- Chapter 17 - What Should I Do If My Wife Loves Me Too Much? (Part 17)
On the third day, after some minor organizing, Bai Jun packed her few belongings and moved into the floor below Lin Song’s. Sister Zhang moved in as well.
Xu Tu still came over every day, driving Bai Jun to the villa to observe the construction progress. Now that they were closer to the company, Lin Song returned home more frequently, even making it a point to drop by just to see Bai Jun during meal times.
While Bai Jun claimed she didn’t want Lin Song to overwork herself and that she should rest more, in her heart, she was secretly delighted by Lin Song’s actions. She truly loved the feeling of being held so dearly in Lin Song’s heart.
In her mother’s heart, her father was number one. In her grandfather’s heart, the company was number one. But in Lin Song’s heart, she was the undisputed number one. This realization was addictive to Bai Jun. No wonder everyone wanted to get married; anyone would be dazed by a wife like this!
However, despite Lin Song’s best efforts to hide it, she seemed to be facing some thorny issues at work. Even though she showed no signs of anything unusual when facing Bai Jun, her overtime became more frequent, and her arrival time at home began to get late again.
“I understand your meaning, and that is indeed the best way to handle it, but she wouldn’t want to do that. I cannot ignore her wishes, so let’s not mention this matter again.”
Bai Jun once overheard Lin Song on the phone with someone else, her tone unusually stern and firm. Noticing Bai Jun’s gaze, Lin Song immediately hung up.
“Did you encounter something difficult?” While lying in bed that night, Bai Jun sighed and couldn’t help but speak up. She instinctively felt that the “she” Lin Song mentioned referred to herself.
Although she didn’t have the formal memories of handling company affairs yet, her mother had instilled many business principles in her. Bai Jun tried to utilize her past knowledge to comfort Lin Song.
“Behind us is a company and the interests of thousands of families. It’s impossible to satisfy everyone. As long as the interests of the majority are balanced, it’s a success.”
“So, if you feel that what you are doing is right, you don’t need to worry about my thoughts. Just go ahead and do it boldly.”
Bai Jun racked her brain to continue thinking of comforting words, but Lin Song reached out and hugged her, burying her head in Bai Jun’s neck.
“I understand the principles, but currently, I only want to protect Junjun and do things that make Junjun happy.”
“If Junjun isn’t happy, then everything loses its meaning.”
Bai Jun’s face gradually turned red. She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t focus her mind at all. Lin Song began “nibbling” on her again, with dense kisses traveling all the way up from her neck, scalding and intense.
Every time Lin Song kissed her, it reminded Bai Jun of what Lin Song had said when she was drunk. She said she was a vicious dog. Only at times like this did Bai Jun experience the embodiment of those words; she was like the favorite food on Lin Song’s plate.
“Junjun, let me kiss you properly,” Lin Song panted against her forehead. “Believe me, everything will be handled well.”
A group of incredibly intense fires ignited in Lin Song’s eyes once more. Although she was actually very worried, Bai Jun thought of the long string of numbers in her bank account—if Lin Song got into trouble, she could use her financial power to help. Bai Jun gave a soft “mm,” closed her eyes with a red face, and let her body soften.
She wasn’t afraid of Lin Song like this. As a considerate CEO, she simply wanted to soothe her anxious wife.
But unlike her own clumsiness, her wife’s kissing skills were improving more and more, and she was becoming increasingly bold. She even grabbed Bai Jun’s hand and placed it…
Bai Jun had been too shy to let her touch her before, so Lin Song didn’t touch her, but instead grabbed Bai Jun’s hand and made Bai Jun touch her. Bai Jun pulled her hand back as if she had been electrocuted.
“You, you!” Bai Jun’s face was flushed red, but she couldn’t find the words to condemn her because she couldn’t lie to herself; she indeed craved Lin Song’s body. She had peeked before—Lin Song actually had abdominal lines!
Facing Lin Song’s beautiful face, which was so tender it seemed it could drip water, Bai Jun’s face grew redder. Finally, she came up with a fitting excuse.
“How did your kissing skills improve so fast!” She condemned Lin Song with a show of strength while feeling weak inside. “Did you secretly take a course?”
Lin Song seemed stunned for a moment, then burst into a low laugh after reacting, directly admitting it.
“Yes, I took a course.”
“Does Junjun want to take a look too?”
Dammit, it was that kind of smile again, as if she had seen through everything. Bai Jun tried to act angry, glaring at her. “You, how can you secretly look at such materials? I’m confiscating them!”
“Okay,” Lin Song agreed immediately with a smile. “I’ll send all the materials to you tomorrow for destruction.”
She seemed to be trying to stifle a laugh, but she wasn’t successful; her entire chest was vibrating violently. Despite getting the materials she wanted, Bai Jun was still irritated that Lin Song was laughing at her. She couldn’t help but lean in and take a bite of Lin Song’s chin.
She controlled her strength and didn’t bite too hard, leaving no mark, as she didn’t want to bully her little wife. But Lin Song’s temper flared, and she was incredibly petty. She was also stronger than Bai Jun. Bai Jun struggled a few times but couldn’t break free, and eventually lost herself in Lin Song’s coaxing, allowing Lin Song to do as she pleased.
