully. “Xiao Ju caught me.”
Li Ju pointed a finger toward the door, her gesture speaking louder than words.
Tang Qingqing raised her hands in surrender. “I’ll get out now.”
Li Ju hummed a lazy tune, not bothering to utter a single word to Tang Qingqing. But no sooner had the woman left than she returned.
“What do you want now?” Li Ju said, feeling exasperated. I should never have opened that door in the first place. What a disaster.
Tang Qingqing offered a gentle smile. “I’m not in a relationship.” With that, she hurried downstairs as if a mad dog were chasing her, not daring to linger for a second.
Li Ju was stunned for a moment, then let out a helpless laugh. “She’s so strange. There’s not a normal person in this house.”
She lost the desire to get fruit. She closed the door and collapsed onto her bed. Her long hair fanned out, covering her face. As soon as she closed her eyes, images of Tang Qingqing appeared in her mind.
Tang Qingqing had been so compliant, with not a trace of fear in her eyes. She trusted Li Ju completely. No matter what Li Ju did, it wouldn’t change Tang Qingqing’s desire to reveal her vulnerabilities to her.
Li Ju’s eyes suddenly snapped open. She sat up, gritting her teeth. “I knew Tang Qingqing was a pervert. She must have had the time of her life just now!”
Tang Qingqing was indeed in a great mood. She hummed a little tune as she went back into the kitchen to keep the housekeeper company.
The housekeeper smiled fondly. “What were you and Miss Li talking about? You seem so happy.”
Tang Qingqing answered with a question. “Is it that obvious?”
The housekeeper smiled silently, answering her with a look.
After a moment of thought, Tang Qingqing explained, “It’s not that I’m so happy, but I’m content just being able to talk to Xiao Ju.”
She rubbed the red string on her wrist with her fingertips, her lips curving into a thoughtful smile. Xiao Ju provoked me, so of course, I had to get a little something in return. Smelling her hair, moving in closer to her—those are my demands on Xiao Ju. So yes, my mood has certainly improved.
The housekeeper teased, “If I had to describe your relationship, I’d say it’s like two halves of a perfect match—one is willing to hit, the other is willing to be hit. I’m too old to understand you young people. I thought you would be angry about all the trouble Miss Li has put you through all these years.”
Tang Qingqing simply said, “Xiao Ju is very good to me.”
This wasn’t the first time Tang Qingqing had said that. It wasn’t a casual platitude; it was her true feeling.
******
Even with their parents away, the two of them had a rich and plentiful dinner. As Tang Qingqing picked up a dish, she glanced at Li Ju and couldn’t help but smile.
“Keep looking and I’ll gouge out your eyes.” She didn’t have to guess who said that.
Tang Qingqing asked gently, “Did our mother make you mad again?”
Li Ju lost her appetite. She shot Tang Qingqing a look. “It’s your mother, not ours!”
“Alright, so what did she do to upset you?”
Li Ju ate a shrimp and explained in a few words, “Tang Ruru came to me and acted like a jerk. She wants me to design a gown for her for an awards ceremony coming up. With her pathetic acting skills, she wants to win an award? Not unless the judges are all blind.”
Tang Ruru was the daughter of Tang Ping’s older brother. She had been spoiled since she was little, with everyone hoping she’d marry into a wealthy family. But she wasn’t very smart and hadn’t managed to catch a single one. Later, the Tang family used their connections to get her into an entertainment company. With some backing, Tang Ruru’s resources never dried up, and she used her better family background to boss other actresses around. Some people fell for her act. After a few years, Tang Ruru became a popular star in the entertainment industry.
Tang Qingqing frowned, her expression barely visible. “Mom is truly confused.”
Li Ju didn’t care at all, and she laughed mockingly. “In Mrs. Tang’s heart, her brother is second, and Tang Ruru is third. As for the first place, that’s definitely her. Your position is better than mine; you can probably rank fourth.”
Because Tang Ruru was ranked so high in their mother’s mind, when she pushed Li Ju into the pond, Tang Ping had foolishly tried to play it off. If Li Ju hadn’t cried to her father, Tang Ping probably would have kept Tang Ruru in the house. Since that incident, Li Ju and Tang Ping had completely fallen out.
“In my heart, Xiao Ju will always be number one.”
Li Ju nearly choked on her food. She looked at Tang Qingqing, her expression full of things left unsaid. “I’ve bullied you since we were kids. Do you think I’d believe a word of that? Tang Qingqing, stop lying to people. Not everyone is as nice as me and will be honest with you.”
Tang Qingqing bit her chopsticks, her sorrowful look making Li Ju feel uneasy.
Li Ju didn’t know why, but seeing Tang Qingqing’s expression made her feel uncomfortable all over. She put down her chopsticks and said to Tang Qingqing, “I’m full. You can take your time.”
She turned and ran off. Tang Qingqing, with no appetite, listlessly poked the rice in her bowl with a chopstick.
“In this world, no one believes you when you tell the truth anymore.”
She ate Li Ju’s food, drank her drinks, and lived in her house. Li Ju was the one who had always been there for her. The woman who was her foster mother had only offered her scolding and pressure. Tang Ping was not like a mother at all but more like a debt collector. But Tang Qingqing couldn’t fight back; the favor of being adopted was enough to crush her. That’s why Tang Qingqing envied Li Ju’s recklessness and willfulness. It was a kind of vibrant freedom, a side of herself Tang Qingqing longed to cultivate.