When she woke up the next day, Bai Jun’s lips were still swollen. This was definitely because she hadn’t been working out lately! She was very indignant and decided not to pay attention to Lin Song for half a day, but after half a day of not seeing her, she started missing her again.
Didn’t that careless woman, Lin Song, notice she was sleeping with her back turned and was angry when she woke up this morning? Forget it, she was a wealthy CEO and wouldn’t lower herself to Lin Song’s level. Maybe she should just forgive her this once?
But she really felt unwilling in her heart. Just then, another message from Lin Song came through.
【I’m sorry, Wifey.】 (Emote of a little person spinning in circles)
【I lost control of myself again last night.】 (Emote of a little person with its head drooping)
A trace of a smile couldn’t help but appear in Bai Jun’s eyes, and then she saw Lin Song send several documents all at once.
【This is what you need, Wifey. I am handing all of it over to you.】
The titles of those documents read “Action Guide,” “Theoretical Knowledge,” “Practical Exercises”… they were ordinary names, but because of Lin Song’s words, they carried a strange meaning.
After thinking for a long time, Bai Jun replied coldly:
【Don’t let it happen again. You have to treat me to something delicious.】
As she spoke, she added as a cover-up:
【I’m going to rest now. Let’s stop chatting for now.】
After saying that, Bai Jun opened a document with a red face. Fortunately, it wasn’t real people as she had imagined, but rather hand-drawn illustrations and text. Still, it was enough to make Bai Jun’s face flush.
Is this actually possible?
As Bai Jun stared at the various positions demonstrated by the cartoon figures, she desperately wanted to close the document. However, remembering the expectation in Lin Song’s eyes, she gritted her teeth and forced herself to keep reading.
When Xu Tu arrived, she found a Bai Jun whose cheeks were flushed bright red and whose eyes were darting around shiftily.
“President Bai, is something on your mind?”
After checking the construction progress at the villa and thinking about everything everyone was hiding from Bai Jun, Xu Tu gripped the steering wheel and couldn’t help but ask.
“No… nothing,” Bai Jun denied immediately, though her eyes continued to wander.
Xu Tu pursed her lips. She knew that her first priority should be to report this situation to Lin Song. But thinking about how Lin Song had taken advantage of the situation to move in…
Xu Tu bit her lip, and before she realized it, the words had already left her mouth.
“President Bai, let me take you out to clear your head.”
Bai Jun froze for a moment, then her eyes widened with joy. “I want to go buy a few sets of clothes, is that okay?”
Xu Tu’s eyes flickered. Meeting the excitement in Bai Jun’s gaze, she nodded anyway.
Xu Tu kept face masks in her car at all times. Once the plan was set, she treated it with the utmost seriousness, making sure Bai Jun wore her mask properly. Even though they were in a busy downtown area and it seemed unlikely that anyone trying to harm her would dare act openly here, Bai Jun still kept the mask on.
The mall was relatively empty on a weekday. Once inside, Bai Jun found everything fascinating. When she spotted beautiful plushies in a toy store, she could hardly pull herself away.
She was always good at taking a mile when given an inch. Sensing that Xu Tu wasn’t as strictly guarded as Lin Song or Aunt Feng, she looked at her expectantly.
“Can I go in and take a look?”
As expected, Xu Tu did not refuse.
Bai Jun bought a large pile of plushies, picking the most beautiful one to give to Lin Song. As she turned around, she spotted a perfume shop belonging to her own brand. While other nearby stores had at least a few customers, this shop appeared to have none at all.
A hint of panic flashed in Xu Tu’s eyes as she tried to stop her, but Bai Jun had already walked into the store. Xu Tu froze, frowned, and quickly dialed Lin Song’s number.
The store clerks were listless and chatting among themselves.
“These new perfumes are just too mediocre. They’re several levels below our previous ones; no wonder the customers don’t like them.”
“Don’t say it. Even if the person previously in charge of R&D had a questionable character, she was a true genius when it came to fragrance. Back then, even with so many people boycotting her, her new scents were still snatched up instantly…”
Bai Jun wanted to listen a bit longer, but once they noticed her entering, the clerks stopped talking and greeted her enthusiastically.
“Miss, what kind of scent do you prefer?”
Before Bai Jun could speak, Xu Tu stepped forward.
“Everyone, this is President Bai Jun. She is just taking a casual look, so there’s no need for a fuss.” Xu Tu pulled out her work ID.
If Xu Tu hadn’t spoken, no one would have actually recognized Bai Jun. But after the introduction, the way the surrounding people looked at her changed instantly. Bai Jun couldn’t help but feel that Xu Tu had done it on purpose. But what was her motive?
There was no time to ponder that now. With her identity revealed, she could only tensely play the role of her 27-year-old self. She lifted her head, pretending to be on an inspection, and sampled the new perfumes the clerks had mentioned.
The clerks weren’t wrong. These perfumes used ordinary ingredients and had very short staying power. Calling them “mediocre” was a compliment; they could arguably be called a low-end product line.
Bai Jun’s mood suddenly became complex. After leaving the store, she couldn’t help but ask Xu Tu, “Who is currently in charge of the R&D sector?”
Research and Development was the foundation of the enterprise and had always been kept in the family’s hands.
Xu Tu glanced at her, pursed her lips, and lowered her eyes.
“It is your aunt, Ms. Bai Huayi.”