Tang Qingqing let out a worried sigh. Sitting alone at the dining table, she felt lonely and dispirited.
Then, a spoiled, imperious voice came from the third floor. Tang Qingqing’s eyes lit up as she looked toward it.
Li Ju was lying bored on the railing, her furrowed brow looking charming. “Are you done eating?” she asked impatiently. “If you are, hurry up and get up here. I need a model. You have some looks, so I’m sure you can pull off my unfinished designs. What are you standing around for? You want me to come down and get you?”
Tang Qingqing smiled brightly, and she replied, “Coming!”
See? Whenever she longed for warmth, Li Ju was there for her. What a perfect kind of unspoken understanding.
*******
“Miss Tang, you can’t come in here!”
“I’ll have you know, the Li Ju in that office is my cousin! Why can’t I go in?” Tang Ruru took off her sunglasses and threw them at the assistant’s chest, her demeanor arrogant and imperious. She was attractive and had some acting skills, so she was fairly popular. But her bad temper had ruined a lot of things, and even after a few years in the industry, she still hadn’t landed a role in a serious drama. She had come to Li Ju to get a gown to dazzle everyone at the awards ceremony, hoping to get noticed by some famous directors. Once she had a serious drama on her resume, her career would take off.
Tang Ruru’s voice was sharp and unpleasant. Li Ju snapped the tip off her design pencil, her face was cold as she stepped out to face her.
“Ah! My face!”
Splash!!!
The hot tea was splashed onto Tang Ruru’s face, and Li Ju showed no mercy. She laughed coldly. “What’s the shouting for? Do you want me to call a few paparazzi for you?”
“Li Ju! What are you doing! I’m your cousin!”
Li Ju swept her gaze around, and the people who wanted to watch the show timidly retreated. The assistant said apologetically, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t stop Miss Tang.”
“It’s not your fault. She’s just a mad dog. You can go back to work.”
Li Ju looked at the furious Tang Ruru and raised an eyebrow. “Are you calm now? If so, get inside.”
She moved with an elegant and beautiful gait. Tang Ruru stared at her back, regretting that she hadn’t drowned her in the pond all those years ago.
She slammed the door shut. When she saw Li Ju still had the leisure to drink tea, her face turned even darker. Thankfully, her makeup was waterproof, or it would have been ruined.
“Blood is thicker than water. We’re cousins, after all. If you help me this time, I’ll definitely remember you.”
Li Ju turned around, a hint of a smile on her face. “But I don’t want to deal with your family. One fool in the house is enough. If I had to deal with you, too, I think I’d die of anger. I’d rather your family members be full of evil plots, but unfortunately, all of you are just fools. You offended me before, and now that you need me, you’re trying to pull the family card. Tang Ruru, you’re truly stupid.”
Tang Ruru’s face was pale. She ground her molars. Her pride wouldn’t let her bow her head to Li Ju. “If you hadn’t put in a word, how could I not even get to borrow a single high-end dress?” Tang Ruru said with resentment.
Li Ju shrugged, a cheerful smile on her face. “Then buy one.”
“I…”
Li Ju twisted the knife. “Oh, my apologies. I almost forgot that your family’s company is in the red again, and all of your money has been used to fill the hole. Sorry, I forgot you can’t afford it.”
Li Ju was intentionally trying to get under Tang Ruru’s skin. Tang Ruru could technically afford it, but with Li Ju’s influence and connections, even if she wanted to buy a dress, no one would sell it to her. That was Li Ju’s power.
“Don’t go too far!”
“Bye, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
Li Ju sipped her tea leisurely. If looks could kill, Li Ju would be dead.
“You think I came here unprepared?”
Li Ju glanced at her indifferently. Tang Ruru smiled triumphantly. “If my aunt finds out you’ve been secretly caring for some penniless boy, do you think she’ll get mad? Stop pretending. You act like you don’t want a mother’s love, but you secretly wish my aunt would love you, don’t you? Why else would you constantly target Tang Qingqing, the one who stole your affection?”
Li Ju took a sip of tea and shook her head regretfully. Then came the same old routine again. Tang Ruru screamed, holding her head.
Tang Ruru pointed at Li Ju, her voice filled with rage. “Fine, Li Ju, you’ve got guts! I’m naturally beautiful; I’d look amazing even in a potato sack, so I won’t borrow a single high-end item! And you, you can just wait for my aunt to scold you!”
The poor office door was slammed shut again. Li Ju rolled her eyes. “Why didn’t I use hot water? What a shame.”
Tang Ruru’s distraught appearance startled her assistant. After yelling at her, she put on her hat and mask, and prepared to take the elevator down.
She had no intention of letting Li Ju off the hook, but she needed an ally. Tang Ruru made a phone call, but the other person didn’t answer right away. On the third try, the call was finally answered.
She said with a choked voice, “Tang Qingqing, do you really think you’re some rich young lady now? Why aren’t you answering my calls! Let me tell you, I have a great opportunity to get revenge on Li Ju, right here and now. Do you want to team up with me?”
“I know you hate her, and you despise her, so working together will be a win-win for us.”
Tang Qingqing’s elegant brows were now set in an expression of detached coolness, her delicate face caressed by a few strands of stray hair. She was graceful and serene, and her lips curled up slightly.
She thought to herself, You don’t know a thing.
